I was introduced to them by First American Home Warranty. My furnace was covered by the warranty but they wanted to charge me $2600 for modifications for replacing my furnace with a comparable unit in a condo where there is no Gas, Duct, Pipe access is available! This is the list: Electrical Modifications: $380 Gas Line: $350 Plenum Box: $450 Duct Modification: $300 Mastic Seal: $250 Flue Pipe: $350 Filter Box: $300 Insulation: $300 They refused to answer any questions regarding the scope, the furnace brand, or warranty. When I asked about permit, they said you can obtain that if you like and pay for it. The front office hung up the phone when I asked questions. This is the shadiest business I have come across and I am fighting First American to introduce me to another contract (which has not been easy). Update: I called Bayhill Heat and Air to do the service work that Healthy Duct refused to complete unless I paid a $395 cleaning and maintenance fee. Bayhill came out and promptly diagnosed the problem, removed and replaced a defective part and charged a total of $250 with a 1 year warranty on parts and labor. Bayhill said I did not need extra cleaning for them to fix my furnace. I have attached a couple of photos that Healthy Duct took of my furnace. [doesn't look very dirty does it?] FYI, Bayhill is an accredited BBB business with an A+ rating. Healthy Duct is not an accredited BBB business. Stay far away. I was scheduled for a free inspection and quote. The worker came out and I think we got scammed. He found out that it was just my breaker that had tripped. Instead, he fiddled with our AC unit, apparently "replaced our broken fuse" without our permission, and said we needed to pay $150. All this while coming 2 hour before our scheduled appointment slot without even a phone call to confirm. I wasn't even sure he was sent from this company! We asked him to get his card so we can call the office. We were confused because we were told this would be a free inspection. He refused to give us his card. When we said we'd call the office to find out what's going on, he got angry, accused us of not paying, fiddled with our AC unit which caused it no longer to work, and then left. I called the office and the owner to tell her what happened. She requested that we pay $59 for the trouble of coming out and "fixing the AC unit". After I told her what what happened, she accused us of recording everything on video illegally, said she was going to call the police on us. Wow, all of this from a "free consultation". read more

Did not provide services as rendered and the so called air conditioning tech was not that at all . We are the original owners of our home . The non licensed air conditioning worker , 1)I ask for him to show me his gontractor lic. In writing in his native language and he stated in writing he did not . 2) he never once looked or considered the air conditioning tech unit until I asked him in writing in his native language hto do so . 3) the worker claims that we should not have a air filter in place in the bottom drawer where it was manufactured for in the air drawer below the fan compartment 4) Technician also claims that we should have never had in house air draw vent with filters in them , Note: a majority of California homes built in the past 30 years are all design and building codes in every county and city dictates that they should accommodate a filter . Home insurance companies insist that a home that they insure must comply with health and safety codes and building code . 5) I have called 7 times for this company to respond and they do not . 6) this company has cut and past false award s on their website as I researched 3 of them after contacting these accolades and one does not exist the others 2 have no record or connection with this company . 7) Their website shows no physical address or any other form of contacting them legally in person 8) the website has a blanket policy that is stated : they may at any time .: at any time before , during , after . Our whole-house A/C wasn't working so I used Yelp's quote request to find options for consultation and repair services. I very quickly got a thorough and helpful message from Healthy Duct Cleaning. My contact with them was Osi and the communication was excellent. Any time I had a question (e.g., info about who was coming, the process, or if the estimate would be free--it is!) or request (e.g., asking for an invoice) a response would come fast. Douglas and Juan were the technicians and they only spoke Spanish, but were very professional and kind. I speak Spanish, and I can confirm that they were very willing to teach me what wasn't working, why, and what the fixes were. They changed the capacitor and recommended an acid clean. (They did not try to upsell me the cleaning, but when I asked, they said it would be good because leaving it dirty would decrease the efficiency of the system, and it would burn the capacitor faster over time). The service cost for both capacitor replacement and cleaning was $400. The capacitor was more expensive than the cleaning. I paid with check. It was a very good experience. I was looking forward to leaving a 5 star review. Will definitely work with them again. read more

I hired Healthy Duct Cleaning Services through fidelity insurance with issue of heating and cooling related to hvac . They came few times and initially tried to fix the heater but then recommended to replace with new one. I have other issues as well but they don't record them wich we're related to cooling issues and not enough air flowing in ducts. The person acknowledged the issue and recorded a video but later denied to fix it. When I got a quote majority of replacement was paid by me and they charged me for city permits , after Job was completed and I checked city Website after 2 weeks and can't find any permits. I am loathe to write this. We had Healthy Duct Cleaning come out to clean our ducts, intake and heater/furnace. The workers were very good: on time, efficient and helpful. The issue is that they took apart the blower for our furnace to clean it and our furnace had made high-pitched sounds ever since. I contacted the company and was asked to send them a text with a recording of the sound. That was over 6 weeks ago. No response. No responsibility. This is a bad business. read more

EXTREMELY AWFUL!!! SAFETY HAZARDS!!!!! If you're smart you'll get another bid from someone else. I'll briefly recap my installation experience: 1. Installed AC unit 2-3 years ago. 2. After a few weeks leaking from ceiling, company comes to repair 3. Paints the wrong color after asking me to buy the paint for their failures 4. After a few more weeks, another leak (drip pan in ceiling with heater unit) 5. They fixed issue after much haggling and deceit from the lady I spoke with 6. Continually they lied and skirted the permitting process (approval) I thought I could move past this awful experience. However, I recently had some electrical work done which uncovered that Healthy Duct has used the wrong gauge wire for the amount of amps - the breaker fried. The fix to rerun the wire and breaker costed $1400 additional but I'm very grateful to have identified the issue so as to avoid a potential fire in the future. The electricians who fixed the issue also noted that the installers just left unprotected exposed wires on the roof which also just seems like poor workmanship. These people are a danger and I hope they cease operations until they can fix their dangerous and careless business practices. read more

Healthy Duct Cleaning was assigned to my service request by my home insurance company. The crew came in on time and inspected the problem, which needed a coil replacement. So, it had to be approved through the insurance. The office coordinator (Ossi) explained the problem clearly and worked with my insurance on the request. She was courteous and proactive in setting the appointment at the earliest. Juan and another person came by to fix the issue on time and were very thorough and professional. Juan did a great job replacing the coil and cleaned the HVAC fan unit thoroughly (charged $200 for it). Overall, I am happy with the service provided by Juan and crew. The technician (Juan I think) told us besides repairing the AC, he can also do a recommended service of cleaning the condenser. It was not required to get the AC to work. Without our confirmation he did the cleaning service and charged us $200 for it. We did not want the cleaning service. I see other similar reviews for them with similar issues. RUN IF YOU CAN! I don't even know where to begin. I was forced to use this company through my home warranty. The technicians themselves are nice when in your home however the office manager is beyond unpleasant and unprofessional to work with and unfortunately that is all you'll ever talk to outside of the home visits. She raised her voice at me told me to calm down after I've been sitting in heat for a week now after being falsely told I would be getting a new furnace. No apology and no acknowledgement that this is an issue. They ordered a part (still not in that was already replaced back in January). The technicians are telling me that I need a new furnace but there is never any physical reports provided of their findings. I even confirmed with the warranty company that none were sent. The office manager said it's not their job to send me a copy when I asked nicely. Every other time I've worked with a company they've always provided me a copy of the work they did and their findings which I sign and am given a copy on the spot. This is beyond illegal business practicing and I plan to take legal action if this does not get fully resolved. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere if you are able. I hired Healthy Duct Cleaning initially to clean the air ducts in my house. Their cleaning work is fine, but there's more. Because they happened to offer air duct replacement service, I asked them to do install new ductwork in the crawl space underneath my house as well. Two birds, one stone right? Fast forward 16 months and I am now looking for a new contractor to replace and install new ductwork because it turns out that rodents have chewed a gaping hole through the flexible ductwork, pieces of fiber glass are now coming out through my registers, and I am spending extra money to heat up my home. In speaking with a few other contractors, it is now clear to me that flexible ductwork should have never been installed in a crawl space because of exactly what happened and rigid metal was a more appropriate solution. Maybe I should have done my own homework, but as someone who does not clean or install air ducts for a living, I am reliant on the experts to provide me with the information I need to make an informed decision. It's clear to me now that Healthy Duct Cleaning are NOT experts when it comes to air duct installation and I have wasted thousands of dollars working with them. read more

There is no way these 5 star reviews are real. One of the worst experiences I could have imagined. Healthy Duct were assigned to me through Fidelity Warranty. I paid the fee for them to come out, and it took a ridiculous amount of time for them to schedule an appointment. The appointment was meant to be in a 10-12 window. I took the day off work and heard nothing. I called at 12.30 they said they're on the way and should be there in 15 minutes. They arrived at 4pm. When you call it's either no one picking up or a woman yelling at you that she's busy. Technician got here and did a quick inspection, tried to upsell me on changing the entire heating system, then said I could just fix it within warranty for now and that it's a standard issue he sees a lot and is no problem. 2 weeks later, warranty company calls that my claim is not included in coverage based on how technician described it and it's on me to deal with it and report back to them. Heard nothing from healthy duct. No followups, and no luck getting them on the phone. Avoid if you can, and if you have fidelity warranty, see if you can ask for someone else. read more

I have home warranty and Healthy Duct Cleaning was assigned to my job. They emailed me immediately to set up an appointment. When I emailed back, I didn't hear anything. Then I was contacted by my warranty company saying that I hadn't responded and given their phone number to directly contact them. When I got in touch with the representative, she was beyond rude and diagnosed my air conditioning over the phone. "The reasons your AC isn't working is because you didn't set it to 68°." I explained even when set to 68°, it'll continue running and not get the house to even 70°. She raised her voice to tell me the same thing and added that I do not need a service call. I asked if someone could come take a look as my power bill doubled from this time last year and even when set very low it can't hold the house at 70. She then told me that's because it is an AC not a freezer. I called my warranty company and requested a new company. read more

The technicians that came out did not speak English, did not explain the work they were doing and after going on our roof and doing something with the wires in our unit left the site. Within 1 hour our AC was automatically shutting off and would not blow cold air. My landlord contacted this company to return and they first ignored his phone call, text and email. When he did get through to the office the office manager was extremely rude to him going as far as accusing him of having dementia and making claims that they hadn't even come to the house. Warning! Do not use this company. 2 years ago they installed a new A/C system at my house. Now we're turned on the heat, it is blowing rust through the vents into the house. Upon investigation, I see that they did not install the unit level so that when on cooling mode, it has been dripping water down into the vent below because the drip-tray was not level. The water has rusted the ducts below and now the pool of water has dried up, tons of rust is being blown into the house. I called them - their voicemail isn't even set up. I found another number on the web. The owner has been sending me text messages. He has a terrible attitude, grabbing at any reason not to stand by the 5 year labor warranty they promised. He said they would send someone to my house and that they 'would not fight me'. He said they don't give warranties (I have "5 years labor warranty" written on the invoice). He accused me of breaking the A/C unit. He said it's not possible to have the situation I have. It is incredulous what a bad attitude the owner has. He is completely out of touch with reality. No wonder they don't know what they're doing. Do not trust this company - no matter how desperate you are to get your A/C fixed! There's a reason why they're available while other companies have a wait-list. I paid them $9,500 and their service is a joke. !!!!!!DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Where do I begin with the company. We were assigned them through our Home Warranty to fix our fairly new (less than 6 years) Carrier Heating system. The phone number provided is to someone's cell phone. Majority of the time they do not answer and the voicemail is full. After multiple calls and texts, we finally get responses back. The person is unprofessional and doesn't take accountability. The technicians themselves are very difficult to communicate with. They don't seem to have the technical knowledge to explain, let alone fix anything. The technicians do not provide any written reports to explain the work they did. The first time out, they told us the issue was our smart thermostat. Heater wasn't working still but the technician left anyways. We called the same day and was told they can't come back out for 2 weeks. The second person said he need to replace parts. After waiting for more than a week, I called to get a status update. Again, they couldn't come back out for 2 weeks. Finally, a third person came out, he supposedly replaced some parts but it still didn't work. He said they needed to order a new control board. Again, no status updates on when the parts would be available. After 6 weeks of this nonsense, we went through a carrier certified HVAC company. Within 5 minutes, the technician figured out the problem (gas pressure was too high). This company also said someone mis-wired the heating and a/c wires. Additionally, they said as far as they could tell no new parts were installed, everything looked original. We later came to find out reading through yelp reviews others have had similar experiences with this company. I can't stress this enough...do NOT go through Healthy Duct Cleaning Services! read more

Since it's been warm out, I decided to finally get my heating system looked at in preparation for the cold months later. Found these guys on Yelp on a Thursday night. Responded to my message that same night and was able to have someone come in the following Wednesday at a time that worked for me (late afternoon around 4 pm). Two guys came and replaced my broken thermostat with a really nice one that works and is super easy to use! They did that in less than 15 minutes. They went to Home Depot to get a couple of parts, came back, and also replaced a dented exhaust pipe on top of my heating unit in the garage. That whole second job took about 30 minutes including waiting time. Price was reasonable and fair, and the work was top notch.
