DA WORST SERVICE EVER! From now on I intend to only go to HOME DEPOT! OR ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE! I waited nearly 30 minutes for NO service at 9:00 pm because their website stated their inventory had a quantity of 20 sheets of corrugated metal in stock. It's 9:00pm there are FAR MORE employees than customers. The display area for the item was out of stock. I spoke with 4 associates. Each one told me it wasn't their area but called someone that was. Today I went into Lowes to buy glue and some paint. I parked in a disabled person's spot because it is difficult to walk very far. I have a disabled placard. At the check out counter I discovered there was only self service units and grumpy helpers. I inquired with one of the helpers what happened to the service counters. I was told if I wanted a checker I would have to walk to the other end of the store near the lumber dept. for a checkout clerk. I suggested that the next time I want to buy something, I was going to try Home Depot to see if they are still serving customers with a clerk that can smile as I pay. The man grumbled and proceed to click his scanner over each of my items and tossed them into the cart. He then asked if I wanted a bag. Not even a one star but you have to give one to post a review This place is the worst. Ordered a new washer/dryer. Supposed to deliver Sunday 12/18. Never showed up. Wasted a full day. Tried to call and got hung up on several times. Can never get a live person. Then automated call on Sunday eve said they'll be here 9-1 on Monday. They showed up at 8:15 and wouldn't be able to wait until I got home from dropping my kid at school. Then after I had my mom race down to help, said they couldn't finish the job because the sizing of the unit was too big. I will be cancelling my order and going to Best Buy where their customer service skills exist and never give Lowe's any business. I can no stress enough how horrendous the non existing customer service is at this store. Just to begin, you call and it takes a while for someone to pick up the phone, when you finally get through, they don't even know the store policies, how to help you or who to transfer you to. Because nobody knows, the first thing they said is "let me transfer you" that means either someone who doesn't know either will pick up the phone or the employee will hang up on you or the phone will ring so many times that the call will just get disconnected. Lowes delivered a damaged wash tower, so they units have just been sitting in the laundry room waiting for them to be pick up. The store says they can not do an exchange, instead, they have to pick up the damage one, process a return and then I have to make another purchase and schedule a new delivery date, and I have to say, who knows if the delivery company will stay within the given time window because on another delivery I had for a separate order they showed up at a completely different time than schedule, I just happened to be home and received the order. On another note, is better you are around when your appliances are being brought into your home because the delivery guys moved my fridge to fit through but didn't move the fridge back and messed up my wall and scratch the the top corner of my fridge, and who will take responsibility for that? According to my experience, nobody. In regards of Lowes, the store keeps telling me I need to call the delivery company and when I call the delivery company they say I need to call Lowes, so basically bouncing me around from call to call and no one is able to help with the issue. Not only I received a damage unit but who knows how much longer I will be dealing with them until I get an undamaged item. The store is in desperate need of training all the employees to decently run the store.This for me has been a horrible regretful shopping experience. Will not shop at Lowe's again at least not for appliances. Purchased a new washer and dryer and was very excited to have it delivered. I purchased them on a Thursday and the first person helping me said they would be delivered on Saturday, then she disappeared and another person comes to finish what the other one started and said Sunday. Fine Sunday... So when they come Sunday they say they can't install because I need a new pipe and my electrical is not good.... So I hire a plumber to fix the pipe and an electrician to fix the plug. I call them to come back they say they will call me in 24 hours they don't call me so I call back meanwhile it's been almost two weeks now I'm furious. They come back and say the dryer is faulty my electrical was fine in the first place! This has been a nightmare and I wish I had never purchased my washer and dryer from Lowe's . The Garden Center is really solid and they used to have the most amazing houseplants. Since the pandemic it's been okay (I'm not sure if they have any control over what comes in). I was there this past Tuesday (11/17) looking for a houseplant for a gift. It was a bit crowded so I stood a bit back against the wall and suddenly 2 men walked by with no masks and brushed against me (no social distancing). They walked over to the computer and started looking up stuff. They were employees that were not wearing masks and not social distancing. When they saw me looking, one put on a mask. We used to buy all our big appliances here, (thought is was better than Home Depot) ---Never again. Bought a GE dishwasher, had it delivered, installed it and found the last piece (toe kick) can not be attached while following instructions. So either Manual is wrong or item is defective. Called Lowes just to see if we could talk to one of their third party installers to see if they have experienced this problem. They said it's not their problem and to contact GE. After being on the phone with GE for 4 hours and then them sending out a useless repair person the following day, and having no results, I called Lowes again for help. After them refusing to offer any assistance again I said I might as well return the dishwasher and get a non defective appliance (since each person I spoke with kept insisting it was not their problem without even listening) they then said it's too late. Apparently I only had 48 hours to return (btw this policy isn't even in the fine print, you need to click on a link that's in fine print then read pages of info to find out you had only 48 hours). I been calling them for over 1 hour. no one has picked up. i tried all the departments, pro desk, service rep and nothing 1 time a guy finally picked up, said he'd get me to right dept, and hung up on me. We ordered an interior door in August of '22 and we're still waiting for it to be delivered. OK Supply Chain problems exist but this door is made in So Cal! The door was due in mid November. When the 3rd party installer went to pick it up at the store, he discovered that it was damaged and not cut to the proper dimensions. Fortunately it was over-sized and the damage was deemed repairable. So we agreed to have it sent back to the manufacturer to be corrected, rather than canceling and starting over. In retrospect, that was probably a mistake! December came and went with missed delivery dates. The door showed up January 12th at the store but was still not cut to size! The poor guy in Lowes Millwork department is simply the powerless middleman who is caught between a frustrated customer and a supplier who is clearly inept. Will we ever see the door installed? On June 7, 2019, I visited the Lowe's in Burbank to get some Birch plywood in ¼" and 1/2" sheets that were going to be used to make a shoe rack. I had the basic dimensions I needed, but hadn't worked out all the cuts until I got to the store and looked at all the available wood types and sizes. I found Tony in the lumber area and asked if he could make some cuts. He not only made excellent and accurate cuts on both of the 4' x 8' sheets of Birch plywood, but was very helpful and friendly in helping to figure out exactly how many cuts we could get out of each plywood sheet. He was also very patient in listening to my description of my project so that I would get exactly the pieces cut I needed. He understood that it is really important when you are cutting several pieces of wood to get all the pieces exactly the same size. He took care and making sure they were correct by clamping a stop on the panel saw so that plywood would be cut correctly the first time. He spent the time it took to do the job right and even more important than that, was patient and listened to exactly what I wanted in order to get it right the first time. From now on, anytime I need lumber, cut or not, I will be heading over to Lowe's. Thanks Tony for helping to make my project a big success. I included two photos of the Birch plywood shoe rack. On a side note, as I was checking out the really helpful checkout clerk asked me if I want a Lowe's Card and said I could save $30 on my purchase and plus 5% on this purchase, and all other purchases I make at Lowe's using the Lowe's Card. I said sure and I filled out the info, got approved and she even printed my out a temporary Lowe's Card # that I could use until I received the plastic card in the mail. It will be easier to bulletpoint the sequence of events below. To summarize, they are totally disorganized in their processes. It felt like I was dealing with a start-up company that had just sold their first ever product. As everyone else has mentioned, no one answers the phone and that is not an exaggeration. I can only confirm that they have the ability to call you when they want to. DO NOT USE THEIR INSTALLATION SERVICES. BUYER BEWARE. I also used them for blind installation about half a year prior to the toilet, and that experience also suffered from miscommunication with the contracted installers. 1. Debacle began when I placed an online order for a toilet (water closet). Got a call WC was "broken in transit". It was the last of its model, I would need to come to the store to order a new one. 2. For installation, I was assigned to a useless service called Handy, a pointless middleman to coordinate between customer and service tech. 3. Handy assigned an installation day for me, but I work 5 days a week like most people... When I tried using their site to reschedule, it would be canceled for no provided reason and rescheduled again to a new arbitrary date. This repeated about 3 times. 4. When speaking to Handy customer service on the phone, they did not make sense and were not understanding what I was trying to tell them. They spoke English, but I don't think they had a firm grasp of the language. It was like talking to a bot with a human voice. (Handy will get their own review.) 5. We finally successfully arrange for a plumber to arrive. He shows up with no toilet and asks me where it is. I told him he was supposed to bring it him. I explained to him that per Lowe's website, delivery is included when you add the optional installation. He had no prior knowledge of this. 6. The plumber says not to worry and immediately goes to store. He finds the WC but there is no seat cover. 7. Store refuses to connect me with Sam - the assistant manager who put in the replacement order - but the scrambled employee orders a seat cover, says to wait another week. 8. I receive an e-mail that my toilet installation has been completed. 9. I tried to confirm with the plumber a week later, but his phone is "no longer in service". Handy is confused because in their system the job was completed. Misunderstanding the situation again, they apologize for my plumber being a no call no show, and try to assign a new plumber. I beg and plead for them not to, and they finally relent. 10. Seat cover is still missing, store calls to tell me it's been delayed. 11. Plumber doesn't commit to the day that seat cover arrives, shows up late next day after I told him I wouldn't be home and leaves products in my back yard. 12. When opening the box, I discover the tank is broken. Plumber brings it back to store to have reordered. 13. Despite being told the new tank would be "expedited", tank is not ready on projected date of 8/10 (one week later). Associate calls on 8/11 and says replacement tank will now not be ready until 8/27 for no known reason. When asked to speak to a manager, I get transferred and... no one answers. No one ever answers the phone there, truly. The plumber relays to me that the manager said they would call me back and never did. 14. A new tank arrives unexpectedly much sooner than 8/27. The plumber comes a couple days later and scrapes a giant curved gash into my wall with it during installation. Wipes his hands clean for a job well done and leaves. Poor customer service, terrible communication, F for effort. I will say, the toilet itself has been working fine, so 1 star. read more

But yesterday for the second time in a month I was told, "If it's not on the shelf we don't stock it", only to check online later and find that the store actually had 6 and 10 of the items respectively. So in each case I placed a store-pickup order which was confirmed within 30 minutes. Conclusion: if you know what you want, order and pay for it online and plan to pick it up same or next day. If you need advice, good luck finding anyone on the shop floor - let alone someone who actually bothers to check the stock. Or shop at Ace Hardware in Van Nuys. read more
