Bought a washer & dryer. The sale was quick and efficient, Cecil (sales person) was knowledgeable and funny. Delivery people were amazing, clean, polite and took the extra time to walk us through how the machines worded, etc. Sadly, the machines we bought stopped working after the second load and had to be returned. When we when back to the store to purchase another set we met James Devery who was nothing short of amazing. He helped us with the return and the purchase of a new set. I have to say, I love this Lowes for a good bargain and good, kind service. My husband and I have bought all - and I mean ALL - our appliances there for our house and the basement apartment in our home. I will say that delivery of all but one appliance was awesome (the last appliance arrived with some scratches (otherwise my rating would be a 5), but they didn't show much at all when installed and returning a dishwasher seemed like a hassle. That said, the service in the appliance department is great. The same with lighting. And, my favorite department: garden. Kim in gardening remember us when we come in and asks how our yard is going(we've been to Lowes a lot with our home and apartment remodel), and Paul has horticultural training so can help you select the best fertilizer/pesticide/herbicides for the job. We've shopped at this Lowes even though HD is closer to our home because of their impeccable service. Even though it is a big box store, it feels like a local Ma and Pa store. That said, I DO have to say that there is a local ACE store that rivals (and exceeds) them for service - partly because they are always well-staffed and approachable (indeed they even approach you to ask how they can help). Both of these stores are awesome in the service department and I would hands down go to them over HD. read more

I ordered a front door through this store and it was a terrible experience. They told me 3-4 weeks and it took 8. I had to call to check on everything because they never called me. The said they would compensate me for my troubles and gave me a 10% discount. I had to call several time to get this. It's like dealing with a bunch of High School kids. I was restoring my mid century kitchen and went in looking for copper hinges to match the existing and found they aren't commonly used anymore. A lovely man named Craig took quite a bit of time helping me to find an online source that sold them. He was waaay more helpful than the employees from the *other* box store, as well as the handful of specialty stores I went into who seemed bothered by my existence. Lowes In the Bitter Lake area has gone down in customer service. We ordered Kitchen cabinets and told the salesman, that we wanted oak. The cabinet sides are veneer. We have been in dispute for a year. They don't return phone calls. For a year we have been living without a good counter-top. The account was closed today and I will never shop there again. Home Depot upped their on-the-floor customer services. And I can always get a store manager if there is a problem. read more

I'm new here is a frequent answer when staff members are asked to assist customers. Don't put people on the warehouse floor that aren't trained or make them partner with a longtime employee. Because when I have to train your employees as I'm reading the instructions on various products, it's a colossal waste of my time. read more

I moved to the Seattle area in 2009 and initially started going to the Bitter Lake Home Depot, but after several poor customer-service experiences there, I ended up going to Lowes and found them to be much more responsive. Both stores sell essentially the same stuff at the same price, so I'd rather reward the store that has better customer service. That said, they're not perfect, but I don't think any large chain is ever worthy of 5 stars. Also, I recommend getting the Lowes card to get a 5% discount on everything. read more

We purchased a Rubbermaid modular shed at Lowes over the weekend and the package did not contain screws/instructions, which I believe can be blamed on Rubbermaid ultimately. I called and politely complained and requested a discount and/or coupons. The assistant manager working at the time (Derrick) assured me he would straighten things out for us and listened professionally when I voiced our issues with the product and purchase. Customer service then gave us a significant direct cash discount when my husband returned the shed to pick up the new one... really, it doesn't get any better than this! So I totally disagree with the recent reviewer that this is a "giant box store". That was not our experience at all. Also, I noted the lighting section in Lowes is way more interesting and aesthetically diverse as compared to Home Depot nearby. read more

04-14-2014 yesterday I was in line at lowe's waiting to purchase some items for gardening on our glorious sunny day. a very concerned customer came in and said that there was a truck in the parking lot with the windows closed that contained two dogs in severe distress. with the temperature at 70 degrees it seems insane that someone would leave dogs in a car, particularly with the windows closed. she asked one of the clerks to page the truck's owner, shortly thereafter a manager showed up and said that "it is not lowe's policy to engage customers on such issues." she argued with him. she described the condition of the two dogs. she begged him to page but he just kept repeating "it is not Lowe's policy to engage customers on such issues". she stormed out demanding that she would never bring her business to lowe's again. i did the same. clearly lowe's prefers to keep the business of individuals who would lock their dogs in the car on a hot day than the business of those customers who would attempt to save them. BOYCOTT LOWE's AND THIS POLICY! 04-15-2014 i contacted lowe's corporate office. they confirmed that this is absolutely not a policy. the bitter lake store general manager followed up with me immediately, assuring me that he would educate all staff about this incident and about how to handle situations of this nature. He said that that they in fact are very concerned about individuals who leave dogs and/or children in cars unattended. he was prompt, professional and seemed genuine. read more

Re carpet installation: the boys in the carpet department were grouchy, took forever to get back to me, kept losing my info, and just basically seemed inept. They insist you buy new padding whether you need it or not -- which in our case more than doubled the cost. And the cost was high. I didn't hire them for the job; didn't trust for one minute that they would do a good job or cared about the business. Am taking my hard earned bucks elsewhere. read more

This store and their management ARE HORRIBLE. DO NOT BUY CARPET OR anything else from this store. I hope this store closes down. There is a Home Depot just two blocks south actually has customer service and its wonderful. My wife and I purchased carpet from the Lowes on 125th and what a mistake that was. I spent hours out of my day off on the day they installed to fix their mistakes only to find out they still provided me the wrong carpet which we didnt find out until we went in to try to get momre of the carpet. Worst customer service ever. I ordered some item from online and shipped to this store. But the stupid online system charged me twice. I waited a long time more than 3 weeks, and I never received the item, so I canceled it through the customer service. No credit back either !!!! I called the store, the front desk "supervisor" yelled at me saying that they have refunded the amount to me! Really??liar?? I called my bank, and it never hit my bank account. As a result, I have to dispute it through my bank. Terrible customer service, low skill worked. They don't even know how to hit the "refund button" on their system either. I think they just "documented" the refund but never really "did" it. read more

I shop at Lowes once in while and the best experience I have is always at this location. Ther is a worker by the name a Nadine I believe she's a cashier but I think she is the most nice and responsible worker at the store. When I come in she always try's to help find anything if she is available. I think because of her hard effort this store deserves no less then 5 stars. Went to Lowe's on 125th and Aurora today at 1:30PM wanting to discuss kitchen cabinets and countertops, and to schedule an in home appointment. We are ready to redo our kitchen.. Waited several minutes in the display area for assistance. Went and found someone that was shoiwng another customer trash cans. I asked if there was anyone on duty in kitchen area and he checked and said there was, but maybe they were at lunch. Could I come back later? (really?) He must have sensed how absurd that sounded as he said that George should be back any time and he wuld page him. At 2:30, I left. Never was helped. Where was George, taking a nap? I left a note summarizing my experience and said I was on way to Home Depot - call me if they wanted me to come back. Left my name and number. 2 1/2 hours later, still no call. I have to conclude that I wasted an hour of my life. I went to Everegreen Cabinets and Granite and received great service. They will be here at 11:30 AM tomorrow. Will I ever go to Lowe's again? I ordered a wall-mounted GE microwave/oven online from Lowes. I also requested installation. The unit was delivered from the store to my home okay. There was confusion about the installers. They came for initial inspection. An older GE microwave/stove was to be replaced with the new one of exactly the same dimensions. They measured incorrectly and wanted to add an extra $100 for cutting the opening larger. I contacted the salesman who waved the extra cutting fee on the condition that no cutting was necessary. When installers came they first removed the old unit to their truck. They then couldn't figure out how to install the new unit - they said it required a licensed electrician and they were not qualified. (One would think if you sent an installer to install an electric stove, which required a hard-wired electric connection, the installer would be qualified to do that!.) They refused to bring our old unit back so we could at least have a working microwave and oven - said they were not allowed to do that - leaving us without a microwave and oven. The installers also said we would have to pay for an installation even though they did not install anything. I then contracted with an electrician who came, made the hard-wire connection without any additional wiring and installed the unit - no problem. I contacted Lowes' customer service and they agreed not to bill us for the (non)installation. Bottom line: NEVER have Lowes install anything. They contract installations to outside contractors who are not qualified, and there is little or no communication between the store and the installers. I will no longer do any business with Lowes! read more

how can a hardware store not have a saw working in the lumber dept??? went to the store on saturday morning, loaded up my cart with items and then headed over to get the wood that i needed cut to size. when i go to the guy in lumber, he looks at me like he doesn't understand what i'm asking, then tells me the saw is broken. i don't know, maybe walk to the other side of the store and get a new saw! i went to complain at the customer service desk and although she stared blankly, she did acknowledge that they are aware the saw wasn't working. they've always had bad customer service, but this is just too ridiculous. i left my full cart and walked out and i won't be going back. read more

I didn't buy anything. I went ready to purchase a washing machine. It was about 7 pm and few people were in the store. I walked through the kitchen remodel part and four red-vested employees were talking and seemingly having a good time. I continued back to the washers and a nice fellow came from behind the counter and said hello and kept walking. I never saw him again. I did a nice survey of the washers reading all the prices and cubic feet etc. Sort of meandered over to dishwashers and then refers. Still no one. Finally, I meandered out of the store meeting up with the emergency exit. Realizing it was the emergency exit, I turned to walk half-a-store to the regular exit when an employee carded open the emergency exit and went through without so much as a glance my way. So I tagged along. I'm elderly and use a cane so it was nice to be able to go out the emergency exit. That was the best part of my visit to Lowes. I think I'll look for an appliance store. read more
