I was super excited to try this place and it was literally just okay. The service sucked and the food was just mediocre. It was also extremely overpriced. It is like a super cute diner vibe in here but overall I wouldn't come back. I will say their mimosa flight flavor options were decent. I got the chilaquiles and she said it was really spicy and I asked if they could put the sauce on the side and she said they couldn't but that she would make sure they only put a little bit of sauce on and when I got it, it was swimming in the sauce. It was indeed very spicy. It was good but too spicy and people clearly can't listen to instructions or give good service. What made it more confusing was that a table seated after us received their food before we did, which left us with some questions about order flow and kitchen timing. We joined the waitlist from the parking lot and were seated within two minutes. The restaurant was very crowded. Our waiter greeted us right away and was very friendly. My spouse had the bottomless mimosas which they kept coming. I had coffee which was also bottomless. For my meal I had the eggs purgatory. Basically it is a sourdough bowl filled with mushrooms, a spicy sauce, and egg. It was out of this world and got easier to eat as the bread softened. My spouse had the steak and eggs. For a place that was voted #1 brunch on Yelp list, I expected more, but if there wasn't that sort of reputation, the brunch in itself was good. This place is a brunch spot with some Mediterranean / Middle Eastern influence, so it is a bit more unique than nearby spots. We did not wait on a Friday, and there are plenty of tables, but the busy-ness may change on a weekend. We tried the following dishes - Short rib benedict: good, but compared to photos a month ago, they did change up the truffle parmesan potato to the plain old ones, not the aesthetically pleasing ball-shaped ones, so keep that in mind - Eggs in purgatory: aesthetically pleasing but a lot of the bread ended up being soggy but I have had similar dishes where there wasn't such an issue from the bread, so the choice of bread was okay. This one is a shakshuka style, and the tomato is on the tangier side. - Coconut pistachio kanafee: quite sweet and hearty. I think this dish can feed 6 in terms of sugar and fat content We also tried the Spanish Coffee cocktail that missed the mark on aesthetics - a part of the whipped cream fell off and they did not bother apologizing or remaking it. The flaming coffee was done not table side, so don't expect the drink to be on fire or some impressive show because that does not exist. Service is okay.
