I have been shopping at Love Day from the minute they opened before I even opened my own shop. It was refreshing to see a boutique with that Downtown/LES vintage style that I was used to shopping at without the city prices and in Astoria before anyone else was here! Every time I need a specific color summer dress or inpsiration for a night on the town, I find it. I also love how she takes vintage dresses and reworks them to be relevant to the trends now. Overpriced, like WAY overpriced. Come on, we all know Etsy and Ebay exist, and we're locals trying to support your small business here, but seriously? It's a 198o's used with small holes sequin jacket, it's not an Armani or Versace, be REAL with your PRICE POINTS. We know how it works, we get it, but the attitude=no go, esp after these prices. Brought a few friends in more than once, and the pretentious flair drove us out both times, bummer. We were hoping to find another place to tack on our "cool local vintage thrift" list, but this isn't one of them, unless you want Manhattan prices that is. Darn it. read more

Queens lacks stores that retail vintage clothing. But Loveday 31 is a boutique that stands out from all the rest. In the heart of Astoria Loveday 31 is located on 31st ave and is easily accessible by train. The boutique has been in business for six years and is somewhat small. Even though it lacks some room, the articles of clothing found there cant be found anywhere else in the city. Once stepping into the store, it feels as if your transported back in the 70's due to Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zep, playing in the background. The store has a wide range of accessories and apparel for women. Loveday 31 is an amazing vintage store which can be said to be one of Queen's hidden treasures. read more

Tiny shop in a convenient spot. The items are all in great condition and have been thoughtfully chosen. I don't think I would call this a thrift shop per se; it is more of a vintage shop. There is a good variety of dressier items and shoes and jewelry--I actually found a ring that fit my size 4.5 finger! Handbags and accessories line the walls. I love this place. It has a great selection of belts, jewelry, dresses, skirts, bags, tops, scarves and hats. The selection is varied but there is always something worthy of buying. I think some people are being a little harsh. This is an independently owned, small business, located in Astoria- prices may seem high, tight space, etc-- but it is to be expected if the business is to thrive. The owner is welcoming and friendly. This store is connecting with other small businesses trying to create something special and unique in Astoria. I moved or I'd be there every weekend. I love LoveDay 31! All my favorite pieces in my wardrobe come from here and I'm always getting compliments on them. What I love about LoveDay 31 is even though the clothing is vintage it isn't a thrift store. Don't get me wrong, I love the thrill of a thrift hunt like the next girl but its great to know you can go to a vintage boutique where the hunt is done for you! I don't have to go to hundreds of thrift stores or yard sales hoping to find a great 70's dress or the perfect MC boot (my most recent purchases) its already there waiting for me. I never feel like I'm shopping in my grandma's closet, everything is hip and cute. There's a great selection of accessories and handbags so its hard to walk out empty handed. Great vintage with out breaking the bank, what more could a girl ask for? read more

Loveday 31 is one of the better boutiques I've found here in NY. The owner has a unique view of vintage styles and has employed her mother from time to time to alter summer dresses before she puts them out on the racks! I love the feel of the store and how it changes subtly, but maintains a sleek and comfortable feel. I went into this store a few months ago and was sorely disappointed. When I first walked in I was inside by myself for about 15 minutes while the shopkeeper and his friend had a heated discussion on the bench outside. There were no prices anywhere. When he finally came inside and I asked the prices it was obvious that he was sizing me up before deciding what prices to quote me on things. 55$ for a "gently" worn leather belt? The last thing I need is to go into a store and have prices on items arbitrarily assigned based on how wealthy I look that day. When I mentioned that the prices should be posted he said "come back in one month and they will be posted," so I assumed maybe the store hadn't been open long, but when I asked he said it had been there 3 years. I would definitely avoid this place as not only is their pricing unfair, but illegal. read more

One of my favorite places in all of New York city. Half my dresses came from here. The environment is totally welcoming and their selection is amazing with gems to be found, without having to go and dig them up. Than again, the young friendly hip owner does that for us - she keeps us all looking fabulous. LOVEDAY 31 has the best vintage pieces at reasonable prices. I really appreciate that this thrift boutique-like store is small. It's not as overwhelming as other larger thrift stores. The owner is so nice and friendly, she says she curates everything. Most things seem to range to me between $30-45. I've found two or three really great designer pieces! If you're in the neighborhood, I'd recommend popping in to see what she has. I absolutely love this thrift shop. It has unique vintage dresses, pants, skirts, blouses, jewelry, and more! The shop owner is very friendly and very helpful always assists you to find what you are looking for without being pushy. She also has a great selection of items she hand picks herself, she even remembered a skirt I was wearing that I bought there a year and half ago, and allows you to try on as many items as you need! The quality of the clothing is also very good I have bought here dresses and skirts that have lasted me many years. I also love the decor and the way the items are displayed in the store. The prices are fairly reasonable there is a 15 or 20 dollar rack outside the store that has pretty good options as well. The most I have paid for an item is 24 dollars and it is definitely better quality than the cheap stuff you get at H&M or Forever 21. I love this store and will be coming back as long as it's around which I hope is many years!!! read more

This little gem of a store was such a pleasant surprise. I first purchased a vintage Coach bag and the price was good and the bag in great condition. I recently bought an amazing Guy La Roche black velvet dress for x-mas parties that is so beautiful. This store will keep me coming back, it has a great neighborhood feel and the owner is nice and not charging ridiculous prices as many vintage stores do. Wow! I happened to be passing by at night and saw Loveday 31 was still open well, I just had to go on in and boy am I happy I did! What a gem great selection of vintage and they carry small sizes which is so hard for me to find. In 15 minutes I spotted an amazingly colorful belt, a breezy light skirt and a peplum top. Are they ever opened?? I have passed by several times. I have a box of clothing in my trunk , all ready to go, cool boots etc, and I would love to check out some of the stuff I see in the window. BUT... when ever I go there they are closed and the hours are posted as opened their site when I have been there. What's UP?
