I have I give credit where credit is due. Upon my last returning, I wasn't so fond of this Lowes, but this is closest Home Improvement Store to my house & I have a slight change in heart. Everyone knows doing any renovating to a home can be stressful especially if you really don't know what you're doing & before you know it you're starring in a new episode of Renovation Realities! First on checklist, Paint! I was greeted by Jeni who was nothing but helpful and friendly, and didn't mind spending the quality time that was needed! Next on the list, Electrical! I needed a new light fixture for my bathroom because there is no way I'm going to leave the outdated Home Builder's fixture up in my bathroom any longer. 20 years is good enough! I was greeted by Ken would asked me if I needed help and I said sure why not. I was torn between two light fixtures and I settled on one, only problem was they were out of stock. However I asked him if any nearby Lowes had any in stock & YUP there was 6 at the other Lowes! I also asked him if I wanted to put a dimmer in the bathroom, how would I go about that. He told me it was a lot easier than people think & although it sounded pretty simple, I still wasn't comfortable doing it with no previous electrical experience. After I finished gathering up all my materials, Ruben checked me out. Super friendly and fast service! This experience was a lot better than my previous one, so I'm pretty sure I will still keep coming back because I still have much more house reno to do! read more

Freaking Groundhog Day. I ordered a refrigerator from Lowe's on 8/18, and was told that it was backordered, but would be delivered on 9/26. This was fine - my refrigerator was operational and I could wait. I arranged to take the day off on 9/26 because I know that Lowe's doesn't give a delivery window until around 9 the night before. On 9/25 at 8:00, I received a phone call saying that my fridge wouldn't be delivered. I wasn't happy about this, because of the lack of notice and burned vacation day, but I went ahead and rescheduled the delivery for when they said the refrigerator would be in stock, 10/6. On 9/15, my husband and I went to Lowe's to buy a keypad lock. Before we went, we checked Lowe's website for their price match policy. We tried to get the price we found online matched and were told that Lowe's only matches local business, not online and definitely not Amazon. Google Lowe's price match - this is the first sentence: If you find a lower price on an identical item at a local or online retail competitor (including shipping and delivery fees), just bring us the competitor's current ad or show a printout, photo, smartphone display or app, and we'll match their price. After these two incidents, I sent an email to Lowe's customer service requesting that they make their price match policy on their website a little less deceptive, and letting them know that I was displeased about having to burn a vacation day based on their lack of timeliness informing me of their stocking difficulties. That same day, I got a phone call from someone purporting to be the manager of the Old Grove store. He clarified that they'll match Amazon prices if the item is sold/shipped by Amazon, but not if it's sold by a third party. He indicated that he'd make sure his cashier staff knew this policy going forward. He also apologized profusely for the refrigerator delivery issue and said that if there was going to be any difficulty with the rescheduled date, I'd be notified well in advance. Last night, the day before the fridge was to be delivered, at 8:20, I got a phone call telling me that it wouldn't be. Today, I went into Lowe's to cancel that refrigerator order and buy one that had a prayer of being delivered in this lifetime. While there, we also attempted to purchase something for my mother which had a lower price that was sold and shipped by Amazon. Same issue - no online price match and for sure no Amazon. Management backed up the cashier. So.....even though I prefer the atmosphere and proximity of Lowe's, I'll be taking my business to the Home Depot off of 76 and Melrose. read more

I typically have pretty good service at this store . Recently , I have noticed less and less employees. I ordered 120 bags of mulch online . We picked up 1 pallet with no issues . Waited until a weekday to pick rulo the remaining pallet . First they could not find the order . Now my husband has been waiting over an hour for them to get and load the product . He has asked to see or speak with a manager , over 20 minutes ago . It's been almost 2 hours and still no product . I think next time Home Depot May get our business . Used one salesman to order appliances, tile and fixtures for a kitchen remodel. One faucet ordered, was non returnable, so I'm stuck with it, even though the salesman didn't know it wasn't returnable. One item cancelled after 2 days, but no one notified me, or the salesman. I checked for a few weeks trying to get a Bosch dishwasher, but salesman always said they were all back ordered, then stopped by department one day, spoke with a young lady, and got me a dishwasher that was delivered the following were. When we lived in RB the closest home improvement store was Home Depot (.5 mi vs 2.5 mi for the newer Lowe's in Poway), so why would we go out of our way to go to the Lowe's for the same items? Now I wish we had gone out of our way. Lowe's seems like an upscale version of HD, and yeah the prices somewhat reflect that on certain items, but I can always get what we need here and the variety seems better than HD. This store is always clean, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Nice selection of plants and awesome selection of outdoor furniture. My biggest complaint, and the reason it doesn't get 5 stars, is because it seems that there is only ever one line open at any given time. Purchase an amazing washer dryer from Samsung a couple years ago and bought an extended warranty but the belt off of the dryer had broke so went through Lowe's extended warranty division to have a service technician come out. They sent an associate by the name of Javier M. and he was absolutely amazing at his job. He was quick, efficient, professional, and knowledgeable. Came in today to order carpet. Flooring guy Andrew was on phone with another customer for about 20 minutes while we patiently waited. We picked out the carpet on our own that we liked and were prepared to talk to him about ordering. When he got off phone he said he needed to help a customer first who had just walked up to him 3 minutes prior. I asked if he had been helping that customer previously as we've been waiting for at least 20 mins. He replied curtly that he just got off phone and he couldn't see who was first, despite the fact that we had talked to his coworker a few minutes prior and had been standing right in front of his desk. While waiting for another employee to open the spray paint cage, I offered an employee who was trying to help (but could not) $1000 cash if she could tell me why the decorative aluminum sheets I was planning to paint would not rust (she started telling me that she used spray paint to repair her rusty iron patio set). She was unable to come up with an answer . However she then took it upon herself to tell the next employee that I would extend to them the same deal, and I had to quickly correct her, clarifying that the offer was made to her (the first employee) only, and did not extend to another employee. The next employee could not be bothered and was impatiently rude and informed she had two customers waiting even though I told her I was in no particular hurry and willing to wait for her to help them first (she was still rude). Garden Center rarely has carts available for customers, they are either in the parking lot or in the main store so that customers have to hunt for them. Meanwhile employees are chatting together, being idle in the Garden Center. Managers need to ask their Garden Center employees to please retrieve carts and make them available for the customers. I had a work project that required a piece of tile that was completely smooth and had a glossy surface. I was greeted nicely by Luis at the front entrance. I proceeded to the flooring dept. where I easily found the tile I needed. I just needed a 12 X 24. I also needed to trim it to a smaller size and was looking for DYI options to do such. I noticed the tile cutter area and I was approached by Zach and Donelle. I asked whether anyone was available to cut and Zach was very accommodating and told me he was able to take care of my request as Donelle assisted. I ordered a refrigerator from Lowe's, their brand. I was unable to get any name brand because of the delay. My refrigerator quit. I went online, ordered it, got a delivery THREE days away, but okay. It came today, but was not delivered because the seals were torn inside the box. I know mistakes happen, but it is how you correct them that goes a long way to keeping customers happy. However, I called no more that 12 times about this delivery, then about the procedure to get a replacement and hopefully I could get it tomorrow. However, every call I made was unanswered. Finally, I went online, met Theresa, who helped me, explained that she could order a replacement but I would need to wait until Monday. She was efficient and I was able to text her. However, the "chat" screen would disappear and reappear. She was able to tell me to place the order myself to ensure I would get it because it would not keep the screen open for me to provide payment issues. Why? Once the delivery people get the shipment, they are not Lowe's employees, the service improved. I was texted approximate times twice. The driver said he doubted they would get me a new one today, but he thought tomorrow. He said to call Lowe's. I can only hope that they will refund the first one for non-delivery and deliver the replacement on Monday. Bad customer service experience ever !!!! Rude and unprofessional service. I am planning to buy vinyl fence at Lowe's and have them for installation . This was the first time I tried to have Lowe's service for our home improvement. I called the Lowe's in Oceanside to be scheduled for an estimate for our fence project at their phone # at 760-966-7140 , last Friday 12/22/2023 . The agent took all my info ( name, phone #, home address and email address) stating that she was unable to schedule so I have to give out my info to be in the system then waiting for someone who would reach out to be for a date and time to come to my house for an estimate . No phone call have been received I called the Lowe's store followings up with the status the agent told me waiting for her to check on the order and after a few mins, telling me my info was never in their system. I requested to speak to a supervisor . After another few mins, a female voice picked up the call , did not introduce her position then went a head asking my info. I had to ask "who are you", then she told me she is a Lowes manager, requested to have my info again to put into the system , told me I have to wait for another 24-48 hours to hear back from other /third party. Great service, great prices. I recently had a fence project underway in my backyard, where I had to come into Lowe's multiple times (x7) in one week to buy 2' x 4's, etc. Miguel was the person on the Lowe's team that helped me each time, and was great to work with. He had extensive product knowledge and also helped me lift/load wood, get everything over to the checkout area, and loaded into my car (not truck, so it was a bit of a challenge). I was impressed by the service, satisfied with the product/prices as it felt easy and hassle-free. This place is full of crap!! Ordered a fridge online. Received confirmation of order and delivery date! Day of delivery I emptied my fridge out- patiently awaiting.. Time goes by, hour after hour, called them around7:30pm yes 7:30 pm and they had the nerve to tell me they forgot my fridge wasn't on the delivery truck and will have to reschedule!!! Do not go to this store for flooring. Way overpriced. They have one contractor that they refer you to. That contractor elevates his fees because...he's not going to compete. Lowe's will just keep sending customers who son't know better. I recently got a quote with Dave in flooring @ Oceanside location. These guys are thousands more on a house that roughly measures 1,000 sq/ft. Literally, thousands....Carpet? Maybe?...tile, RUN!!!!! I almost laughed at the quote the gave me. I was going to give a 1-2 star rating because while Lowe's is filled with great employees, If you go in after 5-6pm you will have more luck finding a a relaxing and quiet place to read a book during a Quiet Riot reunion tour than someone to help you out. I rang the help bell in the plumbing aisle for 2 rotations... if you've been in LOWE'S you know this sounds off a magical store wide page for help... well, we all know magic doesn't exist... so after two pushes I gave up on that. I went up front to ask which size o-ring I would need for my ball Rod assembly (no pun intended). They directed me back to the badlands of toilets and sinks where only a few probable castings for walkers from The Walking Dead were milling about..., no employees though. So... what does one do? You get strong. I marched over to the O-ring section and noticed that there was a flap on the back of every o-ring package!!! HARK!!! I could open them all and try.... And try I did Yelp... try I did. I probably opened up around 30 packets before I finally found the ONE!!! As law of averages would have it, I was down to the last two that would look like they could fit. Moral of the story is... you don't need employees!!! The other day I went to my local lowes to purchase some blinds for my house. I pressed the button for assistance, an employee promptly came and told me she was working with another customer. I stated about how much longer, she stated about 5 more minutes. I asked if there was anyone else who could assist me with my purchase.... She said yes, I'll send her right over. The gal came over and stated " that if I needed blinds that need trim, that she does not know how to use machine; and I would have to wait. I told her that is unacceptable. I don't understand how only one employee can be authorized or certified on a machine. I proceeded to take my business down the street to Home Depot. There I was helped right away. She took care of business and I was on my way! That put a smile on my face.. Customer service goes a long way in a retail business. I hope this was an isolated incident. I hope management reads this and understands the customer's time is valuable. Employee should have handled situation differently. Delphina, in customer service and exchanges, went above and beyond today in order to issue a store credit. The items that I needed to exchange were purchased by former tenants, in order to make repairs easier for me no doubt, but the items purchased were incorrect size and were worthless to me, so I brought them back to Lowe's for a return WITHOUT A RECEIPT obviously. Without a receipt, Lowe's will no longer accept returns nor even issue a store credit. This was less than an ideal situation for me; however, since I knew the final move out dates of my former tenants, and figured correctly that the items were purchased in haste and likely on the last day in town, Delphina was able to use that date to match the items purchased with a credit card receipt and the name of my tenants, which was all that was needed to issue a store credit. She easily could have dismissed me and went on with her day, but instead took the time and made the extra effort to assist me and resolved the situation very satisfactorily on my behalf. ALL customer service providers should take the same pride and satisfaction in their jobs as Delphina!!! read more

I ordered / paid for carpet in early Nov. installers came 3 weeks later, not enough carpet, guy who meandered did so incorrectly, had measurement redone, went to Lowe's spoke with Andrew, Brandon and Charlie, my carpet was in stock and would be installed 11-14 days. I stopped by tonight (Thursday) for just a paint sample to cover up some scuff marks on my wall. A girl named Amilia Or Emilia? Was the only one sitting there on her phone. I had to interrupt her to ask her for the sample. She started with an attitude and tell me that it probably won't match (I just needed white not a big deal) and I told her it was fine. She seemed bothered. I stood there and waiting and she came to bring it to me except she tossed it on the counter and walked away before I could thank her let alone ask her another question?? I was too stunned to mention anything to another employee but it was actually very rude and I hope somebody can talk to her about her customer service because that was terrible. read more

I bought a dryer and the delivery service they used was not good. When I looked up DSI logistics they only had 1 star. They hooked up my dryer so fast that they did not hook it up properly and there was gas leaking! When I called to get it fixed I had to wait on hold with transfers and no one could help me. Luckily a Manger in lumber helped me. He said I would be first on their list to come and fix it, nope I'm third. I turned off the gas so we are safe. It's frustrating because I bought the dryer their because it was fast service. I will not be buying any more appliance from Lowes. read more

ATTENTION MANAGEMENT! This is a plea to the management at Lowe's to please, manage your employees. If I were a corporate executive I would be appalled at the horrendous feedback this store gets from its' customers. I know the execs care, why don't the store managers? My wife an I bought a brand new 5 bedroom house in Oceanside exactly three years ago. I mention those details about our house just to highlight that fact that when we moved in, we had A TON of projects. You'd imagine that with a new house you wouldn't have many projects, but quite the opposite is true. The backyard was dirt, we had no ceiling fans/lights, no blinds...just a very blank new house. So, you can probably imagine how much time and money we would be dropping at our local hardware store as we "customized" our house throughout the years. Although Home Depot, was equidistance to us, we chose to go with Lowe's... And so for the last three years I've become quite familiar with my local Lowe's, and it's employees. I might as well mention now that the additional star is simply for several fantastic employees at the store. Unfortunately, these few pleasant and helpful employees represent a sever minority. I will also mention that I could name several worthless employees by name, but am not in the business of getting people fired. I could also go on and provide several anecdotes about my trials at Lowe's, but will sum up my three years of experience like this: it's clear that there are several employees at this store that simply have a problem helping people. These grouchy people almost go out of their way to make you feel like you have no business taking on (insert project here). Moreover, it's generally the older male type that will make you feel this way, despite the fact that you probably know more, or have more experience than they do. Bottom line is this. If you are a potential customer looking for a good home improvement store, please go to Home Depot. If you are an employee at Lowe's, just be helpful. You know, customer service? And lastly, if you are a manager at this store, you should probably get it together before someone above you catches on to these Yelp reviews and replaces you with someone who will actually manage the store's employees. read more

Well being right next to Camp Pendleton most customers are Marines. So I'd say DON'T use this store. Your 10% discount can be found elsewhere. I had the worst service for my security door install. We went to the Oceanside Lowes on 09/01/2014. We paid for two security doors and install. We were never contacted by Lowes to schedule an appointment. My wife called several times to set up an appointment for install. The install was scheduled at the earliest on 09/30/2014. After the install, my wife saw gaps and asked about sealing the gaps. The installer and her agreed to having a bug guard and insulation installed at a later time. The appointment was set up for 10/11/2014. My wife confirmed the appointment for insulation and bug guard installation. On the day of the appointment, Kevin(the installer)called and was running late. Our appointment was between 1400-1600hrs. He arrived late at 1700hrs. He stated that he was not sure about the appointment. When asked about the bug guard and insulation, he stated that "these doors are to keep people out, not bugs". He then stated that if I wanted insulation for the door, I could go to Lowes and pick it up. He showed me a small piece of insulation. He then stated that we could schedule another appointment for the install. I was surprised about him stating that I should go and purchase the insulation and/or schedule another appointment. I had been waiting all day for me to go to the store and/or schedule another appointment and wait. We have been waiting for over a month for an unfinished job. That is unacceptable. I live equidistant from 2 Home Depot's and a Lowes and really don't much care which I go to for general things like wood and hardware. When it comes to tools, both power and hand I prefer Home Depot simply because I find more sets than here. It's easier to get in and out of Lowes and their outdoor patio selection, BBQ stuff. This is what I liken HD vs. Lowes to. HD is better for indoor stuff and Lowes is better for outdoor stuff. Also Lowes is more of a clean and bright set up rather than a hot, old ,dusty warehouse. I have been to this store in probably 4 occasions in the past month as I am doing a home project. Out of the 4 times I have been in the store, yesterday was an extremely wonderful experience. I met Employee, Rob Mays( not sure of the spelling). This gentleman went way out of his way to help me get everything I needed for my project. I came in the store wearing a boot on my foot from surgery and Rob just had me stand still why he ran from aisle to aisle getting me everything. He even walked me over to the lumber department and set me up with Jordan to cut my plywood.
