These guys are great, truly are. Every time I go in I get turned around but ask somebody where curtain rods are or garage door openers...and I have never gotten the answer of "I don't know". I came in the other night close to closing. At first I was slightly disappointed because I was walking around aimlessly not knowing where to go. When I got to the lumber section though, Andrew was such a great help. He was patient even when I kept switching the things I needed. He also helped me bring everything to my car, and stayed till I was safely in my car since it was late at night. Definitely one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. I don't have much reason to go to Lowe's usually. But after this experience I will definitely be choosing this location when I do need to go. read more

The employee's here are really helpful! Especially for a woman who generally has only a small clue as to what I am doing around a tool box... Great products, decent price... Military discount helps too! I come here for all my projects and crafts (birdhouse, mosaic table, bed frame slats and board, refinishing furniture, ect). I always leave happy. I had a security screen door installed. I had to go to the store to pick it out and purchase. The whole process was perfect. Everyone at the store was helpful and nice. They said I'd have the door installed by a certain date, but they called and I got it 3 days early. It looks beautiful and I would definitely recommend Lowe's. read more

The company does not promote team leadership, you can feel the disconnect and almost complete shutdown of other team members when they are working. (No joke, that happened to me when I was working my department not more than once). Site manager and supporting managers (except Omar and Jen "Ruby", if they are still employed here) will only talk to you when a problem is occurring. As a customer, employees are reluctant to help customers out. Associates will walk exclusively down back aisles, just to avoid interaction. the level of experts within a department are mostly learn as you go. If you are asking someone for help, they have learned most of it through on the job training of trial and error. (P.S.: never ask a manager for help in finding something in the store. Lowes website said they had 45 of the thing. I go to store, associate can't find any. They won't order more because computer says they have. After 20 minutes of associate searching the store, I leave. I place order online for in-store pickup. Website says will be available for same day pickup. Eight days later, still not ready. I call customer service, she puts me on hold while she talks to store. There is a lot of feedback noise while I am on hold, it is annoying. She comes back and I am told they couldn't find any of the item to fulfill my order, so they cancelled order (without notifying me). But, they finally accepted they did not have any despite the computer inventory saying they did and they ordered more of the thing. I can go pick up today, she says. I wish this was just a one time bad experience, but... it wasn't. Similiar things have happened (including a canceled order I wasn't notified about). If it wasn't for the fact that my company has an account here so I HAVE to use Lowes for work purchases, I would never shop here. Received great service from Rob at flooring Department. Called up and he quickly answered the phone and assisted me in locating wall tile in stock over the phone, placed it aside for us. When i got there 40 min later, Rob was there and available to assist us - loaded the tile and we were on our way. Rough trip to Lowe's tonight! I arrived at 7:30pm on a Friday evening. There were not very many customers in the store, so it seemed like the perfect time to shop. We needed a new screen for our sliding glass door. When I arrived at the isle that had the screen doors I noticed that ALL of the screens for sliding doors were empty. I went to find an associate but when I found 2 talking at the end of the isle, neither were available to help me. One stated that he was the only one in the section and he needed to go help someone in lumber. He told me he would be "right back in a minute" to help me. I waited 15 minutes and he did not return. I walked down the center isle looking for someone, anyone to help me. Not only could I not find the original associate who needed to help someone in lumber (no one was in lumber either), I could not find any associates at all. I went back to the screen isle and pressed the button for help, I waited another 10 minutes before the original associate came back. As he approached me, he said he was still busy. I said, I just have a question about screen doors. Then he said, "if you are looking for one for a slider- we are all out. " SERIOUSLY!!!! Why couldn't you have said that 25 minutes ago? I could have already been to Home Depot instead of waiting for nothing! Thankfully HD had what I needed. I was in and out of HD in less than 10 minutes! read more

We had to replace three vertical blind head rails and brought one in for measure. We didn't need blinds, just the rails, but they didn't have the specific size. Jennifer was able to get the right one that could be cut to size and she made sure the blinds (we brought one in) we had at home would fit as well. She was very professional and had a great attitude. The head rails fit perfectly in the windows. When you have someone that takes pride in their job, it shows....it's done right the first time. Thanks Jennifer! read more

Actually it is not fair for the sales staff for the 2 star I give, they are actually very good, deserve at least a 4 star. The 2 star is really for their project work team. Lowe's is only good to buy things from, however, if you are up for project work, such as kitchen cabinets, countertops, etc, stay away from them. Between the kitchen design desk, and installed sale office, and field installers, there is poor communication and coordination -- Lowes delivers wrong material to the job site, you'd think the contractor would get back with Lowe's informing them about this, right? But no, they just leave the job site, days later, you'd think the job should be almost done, right? But no, they haven't even started yet.......this goes on and on. I don't have personal experiences from Home Depot, but my neighbor says their project work is the same. read more

Every project I have done on my house they had the tools and materials for the job except once. I like there isle set up better than Home Depot. Both home improvement stores offer 10% off but Lowe's has better sales,service and customer service in my opinion and they don't charge the customer a restocking fee on returns. Enormous and clean Lowe's in a great location in north Oceanside. The staff here are very friendly and the overall ambiance is certainly better than Home Depot. I think it's worth it to pay a bit more for things here than HD, just like I would rather shop at Target than Wal-Mart purely on aesthetic value. I usually come here and peruse the garden section. They frequently carry some better cared for and harder to find plants than what I see at HD. read more

Tonight we made a trip to LOWE'S. Looking for a steam cleaner for the carpet. First staffer tells me " we have shop vac mam but no carpet cleaners" We came upon another staffer and he tells me exactly where the cleaners are located in the store! After making a decision about the one we wanted to purchase we could not find anyone in the store to help us get product down of upper shelf. My husband asked twice for someone to come over to help. I went to this Lowe's today to buy insect killer, and a humming bird feeder. When I got there I decided to get some bird food for the bird feeder as well. I wasn't approached by an associate, but I also didn't look like a lost puppy in the store either, which is good, they should be able to recognize and approach people in need, not someone who looks like they know what they are doing. So I got all of the items I needed and went home... Then I have a true Ruh-tard moment, and pour humming bird food that I had just prepared on the stove into the glass feeder, and it cracks. I was figuring it wouldn't, just because I figured it would be made to have hot liquids poured int....I don't know what I was thinking, blonde moment. So I have this brand new cracked feeder. I bring it back into Lowe's and tell them the truth, and they are like that's absolutely fine just go grab a new feeder. I was definitely expecting a hassle, but it went really smoothly, and the girl didn't even give me the "You're an idiot" face. Besides the customer service being good, their prices are also very fair. The reason this place is only getting 4 is because I was waiting for like 15 seconds at the line starts area before the girls at customer service stopped chatting and said can I help you. I have now been shopping at Lowes in Oceanside for a few years. The service has always been pretty good, never anything to complain about. It's nice that if you ask where you can find an item you will most likely be escorted to it and the employee will have good knowledge about the options available. I highly recommend using the My Lowe's program. It tracks your purchases (great for tax time) and makes returns super easy. It's pretty nice not having to keep every receipt. I was most recently impressed with how well staffed the store was on Black Friday. I wouldn't normally target Lowe's as a hot spot on such a day, but it sure was nice to see that management thought about their customers, planned ahead and had every associate on their game. We called 5 times in the span of a half hour trying to inquire about the purchase of a refrigerator. 5 times we were supposedly connected to a department that could help and all 5 times the call went back to the operator after numerous minutes of ringing without anyone answering. The times we were in the store prior to that we found most of the employees hard to find and unable to help. And the women at the Customer Service counter almost always are almost never friendly and when trying to return something outright rude. Having dealt with Lowes stores across the nation for years this is the most poorly managed and staffed store ever! They really need to iron out their grill assembly and delivery process. Ordered grill for assembly and delivery. The assembly guy only comes in once a week ( Wednesday), so plan was for them to assemble on Wed and deliver on Saturday. On Wed I got message on machine asking if grill was supposed to be assembled. I was not there to answer so grill was not assembled. Receipt had assembly on it so not sure where confusion was. So I wait another week (because assembly guy only in on Wed). I even call day prior to ensure we were set. Was told grill was in assembly bay and grill was to be delivered the next day. Get call the next day saying that grill was out of stock. Not sure what happened to first one that they did not assemble or second one in assembly bay. Finally just got email rescheduling new delivery date but has wrong address on it. read more

Lowes I have had a terrible experience with the oceanside ca store. The issues start with my fridge order that was supposed to be delivered between 1-4pm on Monday 3/15. My brother in law took the afternoon off from work to get the fridge delivered and installed that day. He got a few phone calls early in the morning from unknown numbers and ended up answering one that was a delivery guy saying they were pulling away from the house and we missed our delivery window. This was around 9am that morning. We were not there. The guy insisted out delivery window was 8am-Noon. He was rude to my brother in law, making him feel dumb and then said he would do us a favor and not charge us to come out again between 8am-8pm the next day. I got home later and double checked, the online order and emails confirmed it was 1-4pm. We were lied to. This would not be the last time someone lied from lowes. Fridge got delivered the next day, with my brother in law once again now taking an entire day off work to stay around for the fridge. Installers were rude and rushed through the process. I was not able to get to the house until the next day, we are in the process of moving into a new home, and I found the fridge was not running right - not producing water/ice and not cooling much. I talked to samsung support and they diagnosed that the fridge was likely not installed properly and had me do a power cycle of the fridge to get it out of error state. This worked and the flashing lights on the inside stopped and it started cooling, but no water/ice still. I pulled the fridge out again and found that the water was not turned on by the installers...... so I turned it on and water started. Still no water coming to the ice tray, but I decided to give it 24 hours like the samsung support guy said. Next day, still no ice and after running the test feature on the ice machine, no water was dispensing still. Samsung agent once again told me this was likely due to the fridge not being installed/assembled right, as there are two water lines at the bottom of the fridge that send water to the ice maker and the water dispenser. This takes me to Sunday 3/21. I call the store wanting to talk to someone about the whole ordeal to this point...and I am told there is not a manager working today but that 1) someone from the appliances department would call me back that day to try walk me through some things and 2) a manager would call me first thing monday morning. Neither of these things happened. Two more lies. Still a fridge not working right. At this point I attempt to contact corporate during normal business hours. Lowes maintains extremely limited support hours...so I attempt to call in during my lunch, wait on hold for 40 min....and the phone just rings and rings and rings....no one ever answers the phone. So I call the store. It takes multiple attempts to get anyone to answer the phone at the store-- rings and rings then disconnects. I finally get ahold of someone. I try explaining my situation to someone once again, a supervisor/manager, he listens and says he wants to put me on hold and talk to someone from appliances and then transfer me to them to see if they can help me. He puts me on hold for about 10 min, and then comes back and says he will transfer me to someone who knows whats going on and can help me. I get transferred to someone who says "hello" and has no idea what I am calling about.... After this, I attempt to get in touch with the General Manager of the store, someone with authority--- as I am getting tired of explaining myself over and over again to staff and no one following through on anything, I am told he is at lunch. Another supervisor/manager once again says the GM will call me back after he gets back from lunch. Does not happen. General manager apparently is too important to talk to simple customers. Another time lied to. Someone finally calls me back a few hours later -- not offering to help or provide assistance --- but just to schedule a pickup of the fridge. Thats not really what I want, but I schedule it simply because if I can't get help, I dont want the fridge. After all of this, I get fed up enough with the lack of contact and lies from people, that I go down in person. I ask to see a manager....it takes an act of congress, but one finally comes to help me. I explain my whole ordeal to her, I think it was Rosie, and she takes me back to appliances. She says they will schedule out someone to come look at the fridge and help me. She also says we can work out a discount. Rather than taking her time to make sure things get done right, she goes to lunch -- a common theme here -- and has me wait at a desk for yet another person I am handed off to to come assist. I wait for awhile and this person comes, not fully understanding what is going on, so I explain it again and she says someone will call me today 3/23 to schedule and appointment to come look at the fridge the next day. I hate to give a bad review but I came to this place because of the convenience. I hate to do a comparison but Home Depot is by far way more helpful on the sales floor. I walked into Lowes, I couldn't find anyone and if I did they were at the end of the aisle. They would turn, look at me and walk away. Which lead to me chasing them down for help. This happened 3 times because I got different answers for each one. Finally the last guy was kind enough to walk me over and show me. But this outing took way longer then it needed to be. What happened to this place? I used to love this store. Management needs to hire cashiers and more workers. The next time there is only self check out... I'll leave my cart with the $500 in items near the customer service signs and walk out like I did at Home Depot. Not paying for cashiers is costing Lowe's business. Today I witnessed this poor older man using a electric wheel chair who had a horrible time paying for his one item with cash as he struggled to use self check out. This place is a disgrace. Listen Lowe's-- your customers don't work for you. The poor, few employees there are overworked and this place is woefully understaffed. Never order major appliances from Lowe's. Delivery service sucks. No heads up on when they'll show up. Huge time gaps(930-130) for delivery and they do not respond when you try to call the driver back. You basically have to take the whole day off of work for delivery of anything and wait by the door. They lied the first time on my washer and dryer delivery and said they waited an hour. I was in my garage with it open for over 3 hours waiting. Now I missed my fridge delivery also. 4 days I had to take off work just to get my orders. Do not recommend ordering any major appliances for delivery. read more

The flooring department has helped me tremendously! They were super speedy with coming out to measure my home for new carpet and I had a quote the same day! They do excellent work and have above and beyond great customer service. They really went out on a limb to help me and the price was amazing compared to their "competitor" All the staff in the store are actually very helpful and happy, but the flooring department takes the win! After years of shopping here and being bombarded with the constant blaring of the loud speaker I have finally stopped shopping at Lowe's. My last time at the store there were over 20 times someone was yelling into a store wide loud speaker. Not a good shopping experience. Home Depot stopped this practice years ago.
