The staff was friendly, but the AC was broken during my visit, and the store was uncomfortably hot and felt incredibly humid. I don't do well in heat and i felt very dizzy inside and had to cut my trip short. I was unable to get what i really wanted and had to drive further from town to go to a different store because of how hot it was inside. I hope they get it fixed soon because it made shopping difficult. I was in the store for only about 30 minutes before i started to feel unwell from how hot it was inside. If i felt unwell that quickly then the workers should not be working in that heat it could cause an accident. I hope they get this fixed soon. read more

I can't believe what's happened to this Ace Hardware. Literally last weekend I asked my bestie to run over here with me because it's such a nice store. I previously would have compared it to the Ace in PAL Springs-beautiful, clean, well supplied and with helpful associates. This store has sunk below mediocrity. I was looking at lawn n garden, 3/4 of the pottery I looked at was either unpriced or the price was unviewable in the back or inside. In the store I saw 4 associates who never offered any help and were busy stocking shelves. Items were wildly out of place, like fuel and herbicides interspersed with grass seed. The selection of patio chair cushions was less than your local Target or Hone Depot! The parking lot only had about 7 cars in it, I think I spotted 2 other customers. Sad. Not worth the drive. love this location! recently moved into my new apartment and needed some storage boxes for my closet. staff, as always, was amazing and quick to help. however, it was so hot in the store it almost ruined my shopping experience (broken ac?), as well as the experiences of other shoppers i'm sure. the staff also shouldn't have to work in these conditions for hours on end. hoping management fixes it by the next time i stop by because i do love this store. read more

Incompetence is the motto of this store. Rudeness and ignorance is their way to deal with it. The manager has no work ethic and did not even listen to my concern, instead he believed his lazy kids working on therefore complained to daddy so that they wouldn't get in trouble. Since this store opened several years ago, I have been a regular customer. They have it all and I have never come out there without what I needed. Today and every six weeks, I go there for pet food. They carry Science Diet and in the dry and canned formula that I need. The employees there are extremely friendly and helpful. Employees like Ruby and Domenica are cordial and attentive. Pets are welcome there and it was a treat to take our dog, Olive, there for a food purchase. Even she was greeted by a young employee who thought she was cute. read more

Standing in a line on a Sunday afternoon and trying not to shoot myself in the head. . . I was looking to get a hardwood floor cleaner and searched on the cleaner aisle. They had several to choose from but not Bona brand. So I wandered over to the mop aisle and found it. The line was long, so I went downstairs to check out. I was only 4th in line but the woman at the counter was having a lengthy conversation with the clerk. Finally it's my turn and the clerk cannot locate our Ace discount card. Frustrating! read more

Went there on Saturday 12/6/25 for pine cones for x-mas decorations. Asked a worker if they had any. He said they did/t. Then looked behind him and there were some about 5 bags hanging on a discount area. I went for a price check and came back where I got the pine cones, the rest of the of the bags were gone. Was he embarrassed and took the the rest down? Store workers need to know the products in their stores or at least ask another co=worker if they don't know. read more

Just needed to come on here and state that the Review done by Len Z on 12/21/2024. Fails to mention how he was in the poor employees face screaming every profanity that he could recall. Many of us were present at the time and witnessed how terribly he acted towards this particular employee and we all went to see if she was ok afterwards. So glad I decided to shop at Ace. I bought a beautiful BBQ and umbrellas. I returned the BBQ, it was just too big for me. The return was seamless and quick. He is demeaning, smug and will interact when approached only to snidely remark with something disrespectful that provides no help other than identifying him as a toxic old man whose bad behavior is overlooked/allowed. Wasted my time on a day off trying to find Morton salt. I had to ask two people where it was to first be directed downstairs in the nursery "large bags" section to find there were barely any bags and not the kind I needed and bags scattered around and half empty. It was a hassle getting down through the slow elevator and by the time I got there I found nothing that I needed. You'd think the staff would tell you or escort you to what you're looking for but no. Workers here seemed lazy and bothered with being asked for help to which they didn't provide any at all. Waste of gas and 30 minutes of my life. read more

Great store. I was disappointed to see Orchards Supply Hardware go (OSH), but Ace has made this place feels the same if not better (store layout and the way items are displayed).Their garden center is more extensive with gardening tools and hardware. I haven't had a chance to explore the whole store but will in the near future. This is what adult toy stores are all about! Also, there are no long lines in front of the store. With covid19 access to stores especially large retailers like Home Depot have been understandably challenging. I waited in line outside the Home Depot 45 minutes to buy one item. Ace is still taking all necessary precautions but no standing in line with some guy hacking behind you! read more

I love how clean and organized the store is. The staff greeted me multiple times when I arrived and asked if they could help me. Stopped by Ace Hardware to pick up our fresh Christmas tree and was greeted by Dave. He was so friendly and immediately had someone come out to help us with our tree! We quickly found our perfect tree and headed back to pay. We were paying with Apple Pay and unfortunately the card reader was not working. Dave had us go to customer service but the issue continued. We quickly went to the bank to grab some cash and headed back to the store. We casually told Dave about what happened and without a mention he gave us a discount for the inconvenience. Not only did Ace already provide a way better deal than other Christmas tree retailers in the area but Dave & the gentleman who helped us with our tree provided us with the best customer service! I googled air tire caps and Amazon was the first post I've seen for $3.99 for a set of 4 air tire valve caps. I tried googling Autozone air tire caps, and the price of $2.99 appeared and then I googled o'reilly air tire caps and Ace hardware appeared for the price of $1.59, and I was amazed. That's almost half the price of Autozone. I called O'reilly because their website didn't offer the price, and the employee there said it was $3.29 for a set of 4. Kudos for Ace of giving me the cheapest price. Home Depot didn't offer this product. read more

Ace Hardware LA Crescenta is awesome! The staff is very knowledgeable and always super helpful. I've been to the location over 100 times since they opened for lawn and guarded needs to hardware needs like a new Schlage lock for the house. The paint department has some great tech to match up paint. I pulled the trigger on a Napoleon BBQ made in Canada! Love the grill. The staff put it together and delivered it to my house. They even put it in the back of my house while I was at work. The store is very well stocked and very clean. Your always greeted by a bright smile (when staff isn't Covid masked up) When DIY and Home Depot Glendale/Burbank locations were sold out of water pressure regulators, ACE actually had one and I was able to buy it and install it. This place place is an asset to LA Crescenta. Of course you will encounter some reviews from time to time suggesting "they never leave a bad review" then again that's yelp for you anyone can post anything on the platform. Take my word this place is your GO to Hardware store in La Crescenta with plenty of parking! The little ones love this place too! Did I mention they are also DOG Friendly? Today August 6th Saturday, I purchased a 10 Ft Ladder from Minerva, Told her I really need it for Sunday. I have no way to get it to my house since it's so big. Look I go to this place often because I'm in the neighborhood. It was once an Orchard Supply which was a great place because they had good brands at reasonable prices. Since Ace took over, it's just been so expensive to buy almost anything there. 100% of the time, I look at my receipt and think "why didn't I go to a Home Depot or any other place instead. These days, I only go for fasteners and odd pieces of hardware. The biggest pain point: they keep asking you for your rewards number, which doesn't do anything for the price of what you bought. Instead it just takes your data and offers you coupons that you need to redeem online to get any kind of discount. That alone makes me upset so I never give them my number. Ace, please learn about CRM. Use some AI. Do something before everyone hates you. And while you're at it, lower your prices. They were expensive BEFORE the onslaught of inflation and inflation hasn't caught up yet. read more

Ace is one of my favorite places to go. I come here almost every week with my daughter and their store is clean and well maintained. They gave a huge variety of products, from umbrellas to gloves to plants. Usually, my daughter and I go to the outside nursery which is a huge open space filled with flowers, plants, trees, and other gardening equipment. Recently, she has been getting into gardening, and Ace has the perfect assortment of potted plants for beginners and experts alike. Their prices are super reasonable and the store is never super crowded. 100% recommend visiting this Ace if you need anything! read more

When it comes to employees and customer service at the store some are some bad. I was fortunate to meet these two in the plumbing area and ask them or some thing was. One was obviously doing something the other was just standing there watching. They said to go over to isle so and so , And I said I've been over there I can't find it. At multiple points, the people who worked there were rude to me. I'd ask a simple question, and they'd act supremely annoyed that I'd dare to disturb them as they stared out into space. Everything there is significantly more expensive than what you'd find on Amazon (like 50% more), but my initial thought was that I should support a local business. But after that experience, perhaps businesses like this shouldn't thrive. For their prices, I'd expect some value-add in the form of welcoming and helpful service. Instead, they put me in a terrible mood with their rudeness. I'm honestly rooting for this store to fail, and seeing how it was empty, probably won't be too long now . If the people there hate customer service jobs so much, perhaps they should just get replaced with iPads. Never coming back. read more

While choice of near by hardware stores are limited in the area its well worthwhile traveling to avoid this store. We had placed an order for pick up and were notified it was ready. We arrived and go to the desk marked for Pick Up and stood for quite a while, no one was there. Finally someone asked if we needed help. Well, yes, otherwise why would we be standing here? Then the young lady says "OK, I can help you at Register 2" (an empty register) so we walk down the check out lane and someone steps up to her. So, instead of saying she's helping a customer she proceeds to wait on someone else while we again wait. Now she calls someone else who goes to look for our item. The item is described completely on the paperwork we printed, as per t he web site. They were handles, 5 feet long yet this person is looking through the bags the size of sandwich bags. Obviously he couldn't find it. Yet another person that has to 'go down stairs", we wait another 10 minutes. I sent my wife to the car as she was already furious at the maltreatment so I could speak to a manager. The young man who finally brought my items speaks to a young girl and she replies "you can call somebody". Suddenly, miraculously, she comes back and claims to be "the Manager". She stands there stone faced while I explain what happened, how the checker was too busy wiping dust off her terminal to service the customer standing in front of her and how she and another girl have been standing with empty cardboard displays in front of all the checkout lanes for the last minutes having a personal conversation. When I questioned that she was actually the store manager she again proclaimed "I'm one of them". I responded, "No, I want the actual store manager, not some assistant manager" as she was obviously too young and inexperienced to be left in charge of babysitting, much less a large business. It was immediately obvious from her attitude she was NOT going to report herself for her dereliction much less her coworkers for their lack of professionalism or enthusiasm. Then another, slightly older man comes up and tells me I can't talk to to her "like that". I guess calmly stating a series of actual occurrences and facts are beyond the scope of these workers. Now, yes I'm angry and did raise my voice. "I'm going to call the sheriff". Seriously? After making me wait 20 minutes for a pick up and watching everyone walk in slow motion while 4 or 5 employees BS with each other and display every type of incompetence and utter lack of customer service? Its extremely obvious NO ONE there was really running the asylum and the lazy children were all running amok. Last point. Since I had plenty of time to stare around I noted prices. $189 for a patio heater that can be purchased from Amazon for $99. That's just an example. From 50% to as high as 300% more expensive than other common sources. No wonder the parking lot is virtually always empty. As bad as the selection is and though the prices are only a little better Do It is a much better option. Ignore at your own peril. read more

I went there today to buy hooks for my Xmas lights and when I asked the guy that worked there where the hooks were he rudely told me the aisles have signs and I should read them but then told me where the hooks were, he should have just started with that. Then when I went to checkout the girl at the register lectured me how to enter the line I was so confused to why she was saying this because the store was EMPTY! I wanted to support this Ace hardware store that is trying to serve us during this crazy time People are very nice overall Store was clean Check out easy They had some things i needed I have been accustomed to my local stores taking returns. I bought a pet gate that turned out to be too short for my opening. I took it back unopened in wrapping same day a few hours later I was informed: No Returns Whatsover No store credit All sales final "Not My Problem" was attitude of my informant So, i learned a lesson This may be a new normal policy for some reason? I myself have the need to shop at places where I can make a return of some kind. So, i was sad to find out there is some fear or some concern that makes returns too dangerous currently I guess it is good to spread the word. Please remember that currently there are no returns at Ace My low score today is not for the policy but for not informing me at the point of sale and then giving me a heartless response when I was trying to make the return. His demeanor was dismissive, did not answer questions (GRUNTED responses), gave a tone that felt like I was asking dumb loll and gave incorrect info (saying that the parts I needed were not even available/no longer EXISTING). Super helpful staff! The vegetable plants outside were 50% off, but none had prices. I asked the young man inside if he happened to know how much they were. He immediately scanned them and got the price! A great deal BTW! So I loaded up on tomatoes and lettuce to take a swipe and growing my own food! My cohort was in need of a specific bolt size and went downstairs. He said the man in hardware was very helpful in making sure the bolts and screws fit and helped him with his selection! Wow, that's amazing. Checking out the socially distance line looked long but it moved quickly. Kim rang me up and again couldn't be nicer. I think in this time of Covid 19 some people are bugging out while others are practicing kindness when interacting with others and it's greatly appreciated. read more

This place may seem small, but in reality it's pretty big inside and it has all sorts of things! This location has two floors. Very clean and organized which makes it a lot much easier to find things! It has gardening stuff, bbq, car parts, tools, household needs... there is quite a lot. This has become my husband's favorite place for tiny car parts and tools! We have been looking for small parts for his car for about 2 weeks and well we found it here! The staff is small, but they are all more than willing to help and that is what made me like this place a lot. Thank you! read more

Needed the keyless entry remote/key for my car replaced and was able to call ahead and do it here. Adam was super helpful and made every effort to revive my key remote first which I really appreciated. Ultimately I got a new key cut and programmed successfully and for far less than the dealership would have charged. Thank you! read more
