HAND CUT FRENCH FRIES - $5.35 - Blanched and Fried chipperbec potatoes.
    Tu-Anh N.

WHEN: Thur @4pm I wanted to come here at opening time for a few reasons: - PARKING: It's downtown so not sure how parking would be. But lucky for us, we found free parking just around the corner! When we left around 5pm, more opened up! I'm guessing it's because the auto repair shop was closing. - THE CROWD: This place is popular and there is usually a line. Though they have a great amount of seatings available (outdoors), but I prefer a space I don't feel like I have to menu ear so much around. - THE FISHWICH THAT SELLS OUT: I was told about this special fried fish sandwich that sells out. So in order to guarantee there will be one for me to order, gotta get there early! It's my first time, and here's what I had: THE FISHWICH - $14.50 Panko crusted rockfish, American cheese, Pickle, Shredded Cabbage, Tartar, Potato Bun. This is a limited supply item that is only available Wed-Sat until sellout. A friend shared it was amazing, but sadly I couldn't agree from one reason: This was bland. I love the softness of the potato bun, the crispy and hot pink-crusted textures, and the generous amount of tartar sauce. But I tasted nothing--just all sorts of texture. I owned up top it though and finished the entire thing. Was I satisfied? No, but my belly is full! THE DRIVE THRU - $10.50 American cheese, Schmalz onion, Pickle, Lettuce, tomato, Special Sauce, Sesame Bun. Overall decent burger, and I enjoyed it. Really can't say more without comparing it to SCOLARI'S but it's a solid burger. HAND CUT FRENCH FRIES - $5.35 Blanched and Fried chipperbec potatoes. I think I enjoyed these fries because they remind me of SCOLARI'S friends, heh. I was surprised I did not see o any of their merch for sale because I'm digging that carton character icon! The brewery it shared a space with has a decent amount of merch though!

The Drive Thru Burger is faaayerrr!!! Fire! It is stacked with American cheese, schmaltz onions, pickles, tomato, and a special sauce, all tucked into a soft sesame bun. Juicy, messy, and absolutely satisfying!!! The corn fritters were just okay, but the fries definitely made up for it--crispy, salty, and super snackable. Expect a line on a Friday night, but it moves at a decent pace. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available, though a few heat lamps outside would've made the experience even better.

Explored this modern area in Oakland and came across Lovelys. I was intrigued by the crowd sitting around the beer garden and decided to go check out this spot. This spot is connected with Two Pitchers Brewery and its honestly a really cool hangout spot. You can get your beer and your burgers/hotdogs all in one spot. Best part, they also have soft serve. We opted to get the hot chicken sandwich (very spicy btw) and the chili cheese hotdog. Both were tasty!! I recommend this place for your next hangout. The service was quick too!!

    3/28/26 FYI. Outdoor seating.

Quality/Quantity - We almost did NOT come today. After circling for parking 3+ times, I told the family if we don't find a space this last drive by, we will go to a different place for dinner and a different brewery! Got lucky and parked two blocks away. Lovely's restaurant is also here on the Two Pitchers Brewing premises. See pictures and other 5 star Yelp review. The food was amazing! I was worried when I first saw what my daughter and wife ordered as that was not my wife's usual type of food.. Corn Fritters - My order. The oil they fried this in was dark; I was worried that the oil was old...? But it tasted fresh and good. I would get this again, but prefer a lighter oil next time please. The Chili Willie - My wife's order?!?! And this was good. The jalapenos gave it the perfect kick. I told my wife I am here for the beer, and as light eaters I just wanted to share something with them. Classic Fried Chicken Sandwich - No surprise my daughter's order. Well she wanted your sold out Fish & Chips (which is weird because I think she ate that last night also...?). This was also made-to-order fresh! The chicken had a good crisp until the last bite and was moist inside! Fried perfectly. She also ordered Chili Cheese Fries with that; I guess that is the theme today. Lastly, the soft serve looked so good but too bad it would clash with my beer drinking, lol. To compliment my dinner, or the other way around, lol. Two Pitchers Brewing: 10 of their beers are on tap and the rest are guests' taps. So of course, I had to try their $3 Signature Lager which was too light for me. You basically get what you pay for. Next... Pale Ale - $7, now that's more like it! No IPA today, so I had to settle. My daughter got the Yard Bird, Strawberry Lemonade Beer; it suited her. Ready for my 3rd beer, when my daughter said she wanted to go home and party some more?!?! So I abided. Ambiance - Cool space. Lots of semi private spaces that you can rent. See pictures or their website. Very kid and dog friendly! Unisex restrooms with outside sinks, thank you! NO parking! So bad on a Saturday evening, that we almost did not come. Open 6 days a week. See pictures or their website. Closed on Mondays. Service - Counters service. For both Lovely's and the bar. The outdoor bar is WAY faster service than the inside bar, just an FYI. Same team, but more organized. Price - $49 + generous tip. Including a 3% operations fee/credit card fee, see the small print on the very bottom of the menu. Expensive, even for the Bay Area. But that is the price for quality. 20% gratuity for orders over $250. Owner Comment - Congrats to the building since 1919. Congrats on your success since 2021. Glad we were able to visit. Are you the same owners as Two Pitchers Brewing?

Coney island dog, hot chicken sandwich, the drive thru
    Christine B.

What's there to dislike? I feel like the Coney dog is my favorite chili cheese dog in the bay. I've been to the Oakland one and the SF one and every time I go I need to get a chili cheese dog. Hot chicken sandwich was also AMAZING. Stayed nice and crispy on my walk back home. It was just the right amount of dry spice too, top tier seasoning skills. No complaints on the burger either - just an ideal burger that you can stuff your face in. Fries are perfectly salty - the best accompaniment to this meal. It gets pretty crowded, but it's worth the wait to me. It's super nice sitting outdoors next to the brewery if it's not too chilly out. I hope I can come earlier to try the fish sando one day!

Yummmmmm their smash burger is fantastic! Messy but yumalish! Not a date type meal lol. Or maybe it is because you can see how real someone is when they try to eat this yummy burger without swallowing it whole bc it's that good! And the chili cheese fries are a yes and amen give me a second round!! Can't eat here every day unfortunately but a nice cheat treat! The ambience is great, cold in off season times as it is a warehouse vibe but just bring a jacket. Open environment with communal seating and very high ceilings, a large bar, outdoor seating with lighting at night and cool clientele. Definitely a cool chill hot spot. The service was great as well. The woman at Lovely's was so excited that it was my first time she gave me all the tips! My goddaughter got the ice cream swirl cone and loved it! It was very large! We will definitely be back! My godbaby wants to be a chef and loves doing Yelp reviews and did one while there because this is one of her fav Oakland spots. Thankful she hipped me to it! Parking, not so much, walk or Uber/Lyft/something! I'll for sure be back! Those homemade fries are everything! Perfect combo of seasoning, grass fed meat and just enough cheese. Delish! Well done folks! Hats off

Light dusting of spice on my hot chicken sandwich for the perfect "medium" spice level
    Karan K.

tldr: Lovely's lives up to the hype! I always get the Drive Thru Burger, and it is phenomenal. Everything from the perfectly cooked patty with those classic crispy, lacy edges, to the soft bun and the special sauce--it is the definition of what a smash burger should be. I've gone back at least 10 times for it ! Side note about their chicken sandwich that my partner orders all the time. She gets the spicy and most times it's very spicy. There have been a few times when it was (in my opinion) the perfect level, right between medium and hot, but that was an anomaly and most of the times it's just been very hot. Now for the reality check on a weekend evening: I got in line around 7:00 PM on a Saturday, and the wait was exactly what you should expect for a spot this popular. I waited for about 20 minutes just to place my order. While the line moves steadily, be prepared to practice patience! Update, 2 weeks later: I had a chat with them after visiting again and they were able to adjust the level of spice dust on my hot chicken sandwich to get it absolutely perfect for my taste

Smashburgers, beers, outdoor and indoor seating, kid friendly. For me the burger is solid but not the best but I like the vibe of the place.

WOW! The hype is definitely real at Lovely's. If you were thinking of trying, definitely come visit. They have communal seating outdoors & the brewery has seating inside as well. This is a family friendly spot which is cool. I suggest coming early if you want to avoid the long lines that start forming when It starts to get later in the day. However the line does go pretty fast! I ordered the drive thru and made it a double and oh my gosh it was packed with ingredients! Everything was fresh the meat was seasoned perfectly it was a solid burger. My boyfriend & I also ordered the Fish sandwich to share and it was a boujier better version of the fish filet from McDonalds. I'll definitely order that one again, all it needed was some hot sauce! My boyfriend ordered the Westerner and that burger was huge! We also got order of the chili cheese fries, it was ok, nothing crazy. All in all i'll definitely be back again!

The food was good, I've been wanting to come for a while now finally made our way down because The Teen and I were going to First Sunday at OMCA. It took a few laps around the block to find a parking space and almost gave up, but we didn't obviously. Counter service was good, there was a lot of people, but not too much to handle. Love the outdoor sitting space and the tunes that brought me back to the 80's. Me: The OG, corn fritters & water She: The chicken sandwich with swine & water Us: Fries The burger was OK surprisingly as long as I've been wanting to come here I was hoping for more, the fries could've been cooked just a minute and a half more, the fritters though stole the show. The Teen enjoyed the chicken sandwich, but got a little tummy ache later.. I might go back to try the cheese fries, but only if I could find parking immediately. I'm giving this place 3 yumms up and I hope to come back!

    Glenda B.

Absolutely love Lovely's! We've been here many times and even better it's attached to Two Pitcher's Brewing (because what goes better with burgers than beers). The burgers are always solid! It's a tasty smash burger and some different options for toppings. My favorite is always The Westerner (bbq sauced - used to have onion rings but now it's crispy shallots) or the Drive Through (more classic burger toppings). The only con could be the long line for the food (but pro tip, have a friend grab you a beer while you wait). Tried the corn fritters for the first time recently and they were also bomb. I got the hot dog for my son which was also good, but I'd say the burgers is where it's at/what Lovely's is known for. The chicken sandos are also good! There's plenty of outdoor seating and indoor though it can get really crowded on Friday's and weekends. Only street parking. Highly recommend coming here for a chill city brewery vibe or popular for happy hour!

This was the perfect lunch after a long walk around lake Merit! I ordered the hot chicken and it was so good! The fried chicken was perfectly tender, not dried out at all. And the fry on it was light and crispy and didn't taste greasy. It was definitely spicy, but well within my spice tolerance. Flavorful without being punishing. The slaw was a perfect counterpoint. This sandwich was perfect, I just wish it was a larger serving since it was $15. The boyfriend ordered the drive thru and added on bacon. I thought it was a good burger, but I liked my fried chicken sandwich more. Boyfriend also thought the sandwich was better. It just had more texture and flavor. We ordered fries with the works and omg im so glad we ordered it. That was the best cheese sauce I've had all year! The service was nice. When I went to pick up my order they were totally cool about giving me extra napkins and ketchup. I liked the outdoor beer garden seating and the line of craft booths. It felt like a vibrant market and was just a nice place to enjoy good food. I was lucky enough to score a table in the shade, which probably made all the difference. I'll definitely come back sometime and order two hot chicken sandwiches when I do!

Classic burger with a Two Pitchers brew
    Alyson C.

Since moving to Oakland, we've been told numerous times that this place is a staple... almost quintessentially the Town. It's a small spot, so when we first tried going and driving there, it was a bust. Definitely don't expect great parking, and take public transit if possible. The line was long to get burgers, but the great part is that you can grab a beer with your friend and drink in line! Two Pitchers had great brews to pair with the burgers, and though we waited about an hour in line (on a Friday night), we got our burgers super quick after ordering. That smash burger is incomparable. Everyone was right -- it was absolutely delectable and just the perfect greasy little thing for a beer + burger night. I'm coming back for sure!

Parking is a bit difficult but we managed to find street parking a block away. Wasn't too crowded and there was plenty of seating inside. You order first and you find a table to sit, and they bring out the food to you. Self serve water is available. The food came out pretty quick! Thoughts: - Lobster roll (classic) was delicious! Generous amount of lobster. Would definitely get this again. Chips weren't too great though. - Fried shrimp basket was nice. Shrimp was crispy and tasty. Fries were also very crispy and flavorful. The sauces go well with the shrimp/fries. Coleslaw isn't the best though. - The crab nachos were surprisingly good. A nice cheese sauce combo with pico/avocado crema and a good amount of crab. - Garlic noodles were fine, nothing standout about them. - Mix and match basket with catfish, cod, and calamari (not pictured): Catfish was solid (would highly recommend, one of the favorites of the meal!), but would pass on the cod and calamari - a bit dry/fishy. Would recommend for a casual spot for seafood and a nice view!

First off, this place is one the water on Jack London Square - which is pretty much in a death…read morespiral. The once thriving and bustling go-to spot is a mere shadow of what it once was. Anyone remember the Jack London Village that they tore down to build this end of the development? Anyways - this is a fast casual type spot, where you order from the counter, place the little number sign on your table and wait for it to be delivered. The menu is your standard seafood joint by the water type, with all the usual suspects represented. Fried fish, shrimp, chowder, seafood pastas--if you've ever been to a seaside seafood joint, chances are good that the menu here is exactly like the one you remember seeing at the countless other places like this one. I noticed right off the bat that their pricing structure was on the high side - with a $17 burger and fries option, with the bulk of the fried seafood options in the $22-25 range. A cheaper choice might be the $16 fish tacos (two of them) but I kind of draw the line at paying $8 for a single taco. Our table ordered a few of the fried options plus a few soda beverages. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and I noticed that the silver metal trays that the food comes on is a bit on the small side, especially considering the prices for each dish. The fried shrimp dish was a big scoop of mega-salty french fries, and 3 average sized deep fried shrimp. Yes - 3 as in 1, 2, 3. That's what - $7+ a shrimp? The two fried fish platters weren't much better portion-wise. My deep fried cod consisted of three modest sized fish-fingers, and not the single luscious chunk of perfectly fried cod I had imagined in my head when ordering. They were fine - but very average and nothing that stood out as life-changing or something to write home about. As mentioned earlier, they must be employing the Little Rascals method where they over salt everything, in hopes that you'll order another beverage to wash down the copious mounts of sodium (I figure about 4+ days worth). The fried catfish platter that rounded out our order was more of the same - thin meager portions of fish on a large bed of mega-salted fries. Small plastic containers of generic pre-made tartar sauce and coleslaw can with each platter. The coleslaw was fine - just very forgettable and perhaps a tad on the flavorless/watery side. All said, was it okay? Yes. Was it anything outstanding that I'd crave and plan my return to have again? No. It is in line with touristy by-the-Sea seafood places that charge an extra couple of bucks because they're "on the water"? Pretty much. You're paying for the view and the 'scene' of sitting on the patio out front to people watch, and not for the food. I kind of hate these places and normally try my best to stay away from them, but every once in awhile, you gotta put on your tourist hat and join the mindless flock. A meager 2 stars outta 5 from me. Instead, I'd stroll around this area on a Sunday when they hold the farmer's market (again - is not what it used to be) and then drive through the tube to Alameda where great dining spots are numerous on Park Street. You can stop at Crab Cove and Crown Beach on the way, for more touristy sightseeing.

Date: 3/27/2026 Time: 7:25 PM 68° Cool…read more My male companion asked where I wanted to have dinner this evening. I had a taste for Chilean sea bass. A search on this website resulted in Marica having it on their menu. He booked a 7:30 PM reservation for two. We arrived early. What started out as a not too pleasant experience for us was the attitude of the guy who greeted us when we entered the restaurant. Attitude bordered on rudeness (3 star). We somewhat tolerated it, not knowing what to expect next. The restaurant was filled with diners, and the only available seating was not far from the front door. Oh, the chill was in the air, and my not wearing a sweater and/or light jacket to stay warm had me shivering. I had to brave the element (LOL). Since there was no Chilean sea bass on their daily special menu, it took a little longer for my companion and I to peruse the menu, and decide what entrees we were willing to have. Usually I would order an Arnold Palmer as a beverage; however, this time I decided to be adventurous - reisling peach spritz please - to whet my appetite. My date had the Temescal pilsner. Eats: Grilled salmon arange ginger saffron blanc beurre, roasted potatoes and vegetables. Korean short ribs, honey garlic gochujang marinade, mashed potatoes and vegetables. Our meals were on point and bomb-diggity delicious. The arange ginger saffron was perfect with the carrot. It reminded me of glazed carrots. The green beans were fresh and not overcooked. Ooh, the Korean pork ribs were tender and that sauce was sweet and had a subtle kick of spiciness. (Definitely a perfect complement for the pork ribs.) I have to admit the chef knew how to burn. Food tasted so good that figuratively speaking y'all gotta slap the cook and his mama. Ambiance: Comfy and casual. Despite the dining area is small, still it is a great restaurant for dining on a Friday evening. From my perspective and vivid imagination with the indoor lighting, it exuded a romantic atmosphere. Only in my mind I can hear soft jazz in the background. What convinced me to give Marica a 5 star rating? It was none other than Enriqueta, our waitress. She was pleasant, attentive and so accommodating. The chef lost our order ticket; thus, the wait time for our meal took a bit longer than we anticipated. She came to the rescue and comped us with dessert - chocolate souffle with homemade vanilla ice cream. It certainly was a gesture of kindness to have my date and me smiling from ear to ear. Return visit? Yes, mos def...not the rapper for Chilean sea bass. Enriqueta said I can always call to find out what their daily special is.

When we walked in, we were greeted with an awkward look, which immediately made the experience feel a little uncomfortable. We were seated with menus and waited about 10 minutes without anyone coming by to take a drink order. I completely understand that staff may be busy attending other guests, so I tried to be patient. Since it felt a little stuffy inside, I kindly asked if we could sit outside, and they said yes. After moving outside, we waited another 10+ minutes and still no one checked in on us. Meanwhile, I could hear servers laughing and chatting nearby while we continued to be overlooked, so we ultimately decided to leave. I was genuinely excited to try this place, so the experience was disappointing.

They were running a special with a winery, buy a carafe of wine, get a dozen oysters for a $1 each. I mention it because it was a good deal. Unfortunately for me, no alcohol. I still had the oysters though. They served me 1/2 East Coast and 1/2 West Coast. For once, my beloved Miyagis were the bigger oyster. Delicious! Instead of wine, I had a Shirley Temple. They make a good one. For my main, I had the lobster roll. They do it with mayonnaise and celery. It was good, but I prefer my naked with butter. Wish that was an option. I chose to splurge and get the Cesar salad on the side. It was almost delicate, with finely shredded cheese and light dressing. I wish there was more dressing to stand up to the romaine. Maybe a few more croutons, too. For dessert, I tried the creme brulee. It was nice and creamy with lots of fresh fruit on top. I only ate half. Be aware, the serving size is generous. You and a friend could easily share. The space itself is nice. It's modern and bright with jwarm wood and jaz playing in the background. There is seating at the bar, and a few outdoor tables in addition to the main room. I enjoyed my experience. If I had a criticism, it's that I wished for one or two more mains. They really have what I consider a grazing menu. It's not a bad thing, just something to consider. Only go if you love seafood. They have the obligatory burger, but not much else. I give them a solid 3.5. Recommended.

I really like how they let you build your seafood experience exactly how you want it, from the type of seafood to the seasoning and spice level. The only thing was I think the spice level could've been kicked up a notch. Our table ordered a mix of oysters, garlic noodles, Cajun fries, shrimp, crawfish, mussels, which came with corn, potatoes, sausage and hard boiled egg! The seafood was fresh and the sauce coated everything nicely without being overwhelmingly salty, and the corn and potatoes soaked up all the seasoning. All for a very reasonable price if you get the combo, which comes in 3 different tiers! The oysters were a standout--fresh, briny & I loved all the different sauces like horse radish and cocktail on the side. I do wish the fries were a bit more crispy and could've gone heavier with the Cajun seasoning, but that's personal preference. The atmosphere is casual, lively, and perfect for big groups. If you're looking for a customizable seafood boil with fresh oysters, fun drinks, and plenty of options to build your ideal meal, Rockin Crawfish is definitely worth a visit

Based on that conversation, I expected fresh live crawfish, which was available Tuesday when I ordered from DoorDash the previous time. After I got home and opened my order this time. it was clear that the crawfish had been frozen. If the restaurant serves frozen crawfish, that's fine, but customers should be given accurate information when they ask directly about the product right? I feel misled because I relied on what I was told when making my purchase. Transparency is important, and I hope the restaurant does a better job communicating with customers about whether their crawfish are live or previously frozen. VERY DISHONEST BUSINESS SMH.

No one greeted us. Wasn't sure where to go. Went to the register. Waited a minute for someone to come out. Ordered the clam chowder, dozen oysters and fish & chips with a glass of mystery orange wine. Decided to sit outside in the back patio. Table was dirty from previous guest which usually doesn't bother me be ut little things started adding up. Service took a while. Oysters came out first. 20 min. They were fresh and delicious. Just enough to get the palette opened up. $46 though? Way overpriced but was willing to overlook since it is Mother's Day. Next up - clam chowder, 10 min after they took the tray for the oysters. Smallest bowl I ever saw. Flavor was good. Temperature was luke warm. Broth was thin. $10. Not worth it. Last was the fish and chips. 10 min after picking up the chowder bowl. Portion looked good enough to make up for the small clam chowder, except it was under seasoned. Fish texture was a bit dry too. Fries were meh. Between the overall vibe...the overpriced items...the time between dishes...and the lack of flavor, I will continue my search for an oyster spot in this neighborhood.

So, try to grab a table outside. Service is always superb here - staff is very attentive. You can't go wrong w anything. Char grilled oysters (split 50/50 between jalepeño and chipotle bourbon) are a must. They come out piping hot and are massive. Both were fantastic. Ambiance: 3/5 - ambiance is just okay. It's right on the water so a nice view from the outdoor seating but nothing particularly outstanding about the restaurant itself in terms of decor or architecture. Service: 1.5/5 - huge miss. For the prices on this menu, I would expect service to be a lot better. We waited in line to be sat (no waiting list, just an old school line) and it took only 10 minutes or so to be sat but it was very bizarre, we were a party of 2 ready to be sat & she took the couple behind us and sat them first. No particular reasoning given. The host seemed to really not care about much. From there, service was odd. Our server didn't introduce herself and just asked us what we wanted. Again, not a necessity but you would think for somewhere you're paying $30+ per plate, service would be a bit better. An oyster holder was delivered to our table after we had already finished oysters. Glass was broken near our table and hastily swept up. Bussers were dropping silverware right next to our table. Again, just wasn't great ambiance or service. The food is good but there are other good restaurants in San Francisco. I would really only come here again with low service expectations.
