There are lots of comfortable booths and they even have a cute neon sign that says "All you need is love and sushi" I am absolutely amazed at how delicious my meal was! Sushi is an item that can be wonderful in some cases and horrid in others. Often the difference between a good experience and a bad one comes down to the creativity of the chefs and the welcoming nature of the room. Love sushi came to town a little over a year ago. The space that they occupy has seen a succession of failed businesses and to be honest with you I didn't give them much of a chance when they first opened. They have hung in there and have built up local buzz in the neighborhood as being a place of quality. I finally decided it was time to give them a real chance and our visit was most impressive. The sushi menu is at least a mile long with old favorites and some interesting new combinations available. One item that stood out for me was the wonderful lobster roll. A wonderful mix of raw and cooked items with a terrific lobster cream on top. I can't recall having something like this anywhere else and I will certainly be ordering it on the next visit. Our server was welcoming and friendly and checked in on us several times throughout our visit. You can tell when someone is genuinely invested in you having a good experience versus somebody just going through the motions. She was definitely the former. I'm so pleased that this is just up the road from me and I'm looking forward to coming back soon. read more

Edamame and miso soup comes with our meal. The edamame are salted. The miso soup has a bean sprout and an enoki mushroom in it, it's just warmer than room temperature, but not hot. The Fraser salad would be better with romaine lettuce as the iceberg lettuce is soggy and the dressing is quite saturated too. The kimchi is okay. The fried avocado is so-so, mostly because of the cream cheese. The super bowl and the chicago are both decent rolls, the army roll isn't too bad. None blew me away at all. The chicken bibimbap is alright. Good amount of chicken. Could use more spinach and carrots. $0.50 for each sriracha. Should have stuck with one, since we didn't use up one even. read more

This is totally a "soo-she" spot as the majority of the rolls were developed for the American palate . Nearly every roll had cream cheese, was fried or drenched in some sauce. That's not to say that anything tasted bad, but it's far from authentic, but mainly what you'd expect from most "Sushi" joints these days... The quality of what we did order was good, everything tasted fresh and it seemed clean overall, so no complaints there. The service was the real deal breaker for me though. Our server was very quiet and didn't do much besides just drop off our food; we had to request chopsticks, plates and napkins multiple times. It's a mixed bag of a joint though. Like the prices also kind of reflect the experience. The staff are nice, but the place feels more like a run-down Mexican restaurant than a Japanese restaurant. You can't even sit at the sushi bar for some reason. I don't think there's a single Asian working here. The decor and placement of the tables makes absolutely no sense and is kind of abysmal. The booths are like 50s diner. The lighting is kind of all over the place. The music choice was bad. The TVs were playing like weird stock footage. This place has ambiance completely in the gutter. That said, my chef's choice sashimi plate was quite pretty and delicious. Was the rice on point? Not exactly. Was my roll very skillfully put together? It was not. My friend complained that their ramen wasn't definitely not housemade. Maybe stay away from of the could-be-frozen stuff. But you know what, in spite all the flaws the pricepoint for the quality of fish you get was excellent and the plating for it was quite nice too. If you want an excellent skilled Japanese sushi omykase-type experience, look way further. Then the miso soup which was also very good. I ordered the Bento box with the Bulgogi beef. This was one hell of a surprise. I have driven by this place so many times without ever noticing it was there. It's tucked away in a shopping mall at the corner of 14 and Garfield and it's hidden by a gas station from the intersection. We stopped by here on the way home from my son's soccer practice and were not greeted upon entering. They didn't seem too busy but there was no sign indicating whether we were to seat ourselves or to wait to be seated so we just wandered to an open booth. As we passed the carry-out counter, the girl there said, "sit anywhere that's clean". So we did. We ordered a literal "boat load" of sushi [it came out on a boat] and we were served complimentary edamame and miso soup for dining in. My son ordered the chicken nuggets and they literally looked like the frozen Banquet kind and they were burned. We've been back once since then and got him the chicken katsu and it also seemed overcooked to me and came with Hidden-Valley ranch. The Habibi Roll and the Party Roll are two of the best sushi rolls I've ever had. I was literally saying, "this is SOO good" after every bit. I also got the eel roll and even my [6y.o] son said it was soo good. He was surprised that he likes eel. I think the service could use a little improvement and so far I don't recommend items that aren't sushi from the menu, but I haven't tried the ramen and it looks really good. We ordered many different kinds of sushi rolls and seafood ramen. Their ramen is instant-noodle ramen, tastes like Korean ramen package. It is not Japanese ramen. Just want you to be aware. All their sushi are good! I think they use high quality ingredients and the taste is very fresh. My favorite roll at this place is Sashimi Roll which is cucumber wrapped raw fish. They also have Fruit rolls which I haven't seen in other restaurants. It's like a dessert sushi roll. Our waitress is very nice, has good customer service. We ordered sushi, beef bibmbap, and Udon soup. The bimbap was served with a cold, undercooked raw egg. Udon soup had an overly cooked hardboiled egg. Serve said "thats how our eggs are cooked,they are hardboiled." No shit its hard boiled, but hardboiled doesn't mean overcooked. The eggs were blueish gray. Very good but could have been hotter.( as a result the 4star). We also had the shrimp bento. Everything was really good. Enough to share.
