While I was getting a repipe done, my plumber pointed out there was a leak from my AC unit. So I called Mario/Cyclone because I trust his work. He did a same day call and began going to work. He also really explained how the HVAC system worked and what happened. I learned that the HVAC company that my home warranty sent out that installed my system was really shoddy work and taped over parts where there should be pipes to help with making sure it wasn't leaking. So Mario went in, helped to fix the entire system (a lot for one day) and managed to make sure I did not have an issue with my system again. He took his time explaining the different things he could do for me on top of just cleaning the vent. He actually was able to take the machine apart, clean out the inside, and identified where the smell was coming from. Wires on the internals were covered in dust and burning! This was a fire hazard and something a standard duct clean would ignore. We negotiated a fair price and the work was done in the background in about 2 hours. I told him that I had to take off immediately, and showed him my dryer (on my back porch) and where the vent led to. Then I locked the house and left. No one called, emailed, or texted to say they were done, but at 10:37 AM I received an invoice via text. Given that the young man was late and then only stayed 15 minutes was not very reassuring. When I got home the back porch was covered in dryer lint. The inside of my dryer and especially the dryer door was also covered in loose lint. The backyard under the dryer vent had quite a bit of lint as well. Flash forward to 9/29, I realize that the dryer is still drying slow and call another dryer duct cleaning company. They found a ton of lint in my vent and said it looked like the Cal Duct guy just used a light leaf blower to try to clean it out. The other company was even cheaper too!
