I've been a loyal Lowe's customer for over 40 years, spending tens of thousands of dollars across multiple states as a homeowner, and this was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I've had with the brand. Following the recent passing of my mother, I traveled from Illinois to Michigan to prepare her home for sale. As part of that process, I purchased paint for the project and simply overestimated what I needed. I attempted to return one unopened gallon of unused paint that was just 5 days beyond the 30-day return window. The cashier suggested I speak with the Paint Department supervisor (Sean, I believe), who immediately and professionally said he would take care of it. Unfortunately, once the Store Manager got involved, the entire tone changed. Rather than demonstrating discretion, empathy, or customer-focused judgment, the manager rigidly hid behind policy, citing that the paint was tinted, purchased at another Lowe's location, and slightly beyond the return window. What was most disappointing wasn't the denial itself--it was the complete lack of thoughtful consideration for the circumstances. As a longtime customer, I understand policies matter. But great customer service also requires leadership, judgment, and occasional flexibility. The Paint Department supervisor represented Lowe's well. The Store Manager did not. read more

My husband and I ordered two doors from this store. One door was delivered and one was not due to damage. This was in November 2025. After numerous visits to the store, calls and even contacting corporate we finally got our door delivered January 2026. No customer should have to go through what we did. It was a simple order but due to mishandling and incorrect information provided it cost us time and money( canceling trades/ change order fees etc. ) our addition is over a month behind due to the domino effect of the doors not being reordered in a timely manner.( When ordering the doors initially we gave a two week buffer past delivery date and that wasn't enough time to solve this)The customer service was awful and corporate was worse. Since then we have gone elsewhere for our construction needs and have had no problems with Lowe's competitors. read more

They carry a huge variety of products for major remodeling, do it yourself projects, home improvements, maintenance items, home decor, landscaping, gardening, and much more. They also have just about any tools you may need as well as appliances. The other thing they have is knowledgeable people who can answer your questions, explain how to do something or how to use a tool, or even make suggestions or come up with ideas for you. I've always had good interactions with the people working at Lowes and their advice and suggestions. Sometimes it takes time to get to the right person with the appropriate knowledge. The location of Lowes is probably the closest to my home and that makes it convenient for me to directly compare products and services in order to get my projects done. I also learned recently that Lowe's offers a 10% discount for veterans while shopping for appliances for one of our rental properties! read more

Not even sure where to start with this place. Placed two online orders and pickup took over 1 hour. Arrived home and moved the boxes of a kobalt workbench I purchased into my home. Next day when I opened the package I found the interior packaging had been shredded and mice feciese everywhere. On further inspection I found that 5 baby mice were still alive within the package. I contacted the Lowe's Of Bloomfield where I had purchased the workbench and was offered $50 off my purchase. When I explained to the supervisor, Mark, that I had a box with live mice sitting in my house for 24 hours and the what was I to do if one had gotten out I was told jokingly he would give me a mouse trap on the house. I ended up having to drive to a different Lowe's, spend another hour and exchange the workbench for one without mice. Later while assembling the workbench I found the hardware was missing for a drawer I had purchased I called the store again who of course had no others in stock. I asked Mark if he could just give me some bolts since the size was specified in the directions. I was told to "come get my stupid bolts" and then hung up on by Mark. Certainly not what I would call professional. When I arrived at the store Mark had conveniently gone on his lunch break before ensuring he had located the parts. It took another hour working with an associate to obtain the correct sized package and get on my way. Overall I had 3+ hours involved in obtaining a Kobalt workbench. Isn't it lovely to go to a Lowe's where you can actually try out the yard furniture before you spend your money on it? This store is much different than most of the Lowe's home improvement stores that I visited. It's open it's Airy it's well-stocked and there are people available to give you assistance. The sale on Yard furniture is excellent and so are the prices on grills because it's the end of the season and they are looking to get them going out the door. They have so much in this store that when you come here don't expect it to be like the normal Lowe's that you have been in previously. This Lowe's store is for decorators and designers as well as contractors. They have all the most beautiful lighting fixtures. They have the best flooring selection. Wow look at those cabinets. I think this store is well worth the drive even though it's almost in Pontiac. If you are building a house or doing a remodel I suggest you visit this particular Lowe's Home Improvement to get the best selection and assistance because they know how to do it right read more

Typical Lowes located in close proximity to both a Home Depot and a Menards store that has most of the stuff you will need your home improvement needs. This store/chain definitely has some strengths which include appliances, kitchen design and cabinetry and definitely some shortcomings/weaknesses to include contractor grade tools and expert knowledge/advice by their department associates to help you on the projects you are working on. Considering the close proximity of the big three stores for home improvement in this area and the importance I place on contractor grade tools and getting expert advise on my project, I tend to shop at Home Depot as my primary Home Improvement store and look towards Lowes as a back up for most stuff with the exception of appliances. On balance I give this store Three stars overall. read more

Extremely frustrating. I was told that they price matched anything online and it was clarified by the manager. They had 1-2 sales people so it took forever to get help. Jaylin was an incredibly helpful and patient salesman and after we spent 1 hour and then I returned later for 3 hours looking up all 4 appliances measurements online and matching prices, waiting for him to answer other's questions as he was alone. He couldn't give the price match until the manager came and overrode the price. This manager said the site we looked on they just looked at for another customer and couldn't use their prices due to issues the original manager never mentioned. Had I known that from the beginning, I would have left from the start. The store manager said all he could do was offer an additional 10% off and rudely asked why I was there for so long. Getting someone on the phone is nearly impossible, and when I finally did the rudeness from the Lowe's associate was equal to Donald Trump's dislike of Jeff Sessions. I thought I was fine and needed no help. Up walks Gretchen in plumbing and she was fantastic. I needed a part that I was told by another employee it was out of stock. At least that's what their computer showed. She said, "Wait a minute, let's look up here where we keep the stock". Sure enough, there were 8 in a box available for sale. This was the second time I was at Lowes, Bloomfield Hills, today as I was sold the incorrect part earlier. Then Gretchen helped me with some zip ties. She is so bubbly and willing to make all her customers very happy when they shop at Lowes. I spoke to her manager, Andrea about her excellent customer service, and of course Andrea was delighted. I hope Gretchen gets the pluming department position she is trying for because she is the greatest. read more

The curbside pickup system is not functional at all. Today, 6/12/2022 I gave a 20 minute notification that I was on the way to pick up my curbside pickup. Once I checked into my spot, I was sitting and waiting for 30 minutes until I decided to go into the store to ask for help. The lady at the returns desk was more help than the other associates who didn't take me seriously. I ended up waiting at least 10 more minutes in the store until my order was brought out on a cart to the door but was left unattended as if I was expected to push it out. I asked if I was expected to push it out and apparently they were looking for people to help push it out as many associates were walking around asking other customers if they needed help. I asked another associate with shoulder length blonde hair if she knew the status of whats going on and she was so dismissive and invalidated me when I explained I had places to be. Again, the lady at the returns desk was more helpful as she stepped in to help push it out and load it up when another associate approached and asked what the situation was after helping another customer. He ended up helping to load it up instead of anyone else that the useless help tried to wrangle up. Nobody should have to wait more than 10 minutes for a curbside pickup, let alone close to an hour. Every time we have returned something or picked up a special order here, she barely speaks to us and walks away without saying a word (with no haste whatsoever). This is my update!! installation of the carpet is complete 5/24/19. my what a difference. new installation team did an amazing job. they consulted with my mom through the entire process. One seam!!! yeah. reinstalled the pad, they coated the entrance zone with glue. ??? very quick and efficient install. By the way, Lowes Installers are subcontractors. you may want to do background checks because side note: the installer we had used to work for another major superstore but had been fired. my mother was watching the installers piece different carpet remnants to cover our 15'x25' surfaces. My mom was frustrated when they were laying out the remnants in such a way it would create a seem in a high traffic location. Per the installer it was standard to piece multiple remnants of carpet in a family room. (news to me) !! we weren't accepting 5-6 different seams that wide. Most distressing was a 2"flaw that (we couldn't vacuum or brush or scrub out )ran the 25' length of the carpet because it was the end piece and our installer claimed he hadn't noticed it. confirming it was actually the flaw that was upsetting to her... (she thought it was a seam) after another 45 minutes refusing the install.. the store claimed they had to install the flawed carpet due to some law????? the installer stated "oh, you would rather not have five different carpet remnants pieced together I happen to have a long section 25' x 5' in the truck! wow thats interesting! but it still wont fix the flaw in-the carpet. Now! going on 3 more weeks! we walk into Lowes and they demand mom pay for flawed carpet that they never installed. So.... this review is to verify they WILL compensate my mom for the hassle and do a proper install with a qualified installer of new high quality padding and no more than 1-seam upon completion of the installation of the new roll of her chosen carpet. I just love the beauty of the garden center I worked for Plant Essentials in the spring/summer/fall of 2008 and 2009 Jennifer was my district manager and ended up helping me a lot of times resetting the garden center I just loved being there and walking into the garden center. The smell and feel of the flowers was just amazing! I was able to work as many hours as possible as long as I was there early in the morning so that I could do whatever it was to be reset after that I just got the paperwork for the garden center. The pay wasn't what I wanted it to be, but it was an amazing job I also liked by the back sliding doors , there were items on the floor right next to that door that was clearances and used for sale there were dishwashers and refrigerators for sale at amazing prices especially for employees of Lowe's and of plant essentials This was definitely one of my favorite jobs ever! read more

This 5-star rating is strictly for Edward in the flooring department at the Bloomfield Hills Lowe's. I cannot speak to any other associate in any other department at the store. I can only tell you that if you want to work with a friendly, EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable sales associate, Edward in the flooring department is THE associate to go to. He helped me in May when I needed to haul lots of bathroom tile from the bays. He answered all sorts of questions regarding grout. Months later, when I bought carpeting, I headed straight to Edward in flooring. He helped me weigh pros and cons and gave some really sound insight into padding. The entire ordering process was smooth sailing from start to finish. May all sales associates be as personable and knowledgeable as Edward! Lowe's you did right by hiring this valuable associate! The operator could not figure out why no one would pick up. Called manager for help.. he could not figure out why the department would not answer nor could he answer the simple questions I had. The installer called the day the were suppose to arrive to tell me that one of the door was the wrong size.... I immediately called Lowe's and they acted like it was no big deal. I would give them a 0 if I could. I placed an order for some cedar boards and patio stones 2 weeks ago - 94 items total. Lowes split the order among 5 stores with delivery dates ranging from 1 to 2 weeks. The first delivery from the Bloomfield store contained only some of the patio stones. No wood. After 4 phone calls Bloomfield came back out with some of the wood they were on the hook for, and 2 odd planks. Still trying to get that fixed. I haven't received any of other wood. I called the Rochester store set to deliver a portion today, they indicated they didn't have it and wouldn't be delivering. No call. Not notification. I did find out they intend to charge me $59 for each delivery - NEVER indicated at any point this was their intent. We wound up going to Church's lumber to get the wood. I'm on hold trying to get Lowe's to straightened out/cancel the order. They warned up front - the customer service area is currently experiencing high volumes. I bet. read more

Very disappointed in Lowe's. I ordered a new LG refrigerator on August 7th with delivery scheduled for Thursday, August 24th. Took the day off work, only for it not to show up and they tell me it was scheduled for Monday, the 28th (tomorrow). I spoke with an associate that offered to change it to the 24th since it was in stock. I thought she was helpful but She forgot to change the date so I missed work for nothing. So here I am, no phone call to confirm delivery and when I call the Bloomfield Hills store at exactly 8:00 p.m. tonight, I am prompted to a recording that tells me the store is closed. So they stop working exactly at 8:00 p.m I suppose. Am I getting my product tomorrow? I would like to know a delivery schedule since it is supposedly coming tomorrow. Lowe's already dropped the ball and did not show on the day as promised. This is my first purchase at a Lowe's and most likely my last. Very unreliable company. Also, I was promised that Lowe's delivery service would remove my old refrigerator to my garage, which is only down a few steps straight out the front door. When I called upset about my missed delivery date, they now told me after I paid and the day of my missed delivery that they cannot move the refrigerator without charging me $15 for appliance haul away. This is the WORST store in the WORLD!!! If you are looking for a massive migraine, a colossal waste of time and to not get anything you ordered then this is the store for you!!! I ordered three planters in June only to be told they were in on three separate occasions only to drive there and have them not be there wasting literal hours waiting for the incompetent staff to look for them. When I asked to speak to the manager, a man approached me sans masks eating food with his hands. He once again was clueless as to where my order was and had no idea how to help me. There are many other choices with Home Depot and Menards around. I will NEVER shop there again! It's such a shame that more people don't take the time to write reviews when they've had a good experience. So often all we hear of is the negative experiences. That's why I'm writing this review. Lowe's installed a fence for me recently. I was in the store looking at the fencing outside when an associate asked if I was installing a fence myself or going to have someone install for me. He offered to schedule an IN-HOME appointment for someone to come out and give me a quote for a fence install. I had no idea Lowe's offered a service like this or even installed fencing. I received a call the day before my appointment confirming the date/time was still good for me. The next day the salesman came out at the scheduled appointment time which in itself was a huge selling point for me. I received other quotes (before Lowe's) where guys call & cancel, change appointment times, want to come earlier (even though I tell them I work until a certain time), just don't show up or call to let me know they're not coming; it's been very frustrating to say the least. I was given a quote, wasn't pressured into buying right then & there which I appreciated. The man called me maybe 5-7 days after my appointment to follow up and I did decide to purchase with him. He came back out to my home so I could sign a contract and some other papers. I was kept up to date on when my product would arrive. I received a call when my product came in. Two days later the installer called me to schedule my install. Everything was delivered the evening before my install began. Installers showed up first thing in the morning & got started right away. My install took 2 days to complete. I was very happy with the whole process. Lowe's kept me informed and up-to-date every step of the way. I will be having my roof replaced soon & I definitely plan on purchasing this project w/ Lowe's as well. Ohhh and I even received a thank you note in the mail thanking me for my purchase. My husband and I have spent thousands of dollars at Lowe's. In November, 2012, we spent just short of $5000 on a total of four Frigidaire Gallery series kitchen appliances. We purchased the 5 year extended warranty plan. The first circuit board on the refrigerator had to be replaced in June 2013, less than six months after purchase. The second circuit board had to be replaced in May, 2016. I would like to add that we are two adults living in the home without any children and take exquisite care of our home and contents. When the refrigerator stopped working the second time, the repairman that was sent by Lowe's told us the first circuit board that was replaced was a reconditioned one. It was another repair company that Lowe's sent out the first time. The third circuit board went out in June, 2017. It began with a malfunctioning ice maker. The ice maker was over producing and there were huge chunks of ice in the bin. My husband turned off the ice maker and waited before trying to break the ice up in order to remove the ice bin. When he pulled it out there was a loose part and a hanging wire in the back of the ice maker. We called service on a Friday and scheduled for the following Monday. On Sunday, the entire circuit board went out and the refrigerator stopped working. This was a $2000 refrigerator. On Monday, the service man came out and said we needed a new ice maker, compressor fan and circuit board. He commented that the compressor fan should have been replaced previously because it may be the reason the circuit board kept going out. It would take about a week to get the parts. Since our extended contract was due to expire in November, 2017, we were very concerned that a refrigerator with this history was going to continue breaking. After November, it would be out of our pocket to repair it. I called Lowe's and was told that an appliance has to have the same part replaced three times within a one year time span in order for it to be declared a lemon. In the meantime, all of our food that could not be stored in a bar refrigerator and small chest freezer, had to be pitched. My husband called to inquire when the parts would be in and the repair company said they were waiting for an authorization from Lowe's. The following day, we were told Lowe's would not authorize the repair nor replace the appliance. We called to talk to a Lowe's "supervisor" and we were told that we had damaged the refrigerator and the repairman had reported a "wire cut." Hence, we were responsible and the extended warranty was not applicable. They also said they would not even cover the repairman's service call. Of course, we were irate! We had not damaged the refrigerator and the repairman's invoice never indicated anything of the sort. My husband told them on the phone about the ice jam in the refrigerator and that he had noticed the hanging wire after removing the bin. The supervisor said he "had him on a recorded line, admitting he damaged the refrigerator!" He never said anything of the sort. The bottom line is that Lowe's had already had two expensive repair bills on the refrigerator and found a way to avoid paying for a third. The repair bill was going to be $1130. My husband told him we would be willing to pay for the ice maker but we expected them to pay for the compressor fan and circuit board. The supervisor said that we would have to have the ice maker fixed first and then it would be reevaluated to see if they would pay for the additional repairs. Oh, sure. The bottom line is we are DONE with Lowe's and their horrible business practice. We are junking a $2000 lemon of a refrigerator and have purchased a Jenn Air at another store. No way were we going to foot an $1130 repair bill on a four and a half year old refrigerator that had faulty parts from the get go. Lowe's does not stand behind their products! I bought a Troybilt mower at the end of the 2013 season. Cut the lawn twice. In the spring it would not start. Lowe's essentially told me to get bent and that I didn't winterize it properly. I had it repaired for $125. Cut the lawn maybe 10 times in 2014. Winterized it! It will not start up this season. I called Lowe's...they said nothing they could do. So every year I'll have to pay $125 to get my lawn mower to work. They sold me a lemon. Might as well purchase a new one from Home Depot where I will shop from here on out. I bought my washer and dryer at Lowes; 2 dishwashers a refrigerator, flooring and on and on. No more! read more

I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with Lowe's. Their selection is great and their staff is helpful. I ordered a grill online from Lowes.com, and a representative called me minutes later, unprovoked, to ask if I would like it assembled for free. Heck yeah! another installation scheduled for appliances. expected the installation to be done tomorrow. found out today at 4:30 pm that it cannot be done till next week (we already took tomorrow off from work). also told by scheduler that she does not work for Lowe's and was given a wrong phone number yesterday. what a completely lame excuse. now appliance installation will have to be further delayed until we can take off work next week (or later)...also the guy they sent to measure our existing cooktop, completely mismeasured, luckily we caught the mistake. read more
