First of all, The place has a nice ambiance, but it does not go hand and hand with how good the food or service is. Secondly, we were the second table in this establishment with a table of 4, the other was a table of 2. We started off with hushpuppies with crawfish. Half were burnt and I made a comment to the waitress about it, and her response was "they have tested out the fryer and changed the oil and it comes out that way-- it isn't burnt" well I beg to differ. Half were black and definitely tasted burnt. My friend bit the bullet and ate the burnt ones because this restaurant didn't have the gall to do the right thing and just replace the burnt ones. My friend and I ordered whole fish: yellowtail and was told it came with both heirloom tomato salad and potatoes, waitress was wrong again. While it's a bit of a misadvertisement and inadequate knowledge of what's *actually on the menu*, she made up for it but getting us a side of potatoes. Now, the yellowtail looked good, but it wasn't fully cooked through to the bone. Now, if you'd want to justify that it's fine, then that's just an opinion I don't agree with. The flesh of the fish that we both ate were cooked and good, but once you start getting towards the bone, it became soft to raw. Overall it wasn't that great but at least the good bits (about 70% of the fish) were edible. Also, my wife got the shrimp and grits. The collard greens seeped into the sauce of the shrimp and grits and the bitterness was overwhelming and the entire entree was underwhelming. Shrimp tacos were good, but pieces were big. Bottom line: I would not dine at this establishment in the future. Reviews from previous foodies felt misleading and so do pictures. As someone who has been a waiter for 6 years, helping family friends open up their restaurants, and a son of a fish purveyor, the waitress and the food was must left to be desired.

Everything was awesome! Service was attentive and friendly! Chef Bear is great, we wish to come back

Low Tide is our go-to spot whenever we are in town and we consistently have a fantastic experience. This trip we had a small group with us and everyone was happy - from the meals to the atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious--every dish was fresh, and flavorful. The service is impressive, even as busy as they are, being friendly, attentive, and always makes us feel right at home. The owners are on site and super friendly. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for great food and a casual atmosphere.

    Fish tacos?

The warning sign should have been the printer on the table with boxes of office supplies on the only table in the bar. Poor service and even worse food. Half of our table couldn't even eat their meals because of how bad the fish was. I'm not going to waste my time writing everything out but I'll at least describe the fish tacos. Corn tortillas that weren't even warmed up much less grilled. Just bland soggy tortillas with really sad fish that I think may have been just sitting in a steam pan in the kitchen. No flavor other than the taste of bad fish with cumin cover up. I was hoping I could at least eat the fries to not leave hungry but they were stale. The service was bad as well. It's obvious there is no front of the house management as the service staff wasn't trained in even the basics. $112 for this experience for a few beers, fish tacos, and hush puppies.. Currently headed to another restaurant to try again

We got the tide burger and fries and the mahi mahi tacos and fries. All of it was really good. The fries were average and slightly cold. However, they were busy when we arrived with large parties and it took a little while to get our food. We chose to sit outside. We were alone outside and the table next to us didn't get cleaned for 30 minutes. The servers came to clean it, and it appeared they were arguing. Again, they were busy when we got here so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Over all my belly got full so I'm happy. Total was $54 before tip.

The food is good and the location is conveniently close to the Hampton Inn where we're staying, so we ate here a couple of times during our vacation, once for lunch take out and once eating in the dining room for dinner. The lunch experience was good. Delicious burgers, fries, and fish tacos. Ask for the kids menu if you're calling in your order since it's not posted online. When we dined in everything was clean and staff were wearing masks and distancing customers. The drunken goat pasta was tasty. There was something that made the dining experience disappointing though. The menu inside the restaurant listed dinner prices about 50% higher than the menu posted on their website! That was an unpleasant surprise that we didn't notice until after we got our food. I'm posting the real dinner menu here so others won't be mislead.

Blackened catch of the day, roasted vegetables and potatoes.

Everything I've tried has been delicious and worth the trip. The wait times can definitely be long, especially when they're busy. I do wish they had a better system for letting customers know when their order is ready. An order screen showing the numbers that are in progress and ready would make a huge difference. It can be difficult to hear or know when your number is called. That said, the food is absolutely worth the wait. Seating can also be competitive, but it's worth fighting for a picnic table and enjoying your bagel outside. If you're in Corolla, this is a must-visit.

As you walk in you note the feel of it being a converted diner made to look like a country place. You grab your own menu, seat yourself, and walk up to the bar/register when ready to order. If the first time, you need a minute to get your bearings. Food ordered (3% fee is not using the cash "discount" FYI, pretty common around here and absurd given these OBX prices). Drinks are self serve. Some coke products and excellent tea. This was the end of breakfast around 10:30/11, so it was empty. Service was pretty quick. (they bring it to the table). I thought the breakfast pricing was fair. Shrimp and grits for $12, etc. Especially for the portion sizes. Two things I didn't care for. -The ceilling tiles were crazy dirty and stained and the flor light bulbs were uncovered. -The shrimp and grits needs a re-do. It's huge, with a base of grits, ladels of bacon gravy, and about 5 shrimp and cheddar cheese. It's more like a shrimp, grits, gravy, cheese casserole. I would have much rather had a base of grits, the gravy scooped in the middle with shrimp stuck in it, and topped with cheese. Even with all that you'd think there would be flavor. It was kind of bland minus the occasionally greasy/burnt bacon piece. Also, the shrimp were flavorful but over-cooked and tail on, which is traditional--but in the casserole were a pain in the butt to get the tail off/cut. I know they can do good flavors and plates. My spouse's chicken biscut...omg the hand-breaded chicken was fantastic! My son's baked apples were to die for. You Philly visitors will be happy to see scrapples on the menu - yuck. All in, I would repeat and stick to chicken and the chicken coop.

Came back Saturday with five friends on our last night in the Outer Banks and it turned into one of the most insulting meals I've ever paid for. The broken plate sent Three different waiters at different points. Nobody owned the table. Nobody knew what was happening. We ordered the jerk chicken. They called it a "whole chicken." It was a half chicken. Sixty dollars for half a chicken that arrived cold. The rice was raw--hard, crunchy, undercooked garbage. The beans? One bean. One. The rest of the plates were cold too. Everything. They said they'd take 20% off. They took five dollars. Then they made it worse: that "discount" came out of the waitress's tip. The restaurant didn't eat the cost. They penalized the only decent person there and kept the money themselves. The waitress took an $80 hit on a $400 bill. The manager stood there and lied about it. Straight-faced. A lying sack of crap who would rather steal from her own staff than admit they served cold, incomplete, overpriced food and then shorted the bill. I walked out. I should have done it sooner. No wonder the place was empty on a Saturday night in the Outer Banks. People already know. There are dozens of better restaurants here. Go to any of them. Do not give this place your money, your time, or your last night of vacation. They'll serve you cold half-portions, undercook the sides, then take it out of the waitress who actually tried.
