Worth the wait! Lou's diner is a really cool diner NW of the strip on Vegas. It was great to get off of the strip and get some real diner food. They have lots of funky decor on the walls, and the menu has a wide variety. The big highlight is the homemade jams that they serve with breakfast, they are worth the trip alone. My sister found this place for breakfast and lunch located on Decatur about 10mins from downtown. Lou's Diner for breakfast was amazing they serve complementary crackers with their homemade jams . Wild Berry, mango, butter apple and several others . I ordered eggs and ham with fresh hash browns. The ham was tender and a smoky sweet flavor . The hash browns were crispy and the ends and perfectly cooked . It's a very famous spot also for the locals because there was a line and we had to wait around 20minutes . Well worth the wait . On my recent trip to Las Vegas , our group picked Lou's Diner to start our day. The pancakes reviews seemed promising. Overall the pancakes were good. Nice and fluffy. I'm a butter person so the pancakes did miss a beat for me. I had planned to have ham and eggs for breakfast. The menu had pork chops on it. So I went with pork chop. Cook to perfection, but the spice blend wasn't my favorite. Ok. I got to try the ham. This is a game changer. I'm putting Lou's on my list for breakfast on my next vacation. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely outstanding. Lou's Diner definitely lives up to the hype. From top to bottom this place is five stars. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the friendly and welcoming host. There was around a 30 minute wait to be seated, but the host kept us updated on the status. There were plenty of chairs out front n the waiting area, which was nice. This little Mom and Pop diner has plenty on the menu to choose from. You can order from their lunch menu during breakfast hours., so you should have no problem finding something you like. The waitress placed fresh jams they make in-house with crackers, which are also available for purchase. Each table gets a complimentary sample to try. All flavors were really tasty. Our food was served promptly despite it being busy. The portions are plentiful and the prices are excellent. Lou's is about 15 minutes from the strip with plenty of free parking. read more

Finally got a change to see what the hype was about! My mom and I had went in for breakfast. I was able to walk right in and was quickly seated. You get a plate with some samples of homemade jelly! Delicious! My mom opted for eggs Benedict and I had the creamed chipped beef. We ordered some toast so we could enjoy all the jelly! Staff was friendly and food was up fast. I am glad the dice sent me here but it's a diner and for someone who is Plant based, there is very little choices, I would think that in this day there are a lot of people who are lactose intolerant, plant based, Vegan.... Great breakfast spot! The ambiance feels very homey and welcoming. This place gets busy, but we came in at the right time that day and were able to get a table right away. Right off the bat, they gave us their complimentary jam and crackers, which came with three types of jam. They were fantastic. The papaya mango was the best one for sure. I ordered the Everything Omelet. It came with a choice of hashbrowns or home fried potatoes. I went with the home fried potatoes. It was great and the serving size was perfect. My friend wanted the steak and eggs, and our server, who was super nice and friendly, told us they had a special that day which was the flat iron steak. So my friend ordered that. She loved it and basically inhaled it. :) I thought it was amazing too. After eating, we just chatted for a bit, until we saw a handful of people waiting outside. I can't believe I've waited over 18 years to try out Lou's Diner! Lou's diner is a local Las Vegas restaurant that opened in 1969! The restaurant is known for the freshly made jams, soups, chilis, cakes, pies and so much more! Lou's Diner is a family owned restaurant. The very first diner opened up over 50 years ago. It was originally named Jo-Ells, but now is Lou's diner. The restaurant serves both Las Vegas locals and visitors! Current hours are from 6:30 A.M to 3:00 P.M daily except on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The restaurant is located off of the 95/Decatur exit! It's right next to the McDonalds and there is ample amount of parking available. Lou's Diner offers breakfast, lunch, desserts, and even a secret menu to order from! Some of their offerings include the following Country Fried Steak and Eggs Burritos Hot Cakes French Toast Waffles Omelets Sandwiches Sourdough Melts, Patty Melts, Reubens Burgers and so much more. My husband and I stopped by for breakfast around 8:00 A.M on a Saturday morning. I ended up getting the Chicken and Waffles, while my husband ordered off the secret menu and got the Pastrami Reuben Omelet. While waiting, a team member brought over drinks, Sprite and a Water, as well as their complimentary jam and crackers. The flavors provided were Cherry, Strawberry, Pineapple, and Blackberry. All of the jam flavors were amazing, but the pineapple jam was my favorite. It had fresh chunks of pineapple and it was good! The service was outstanding. The team member who was assisting our table kept our drinks refilled and was checking in on our table often! After about 20 minutes, the entrees arrived! The Chicken and Waffles were amazing! I had two large chicken breasts that were juicy and tender. I would eat a piece with the waffles! The waffles were light and fluffy. The maple syrup provided was a perfect combination with the chicken and waffles! My husband enjoyed the Pastrami Reuben Omelet. Don't forget to bring your mug! Lou's Diner is the epitome of Americana with great service. We had chocolate chip pancakes and chicken fried stake which were both excellent but the 3 different jams/preservatives put this place a notch above the rest. Lou wasn't here, but we either read about him in the menu, or our server dropped the knowledge that Brian bought the diner and worked hard to improve it, from redoing (all of the?) tables and chairs himself to cooking and perfecting the menu to checking on tables when he was around, but he wasn't here when my dad and I breakfasted on our second and final morning in Las Vegas. We would head straight from here to some random Costco in Henderson to get gas--where the lore of The Boy! would begin--to a Lazy Dog Bar & Grill somewhere in the Inland Empire for dinner and on home to lovely Whittier, California. Right, back to Lou's. My dad was suspicious at first, but his rather well credentialed and highly critical breakfast heart was quickly melted by lovely service, an old-fashioned community feel, and delicious food. (He would have loved the value as well, but I paid the bill.) Lou's is located in a rather unassuming little parking lot seemingly in the middle of nowhere, but don't let its anonymous setting fool you into thinking it's a nobody in the Vegas breakfast scene. When we walked in, there were a startling number of bikers finishing their breakfasts, but they didn't cause any trouble, and the one biker family (grandpa, grandma, and grandson) that arrived after we had already started eating was quite sweet, especially how big bad tattooed old grandpa doted on his grandson. The only thing that slowed us down was the amount of time it took for our food to be prepared. Right when I walked in, the place had a cozy, old-school diner vibe. It felt homey and my server was nice. She brought out some crackers with their famous jam, which was actually really good. But unfortunately, the food itself was a letdown. I ordered the country fried steak and pancakes and I was disappointed. The steak was so tough I couldn't even cut through it-- it was chewy and just plain hard. The pancakes weren't great either, which surprised me-- like how does a breakfast spot miss on that? I ended up just eating half the hash browns, the eggs (which came on a separate plate for some reason?), the crackers and toast with jam. Maybe the cook was just having an off day but I'm not sure I'll be giving it another try anytime soon. read more
