However, we waited for an hour for our food only to be told the kitchen lost our ticket. But like my last snafu here, the management was amazing and comped our entire meal to make up for the delay. Also, they remembered us and mentioned that they were sorry we kept having issues each time we visited. Overall, despite 2 challenged experiences, I still recommend this place. Brunch here is an indulgence of flavors and rich food, but it's also affordable, high-quality, and absolutely delicious. The bacon, egg, and Fried tomato breakfast croissant sandwich was actually much lighter than it sounds, while also delivering a satisfactory filling meal. The outside comes with a fantastic dressing, plenty of good crisp vegetables, and unique house croutons. my girlfriend had ordered the biscuits and gravy after I inquired about them and we got two large flaky, buttery, house-made biscuits with sizable servings of meat in the gravy, and an accompanying egg. I had personally asked if they would switch out one of the biscuits for an extra egg where I to order it and they said that they would, which is pretty cool because they were a busy restaurant and it's typically hard to get substitutions on brunch items since they're pretty straightforward. $2 mimosas for brunch or cool, even if they are a little bit weak, you can afford to grab a few of them, or a carafe and essentially get one for free. Service was very attentive, if not hovering, and gave us ample time after the meal, even though they were starting to be on wait and had a busy restaurant to begin with. I had the fried chicken tacos. I'm not gonna lie, I was nervous to order them because it sounded so weird but it was REALLY good. Holy cow. I'm deducting points for service. Nobody introduced themselves, which I'm starting to think is normal here, or asked how the food was or if we needed anything. When we sat down at the bar, one of the barbacks stared at us and then gave a party that arrived later waters but not us? What's going on with this? Is it a trend or a cultural thing? April showers bringing us back here. (Ok, pushing it a little.). But we do like this locale. I did a switch-up from sweet to more savory by going with the cross BLT. Bacon was perfect as was the tomato and egg. Croissant was just right as far as crusty outside and then the flaky inside. A friend and I brunch every couple of months or so, and it's our habit to try places we have not yet visited. I am so glad she suggested LouVino. It happened to be my friend's birthday, and when I walked in first with a card in hand, our server immediately asked if we were celebrating. My friend was greeted with good wishes and a complimentary plate of warm Country Donuts coated in sugary cinnamon goodness and served with a little pot of vanilla anglaise. We both opted to enjoy the Kentucky Coffee, a delicious, creamy and generous boozy beverage. I'm a total sucker for eggs Benedict, and at LouVino, they come as "chef's weekend whim." During our visit, the chef was feeling poached eggs on grits with salmon and crispy Brussel sprouts. It was a much more sophisticated breakfast than I was anticipating, and I loved it. My friend had the traditional breakfast plate, and she noted that it hit the mark. Our service was incredibly kind and attentive, and I look forward to coming back soon. My friends and I headed down to Louvino for an after work chill session. We an decided to split an array of small plates. We had to pretzel with beer cheese, tots, scallops with fried green tomatoes, steak and hoe cake, and chicken tacos. I paired my meal with the Carmen Electra Sauvignon Blanc wine flight and cheese. The wines were all crisp and fresh and the cheeses paired with them perfectly. The meal is served at somewhat of a staggered time frame, so everything may not arrive at the same time, but we were casually dining and winding down after work so the flow worked for us just fine and we continued to add things as the evening progressed. Somehow after our smorgasbord we still had room for dessert and tried the cookie dough stuffed beignets. Everything was delicious! My favorite items had to be the chicken tacos and beignets. Where do I even begin with this amazing place! So I just happened to come across this wonderful new restaurant with a paid advertisement on Instagram. That evening I was planning on being downtown with a friend and it started raining so I said hey let's just go to LouVino. Of course we didn't have a reservation so we had a bit of the way around 45 minutes. But hey it was a Friday night I expected this. But even while waiting the bar staff was so nice and so helpful and told us about their many wines and drinks that they offer. Fast forwarding to us getting our table we decided to get a bunch of different menu items off of the snack list to Tri. We were not disappointed in anything. We got the chicken tacos, the potato tots, the sliders. We were so for that we couldn't even try the desert. Our waiter Clinton was so awesome and fun we even made friends that were sitting next to us at the table and we were all raving about the amazing food. As I was leaving Clinton reminded me that brunch would start the next Saturday. Whatttt?! So Fast forward to today where I went for brunch just a week later after being there for dinner and I must say that the brunch was also very good! The biscuits were so yummy and the pancake tacos had a great flavor. The best part though were the $2 mimosas! EPIC! Overall I'm super excited about this new place in my city. Went to LouVino for restaurant week... food and drinks came out quickly which was a plus. Kudos for a busy weekend night. Our waitress unfortunately was not very pleasant. Never smiled. Was clearly not happy. She was quick, however did not bring out one of our guests first course. And did not bring out any deserts. Went straight to the bill. LouVino was highly recommended by some locals.After working up an appetite exploring the neighborhood, I decided to stop in for an early dinner. The restaurant just opened at 5:00pm. I asked for a table and was seated shortly. I asked the waiter for any specials or must tries. She recommended the Brussels sprouts. The portion was enough for sharing. I ordered the Mint Julep, after all this was derby day. For my meal I ordered the short ribs. Every thing was excellent. For dessert I had the derby pie. Which was a mini pecan pie with chocolate inside the bottom of the crust. It was a very decadent dessert. If in the OTR neighborhood, I strongly recommend you dine at LouVino OTR. I went with a friend after seeing it advertised everywhere. We were seated fast. The server came and brought water. She discussed the menu with us as new customers. I was more excited to try it than my friend. The restaurant was very nice. They take reservations but still work with you if you don't have any. I ordered the chicken tacos, duck fries, and crab and lobster cakes. Just had water with my meal. It didn't take long for the food to arrive. The tacos and fries came first. The tacos had fried chicken, potatoes and gravy. It wasn't actually bad but the gravy was extremely salty. The fries which was a nice portion were also extremely salty. We actually didn't eat them and our server returned them to the kitchen. They didn't offer it remake them but did remove it from the bill. The crab and lobster cakes were just okay. They actually lacked flavor even with the sauce. Sadly, I was not impressed by my first visit. The service was cool, she did her job to make sure we were informed and responded to our concern. She did also ask if we wanted dessert afterwards. Not sure if I will visit again. I felt the ads. I saw were a bite misleading. I didn't know the menu or that they were a small plate venue. Pre-Covid and Covid-era offer two different LouVino experiences in more than just the social distance/sanitization aspects of dining out. Pre-Covid, solid 5 star, excellent menu and selections, ample variety of each category of the menu, great staff and service, each dish ordered was amazing. Covid-era, they have truncated the menu to a more limited selection of offerings and on our visit several of the limited items were no longer offered for the evening. Everything we ordered was pretty good. I decided to go to LouVino with a couple of friends for brunch Sunday morning. We were greeted by the hostess at the front in the most awkward interaction. We went inside as they were opening for the day, but didn't have a reservation so the hostess and another employee were conversing about how there was absolutely no way they could seat us since we didn't have a reservation. I look over and see the entire bar empty and ask if we can sit there and she said yes immediately, almost seemingly forgetting about the bar and ready to turn us away in a second. We were the first people to sit at the bar and the bartender got us waters immediately. After looking over the menu for some time, the bartender came back over and asked to take our order. Our experience with the bartender was uneasy. When the last person of the group ordered an alcoholic drink, he asked to see everyone's ID's although only 1 out of the 3 of us ordered an alcoholic drink. After we sat there confused for a moment and said "what," he then corrected himself and only asked for my friend's ID. My friend then just decided to cancel her drink order. After placing our food orders we later changed our minds about ordering drinks. The bartender stopped in front of us to grab something and my friend quickly mentioned that we changed our mind about drinks and would like to order some whenever he got a chance. He responded "give me a second" in a snarky tone. Our food arrived pretty quickly, but as I mentioned before we arrived at opening and were the third group to sit down. We ordered the Loaded Baked Potato Tots as an appetizer. They were absolutely amazing, very crispy on the outside and packed with flavor. I ordered the fried chicken tacos and the Louvino triple stack. Both dishes were very disappointing. The fried chicken tacos had more cheese than all the other ingredients combined. There was a very strong, overwhelming spice in the mashed potatoes in the tacos that overpowered all the other flavors and made it hard to enjoy. Unlike the beautiful presentation of the triple stack pancakes, they were very bland and left me very dissatisfied. We left an hour and a half after arriving and the restaurant was still at least half empty. Overall, I had a very disappointing experience at LouVino. read more

LouVino is probably one of my favorite restaurants. Honestly, I had to do an update to let the world know it's still so good. Every visit I have had to LouVino has been extraordinary. The service is always great, the food is even better and the atmosphere is pleasant. My friend and I decided to go for Cincinnati restaurant week and it was like a spiritual experience! We got to try most of the menu and I seriously can't decide what was the best. LouVino is located in OTR, but it's a little different than some of the other popular spots in that area. The first thing I immediately noticed was how gigantic the place was. (Pro tip: you can get reservations, too!) This place does not feel crammed at all, super nice! The real reason we checked out this spot was for the mimosa deal. On the weekends you can get $2 mimosas! You cannot beat that. Needless to say we had our fair share! I'm giving LouVino 4/5 because the experience was amazing, but I was not expecting it to be a small plate place. Keep this in mind while you're thinking about coming here! Typically I don't take the time to write a negative review for a business. However, this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Our party had dinner reservations for seven fifteen pm and were seated on time, but that would be the only timely thing of the evening. We were sat in the basement, where we would spend just under four hours waiting to get the entirety of our meal (7pm-11pm) and this is not an exaggeration. Once food did hit our table, food was cold, and sat in front of the wrong guest whom had dietary restrictions pre-mentioned to the server. I only received my main entree after everyone else at the table had already received theirs, and had been halfway through their meals. On the bright side, unlike everyone else's food mine was warm. We had ordered drinks, which took a nominal amount of time to ever arrive to the table. This isn't to mention that the lemon drop that was ordered was made incorrectly, and when it was brought up to the server he seemed to want to combat that it wasn't made incorrectly. Ultimately it was taken off of the bill, but we shouldn't have to go through a whole song and dance. It felt as if the server knew the experience was poor and only checked on us a handful of times in four hours, and in that time frame he never offered an apology or had a member of management get involved. This isn't even to mention that the appetizer served with the course was originally three pieces of bread topped with crab, which then turned into one prior to us getting our food. This change was overheard from what I assume to be the manager to one of the bartenders prior to us sitting down at our table. Instead, he said he was gifting us a bottle of champagne that every server was gifted for the new year to take home, which just led to me feeling that it was adding insult to injury. "Take my free bottle of champagne" .. to coax over the fact we waited two hours longer than we wanted to be at the restaurant as we had plans for New Year's Eve that we were not able to fulfill because we were kept hostage, on our dime not to mention of a $112 "experience." This is not even to mention that the check out process was abysmal as well, another 20 minutes added because the server was unable to break down checks correctly. Where one of the members in my party was charged twice, but the server assured us it would drop off before midnight. One patron was charged a $40 gratuity, which had to be corrected. Other members of the party had the wrong bills charged to their cards. If you're looking for the same "experience" then I suggest going to none other than your Local Louvino! You too can spend hundreds of dollars for untimely cold food, and to be held hostage for four hours! read more

Wow! We absolutely loved the LouVino OTR location. We live near the Louisville location but I had forgotten what a deep wine selection they offer. We arrived with a reservation in time for happy hour. We were promptly seated and our server had wine selections on the table quickly. The small plates were all delicious. We had a charcuterie platter and the Brussells sprouts. Both were a treat for the taste buds. We had plenty of time for more wine - did I mention their wine selection is steller????? I had the salmon entree which was prepared expertly and presented beautifully. Our table also ordered the shrimp & grits, mushroom risotto and steak frites. Each dish was delicious. See the pics. We visited on a Friday night before seeing a show at the Taft Theatre and we had a wonderful experience. We were initially greeted by the manager Evan. He quickly pulled up our reservation and seated our party. From the introduction to our server Cole all the way to the dessert at the end of our meal, it was nothing short of amazing. Every staff member was professional during our visit and the setting was very cozy. We had a slight issue purchasing a gift card but the manager Evan went above and beyond to rectify it and make sure we were happy. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. read more
