Lowes is excellent. THIS Lowes is excellent. My analogy is this... Target is to Walmart as Lowes is to Home Depot (I refuse to set foot in Walmart). Lowes does everything right that Home Depot (& the Antioch Home Depot) do wrong. Excellent customer service... all the way around. Friendly staff... on one occasion I had my dog with me because he had a veterinary procedure. I can't leave him in the car... the staff overlooked me bringing him in and everyone stopped to compliment him. Recently, my girlfriend bought blinds... and the woman (I forgot her name, unfortunately) chose the exact company and style for us. They are the best ones that could have been chosen... and she immediately realized that we wanted her guidance. She had to stop what she was doing to help us... again, thank you! Let me first start off by saying customer service is horrible here in the sense there's tons of workers everywhere and they see u but don't ask if they can help you or just see you standing there and walk right by as if nothing. Secondly, I ordered a sliding glass door through this company what I thought was a good deal but come to find out over charged heavily for it. JUSTIN K. came to our house he's the "salesman" for basically this area and most surrounding areas. Before we find out we got screwed money wise on our sliding glass door we thought it was a good deal and decided to contact Lowe's again for an estimate for an exterior door and a security gate. JUSTIN K. kept discussing his personal life I think most likely to take my mind off of the price he was about to give to me. For the cheapest 6 panel door and cheapest security door it was going to cost us $2547.00. Then when I signed the contract I noticed it literally doesn't give you a breakdown of anything except list the two doors and the full price (Not labor, installation anything). Once I started investigating this more bc this little cheap side door was going to cost more than our garage door it made absolutely no sense to me. I found both doors on Lowe's website way cheaper. One for $152.09 and the other $250.00. He kept saying well I have to special order them you won't find them there bla bla bla but yet the door comes with all the material needed to change out the siding that goes around the door in addition only thing custom is the siding maybe around the door. I asked him for a breakdown of everything and even asked for the measurements bc when we measured we measured and seen it didn't need to be custom ordered. The height on doors is mostly always 80 or 81 inches then the widths are 32, 34 or 36 all available in store for purchase. I contacted another company that specializes in doors and windows called West Coast Windows and Doors and literally for over $1000 cheaper I can get the exact same thing. I feel not only taken advantage of but feel like Lowe's and JUSTIN K. are literally raping people. Funny thing is he kept asking me ?s about our house like how much we paid for concrete, what company my husband works for etc and I have a brand new Denali in the front of my house so I feel like he just thought we have money to piss away. Another funny thing is he kept saying how the doors we were getting were cheap and not expensive yet decides to throw that price out. Find someone and somewhere else to get your doors, windows, sliding glass doors this place is a joke. Oh not sure if I mentioned they don't give you the measurements bc it's apparently a liability but sounds more to me like bc your trying to not have people go through someone else for the job. read more

Warning, warning, if you are doing any home renovation projects, avoid Lowe's. Their return policy is very very poor and proves impossible. On 8 occasions over the past 9 months, my ability to return un-used items from home projects were flatly denied, even with manager intervention. With or without receipts. Horrible service , i waited 35 min for someone to come and assist with the flooring department , with multiple notifications to the staff and manager , no one came I left the store and bought my carpet and installation at Home Depot instead . Again I came two days later , asked for someone to assist with paint , same thing , employers are never in their department assisting . Had their contractors come to my house to install some ceiling fans and it was 2 of them. One fan was being installed in my bedroom and I was checking in on them. Seem like the one that was installing the fan was the lookout. I walked into my room and I guess the lookout wasn't paying no attention to the door and the other was coming from my closet??? An argument started and I threw his ass out and the other was shaking like damn. I did contact lowes and I was referred to the 800 number. All I was told was if you don't have video, we believe the contractors and if you don't like it you need to file a police report and the lady hung up. Two weeks ago quite possibly a Monday we were there to pick up a few items and then saw someone behind the paint counter helping a couple with their dog. We needed to ask about a best kind of paint to cover the bricks on our fireplace. We waited 6 feet back observing social distancing as the gal behind the counter not once addressed us to say anything like "I'll be right with you." Or anything as we stood their waiting. Then she walked away with this couple still talking to them, we thought maybe she was pointing them to another section of the store and still waiting, we walked up to counter to show our intention and then she walked around the end cap and not once addressing us she then walked away. We stood there wondering what the hell?!! And then seeing she was no longer in sight, while no one else came up to help us we put our items down and proceeded to walk out in disgust. We noticed she had still been with these two further down the aisle still chatting it up with them. Not very good customer service skills at all. read more

I have always tried to go to Lowes over Home Depot but no more. Last time I went to have some keys made, I stood in front of an employee who ignored me while he chatted with a friend about fishing. Eventually I got my keys and bought a few more items but had to wait in long lines as there were only two cashiers open. There are no self serve kiosks so unlike Home Depot you have to wait in long lines. read more

Mix-communication with sales associate resulted in wrong dryer being delivered. No big deal. Re-ordered and got a call that it would be delivered on a Friday. Re-scheduled for the next day. Did not get a 4-hour delivery window call on Friday call so called Saturday morning. Told dryer wasn't even going to arrive at store for 2 weeks. Complained and eventually agreed on a 20% discount for the difficulties. Note for military & veterans: they have a 10% discount for purchases. read more

Every time I go to Lowe's, I wonder why. No, seriously. The first time I realized my mistake I went in to get bamboo plants. I asked for help finding bamboo and the gentleman started taking me back to the bamboo fencing. When I realized that he hadn't understood what I wanted, I clarified with him that I wanted plants and not fencing and his response was that he knew nothing about bamboo plants and that he couldn't help. Oh and the person that could help wasn't there. He literally walked away as he spoke that last sentence. Second time, standing in line at a regular exit for the store circa COVID-19 thinking we are in a checkout line. No signage that says we are in the returns line. Waited half and hour, finally got to the front of the line and we are sent to the actual checkout line where there are 2 cashiers, 30 customers and another half an hour of waiting. They didn't offer to resubmit the order and overnight them, they didn't offer any sort of credit. Nothing. Customer service is not serving their customers. I called Lowe's one time a few years ago and did not have a good experience as I recall. Today I tried to call their garden center but was put on hold for a long time. In between I was hanged up a few times. I finally talked to someone and when I started talking about a plant, she quickly transferred me again. 1. This local store is usually just fine but my one star is for Lowe's delivery system which actually rates zero stars 2. No star also for all the Lowe's stores phone systems as usually can't get ahold of ANYONE. No one answers then it recycles back to the answering message. After shopping locally and finding they didn't have the washing machine I wanted, without a too long wait for delivery (we needed asap as at our ages didn't want to have to use laundromat during this quarantine) ..so first they said to call nearby town Lowe's to make sure they had the one we wanted there so we could go there to purchase..so tried to call Lowe's in that town but no one EVER answered in ANY dept. So I ordered via online w/promised sooner delivery date w/assistance from their online helper who assured me that the nearby town Lowe's had some in stock and delivers to our area. Delivery date was set and confirmed by phone call to me 2 days prior to delivery saying I would be called the next day to cement a closer time frame. No one ever called. Time frame originally said between 11am-11pm. We stayed up and no one ever showed or called. So today I finally get ahold of customer service after a half hour wait on phone. Order showed it was being shipped from a farther away town than the close one that said they had them in stock. She contacted that store and they said I have to call their contracted delivery service as they didn't have anything to do with the no show. So I call delivery service and they say that my order had been cancelled by a regional director because they don't deliver to my area or on Sundays so I would need to contact the store being shipped from to reschedule a delivery....etc etc. etc and more etc. So an order was given to a store that didn't have the item in stock and doesn't deliver to my area, when the closer one did and does and no one ever notified the customer ME that it was cancelled. Customer service kept trying to get ahold of the store and like everyone else could not get anyone to answer the phone.After most of the day on the phone I was told that the item was on back order. I am only giving this store one star, cuz there is no, "No" star. This store lost a $2000.00 flooring job from me because there is no one ever working in the flooring dept. Once I sat there for 1/2 an hour. The bell to summon work was beautifully not in working order. I watched a parade of other customers go by asking me if I knew where Tarps were, or bath fixtures. I laughed and said I did not work here. I had ordered flooring, only to wait days and decide I should call the store,only to discover that they no longer carried my choice. When were they going to tell me? After receiving no help for the third visit, I went to a nice young woman at the customer service desk. I told her what happened and that I wanted my $45 measuring cost returned and I would go elsewhere. She called her manager and I am sure they wanted me out of there, because by then, I was tired after a full work day, and fed up. I will now only go to the store in another town .Brentwood I think. If Pittsburg store is underperforming and they cannot hire someone to work in every department during normal business hours, just close the store. Most of the few employees, are friendly and helpful. But this store should understand that employees not trained in flooring,plumbing etc. cannot cross cover those departments. So I took my job to Abbey flooring where I got a free measure and personalized attention. I could even see my product installed on their floor. Lowes by the way refuses to remove your old vinyl flooring. They wanted ME to remove divets made by my refrigerator installation. I was told to get a utility knife and cut them out. I stared in disbelief. Why of course I want to help them install my floor. The manager I asked for did offer me 10% of a future purchase. But he gave me no card or anything so I just let it alone. I now have a gorgeous floor that was done start to finish, old floor removed by Abbey and new one installed in less than a day. I recommend them. You will be so happy. read more

We went to lowes today to purchase a set of blinds. Pretty simple stuff right? Wrong! First off I read some previous reviews on lack of staff?? well this was not the case during our visit. In fact I believe staff members out numbered the customers, GREAT right? Wrong again! We tried to get the attention from every employee we seen, but they chose to look away and walk right past us. When we finally corner one down he is the most useless person there, he didn't say more then two words to us and looked at his feet the whole time. We were just about throw our hands up and head else where, but here comes NOLITA to save lowes *for the lack of a better word* ASS! She walked right up to us and immediately answered all of our questions and then some. We didn't go home empty handed and also felt good about our purchase, four stars all go to her and they lose one star for the rest of slackers. It is really a shame that I have to write this but I just cant stand it any longer. This place is so inconsistent when it comes to customer service. The only good thing that I've found about this location is that they do tend to have what I need. But please don't have to actually get any help. it seems as its a shoot of the dice on who will actually be helpful. I've had to cancel several of my orders due to either miss information or lack of it. They set up a date and time with me, I let them know I work afternoons so need morning appointment. I call the day of appointment to confirm and they say they can come in afternoon, NO I TOLD YOU WHEN WE AGREED ON MORNING APPOINTMENT I WORK AFTERNOONS. I have been price shopping for boxes around the bay and on the internet. Lowe's has the lowest box prices by far. .67 cents per small box. Wow. They also sell other sizes but anyway you cut it their prices are lower than Home Depot and the local box stores. By alot. I am in shock that anyone could give Lowe's more than one star (zero if possible). This is not unusual, trust me. I am pretty sure that if you ask an associate a question and they have the answer, they will be terminated and have to take a more upscale job like a cashier at McDonald's. So today I call the Concord store and hit '0' for the operator after the pre-recorded introduction. I will cut to the quick and let you know that I did this 20 times over the next 15 minutes, never with an answer. I tried the lumber department 17 times, again with no answer. I hit Millworks five times and, again, never received an answer. I then tried the extension for the paint department just to see if, perhaps, their phone system is out of order. Someone did pick up the phone, said please hold, and I never heard from them again. I can see why they closed the doors to OSH because OSH provided customer service which, apparently, is not consistent with Lowe's model. read more

I'm going to have to say that most home improvement shops are never going to be 5 star quality. For some odd apparent reason they place certain people in sections that they don't know much about. If you are lucky and happen to find someone to ask, they end up calling someone else to help because they have no clue how to answer your question. Sometimes even the other person who comes to help doesn't' know what the hell is going on either! Can you say RIDICULOUS! The cashiers just stay in one place and don't even help out on the floor. At least this Lowe's is better than any Home Depot I've been to. At HD you have to find everything yourself, ring yourself up or wait in a long line where there is only one cashier on duty. read more

I had no idea what I was looking for, but Jeff stopped what he was doing, said "I'm never too busy for a customer" and proceeded to spend a half an hour with us sitting indian style putting together exactly what we needed from a picture on my phone. I went there this afternoon to shop and figure out how to build an item better. I had a short section of emt (electrical metal tubing) and this associate starts in on me. What are you looking for? I said I'm fine just trying to figure something out. He says well you're in galvanized and have emt in your hand. I said I know that, I'm thinking, I'm fine but he just kept going. I handed him the emt and walked out. I went to Home Depot and spent about a half hour there and figured out what i needed, bought it and went home. Usually you can't find anyone at this Lowe's and when you do they don't know where anything is. Today, I didn't need or want any help and repeatedly said so. They need to understand when someone says they are fine and don't need help just walk away. I did and I won't be back. read more
