They discovered that the dryer hadbot been installed correctly and fixed it with the correct dryer hose without increasing the estimate! They also went into the crawl space not just outside and found the vent was disconnecting and spewing dust into the basement! They fixed that too! Oh my goodness, I am so impressed and so happy with the work that Ramirez Duct Cleaning did for me. First of all, I wasn't even going to call a duct cleaning company because I just had my ducts [supposedly] cleaned not more than 2 years ago, and duct cleaning shouldn't be needed every year or 2. But, I kept having dryer problems, and finally I got a "smart" dryer that was telling me (via "flow sense") that the air flow was blocked. I did all I could to try and unblock the flow (which was to simply straighten out the dryer vent foil pipe), but still the dryer was complaining about air flow, so.. I requested quotes from several companies, and most of them gave me similar estimates ($500-$600 for whole house vent cleaning + bathroom exhaust fans cleaning + dryer vent cleaning). Only Ramirez and 1 other company told me that the cost is actually dependent upon inspection findings, which I thought actually made more sense than just no-inspection estimates. Though Ramirez estimate was actually much higher than the other companies, I ended having them do the work because their inspection was very thorough, which is what I needed, and they found that a BIG problem, which I didn't even think/ask about at all, was the furnace itself, which we found had so, so much dust and debris in it, which the furnace was pushing into the air that got pushed into the home. Anyway they did the work, completely cleaned up after themselves, and the result of their work was immediately noticeable. My heater/furnace now works WAY better, pushing more and hotter, cleaner air into the home. The heater is now able to heat up the house a lot faster and better than before, like it is SIGNIFICANTLY more efficient at heating up the home. And, of course, the dryer stopped complaining about the air flow. The communication / timing of the visit wasn't the greatest (if I had a normal job, where I would need to take time off from work for this kind of thing, there would have been some inconveniences, due to changing timings on kind-of short notice, but..fortunately, I work from home, so..the changes in schedule wasn't really a problem for me.. but, it could be kind of a problem, or inconvenience rather, for others). Anyway, I am very pleased with the work they did and how well they cleaned up after themselves. Also, I should note: They did not pressure me, at all, to use any of their services, so.. As a new homeowner with central heat and dryer in house for the first time, having our ducts clean was a brand new experience and Tony explained everything in detail about what to expect.
