Ate dinner here the other night. Excellent service, extremely clean - everyone was taking extra sanitation precautions due to COVID-19, good menu selection. We ordered the ribs and crab legs. I really liked the flavor of the crab legs. Typically, I see crab legs done in a dry rub (something Old Bay based), but these came in a really good, spicy wet glaze. Delicious. The legs were crispy outside and perfectly done inside The ribs were also very good and I liked the side dishes - the French Fries were seasoned nicely. My only complaint, if I had to make one, is there is no view. I wish it felt more beachy and less shopping mall-ish. I will definitely return. read more

Oh my, you get your monies worth of large portions of really good tasting food. The batter on the fried shrimp is light and good. The crawfish hush puppies are good and the sauce adds to the flavor profile nicely. The catfish sandwich is really good and comes with a good helping of fries. Megan was a super sweet server. Unfortunately, I have to give this a bad review because of the money we spent. I am generally very forgiving, but when you pay $170 for a family of 4, I expect average or better for all aspects of service. Let me start with the good. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was fine. It was adequately furnished with some fun, appealing decorations. It was in a strip mall, and so I thought they made good use of what they had available. I also liked the table spacing in the restaurant. They didn't pack you in like sardines. The bar was small but nice and clean - good beer and drink selections. The place was clean and safe. Now for the bad. Even though we got seated early (still took about 30 minutes), we waited almost an hour more to get our main entrees. We got there shortly after 6pm, and didn't the entrees until after 8pm. Since most of the tables were empty at that point, I didn't understand why it was taking so long. The server was nice and friendly, and took good care of us (I still tipped her 20%). However, something was wrong in the kitchen. The main problem was the shrimp and grits. We had two orders ($30 each), and this was maybe the worst food we've ever had. It was terribly soupy with hardly any grits. The shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. I honestly think something happened in the kitchen, which explains the the late food and terrible entree. The other two dishes (fish tacos and salmon) were fine, although the tortillas were stale. The place has a lot of upside...but you simply can't charge these prices for such bad food. The staff was very gracious to accommodate our party of 5 without reservations and so we were very happy All of the dishes we ordered to include the: PB&J Pork Belly with Shrimp; Brisket burger; Drunken Ravioli; Fish Tacos and Seared Ahi with Mango salsa special, were delicious. The shrimp and grits, which cost $29, unfortunately were not edible, actually awful, tasted almost rancid. Mentioned this to waitstaff but not offered anything to replace it with nor offered to remove the item from our bill and felt this wasn't good customer service. Staff was over the top helpful and friendly- they're the reason for 3 stars instead of 2. They didn't offer any ketchup, which we realized when we got back to the beach. But not a major issue- fries weren't that great anyway. Fish tacos were very good, not great. They skimped on the sauce, but it was still fairly moist. Fried flounder was a very big portion and was good- not great. No sauce at all there (tarter or otherwise). If you're ordering takeout, recommend placing your order and then waiting outside with a beer from the brewery two doors down. I hesitated writing this review for fear of bringing more people to the restaurant, because we finally found a spot without the ridiculous wait like other restaurants in the area, and the food is out of this world...and the staff are all super friendly. Those complaining about waiting for a drink clearly let that spoil a wonderful culinary experience. We started with the PB&J Pork Belly and Shrimp appetizer, which was fantastic! I meant to take a picture before we ate it, because the presentation was so nice...but my appetite took priority and we ate it before we could snap a photo. The pork belly and shrimp were great, and the slaw was an added bonus to the dish. I give this appetizer two thumbs up! Then came the entrees...we had the crab cakes and the jerk burger, which had as much pulled pork on the top as it did hamburger. I didn't eat this dish, but it looked quite tasty. The crab cakes were probably the best in the area, and the remoulade sauce on top was a nice touch. The roasted potatoes were seasoned to perfection, and the asparagus was tender and flavorful. On the way in we noticed the pie counter, and I saw the cookie sandwiches online, so we knew dessert was a must! Ohhhh the dessert. We had the pecan pie, and two different ice cream cookies. The food was filling, and quite honestly we didn't have much room left for more food...but how can anyone pass up dessert that looks like that?! We were not disappointed. To be quite honest, the pecan pie at this restaurant might be the best pecan pie I've ever had. The pecans tasted like they may have had cinnamon and sugar on them, and the filling was perfect. The chocolate on chocolate ice cream cookie sandwich was rich and delicious, as was the chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. On the last night of our vacation we wanted a dinner to remember. Low Tide delivered! We arrived 15 minutes before the dinner menu officially started, but they brought it on. Started with three appetizers: The salt cooked shrimp cocktail, tuna tartare, and mussels blue cheese collard greens and bacon. All were hot and amazing! For our entrees I had the bacon wrapped scallops special, and my wife had the red snapper special, both were served with roasted red bliss and veg of the day. The veg of the day was sautéed south's and zucchini, cooked perfectly! Our girls had the fried shrimp basket and the pan seared magi fish tacos. They were very happy with their meals. Came in on a Sunday night with a party of nine. All members of the party have been here before and the expectations were high. There is a sign in the window asking for forgiveness for slower service as they are short staffed, taking us back to the Covid years. Service to start was somewhat slow as the drink order took a little bit to fill even though 4/9 patrons ordered water. The lone appetizer of chicken wings came out rather quickly and was enjoyed be all. As stated earlier expectations were high for the entrees. On person in the party ordered the shrimp and grits. The andouille sausage was a nice surprise but the abundance of sauce in the dish made it almost jambalaya-esque and the fried pork belly's left something to be desired. The blackened chicken on the salad was tough to eat but overall the salad was tasty and fresh. The burger was juicy and the fries had a nice seasoning on them. Now for the meat of this review. Multiple members of the party came for the fried green tomato sandwiches with bacon and pimento cheese. These are a fan favorite and did. It disappoint. The bacon was thick and crispy. The pimento perfectly melted with a nice crispy sourdough bread. To top it off some of us got the sandwich with a fried chicken on top. The chicken was tasty but was a bit overwhelming for some at the table as the pimento and fried green tomatoes were the stars of the show. Well, this is my first trip to the outer banks. So far this is the best place that we have eaten. The servers are friendly and patient. My family ate here twice. One for dinner and once for dessert. It can be pricey, but what isn't in the outer banks. I had the fried fish plate with flounder. The fries were good and the fish was fried to perfection. Now, the slaw was just ok. I was not a fan. It is vinegar-y. However, everything else we had was good. The crab cakes were good. The amount of crab you get in an order is great and the freshness is also another plus. The hush puppies were good. When we came back for dessert we were again impressed. The key lime pie is tasty and so was the brownie cheesecake. My father-in-law reported that cookie cake was good. Our group of 8 (7 adults and 1 child) had dinner at Low Tide on a Sunday night. Called earlier in the day and reserved a table. Food was very good. I had the catch of the day which was a blackened RedDrum with caramelized peaches and pecans. Perfectly cooked fish, sweet and spicy, just excellent. Others in the group had lobster rolls and ribs. They were also able to accommodate the vegan in our group with a vegan item from their lunch menu. Only knock was that the ribs came out about ten minutes after the other entrees. Had a 6:30 reservation on 7/14 and they marked it for 6 and gave our table away, even though we were not he grounds and tried to inquire about our reservation at 6:10.They used an excuse of being understaffed but quite honestly it just looked like a mismanaged group of people. The waitresses were inappropriately rude when asked about rectifying the problem. Even snapped at my wife when she asked about our table they said was being set up and would be ready shortly. After a 30 minute added wait, she asked how much longer and the waitress rudely snapped they were doing their best and we're under staffed. A regular take out patron said it was a regular excuse and it was too bad since their food was pretty good. We will never find out. Left after the rudeness and will never return. No manager was visible and that should concern patrons. He or she let the waitress staff deal with the many disgruntled patrons that evening. If you can't manage a restaurant properly it doesn't matter if your food is good. I gave one star but really a zero is in order for service. Can't rate the food. This hinders their ability to serve any other customers, like our family, as their was a group of 20 there at the same time we were last night. Drinks were not refilled in a timely manner, our meals were served cold, we paid $200 and spent 2 hours there with a restless son with special needs. A hidden gem- tucked away, low tide doesn't appear from the street. We came for the first time last year (2019), and we had a great time and great food. A year later, nothing's changed (in a good way!)- excellent food and good service. The "Drunken Goat" pasta was exquisite- a delightful surprise, since so many seafood pastas are too watery or too fishy- by contrast, this pasta's combination of lobster, crab meat, and shrimp with the not-too-heavy-goat cheese sauce was impeccable. The fried flounder and fries were excellent- I was going to ask for tartar sauce but quickly realized it stood superbly without anything but a lemon squeeze. This is all to say: go!! read more
