Understandably one of the top smash burgers in the city, and at an affordable price! We love coming here early (right around open at 5pm-ish) so we can snag a table since it gets quite busy. Order a beer or two at your table, and then someone will come around to take your burger order.. the drive thru with jalapeños never fail for me, with a side of fries. The back patio is lovely to sit in while you inhale your burger and beer, but don't come too late because you'll have to wait in quite the line! Smash burgers are really quite affordable here; I've made the trek twice now despite living decently far from Woods Cole Valley. I'll be back for more!

Overall very average experience. For what it is, a simple drive thru style burger place, it's pretty overpriced. Additionally you're ordering yourself and getting napkins, condiments, water, etc. yourself so there's not much to the service aspect of it. We went around 3:30pm on a Sunday and it was packed but we were lucky enough to be seated within 5 minutes. I don't really understand why people would wait so long to eat here. The burger was decent but definitely not worth a wait. The fries were not great but also just not my preferred style of fry.

Got the drive thru and picnic burger with chili fries! Both were good size and good for a quick burger fix. Chili cheese fries were good but a bit salty. Beers were nice, interesting glass though. Love the patio vibe, gets pretty busy so tables have to shared most of the time. Sat by the fire pit which was ok but the counter is a bit far to reach the food comfortably. Service was kind and quick.

soooo goooddd! OG burger with sesame seed bun!

I'm dreaming about this smash burger every night! The burgers and fries are made fresh to order, and it was fun watching them assemble everything. I had the Drive Thru burger while my partner got the OG smash with two patties. The beef tasted super fresh and juicy. Even a single patty had plenty of flavor, unlike a lot of chains. The Drive Thru burger was perfectly balanced with pickle slices, swirl of sauce, bed of lettuce, and slices of tomato. The evening wait can be a bit long since people come for the drinks and vibes, but it's definitely worth it!!

Lovely's is a super popular burger spot tucked in the Wood's at Cole Valley. The weather has been amazing recently, and eating burgers/fries in their ambient outdoor patio out back was such a good vibe. Heat lamps are provided for those chillier evenings, too. We got the Drive Thru burgers, which come with shredded lettuce, American cheese, some special sauce, and a hefty burger patty. Honestly a very standard but perfect hamburger. The fries came out piping hot and were so perfectly crispy -- we really enjoyed these. The line for patio seats can get long, so plan accordingly! You can order drinks at Wood's at sip while you wait. Apparently, you may still be able to order burgers to go even if you are unable to get a seat before the kitchen closes.

Wait in line wasn't too long, just depends when people get to and if you want inside or back patio. Got in line around 6:40p, got seated by 6:57p, ordered at 7:03p, and got our food at 7:40p had to minus a star for how long it took from order to getting our food. I was very impressed with the food here! The burger was so good it's definitely a runner up to my #1 burger but it's up there. For a simple burger so so so flavorful, it didn't feel like a smashburger to me just a regular burger but hella good. My favorite tho has to be the Chicago dog. After visiting Chicago this past year, their Chicago dog may be the best Chicago dog in the city. This thing was loaded yet proportionate, flavors of everything mixed well together, and yes beef dawwwwg pls! The fries weren't my favorite, but they were still good. Service was good, parking is street parking, small place indoors with a bigger patio seating outside in the back.

3.5 stars We arrived at Lovely's at 7:55pm on a Friday. The line was out the door. We got seated at the back patio and ordered by 8:20. Seating indoors is first come first serve, btw. The tables at the back patio are long picnic style tables with benches that you will most likely have to share with another group. They sit 8 at a table. My boyfriend and I were seated at a table that was later filled with a group of 6, which made things feel a bit crowded. Being elbow to elbow with another stranger wasn't the most comfortable dining experience. We ordered two double burgers -- the drive thru and the picnic, and shared an order of fries. Our order finally arrived at 9:00. The menu does state that their kitchen is small and to please be patient when demand is high, but 40 minutes for 2 burgers and fries felt longer than expected. Both burgers were solid. It was missing the thin crispy edges I'd expect from a smash burger. I loved the thick cut pickles and the addition of red onions in the picnic. Fries were pretty standard, but could be better in my opinion. The food was good, but between the crowded seating and the wait time, I'm not in a rush to come back.

French fries, chili cheese fries, drive thru burger and cult classic hot dog.

Agree with Sam Smith's review! The drive thru burger was really good and we appreciated the thicker cut pickles that had a snap when you bit into them. We enjoyed the french fries as well. They were nice and crispy and soft in the middle. The hot dog had a good snap but I don't think it was worth it though especially with the basic bun. My friend got the chili cheese fries and he loves them, but I thought it would be better if it were more savory and flavorful.

I've been to the Lovely's in Oakland, and can't say this one is any different - both have a great outdoor atmosphere you can get a delicious burger or hot dog while having a nice, cold beer. This is definitely one of my favorite spots for a chili cheese dog - it has the perfect balance and isn't too heavy.

Bomb burgers, great service, fun and kid friendly environment! I've been to Lovely's in Oakland and finally got to try the Cole Valley location. Yummy burgers and fries. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to meetup for drinks, yummy food, a big crowd, or with kids! I'll be back

Was craving a Chicago hotdog and found this place near by. Hotdog was made to perfection. Even the sports peppers on the dog were spicy and tangy. My husband ordered the picnic burger and was able to make it vegetarian with an impossible patty. He kept bragging how delicious it was and devoured every bite. We also got a side of cheese fries which were phenomenal and def hot the spot. MY husband tried their Untitled Art IPA, which is non alcoholic. I tried a sip and thought it had alcohol because of how hoppy it was. I was impressed. The place itself is tiny but they have a back patio with more seating. We really enjoyed this place and will be back!
