Small Straus Organic Vanilla in a cake cone
Jess H.

Boys wanted some ice cream after lunch and this was the perfect spot before we headed out. One had a medium salted caramel in a waffle cone and the other had a small vanilla in a cake cone. Both really enjoyed the ice cream and friendly customer service.

Soft serve ice cream. Tried their Straus Vanilla and can definitely stand behind Strauss quality! Will have to come back and try some other flavors. For a little sweet treat, it is not a bad price as most places! Check it out! Also note, they have a "Soft Serve" booth that is completely separate from the restaurant! I have not tried their burgers, but will give it a try at some point.

I ate here again for the first time in a couple years and was a much bigger fan this time around. I got the monthly special chicken Parmesan sandwich and it was great! The sandwich was massive and kinda hard to eat, but overall it met all my expectations. I do think their fries and some of the other items are a bit bland, but the sandwich was a standout to me. I will also say the soft serve deserves a review of its own - this is some of the best soft serve I've ever had and I truly get it almost any time I go to the ferry building. It really is so good

Food is an excellent value for the area. $35 for my husband and I to get burgers and a fry. (I got a double cheese burger and he got a hamburger). Bun was an excellent brioche with tons of cheese. I loved the pickles and sauce. I'd prefer a medium rare but understand medium is the go-to in a fast food setting. This IS fast food but elevated by the quality. Easy outdoor seating with a water station perfect for the walking we do along the Piers. Four stars because the patio is open and on the sidewalk so it's got an odor that isn't pleasant. We went inside to eat but the patio would be good for having a cold beer and people watching. Service is adequate for a quick burger spot.

Food was good and fresh. It was quick for quicker dinner before going one the ferry. Great services. I love the whole restaurant and you can sit outside. Beautiful restaurant.

Chicken Schnitzel

THE HOT SAUCE was peak! Dropped by for lunch on Tuesday. The line was short and moved fairly quickly despite the peak lunch hours. What we got: - Chicken Schnitzel ~ Very photogenic. Huge piece of fried chicken breast. Beautiful and colorful, but lacked flavor. Although the generous amount of Arugula was a plus, it overpowered the burger. I ended up eating that first to get my veggies in. The pickled turnips/radish added nothing but color. Halfway through, the burger felt dry and flavorless. The hot sauce came to the rescue! - Western Bacon Blue Ring ~ Solid burger. Juicy burger. Bbq sauce added the perfect tang to balance the blue cheese. Crispy onion rings were a great touch! - Onion Rings ~ MASSIVE. Crunchy on the outside, well-battered rings on the inside. One of the rings was three rings coated and stuck together, which was a decent surprise! - Chili ~ Decent. Very cheesy. All in all, a solid place. But the hot sauce was a gem! Perfect for onion ring dipping or burger drenching!

Falafel Salad

Good spot for an easy lunch in the Ferry Building area. * Staff at register was unfriendly but took our order quickly. * Kitchen had our orders out quickly & were glad to have beat the weekday lunch rush. Queue was out the door by 12ish * Salad was tasty - I enjoyed it most for all the flavors except the falafel (can be dry).

Although I'm not a hamburger person, Gott's really impressed me with their Gruyere & Caramelized Onion Burger. Not only was the patty cooked medium rare without telling them, but the hamburger did not fall apart while I was eating it. Moreover, there is a special ketchup packets that you can season your hamburger with.

Crab only on one side of the bun

Touristy.. disappointed with the seasonal soft shell crab sandwich. Small crab for the large bun for the cost. The garlic fries and tuna tacos were great however.

On a recent trip to San Francisco, after a beautiful ride on the Vallejo Ferry I found myself a little hungry so I decided to stop by Gott's Roadside for a quick lunch. This is the kind of place where u walk up to the counter and order off of a menu on the wall-Today after looking over the really good menu,I went with the Green Chile Cheeseburger ($10.99) & Garlic Fries ($3.99). The cheeseburger was very good-super tasty-solid value-pretty spicy-it had Anaheim Chile, jack cheese, jalapeño mayo-I liked it quite a bit-I would order it again for sure. The Garlic fries were well made, they were doused in some serious garlic butter-very tasty. This place features a pretty extensive beer and wine menu, though we didn't get to indulge on that part of the menu on this trip-good to know they had solid options available.I also noticed that they offered a pretty good shake and soft serve menu-which I also didn't partake in,but I'm sure I would've enjoyed it. In closing-if u ever find yourself in San Francisco near the Ferry Building and looking for a solid spot for a good lunch-I would fully recommend Gott's Roadside-good eats and a fun lively environment-what more can you ask for.

Chicken tenders, tuna, burger, and garlic fries
Amanda W.

A fun stop at the ferry building. We ordered the chicken tenders, garlic fries, and tuna burger. The breading on the chicken tenders is super crispy with Panko crumbs and a garlic fries had actual garlic oil on them. It's a great stop for some quick food. If you're in the area, I'll try it.

California Burger

It was overcast in SF on Saturday. I tried this burger spot for the first time. I rarely have American-style burgers normally, but this one felt really unique. Their bacon is cooked slightly crispy and charred, which I think is meant to give it a nice crunch. The beef patty is super thick, and one whole burger was a little too filling for me. The fries are topped with a special kind of thin chives, and they taste amazing with ketchup. It's a bit hard to find if you walk through the mall. You have to exit through one door first, then head back in to get to the restaurant.

Do the burgers come with fries or do you have to buy them separate?

The burgers do not come with fries. You need to order them separately.

Along with the vegan Impossible Burger, are other options for a this sandwich offered? Such as a vegan bun, vegan cheese, etc.?

The sandwich needs to be on sourdough bread (only vegan option), they don't have any vegan cheese, make sure to get it without the homemade sauce (not vegan) and request to have it cooked in oil because it's usually cooked with butter (also not… Read more

The burrito salad was alright, could have used a little more flavor in my opinion. I really like the small plates and sharing atmosphere of this place, and appreciate all of the vegetarian forward options. The space is small and intimate, definitely great for a date night or girls night! I will say if you make a reservation (I'd recommend, it's a small place and gets busy) be sure to be prompt as part of our group was running about 10 minutes late, and the servers kindly let us know we only had the table for an hour and a half, which is fairly strict on weekends.

We also ordered the non-happy hour burrata salad and the filet kebab. Our server was very attentive, though our main food items were somehow forgotten and we had to remind them.. but once they arrived, everything was great! I loved the pomegranate in the burrata salad. I also appreciated the non-alcoholic options, including my favorite Fentiman's rose lemonade. I would definitely recommend this place, especially for happy hour. My only small critique is the restroom, since the entire restaurant is so classy and chic, it would have been the perfect finishing touch if the restrooms matched the same vibe.

The people were laughing, the drinks were flowing. It smelled really good, which we would later find out was from the food especially that Mac and cheese. We started off with different wines, some that Tom recommended based on what we told him we didn't like or did like. He apologized for our previous experience and was genuinely a nice guy. Honestly it's very admirable for a business owner to take feedback to heart and want to incorporate it. Plus he's a really cool guy when you get to know him. The staff was busy running around but still made time to come check on us. Our final verdict is we came on a bad day. This time we got the actual Waystone experience. We finally got to try the chicken bites with a creamy aioli, fries with yogurt sauce, and the star of the show was the Mac and cheese. Tik tok did live up to the hype and we will have to come back for one of their jazz nights. Be warned this place gets busy! But it's worth it.

Yes, the wine is excellent..(not selling you 'natural' actively fermenting bottles) thoughtfully curated... the cab franc , interesting without being pretentious. Yes, the bites hit (shoutout to the watermelon salad). But what really makes Waystone magic is the people. Everyone who works here is warm, funny, and present in a way that makes you feel like you belong, whether it's your first visit or your 50th. Live jazz nights here are their own kind of therapy. I once saw a harpist who made me feel like I was floating inside the music. No cover, no pressure, just ridiculously good musicians making the whole place glow. One thing I love: the rotating local art. The walls change every so often as new artists take over, and it completely shifts the energy of the space. You might not love every piece, but that's kind of the point--it's alive, it's personal, and it's supporting real artists in SF. And if you do love something, you can take it home (yep, everything's for sale). Whether you're here for the jazz, the wine, the art, or the people.. waystone shows up with soul. I'd give it six stars if I could.
