BUYER BEWARE....I went to Lowes and purchased windows and a sliding door signed the contract in June with completion date on the contract of Aug 8th. The contract was signed with Ari and he had no problem making the sale but when it comes to problems you never hear back. The store has gone through 3 store managers since July, Bryan, Ron and now Jesse, as well as many assistant managers as well, Rick, Brian, Lacey, Chuck, Tarnesha, Bernardo, just to name a few of the people I have spoken with. Windows were delivered in July and they were to be installed end of July. The crew came to install the windows and guess what they were all warped because the Lowes delivery laid them flat in my driveway during the hottest days of the summer. The contractor still decided to install half of the windows before I even knew there was a problem. Some of the windows couldn't even be installed and they had to be reordered. Of the windows that were installed they were to have put up 1/4 rounds instead they used 1x1 and put nails through the frames of the window pane which caused one of the windows to not even be able to open. They came back and removed the 1 x 1 and put caulk over all the holes as that was their way of fixing the problem, they feel this is now done. The final part of the windows was installed on Nov 8th. Then once we got into the winter I realized that the sliding door that was installed was leaking cold air as well as due to it being warped the lock doesn't work either and I have two windows that are leaking air real bad do to installation issues. One of the windows had so much cold air that I had an inch of ice build up on it on the inside of the window. Lowes is now telling me that it is manufacturer issues and that I need to have Pella come out and they need to fix the problem. So Pella has come out and confirmed that it is all installation issues. Now here I sit stuck between no one taking responsibility for their actions. I have been to the store to talk to many different managers who all say they can't help me but would look into and get back to me within a day or two. I end up following back up with the store several days later have to talk to a different manager go through my whole story again and get the same thing and still no one follows back up with me. I have called the central processing office and leave multiple messages with the same result no return calls. I have sent emails as well and get the same result crickets. Then you call their credit card company and you get lies from them as well and you call them back and leave messages every day for two weeks and no one their bothers to call you back either. They also charged me more then what I signed the contract for. read more

Our dryer "bit the dust" in the midst of COVID-19 I contacted (by phone) Lynn O. @ Lowe's in Carol stream to see what was in stock for delivery-she was soooo helpful in locating a dryer for delivery the next day-!!! Another home improvementstore told me it would be at least 8-10 weeks for order/delivery!!!! I went to Lowes this week to purchase a new toilet for my home and to look at other plumbing accessories. As I walked through the store I immediately noticed how unfriendly the staff was. Several times employees walked right past me without bothering to ask me if I needed help. Maybe it was because they were too busy texting on their cell phones!! I ended up purchasing a toilet and told the cashier I needed help in getting the toilet into my car. Maybe she needed HELP in understanding the concept of a customer needing help as no one ever came to help me in the parking lot. In fact one employee walked right past me as I struggled with balancing the cart and the toilet as I tried to get it into the back seat of my car. Even if I wasn't an employee and I saw someone struggling with an item, common courtesy would dictate that I help that person. Guess not. Its a shame that there is no service in custom service at this Lowes store. Fortunately Home Depot and Menards are not that far away! read more

Don't use them for any installations. They don't stand by their work when you have issues. You will have to call repeatedly over several weeks to get a response. Once they finally respond they claim they will do something. That was three weeks ago. Went into the store two days ago to see what was going on. Was supposed to get a call back yesterday. This seems to be my day of customer service reviews so here it goes. I entered Lowes with the plan to check out blinds. As I made may way to the back of the store I was greeted by several employees with a "Hi" or "How you doing". When I got to the blinds I started browsing around since no employee was around. When one did show up he started looking for himself at blinds. Okay no big deal probably on break. Or not. A second employee showed up in the aisle and started to help the employee instead of asking if he could help me. Now I didn't need help just came to check the sale and prices, but the idea of customer service is to help the customers. read more

Never really go to Lowe's, always been a Home Depot person growing up. But came here once for convenience since it was on my way to Chicago. Great place, nice and big, and a good staff. First guy I talked to directed me to the aisle that I needed. Then when I needed help finding a certain piece of wood, this other lady helped me out there by calling this other guy. The other guy got me my wood, offered me an alternative, and then even cut the wood in two for me. Overall helpful staff. Great job! read more

We came here only because we had a coupon we received in the mail. The employees were helpful-ish but then when we went to check out and presented our coupon the man behind the register scanned our coupon. We didn't see the price adjust so we asked if it went through. He assured us it did so we paid and looked at our receipt and it did not go through. He knew it didn't go through he just didn't want to bother with it. We had to walk to the other end of the store to get the price adjusted. The woman at customer service was helpful and adjusted the price no problem. We will stick to Home Depot next time. read more

HORRIBLE! buyer beware for online pick up! Placed an order for in store pick up and ten minutes later wanted to cancel it as I realized they did not have the BF prices in yet and would NOT honor it even though it said it was online as well. I spoke with the pick person, Katedra, she informed me IF I picked up said items I could NOT return for 24 hours! I said that is ridiculous and she said well I could just not come pick it up at all and they would take it out and refund it. Well fast forward NEVER picked the items up and they CHARGED me! So they emptied the lockers and kept it for either themselves or placed it back on the floor without refunding me. This store is a bunch of crooks! read more

After a near rip-off experience with a Home Depot contractor, I went to Lowe's to compare pricing on a Kitchen remodel. Lowe's initial quote was thousands less, so I cancelled my Home Depot refacing project and ordered from Lowe's. Their kitchen sales specialist, Dan, was fun to work with and extremely service-focused. I went with their new "5-day Express Install" option (installed by ERS in St. Charles) and the ERS staff and installers were outstanding as well. In total, I got complete new full-wood cabinets, with a granite countertop, and ERS even installed my new sink, disposal, dishwasher and microwave for $2000 less than Home Depot wanted for just cabinet refacing alone. Best of all, the kitchen install took only 2 1/2 days from demolition to completion (due to ERS pre-assembling and "mocking up" my kitchen at their warehouse to confirm there were no missing or bad parts). The topper? They guarantee their installation work for 1 year. I wish all remodeling projects were this easy and such a great value for the money! Really, why bother having a person in plumbing that is the opposite of helpful. I needed to replace a Moen bathtub spout, I wanted a Moen. They paged a person from plumbing. He offered to help, he suggested a cheaper generic spout, I wanted a Moen. He looked and said the Moen would not fit. He then walked away, damn! I opened a Moen, and saw it was exactly what I wanted. The sales person was clueless and so rude to walk away. Just say you are self service and be done with it. Of course the Moen spout in stock was a more expensive model that I had. But, looks awesome and works just like a Moen should. Only good thing was they did have a Moen in stock. read more

When you are more expensive than Home Depot and have less selection than Menards, you would figure that the customer experience should be outstanding but this is not the case. Nobody is especially rude but just so few people to help and I have yet to be in the vicinity of anyone who could answer a few questions. It's always a trek around the store to find someone who will inevitably call someone on the radio for help. One time I managed to go thru an entire ring up with a cashier who didn't say hello, told me my total and that was it. When the receipt popped out, she stuffed it in the bag and started checking out the next person without a thank you to me or a hello to them. read more

I went to the Carol Stream Lowe's Garden Center today and bought something. I am in healthcare so I am very particular about Covid and things to be done to minimize my risk and I would expect nothing less from Lowe's to protect its customers. Anything that people touches are potential sources of the virus. While at the register I just asked if they have a sanitizer. Joni who was at the register got totally angry and defensive at the question. She told me that she sanitizes the screen after every customer and she lied because she did not do it after the lady before me. She got totally angry and argumentative with me. She told me that I should stay home and even taunted me about calling and reporting her to their corporate office. How rude!!! I am just concerned about my own safety and asked her a question without accusing her of anything. She is clueless when it comes to customer service. She has no reason to be there and maybe she should stay home. There is such a heightened concern on Covid and she absolutely did not do a great job conveying Lowe's efforts to make their customers at ease. Spoke with the manager and she was nice. This Joni does not reflect the true culture of Lowe's which is focused on excellent customer service and she has no place in that company. read more

Never use this company again for fence installation and other home improvement project. I had them installed fence for me last March. The sales guy told me their warranty can replace any bent or twisted pickets within one year. Then in summer time I found some of the boards bent, I called the customer service, they did send the installer come to fix it. They subcontract the project to a small business. It is not lowes company do this installation for you. In November, I found more bent boards and the gap between ground and fence turned bigger. See pictures , especially look at the poor quality gate(I even can stuff a wood bar and a couple of stones underneath the gate). This time the customer service said they won't replace it for me and said the gap is not installation problem. My neighbor has fence on the same ground, Their fence has no gap between the ground and board. And their fence is years.So it is not ground issue. It is the installation issue. I text the sales guy and he said the store manager knows that but no response till now, almost 5 months after I reported the issue and sent them pictures. I am still in warranty time. Can not imagine how they treat customer after warranty time. Very bad experience. read more

This was my first experience with a Lowe's Home Improvement store. I ordered a piece of lumber on line for in store pick up. My review would be 5 stars for that part of my experience. Within 1 hour of placing my online order, I received a call from this store's customer service saying that my purchase had been pulled and would be waiting for me when I pick it up. I thought that courtesy phone call was a nice touch. The 2 star deduction is because when my son was in the store to pick up the item, he asked a sales person on the floor where the wood stain was. The gentleman said "Aisle 9. No it's Aisle 8". My son went to Aisle 8 to find all sorts of light bulbs. Another clerk told him the wood stain was in aisle 7 and that was correct. read more

I live pretty close to this Lowe's so I started shopping here recently. I got the 10% coupon for changing my moving address which was a nice bonus. We decided to paint some of the rooms in the new place and we needed to get some other odds and ends. For a big chain store, I must say this store is pretty good. Their paint department is very helpful and friendly. Actually everyone is pretty friendly and helpful. You know how sometimes when you go to a store and you can tell the person is annoyed you asked for help. Maybe I'm lucky but I haven't experienced that yet. I had two different paint guys and haven't gotten splattered :) The first time I brought the wrong paint can and he was more than happy to get me the right one. And so far the paint has been good and what we expected. Will probably be getting more for our den soon. read more

I would assume if an employee is working in a certain department they would have a general knowledge of the products within that department, but apparently this Lowe's doesn't believe in staff training or hiring employees with general knowledge. I went to the plumbing department and asked for a certain size pipe for my kitchen sink and the employee shows me a huge pipe twice the size that I needed. I said normally the type of pipe I'm looking for is thinner and comes in a pre-packaged bag. He said there was nothing like that. I ditched him there and went to the next aisle to look and found what I needed. Other times, it seems 2 or 3 people need to look for what I need and still can't find anything. When I was purchasing a sink, I was told by the man in that department that their current promotion was to spend a certain amount of money and I would get a percentage off. He told me it was anything in the store. After spending a half hour finding other items to get to the number, I was told by the cashier this was not the case. The cleanliness of the store is fine and if you know what you need and where it's located within the store, it works, but I won't be going back here. read more

I called on 11/25/20 to get an appointment for patio door and scheduled an appointment for 11/27 at 7pm. No one showed up. I called Mitch and asked what was going on and he said he will find out and call me right back. I had to call back the following day just to find out no one knows what happened. On 11/29 the installer shows up unannounced to measure and says Mitch will call me by the next day. 12/03 no one had called me yet so I called and I was told the installer hadn't submitted the measurements yet. At this point I don't think I would trust for them to install anything. read more

I wish it was possible to give a rating lower than 1. I went into the Carol Stream store back in September to order a front door and screen door. Now, this is costing my husband and I around 3,000.00 for both plus installation. They took this order back in September and here it is December and I'm still without my doors. I keep getting the run around because the delivery dates for the doors keep changing. No one bothers to call to inform me the dates changed. I find out by calling the number that was given to me. Please explain to me why do you keep taking special orders if you cannot supply the items the customers ordered? Why am I paying for a door that I do not have not have any idea when it's going to be available? This is definitely a DISSERVICE. I'm waiting months for a door I don't know if I'm going to like. LOWE'S is very good for making excuses and wasting my time. Something needs to be done about this. I guess I have to reach out to corporate and maybe they can tell me where's my door, when I'm getting my door, why am I paying for a door I don't have? By the way I stopped in the Carol Stream Lowe's store over the weekend and was given nothing but excuses. As far as I am concerned LOWE'S DID NOT keep their end of the bargain. Word of Warning: Do not sign up for their customer protection plan for power tools. You will regret it if you expect any help or if you want to order replacement/maintenance parts for your tool. People at the store will be clueless and refer you to an 800 number. You call the 800 number and they will refer to another 800 number, and then another and another. When you finally reach a parts rep, after 10-20 minutes on hold in each 800 switch-a-roo, she/he will be helpful and then ship you the wrong part--even if you have a part number! It happened to me twice, and they billed me $8.99 for shipping without mentioning it. So, long story short, I paid something like $89 for a 3-year protection plan that is useless and endlessly frustrating. I've written it off as a loss. Hope you learn from my experience. Can't wait for Menards to open their store in New Lenox. read more

I went in today to purchase a grill and ask that they have one assembled leaving the side tray off. I was told they had several assembled and they would be able to remove the side tray for me so I could fit in my vehicle and take home same day. Wonderful! The man that took care of this also instructed me how to re-assemble once home. He ended up having to remove the lid in addition to the side tray in order for it to fit. I want to thank John again for all his assistance and patience. I couldn't be happier I went to Lowe's. Not only was the service great but they are doing a great job keeping the store clean and safe. read more

If there was a zero rating, I would give it. DO NOT purchase a countertop from here. I spent $$$$ for granite countertops. The contractor, H&H, did not install the countertops properly. They did not include supports for an overhang, leaving the countertop to be dangerous. They scratched new appliances and new flooring, as well as did not vacuum under the cabinets. I have spent weeks on the phone with the executive office trying to get a solution. Today, after several weeks and many many hours, they stated it is just a suggestion to have supports. I will continue call and dispute this. Overall, all aspects of the customer service was horrible. This is the first review I have ever written, and the first that is necessary. I ordered a plumbing product replacement online. I requested an in-store pickup. Well, I waited and waited, "assuming" I'd receive an email or phone call when the product arrived since the confirmation email said "We'll notify you via email when your order is ready for pickup!" I just got back from Lowe's and wanted to see what other Yelper's had thought - especially the paint department, but I totally disagree! This Lowe's is a 25 minute ride from my house (instead of the Home Depot across the street) and I kept thinking on the way there "man, this better be worth it" and it was. I specifically went there with the hubby to get their 8oz. paint samples and have had my share of crazy's in the paint department of stores but I loved the guy running the show. I specifically looked at Paul's name tag so I could Yelp about him when I got home and give him credit. There was a couple in front of us who had a red they thought was too bright and asked him to put in some white, he did, then it was too pink - they couldn't believe it had turned pink!!...really? (and so on and so on) Paul was exceptionally nice to the rude couple who didn't understand color theory (or passed Kindergarten) and I was really blown away with his "hey if you don't like it, no worries, don't buy it" attitude. I will definitely go back to buy more color samples from him. Tim, you had a bad experience there - I'd go back and give it another go. Look for Paul :) read more

I wish I could give this store zero stars! Horrible customer service! My husband and I bought a washer and dryer Wednesday night. The sales guy was wonderful I give him 5 stars but the sales guy said I would have a phone call Thursday night to confirm my Friday delivery. Well no phone was made I never received any call. And the I called around 945pm Thursday night asking when my washer and dryer would be delivered they said call back Friday and speak to manager in regards to this matter. I did.., the manager showed no concern what so ever. Why do I have to call to figure out my delivery time. It should be the company to call and set up the time. Do not shop at this store. I walked into facility and there was hardly anybody working I got a couple things that I needed I walked over to the bathroom sink area looking at cabinets I walked around there for more than 20 minutes looking for somebody that can help me. I asked two people they advised me it was not their area but they will find somebody. Nobody came I finally found the guy that handles the sign department who also said it's not his area. He called Kyle a manager that was busy but since nobody else was in the department found time to walk on over. I told Kyle I waited 20 minutes before I even found somebody that would be able to help me Kyle said well Joe is here now. No apologies from Kyle maybe we're understaffed I apologize we're doing inventory I apologize this store sucks I apologize nothing. I got the cabinet the box was beat up I had to get it opened up to look for some damage I did not open all of it unfortunately because when I brought it home one of the drawers where's scraped paint removed. I'm giving two stars because the lady at the register and the guys who got the box down we're good kudos to them. This is why I go to home Depot. At least when I met with somebody at home Depot they actually get somebody that can help me.. read more

We went to Lowes at 400 W Army Trl at Carol Stream to buy a stove. 1st stove came damage so we have to wait almost 4 more weeks to get 2nd stove. If you can imagine it .... 2 months without stove....no real cooking for kids..... After 2 months of waiting, the 2nd stove was not deliver either because the delivery service had a wrong phone number (??? but not the store) and the store manager cancelled our order after short argument with my husband. The Corporate Office didn't want to listen how their manager got upset at my husband for spitting the truth about their negligent service (on Sunday) and back stab him by making Big Fat Lies and canceled our order and delivery. Don't bother go there. There are many, many stores for all of your shopping needs with Very friendly people and good customer service. Spend your money somewhere else! read more

The service here was horrible. The credit card machine froze and they left me outside in garden center freezing for 20 minutes as cashier was transferred to 6 different departments trying to fix it. After that they just voided it an told me to go inside where they only had 2 lines open and people lined up and down aisles waiting. I was so cold and frustrated the experience brought me to tears. Bought a $3200 dollar stove, paid another $800 to get it installed. The installer almost set fire to our house when he ran the oven after the install! He left cleaning sponges, scrapers, paper, glue, and tape in the oven. We put the fire out and cleaned the rack and stove. They only offered us a $100 compensation. I was completely offended. Will never go to Lowe's again for anything. Terrible customer service! read more
