*Dinner/pizza review only* Arrived right at dinner opening at 5pm and my party of 4 was seated right away on the outdoor patio. Service was fantastic, they checked in often and were very friendly and fast. We shared the laundromat little gem caesar salad, crispy brussels sprouts, and pizza alla vodka margherita. The caesar salad was simple yet delicious and fresh. The crispy brussels were great. I'm not a huge goat cheese fan but it worked really with the brussels sprouts and the apple cider reduction that added sweetness to it. Pizza alla vodka margherita was wonderful. Saucy, flavorful, and cheesy. Would come back to try their bagels and burgers!

All I need is a bagel and schmear

Ok...technically, I have yet to visit The Laundromat establishment, but I was lucky enough to try their bagel and schmear down at the Mountain View farmer's market. The Calabrian chili cream cheese is to die for!! It tastes like spicy vodka rigatoni but with bread instead of pasta. The bagel itself was fairly standard, but I really enjoyed the rip and dip method. I just wish they would allow single serve schmear orders......

    Poppyseed Bagel. Darn good!

Kown best for their pizzas for dinner and burger nights, the Laundromat has a surprisingly strong bagel selection for breakfast. We just happened to be on our way to Constance Matcha down the street, and saw the HUGE rack of bagels front and center stage at the Laundromat as we walked by. I've tried a lot of bagels in this life from NYC and locally, so hey.. why not? I picked up a pair of their poppyseed bagels which surprised me.. I say are amazingly good.. perfect somewhat dense yet chewy texture once you get beyond the perfectly slightly crisp outer shell that breaks away at the slightest provocation. This is a THICK bagel with a beautiful consistency. The second bagel I tried two days later, and it was still tender at first bite. They also had their share of six different cream cheeses, but I skipped those to stay somewhat healthy.. I would have loved a small serving of the cream cheese, but the tubs were enough for at least six bagels if doled out generously - way too much cheese from my two bagels. Whatever you choose, I found the service here to be super friendly cheery and welcoming - like they know you already! =) I'll definitely be back for the bagels here and maybe the pizza too. Surprisingly good bagels!

I've had their bagels and they were comparable to really good, chewy NY bagels. So we had high expectations for their Detroit pizza and double cheese burgers. We waited in line for about 50 minutes and landed on bar seating. Service was efficient and accommodating. * * * O U R P I C K S * * * DOUBLE PATTY, DOUBLE CHEESE ~ shrettuce, pickles, onions and French-style potato salad. This was juicy, but it was missing tomatoes and more lettuce and onions. Just felt heavy and greasy, because it was double meat and double cheese. It needed some freshness from extra vegetables to make it cleaner tasting. I tasted the pickles in between the patties, but it still didn't cut the greasiness. The buns were a bit too soft and they didn't seem toasted, so while holding it, it became smooshed. Potato salad was ok, though I'd probably prefer fries with ketchup. It's half-cut roaster potatoes with a bland dressing, because the potatoes are big pieces. If they were cut smaller, you'll taste the dressing more than just potatoes. 3.5/5 SAUSAGE AND PEPPERS PIZZA ~ fennel sausages, Jimmy Nardello pepper cream, pearl peppers, mozzarella, & red sauce. This was ok. Crust was crispy, but the pizza bread was more dense than we would have liked. The Jimmy Nardello pepper cream sauce on top was heavy and it was too saucy for us. Mozzarella had a good cheese pull and was good. But like the burger, it felt heavy. Needed more acidity to balance and lighten the load. 3.5/5 I guess on Wednesday nights, people don't mind waiting an hour for the burgers. If it had sliced tomatoes and more lettuce, it would have been much better. But for $15, they should have the essentials to make a good burger. As for the pizza, maybe we chose the wrong one for us. We left disappointed. In my opinion, it's overhyped for 1hr+ wait.

Came on a Wed night for the smashburger and wow it didn't disappoint! I wouldn't say I'm much of a burger fan but heard I had to try the smashburger here so we came around 6pm and waited ~45 min for a table for 4. They call you when the table is ready so we were free to walk around. For the smashburgers, they have a beef and a vegetarian patty version, both with 2 patties, double cheese, pickles, and onion. No substitutions but trust me we all got the og burger and it was delicious. Loved the crispy patties with a nice charred edge. I think this may have changed my mind about smashburgers entirely, it was that good. We also got the crispy brussel sprouts to share (on a bed of goat cheese for extra flavor) and the mushroom pizza. I liked the variety of mushrooms they use which gave the pizza a nice earthiness. I'm not a huge fan of white pizzas though so I thought it could have used an extra boost of flavor but for detroit style thicker crust pizza, this was solid.

    Smash burger with potato salad

New to the neighborhood and still pretty new to San Francisco, we kept hearing about burger night at The Laundromat, so we decided to check it out. We originally put our name on the list and were quoted about a 1.5 hour wait, but we hopped in the bar line and ended up seated within about 15 minutes. The bar area was a little tight and could've used a little more awareness from guests scooting down, but the staff was friendly, attentive, and kept things moving. The cocktails and wine selection were both solid, and the vinyl spinning in the background gave the place a great atmosphere. From a food standpoint, the burger has the bones of being an excellent burger. The bun was well chosen, the patties were cooked properly with a good crust, and the combination of lettuce, onions, pickles, special sauce, and American cheese worked really well together without trying too hard. Overall the balance was there. My only critique was the seasoning. Mine was very heavy handed with the salt, and after trying my partner's burger too, both leaned saltier than they needed to. The potato salad was good and honestly could've used a little more seasoning, We finished with a cannoli that was excellent. Not overly sweet, with a great crispy shell and nice balance to the filling. On my quest to find the best burger in San Francisco, I'm not sure this one is quite in contention yet, but there's definitely potential here and enough positives that I'd come back and give it another shot.

I can't believe I've never tried the laundromat in all my years in San Francisco but I finally got the chance to you over the weekend and I must say that it's a bit overhyped. There was a small line when I went in the morning around 10 but it moved pretty quickly, and I got a few different bagels to sample including pumpernickel and everything bagels. The spread was really fantastic. I got the Calabrian chili one end it had a great kick. will still being super smooth to spread. The look and feel of both the bagels and spread reminds me of pop bagels in New York but the flavor and texture of the bagels is a little less good. (This one felt more tough to chew through/split). I'm glad this neighborhood has a bagels spot, though I prefer Boichik and Bones Bagels over this one personally. The staff was friendly and the store is small but clean!

The Laundromat is a charming, cozy spot with mismatched decor, 10/10 food, but unfortunately rushed service. The crispy Brussels were delicious. The tartness of the apple cider vinegar cut through the richness of the goat cheese perfectly. The pepperoni pizza had the ideal balance between crispy and moist, and the olive oil cake was a fantastic way to end the meal. Sadly, the whole dining experience felt extremely rushed. We were still mid-meal when our waiter asked to box up our food. At one point, my friend was mid-bite into her pizza when the server collected her plate and napkin. It felt like they were more focus ed on turning over tables than creating a relaxed dining experience. Hoping the service is better if we choose to return.

Really cute pizza spot on Balboa! From a distance, I was like, "Is this a popular laundry hour or something?" until I saw the subtext advertising their pizza and bagels underneath. Came on a Saturday around 6PM and had a pretty short 30-40 minute wait, in which we got some boba from Purple Kow nearby. Our group of 7 was pretty hungry so we ordered five pizzas (and some brussels sprouts) which was way too much. Brussels were really good, goat cheese and balsamic is a tried and true combo. Nice crisp on the surface. Sausage pizza was definitely my favorite, really rich and acidic tomato sauce that paired with the sweet drop peppers. Perfectly balanced bites all around. Really nice crust. The rest of the pizzas were pretty good, but I felt like lacking that something special (although the crust on all of them were great). The maitake in the mushroom pizza was great, but I felt like it was somewhat overpowered by the cheese (of which there was a LOT). The vodka sauce margherita didn't lean strongly enough into the vodka sauce for me, and tasted more like just a red sauce with some cream. The pepperoni was a solid pepperoni slice, but I think that was all. Would definitely come back (and maybe try the broccoli one)!

Ambiance 5/5, service 4.5/5, food 4/5 I really like the outdoor seating, as well as the open air bar inside. We got two canned beers (I got a tropical sour) and a pizza to go to sit on the bench outside since the wait for a table was so long. We got the mushroom pizza and shared it between two people. Depending on how hungry you are it could probably feed 3 people. Lots of cheese and digestively dangerous for that reason. I would love to go back and try a smash burger on a different night. The pizza is Detroit style with flakey but thick crust. This place is super popular so much so that at 8pm on a Friday there was a 20 min wait to be seated. If getting takeout, I recommend ordering in advance.

Cozy atmosphere with bar vibes and some of the best pizzas in SF! Staff were very chill and kind. Don't forget to try both the house-made ranch and the truffle honey. These were absolutely worth the charge for enhancing the pizza flavor and texture profile. Bring your next date here or your next catch-up with the homies! 5/5 - Sausage and Peppers - The star of the show of the 3 pizzas we got. The crunch from the bake was perfect, and it was well complemented with the pepper and basil toppings. Dip this in the truffle honey for an absurdly heavenly experience. Can't recommend this pizza enough. 4/5 - Pizza Alla Vodka Margherita - This was also a fantastic pizza that gave a contrast in texture profile from the Sausage and Peppers pizza. If you love margherita pizza, you'll get your fix here. Order this as a second pizza if you are unable to decide! Also, dip this in the house-made ranch for another heavenly experience. 3.5/5 - Classic Pepperoni - One of the better pepperoni pizzas I have had. Though I thought the pepperoni was charred a tad bit more than I would have liked, this still lives up to the name of being a classic pepperoni. If this is typically your go-to pizza topping, don't hesitate to get this one! 5/5 - Tinto de Verano - Sangria drink that was super smooth and very delicious. Sipping this drink with our pizza was one of the most surprisingly good combos I've had for a meal. Highly recommend ordering this when you visit!

I went here twice in one day - once in the morning to try the bagels, and again in the evening for their dinner menu. Highly recommend both. The bagels - extremely good, New York level bagels. They're rip and dip (like Pop Up Bagels in NYC) which I'm a huge fan of. Got the salt bagel, eggything (egg everything), and pumpernickel with scallion cream cheese. The cream cheese is incredible, super rich and kind of buttery. The eggything was really fluffy and definitely my favorite of the three, with plain salt a close second. I liked that it wasn't extremely salty. At night, we did have to wait but it was only 30 minutes for a party of five, and there are nice waiting areas to stay in the meantime or you can walk around Richmond. We sat inside but the outdoor seating looked nice so I definitely want to try that again on a nice day. Got the blood orange soda, which was refreshing and sweeter than the bottled ones you'd get at Trader Joe's. We shared two pizzas between 5 people which was plenty, they're Detroit style so pretty thick. The vodka margherita was pretty good but my favorite was the Sausage and peppers, which has these really cute spherical peppers that looked like cherry tomatoes at first, and is topped off with a creamy sauce on top. We also got a side of ranch which was very dill forward, it paired well with both pizzas.

    Veggie Burger
    Amani S.

First time trying and enjoyed every bite! I'm not a big red-meat eater so opted for the veggie patty since I didn't think my stomach could handle a double patty of the regular and I'm glad because the veggie burger was great but I don't think the potato salad was necessary. The brussels were the real star of the show however. They were perfectly cooked and had the perfect balance of flavors. Also opted to order the Jesus Juice cocktail that almost tasted like a cherry coke. The service was great, the vibe was perfect with great tunes. Definitely worth the wait and would love to come back and try their pizza.

Last year, we signed up for our first combo tour: Alcatraz + Haight walking tour. Due to the 2018 fires, our SF trip was severely affected, including the cancellation of the Alcatraz portion. The walking tour was still made available at our own risk given the horrible air quality, but SF on Tap staff were very flexible, refunded our Alcatraz portion, and still conducted a great walking tour led by Lina. The history we learned, the beer knowledge, and the breweries we visited was fantastic. By the end of the tour, our little group was happy, tipsy, and chatty. It was a great first experience! So this year, we went back to San Francisco and did the Alcatraz + Fisherman's Wharf walking tour. Weather was fantastic this time, and the process for getting our tickets plus the actual day of activites was seamless. Prepare for a long day of walking if you do the combo tour. Dress comfortably and wear very comfy shoes. We did the Alcatraz audio tour, which helps you cover the main portions of the site, but there is definitely more to explore, so don't anticipate being able to do it all when you have to be back on shore with time to spare for lunch plus arriving for the 2pm beer tour. So....plan your morning accordingly. After Alcatraz, we had lunch at Boudin at Pier 39 then took a 5min Lyft ride to Ghirardelli Square for the start of our Fisherman's Wharf beer tour. Our guide was Dylan. Dylan did a great job and took us on quite an adventure through Fisherman's Wharf and Little Italy area. Although the beers on this particular tour were not my favorite (except for the barley wine and sour at the end!), I appreciated deepening my knowledge of the neighborhood and of course....brewing! I also love the intimate nature of the tour, like when we get to the breweries / pubs, and there is already dedicated space for us to sit, enjoy, learn, and drink! Dylan did his best to personalize our beer options to our tastes, so that was much appreciated. At the end of the tour, Dylan provided some fantastic dinner recommendations, since the tours end by 6pm. Trust me, you will be hungry! Both Lina and Dylan provided us with memorable craft beer experiences. My boyfriend and I look forward to going 3 for 3 and doing the SoMA walking tour next year! We are true SF on Tap fans!! You won't regret booking with SF on Tap, especially if you want a personalized craft beer experience and want to learn about the city's rich history and the details of brewing.
