Unbeknownst to me at the time, I'm allergic to a chemical found in gel polish as well as the solution used to build acrylic and gel nails. The reaction causes my skin to burn, blister, itch, and swell all at once. Now that I'm fully aware of this allergy, I only get dip nails. On 5/24/26, I called and made an appointment at Crystal's. I couldn't remember the original tech's (James)name because it had been years since I'd been back after previously experiencing an allergic reaction from gel polish used on my toes by another staff member. My appointment was at 11:00 AM, and they took me right on time. Initially, everyone was friendly. The woman who did my pedicure was very nice. However, when the male tech,not James, started my nails, I became concerned because he began filing my nails down instead of soaking them off, which is how every other salon I've visited handles dip removal. When I asked about it, he told me, "Oh, we don't do that anymore." The tech then started applying a thick paste-like overlay to my nails. I immediately said, "Wait, I want dip nails." He responded, "Yes, I know," and continued applying the product. Although the nails looked nice cosmetically, I knew something was wrong. By the time I got home, I started experiencing the same burning sensation that I had before during allergic reactions. I called the salon and asked to speak with the owner, but I was told she was not working that day. I explained what was happening and was instructed to come back in. Upon my return, the friendly atmosphere was completely gone. The staff repeatedly insisted that all of their powders were dip powders and explained that they simply do dip "a different way." They removed my nails while speaking loudly in another language, and the tech removing them was rough and visibly irritated. I was refunded my money and left, but there was still residue left on my nails. At that point, I didn't even feel comfortable saying anything further because I was made to feel like I was the problem. Needless to say, my fingers are now swollen because the dip was done "a different way", not the way James originally did them, and not the way any other salon has done my dip nails successfully without causing a reaction. My only recommendation is this: If a customer specifically asks for dip nails, please make sure there is a clear understanding of the process being used and the products involved, especially when allergies are communicated. Also... where is James?

My first visit, I had my nails and a pedicure done by Amy--and I absolutely loved it! Since then, I've kept coming back. Every time I show her a picture, she gets it exactly right. Always on point! I'm consistently happy with both my nails and pedicures. Amy is super nice and very thorough with her work, which I really appreciate. I explained several times that I prefer short nails and a very thin application, and asked that the acrylic be kept minimal. Instead, the technician built the acrylic thick and longer than my natural nail, and it was partially applied onto my skin rather than properly bonded to the nail. As a result, when I put my sandals on after leaving the salon, the entire acrylic piece popped off immediately. Additionally, the gel polish on my pinky toe was applied past the nail onto the surrounding skin, and that entire gel piece lifted off shortly after leaving. The acrylic color also ended up looking milky and different from the gel polish on the rest of my toes, so the big toe didn't match the others. For a service that cost about $70, I expected better attention to detail and proper application. Nails lifting or falling off right after leaving the salon shouldn't happen. Unfortunately this felt rushed and poorly executed. I would appreciate someone from the salon reaching out regarding a possible correction or refund.

Not only is she incredibly talented with nail art and designs, but she's also so friendly and welcoming every time I come in. She even does my daughter's nails, and she's wonderful with her too. I always leave happy with my nails, and I get so many compliments on them. If you're looking for someone who truly cares about her work and her clients, Annie is the best. Highly recommend!

When I asked about the skipped step, she brushed over it and said they didn't need a fill despite there being significant growth since my last appointment. They will send you a text confirming appt date and time. On my appt day, I walked in and they have a little Kiosk on the left where you enter your phone number to check in. The chair for my pedicure was amazing, I put it on the kneading setting and almost fell asleep haha. She even put rose petals and orange slices in the water. My manicurist was Emily, she was super helpful, nice, patient and takes pride in her work. She didn't rush just to get me out, she took her time to make sure my nails looked flawless. I didn't know how to ask for what I wanted, so I showed her a picture and she NAILED IT. It looks identical to what I wanted. What I loved most is while she was doing my nails she kept checking in on me to make sure I liked it or if there was anything I wanted to change. The facility is cute and very clean! It really exceeded my expectations and I will definitely go back!
