This place messed up in almost every possible way imaginable.
We were looking for a new oven and cooktop, and we were initially planning to purchase them at Home Depot. Unfortunately, they didn't offer installation, so we searched for places that offered installation, and thought of this Lowe's. To save time, we decided to call the store beforehand to see if they offered installation for electrical appliances. After getting my call redirected 3 times within 30 minutes with nobody knowing the answer, I hung up. Even though this was a huge red flag, we still decided to at least take a look.
It turned out that Lowe's did offer installation. Furthermore, when we arrived, we found out that the store was offering rebates and discounts on electronic appliances for a limited time. When we asked for help looking for an oven and cooktop, John was extremely helpful. He informed us about the on-going promotions, helped us find ovens/countertops for the best price in-store and online, and gave us a detailed rundown of the entire installation procedure. He informed us that the installation procedure would start by having a few people come to our house and measure the interior of our current cooktop and oven, to verify that the dimensions exactly matched the new oven/cooktop that we will purchase. After confirming the dimensions, he would place the order online and the product would arrive in about 2 weeks. Once the products arrived, the installers would come by, pick up the oven and countertop at the store, and install the appliances. John also answered our questions very patiently (our English isn't the best either), and at the register, the cashier was extremely friendly and told us exactly how to do claim our rebate for our purchase. Needless to say, we came out of the store extremely happy.
Now, remember, this is a 1-star review, despite the amazing experience we had in-store. Obviously this story doesn't end here.
Once home, we immediately filled out the rebate form and submitted it online. A week later, we received a mail from Lowe's informing us that our rebate was not accepted because they could not find any appliance purchases on our invoice. They gave us a deadline to correct this. We didn't make it, and lost out on about 50$.
While the rebate fiasco was happening, the measuring guys came and measured the interiors of our oven and cooktop. They said they should get the order for our oven in by tomorrow. So the next day we call Lowe's to figure out when our ovens and cooktops were coming. It turns out that the store misplaced the measurements or something, and an order hasn't been placed, and will call back once they find out what happened. We got nothing for 2 days, and have called the store multiple times, only to get the same response back again. Finally, after 3 days, someone finally got in the orders.
So our ovens and cooktops arrive, and we schedule a time with the installers. My mom took off work during the scheduled time so that someone's home. The installers didn't come. We call Lowe's and after a few frustrating phone calls, we find out that installing was rescheduled and that tried to inform us twice but no one picked up the phone. We had no missed calls nor any voice mails. We ask them to give us a call 30 minutes prior to their arrival this time so that someone can come home. On the rescheduled time, the installers show up without warning, despite Lowe's telling us that they will call beforehand, and tried to install our oven and cooktop. The oven was not the right size (remember, Lowe's had people measure the interior of our oven beforehand to prevent exactly this. At a price too). So, we only got the cooktop installed. When we reordered an oven with the correct dimensions, they tried charging us again, despite this being THEIR mistake.
Already, because of the delays and an error made by our granite countertop installers, we were a week behind installing the cooktop. Now we had to wait another 2 weeks to get our new oven installed.
So Lowe's calls us on Monday and informs us that our oven arrived. We schedule our installation on Friday, between 2:30-4:30. At 11:30AM a delivery guy tells us they are at our place to deliver our oven. We didn't ask for a delivery, the installer was supposed to pick up our oven and install it. Regardless, we said we will come back to our home ASAP. The delivery guy tells us that he has only 5 minutes out of a 15-minute window left, and that wasn't enough time. So he left without delivering anything. We called the store to figure this mess out. The store manager had no idea where our oven was, but will call back as soon as he finds out. So they call back 9AM Saturday to reschedule a delivery. We don't want delivery.
P.S. The installer went back to the store 4 times on Friday to pick up our oven. We felt bad for them, it's not his fault. So right now we are a month late and still no oven.
