Love the beer selection here and the sausages are Amazing!!!

My Favorite bar in town! The customer service is great. The Sunday brunch menu is simple but amazing! If you haven't tried brunch on the weekends I can only recommend that you try it, they make the best french toast and eggs Benedict I've ever had. The beer selection is widespread, mostly German beers I've never heard of. The bartender that served me was a wealth of knowledge, I tried the Belgian triple karmeliet and it was very good. I've come here for brunch and for drinks, so I will review both. Went brunch today, and it was pretty good. I got the farmer's market scramble, which had mushrooms, caramelized onions and corn. It had a great earthy flavor, but was balanced out by the corn's sweetness. The eggs weren't overcooked, which is important with a scramble. My friend got the benedict, which he really enjoyed, but his eggs were overcooked. He said he would still order it again, but that it would have been much better if the eggs had a runny yolk, like they should. The service was pretty slow, but that may be related to the farmers market taking over that block. I usually head here on Tuesdays for Le Twist. It's always a great time, not too crowded and good music. Any time they have had live music it has been top notch, and I've been introduced to many awesome local artists through this night. That being said, the drinks are PRICEY and I will never, ever use a credit or debit card here again. I have seen them completely screw up other people's credit card charges (a friend ordered a $4 drink and was charged $16) and I've had them mess up mine as well. Usually it's small amounts (it's happened multiple times), but there was an occasion on which I had three charges show up totaling almost $70, $50 of which were not supposed to be there. That is a huge, huge problem for me, and has led to me avoiding the place a few times, because I didn't have cash on me. It's been a while since I've used a card there, so they may have resolved this issue, but I'm not looking to find out the hard way! My husband and I went for his birthday with his brother and sister in law. We ordered a sausage board with 6 different links. The chicken was the best with the lamb as a close second. The board includes different toppings and dipping sauces which complement the flavors in the sausage. Amazing! The men ordered beers and were impressed with the selection. Overall, great ambiance. Lots of hipsters but no rowdiness. We agree it's one of the best restaurants we've had in awhile. read more

LOWBRAU is one of my go-to spots on the weekends, particularly Saturday mornings. They have an extensive beer selection and staff can always make good recommendations. Plus, they typically have tasty choices on the rotating drafts. The midtown market is right alongside on Saturdays, and you can have a nice brunch on the patio with a mix of Midtown denizens and vistors. My fave is the breakfast sandwich - simple but good, and I often include either a beer or a Bloody Mary. It's one of the nicer patios in Midtown, staff are friendly, and they let you hang out and enjoy the day. Sausages, particularly Bratwurst, are worth a try as well. read more

Yum! Always on my list of places to eat when I visit Sacramento. Good selection of beer, and their chicken sausages with bier cheese are the best I've tasted. Delicious food, highly recommend the crispy duck fat fries. Love the decor too. Only downside is the service can be a little slow, but the food more than makes up for that. read more

Great beers! The place is right off the corner but it can be difficult to find parking at certain times of the day. Early day it's casual and not noisy but at night it's a club scene with loud music and a lot of people so it has the presence of both worlds. The food is also decent. I had their sausage which is pretty good and their dirty duck fat fries which to me was ok. They rotate beer occasionally so if you loved one you'll have to replace it. Definitely a fun place to hang out though! The bartender is cool and knowledgeable about the beers so don't hesitate to ask. Overall I had a good experience. read more

Pretty good Benedict. I got the Wurst Benedict. It was very nice. The hollandaise sauce was fantastic! The only negative I could come up with is the biscuit is a little sense rather than light and fluffy. It would be nice to have a sausage choice for the Benedict rather than only being allowed to have the breakfast sausage, but I'm just trying to think of a way it might be improved. Overall, it was a very good Benedict and the hash browns were great! Done perfectly. I would like to return and try for dinner sometime. read more

When I go up to visit my friend this is our half meeting spot and we love it. Beer, Drinks and Sausage. I wish there was a place like this in the Bay Area. The outdoor sitting is nice on a Sunday afternoon. The inside has plenty of good lighting with cool seating and really good bartenders. Definitely a must try. read more

Fun bierhall with extensive, excellent German beer selections! If you're a true beer lover, you'll love this place. Fantastic happy hour with various sausage, pretzel, or sandwich bites with tasty dipping sauces. Can't wait to go back & try the Schnitzel sandwich. Our server, Lee, was awesome -- just the best. We'd just walked out of a previous, nearby food joint because service was horrible, so Lee was like a breath of fresh air. He really helped make the experience, partly because all servers are well versed in LowBrau's beers & about beer making in general. Ask questions, talk to your server, tell them what you like! I am currently at a table waiting for a drink. They have well cocktails on special so I requested a gin and orange juice with a splash of grenadine and my server Justin said okay a gin with orange juice. I once again said gin and orange juice with a splash of grenadine. Justin then told me it was going to be a "pain in the ass" to make. For what? To add a splash of grenadine to my drink? Ended up waiting 20 minutes for my drink and two PBR cans. We spoke to the hostess who said she would speak to the manager and buy us a round. We get out bill and we are not only NOT comped our round of drinks we are overcharged for them it was to be two beers for $3 and gin well cocktails for $4. Also during the course of our time here we were checked on one time and it was in such a fast passing that if we needed to request something we would not have been able to express it. We ended up having to speak with a manager who comped the drinks and also expressed that yes, we were over charged for our drinks. Would not return to a place with such low quality customer service. read more

LowBrau - German Near Me - Sacramento, California

First off great service, lovely location. Had the LB burger. The burger has a pretzel bun, tasty spongy not too salty, great bun keeps all the juices together wonderfully. The patty didn't do the burger justice. Seems like they don't use a great grind or a credible quality beef. Lots of flavors with each bite, not much cohesiveness. The patty really needs a lot of improvement. It's sad that this is considered one of the best burgers in sac, could just be an off night. I'll come back for another shot. Duck fat fries weren't the best I've had but good fries, should just come with the burger instead of an add-on for $3. They say add one of two cheeses for free but really they just figured it in to the price. This is a $14 burger but really a $11 burger with the cheese figured in at $14. It just seems like they wanna use high quality ingredients but are using the lowest grade of the best. Really disappointing. My bill was $19, most definitely not a $19 burger. Definitely no bang for your buck here. I still say burgers and brews best burger in sac, and I've eaten at a lot of places in sac now and no one seems to match bnb's burger. read more

I tried the grill chicken sandwich and it, literally, had a tiny bit of chicken, some kind of nasty red sauce and a piece of squash with a helping of green weeds. I ate the chicken and nothing else. I flushed $13 down the toilet. Fries were extra, which I declined. So, for me, I won't be back. read more

I have been here twice and both experiences have been stellar. First was a busy Friday night right after their grand opening, second a quiet Wednesday afternoon. They now have 3 vegan sausage options. My first visit they only had two and the introduction of the third prompted my next visit. The potato sage was great with kraut, spicy peppers, and hot mustard. The new chipotle sausage with the same toppings hit me in the face with heat; next time I will choose sweet peppers or caramelized onions. Their beer options are exceptional. The ruhstaller satisfied my craving for a darker beer, and their traveling (changing, meandering, ) beer was strong enough to cool down my spicy chipotle sausage. Best of all this restaurant is laid back and very gay friendly; something the predecessor failed at miserably. Definitely a great addition to the area which is apparent by the staggering amount of business they seem to be doing. The only con is that due to the huge success it is difficult for them to make more bratwurst in store. Although, rumor has it they are working on doing a wurst of the week. I believe they have a special for bacon week going on currently. Summer on the patio could only make this business more profitable and desirable. I've visited LowBrau once and definitely plan on going back. They have a great beer menu and the most amazing pretzels. I wasn't a huge fan of the duck fat fries, but to each his own. We had a great, attentive server on a fairly busy Thursday night. My favorite aspect of this bar is the decor. I love the painted cuckoo clocks and lights. Very cool. read more

I went here for the first time and the experience was ok. It wasn't what I expected. The food was really good. I really like the pretzel bun with the hotlink. The service was very slow I was there for two hours for a hotlink and french fries. It took the server 15 mins to bring us a menu after we were sitted and another 20 mins to come back and take our order. The menu was so small and simple that it doesn't take us that long to decide what we want to eat. Overall I do like this place, but I wouldn't come here to eat if I wanted something quick and simple. read more

Duck fat frites...hot...creamy...delicious, as good as any I have had in France. Biting into the bratwurst had that wonderful "snap", an indication of the real thing. And the bun was not your ordinary wonder bread experience...it was tender yet not mushy, not "bready" but with a wonderful texture. Great place, definitely a new fav. read more

Went here on a Wednesday night and it was busy but we found a place to sit right away. They have a great selection of beers and the food us tasty too...but messy. The two stars are for the loud music and the poor service. The music was so loud, I couldn't even hold a semi conversation with anyone in my group. Once we all gave up on shouting at each other we just ate and stared at each other. Both of the waitresses who "helped" us were so rude. One of them came over, and asked half of us if we wanted drinks and then just walked away! Like, hello, I'm sitting right here. The other one looked like she hated her job and would rather be doing anything else in the world, which may be true but at least slap a fake smile on your face so that customers aren't too scared to ask you for anything. Maybe it was just an off day. I'll try it again and see if it's a better experience. read more

I like a low-key place where I can get a beer and actually hear the person I'm talking to, so I have a tough time with LowBrau. It's in a great location and I love the decor. They have a good beer selection and the duck fries are delicious. That is where the positives end for me. LowBrau is LOUD. It's hard to hold a conversation even when you're there in the middle of the afternoon and it's not that crowded. If the food was outstanding, I would just make a point of coming here at off times, but the food is nothing special especially for the price. For me, going here feels a bit like a chore. If my friends really wanted to go here, I would tag along, but this place isn't my first choice. read more
