DO NOT trust any of the installers to return anything for you!!! I made that mistake. I had some baseboards installed and there was an extra pack left. The installers offered to return it for me so I accepted. 2 weeks later and I checked my online statements. No refund. I called the guy from flooring and he told me he took care of it and to wait a few more days. I waited patiently so I didn't check back until another week or so later. I checked my online statements again and still NO refund! I called again and talked to the same guy from flooring. He told me he did all he can, talked to the installers and nothing else he could do. Seriously?! Then he directed me to customer service which directed me to Lumber department which directed me to Millworks department...do I need to say more? I'm done. Lowe's is only useful if you want dirt cheap goods. Some of the customer service has improved but still has a long way to go. Do not use their delivery service from the store, they are almost worthless. The delivery department kept changing the delivery date and times so I rented a truck and picked up the items myself. Best plant department at a chain store that I've seen in a while! I've gotten a selection of cacti, air plants, succulents, and philodendrons from here that are doing just fine! Only one of my plants didn't survive, but that was completely my fault for over watering! (tip: DO Not over water indoor cacti! I overwatered one of mine so much that it literally exploded all over my house... oops) But every time I come to the store, I find better and better plants. Yesterday I saw a beautiful, mature Split Leaf Philodendron for 34.00! Good luck finding one of that size anywhere else! Plus they have some great air plants glued into crystals! Only 3.49! Top notch stuff, when done correctly. The tool section is incredibly frustrating to get to in an attempt to reduce theft. There is one tiny entrance to the rodeo ring and when in the tool cage, there are extremely sensitive sensors stopping even legitimate shoppers from stealing. Purchased a refrigerator from Lowe's skeptically. My family and I are consistent BestBuy appliance shoppers so we deviated from the norm. We had done some online searches on Lowe's website but figured it would be better to see the actual inventory. We were very happy to see the selection Lowe's offered. The appliance section was busy with customers. As soon as we finished browsing someone came up asking if we had any questions. We were helped by a wonderful associate named Yost. He answered all our questions, and was very patient. These large appliance purchases are always a pain. You always get concerned with shipping, haul away and the warranty terms. Yost broke everything down for us. He explained the shipping timeline, the warranty and installation support offered. I hope management sees this review. In today's environment kindness and warmth are hard to come by. Yost is exemplary and should be recognized for his knowledge, understanding and great customer service. I plan to update this review once the refrigerator is delivered but for today's experience 5/5 stars. read more

Not sure why this place has such a low rating. Yes, you have to hunt a tiny bit to find help during peak hours, but everyone I've asked has been helpful with both finding things and general advice. We purchased a 4 burner, Charbroil grill with cabinet below on May 20th, on sale for $189. We also purchased another $200 in grill items. We took a photo of the grill with the price to go into the store and purchase it. We had to lift the grill into our car ourselves and brought it home...to find out it didn't work. We call the store, tell them it doesn't work. They say we have to bring it back (fully assembled) and they will exchange it. We can't do this and we spend a couple days trying to find a way to transport it. We call back and talk to another manager who says they will deliver a new one and pick up the old one. Seems legit... We wait another week for delivery, find out the delivery is in the middle of the day on a Tuesday and make arrangements to be home. The delivery window is 10am-12pm - delivery shows up at 12:15pm. And its the wrong grill. It is stainless steel, not black and has no cabinet underneath. We talk to the delivery staff who say they will take the old grill, leave us with this one and we need to call the store. We call the store immediately...and are transferred...then hung up on. Then we call again, and are hung up on again. Then we are on hold on the 3rd call for 25 minutes...but wait there's more. We can't get anyone on the phone so we drive down there. There are so many people working here. 2-3 in each department. Chatting, laughing. Probably talking about a BBQ they went to that weekend. We ask for James (delivery driver recommendation) who doesn't exist. The grill guy says he will get Miles...who they can't find for 10 minutes and they say he must have snuck out. They send us Michael. Michael seems to understand, says he will have the correct grill delivered to us the next day and pick up the old one. He takes our receipt, our name etc and we leave. Good right? No, he calls a couple minutes later and says the item number is the wrong number and the grill we are asking for is more expensive. More expensive? I already had it in my home. He says we have the right grill. I tell him I have pictures and he says to show him. We drive back to the store, show him pictures and he says he will work it out. Wait, I drove back to the store after you questioned me to show pictures over a $20 difference after the service we received? It gets worse. Michael calls and leaves a message saying he needs to charge me for the new grill. And when he receives the old (wrong) grill back he will refund me for the original purchase. Now I need to come out of pocket another whole grill to get a working grill that I purchased over 2 weeks ago? We call back...3 times tonight...to be hung up on again. We just filled a formal complaint with Lowe's Corporate office. Still don't have the correct grill. read more

Bought a propane BBQ grill. Went to customer service to ask them to disassemble the wings so I can fit in my vehicle. The lady was nice enough to call someone to help me. When the guy came out, he said he doesn't have any screw drivers or any tools he can use to unscrew 4 screws....unbelievable that these guys who sell all types of power tools. Made an appointment online for a carpet quote,after a week a 3rd party called to come out. They came and took measurements only. At which time, was told that 2-3 days later the local Lowe's would call for product selection. A week later the local concord store called. I walked in and meet with Niomi, spent 45 min picking out product. Was told w/i 2 days that would send the quote. Trouble begins: 1 week later no quote, so I call. Concord store floor depot has no clue as to what is going on. I get transferred 2x, finally talk w/ max. Who states he need product select to complete quote. States I meet w/ Niomi for 1 hr to do just that, all notes are on my paper work. Max says what paper work. That is bad news, so I said goodbye. Poor management. ZERO service but plenty of people staffing the floor. I blame the store manager for a complete lack of concern on how his or her employees interact with the customer. Somebody from Lowes Corporate needs to get off their lazy butt and into this store and find out for themselves how horrible the customer service is...and then fix it. I have upgraded my appraisal of this Lowes because of one employee...."Dan" in the flooring department. He is the most helpful, polite and friendly person I have met in retail is quite sometime. He has been instrumental in my wife and me completing our upstairs remodel. I will share one instance of many of his customer service skills...we needed five more cartons of granite tile in a hurry....Dan took the time and steps to get those five cartons from LA to Concord in less than 24 hours, at no additional charge. Dan should be the guy who teaches customer service at Lowes Concord. He is outstanding at what he does. read more

Sierra is kinda rude. Use caution! Everybody working more or less seemed like they absolutely hated being at work. I am a firm believer in putting on a "happy face"... or you will scare the people away. The only reason I stuck with Sierra was because all others left in the department were new employees (no fault to them) or out sick. Originally, they gentlemen I spoke with was very professional and helpful; he even turned me on to some things that I didn't know about. They only had 9 boxes of flooring we needed. They said they would hold the 9 boxes for us. We needed 30 more and ordered them online. Delivery delayed a week. Only 23 arrived. They subtracted in error. Get to store and turns out they sold the 9 they were supposed to hold for us. Meanwhile my home has no flooring. Now we have to go Lodi Lowes. Manager at Concord store only gives us 10% discount for our trouble. Pretty cheap discount compared to our inconvenience if you ask me. Not happy. "Low" score for LOWe's from me. We went in to buy a washer and dryer a couple days before Labor day weekend. They were having pre sales. We had already found two sets we wanted to look at online before we came to the store. Christopher greeted us and began answering questions. He was informative and helpful. Placed the order. Set up delivery. The delivery company calls you the afternoon/evening before to give you a window for the next day. That could make it hard for some to schedule around, but we just planned to work around the house that day. They were on time, friendly and efficient. read more

You question, you fuss, you wonder if the other person is nuts, and you take it a step at a time. At Lowes in Concord, we connected with Linda Wink in the Cabinet Department and set about on a joint adventure. Linda was able to take us through the full kitchen and bathroom design phases until we had it all perfect. We entered into our "Project Marriage" went through all the doubts and frustrations involved and emerged as best friends in the end. My wife and I had all the questions, some of them new, and most from fear and a lack of understanding the process until Linda had our order right. And at Lowe's the quality was higher than we expected and the prices were right at what we had hoped. We found the Shenandoah Cabinets to be a great value, delivery was as promised, and the follow up service from the factory and their shippers was excellent. Even a last minute change order and a second order for one more item was handled to our satisfaction. This is not an easy process for the meek, but Linda hung in there until we became her most appreciative admirers. As a result, we are buying more of our new home products from Lowe's. Definitely prefer Lowe's over Home Depot, but their customer service has gotten a bit lax in the last year. I really just like how Lowe's is set up. I feel as though it's easier to find things there and typically there are many employees around to ask. I would go here for all my home improvement needs except that Home Depot is so much closer to where I live. Sometimes the extra time to get there is worth it though, since finding anything at Home Depot takes about double the time. This is for the garden center. The customer service here is a big joke! Basically it's the guys. They're just plain lazy. They look at you like you're an inconvenience. And they have such an attitude when you ask them the simplest of questions. I bought a few plants that were marked down to $20 and told him that he would probably need an override from a manager. He had no response and charged me $25 per plant. When I looked at the receipt and noticed it, he said I needed to go to customer service and get a refund. This happened on two different occasions. I called on Thursday when it wasn't here.... they said it ONLY JUST shipped... it is not even in the FedEx system yet so now I won't receive it. I have had to cancel the installation appointment i had to put it in due to their delinquent shippng practice. Needless to say I am totally nonplussed. Asking for a manager just got me talked over by a representative and I had to yell MANAGER at least six times before I got transferred to one. Great store for home improvement needs, lacking a bit in the trim and baseboard selection and lengths available, but otherwise very well organized and easy to find what you need. This Lowe's store has more selection than Home Depot but the delivery service was one of the worst I've experienced. First they got the deliveries wrong - we ordered a washer and dryer and asked for the washer to be delivered sooner because it was in stock. That didn't happen as they promised. we waited longer to get both appliances at once. We also paid for two old appliance removals. The delivery got here late and the guy immediately said no I'm only taking one appliance. We asked him why and he got defensive and said call the store. We asked him to call his employer and he said no. call the store. Later we called the store who said they didn't know what the delivery guy was talking about. a lot of drama just to get our delivery. I see why online businesses are taking over. Never really have issues with online deliveries. read more

I purchased a Toto bidet seat cover online during the holidays. We are updating our bathroom so it sat in the box in my garage for awhile until we were ready to install. When I finally took it out of the box I realized the seat was cracked and damaged. The store wouldn't let me return or exchange the broken product because it has been loner than 90 days (I missed the cut off by like 5 days or something). They gave me no option to exchange the product or return it to the manufacturer. They just told my I was stuck with the purchase of $500 for a completely broken product. This is why Amazon is eating this company's lunch. I will NEVER EVER spend a cent at Lowe's again in my entire life and you should avoid this place as well. F U Lowe's. read more

Been to this Lowes in Concord a few times. Employees are friendly, helpful and you can always ask anyone for help. Even returning is pleasant. Store is clean. It doesn't have that warehouse, dusty feelings like the other "depot" stores. I just discovered a few days ago when I was returning a special ordered item that they even have language translation service. You know.. if you have been to one of those doctors' office, hospital, or medical offices, you may have seen that sheet with different languages saying that interpreter service is available. Yelp! I Went to Lowe's after work and waited in the curbside pickup area after letting them know that I was there via the app. I was on my phone so I did not realized how much time passed, but I realized I was there more than 30 minutes. I got out and walk towards the building and saw an employee. I asked if they were still doing curbside delivery and he said yes and walked away. No, have you been waiting long, how can I help you or there is the customer service, etc. Walked in to customer service area, which no one acknowledge someone waiting in front of them. I asked again about the curbside delivery and the guy asked my order number or name. He did not realized that a curbside pickup customer was in front of him in side. after waiting employees ask each other who was supposed to help me and get me my order, they finally brought my order. I ordered a couple of MDF boards online 1 x 6 x 8 and 1 x 8 x 8. However the actual item specks was different: actual measurements were 3/4 x 5.25 x 8 and 3/4 x 7.25x 8. Firs the guy told me they look right and then he measured it and realized that the numbers are off and asked me do you still want them? I think I said enough to show that this was a very bad customer experience. After working 12 hour shift, I went to Lowe's to be more miserable. read more
