Cinemart is a full-service movie theater showing all the latest releases just like any major chain. Ticket prices are also far more reasonable than chain theaters. As of May 2026, a regular ticket is $13 compared to $22 at Regal UA Midway on Queens Blvd. You can buy tickets and pick your seats online. Concessions are similarly well-priced, at $15 for a large popcorn and drink. The popcorn was fresh and not overly salty, and they have a melted butter dispenser. The leather seats are comfortable and spacious, and the theater felt very clean and well-maintained compared to some of the chain theaters I've been to. No popcorn or trash scattered over the floors and seats. Overall, Cinemart is a great place to see a new movie, support a local business, and save money while still getting a high-quality experience.

A Local Legend: Why Cinemart Cinemas is the Heart of Forest Hills…read moreIf you're tired of the soul-less, overpriced experience of "Big Cinema," Cinemart Cinemas in Forest Hills is the antidote. As the oldest continuously operated theater in Queens, it manages a rare feat: it feels like a step back in time without actually feeling dated. Here's why this independent gem remains a neighborhood favorite: The Perfect Blend of Old & New Originally a single-screen venue, the Cinemart has evolved into a modern five-screen multiplex while keeping its historic soul intact. You get the neighborhood "mom-and-pop" vibe the moment you walk in, but you aren't sacrificing modern comforts to get it. The Seating: Don't let the "historic" label fool you. The theaters are packed with plush reclining seats that rival (and often beat) the major chains. The Atmosphere: The cafe lounge area adds a touch of class, making it a great spot to decompress before or after a film. Unbeatable Value In an era where a night at the movies can feel like a car payment, Cinemart keeps it accessible. Their pricing is famously fair, but the real "crowd-pleaser" is their free popcorn promotions. Depending on the day or the deal, getting a fresh bucket of popcorn included with your ticket is a throwback to a time when theaters actually wanted you to come back next week. What's Playing? One of the best things about Cinemart is its eclectic programming. You'll find: Current Blockbusters: The big hits everyone is talking about. Second-Run Gems: Caught a movie a few weeks late? They often host films that have finished their run at larger theaters, giving you one last chance to see them on the big screen. Why It Matters Cinemart isn't just a place to watch a movie; it's a piece of Queens' history. Supporting this theater means supporting independent cinema and a local landmark that has survived decades of industry shifts. Pro Tip: Check their schedule mid-week! That's often when you'll find their best "ticket + popcorn" bundles, making it the most affordable date night or family outing in the borough. The Verdict: If you want luxury comfort, nostalgic charm, and prices that don't make you flinch, Cinemart Cinemas is the best ticket in town.

We did arrive to see Purple Disco Machine and unfortunately we didn't know the set list earlier so we were about 2 hours early. The rooftop and venue catered to quite a young group of people tonight; however, they appeared to be well- mannered and surprisingly not on their phones. This was refreshing. We grabbed a taco at the food truck before we entered because you can't leave after you enter. Hung out and waited for the deejay. The set was very good. A lot of dancing. By this time, 230a.m. the bathrooms were disgusting. All non gender. But filthy. They should have someone do a sweep every 30 minutes; especially when they have a sold out show.. outside of that, pretty special place in Brooklyn. P.s. rooftop bartenders tonight need a class in customer service. And maybe a smile once awhile.

Nice and spacious rooftop. Nice sunset and decent view. I probably wouldn't go back because I literally felt like a geriatric guest compared to the crowd LOL and the music really was not my vibe. Mostly techno/dancehall.

Driven by curiosity, we took a trip to check it out. Google Maps led us to the general complex, where we passed a colorful parking garage and a Hyatt hotel--but we saw no signs for the casino. We parked in the next lot after the hotel, where we spotted the metro station and a skywalk leading toward what we assumed had to be the casino. Sure enough, we found a small sign pointing to the casino entrance, but parked right in front of the entrance was a massive dumpster. Safe to say, my first impression was literally "dumpy!" It was early in the morning but a Saturday nonetheless. The place appeared deserted. We had to go through the security to get to the gaming area. Once inside, it was clear they heavily cater to a Chinese-speaking clientele, as evidenced by the bilingual signage and many of the guests roaming the floor. The casino is entirely machine-operated; I didn't see a single live dealer. Even the roulette tables, where multiple people were placing bets together, were completely automated. On the bright side, my wife won $12 on a slot machine within five spins, so there is a non-zero chance of winning! UPDATE: As pointed out by the business, live table games are located on the 3rd floor which we weren't aware of. Will have to check it out next time. We stopped by the Genting Rewards counter to register for new loyalty cards. The line wasn't long, and the service was perfectly fine with no red flags. While waiting, I learned they offer free shuttles between this NYC location and their Catskills resort--which is a 3 hour ride! I'm not entirely sure why that exists or how popular it is, but it's an option. The food court, however, was pathetic. The signage was misleading, directing us toward the parking garage instead of the down escalators. Once we found it, there were only four stalls, a Starbucks, and a single restaurant tucked behind it. It was a far cry from the spectacular food scene we experienced in Las Vegas. Overall, the vibe felt a bit like the early days of the American Dream mall--appearing somewhat doomed. Hopefully, they will finish renovating and start drawing larger crowds, as I never like to see a business fail.
