I have a bone to pick with the lowes on Rural and Baseline Rd in Tempe. I am an electrical contractor and I understand the slow down in sales and business. I had purchased trims from the Lowes at I10 and Ray which had been marked down to half price. I needed 4 additional trims which inventory showed they had but they weren't found. They called over to their "sister" which showed 13 units in stock. They sent me over to pick up the remaining needed trims directly after purchasing the last of Ray's stock. The units at the Baseline store were not clearanced and they would not honor their own price from another store though I had my receipt in hand showing the lower price. I've never had a problem like this with Home Depot. Frankly, I am a little disappointed that in a time when sales are slow, a company won't bend over backwards to accommodate a customer. This is my very first review anywhere on the net. I was so impressed with the customer service I received at the Lowe's store on Baseline in Tempe that I wanted to pass this experience along. I recently had Lowe's install new cabinets and granite countertops in my kitchen and both bathrooms. The quality was by far better than I expected, and the cost was very competitive. My place now looks amazing and I have just one employee to thank for the success of this whole project, Amanda in Kitchen Cabinets. She (and Lowe's) exceeded my expectations in every possible way with this project. First, Amanda made it clear from day one that Lowe's had my back. I had some issues with the contractor that installed the granite countertops. Basically, the contractor took some short cuts with the backsplashes that I was not at all happy with. I was getting nowhere with the contractor and I felt they were trying to give me the brush-off. I can tell you that once she heard from me about this, she was all over that contractor. She told the contractor in no uncertain terms to get the job done to my satisfaction without further delay (yes, I saw the email). I am glad she was on my side! Needless to say, it was then resolved promptly without any further push back from the contractor (no headaches for me!). This is what I liked best, Lowe's was in my corner and Amanda was always on my side. Second, Amanda gave me as much attention as I needed to answer all my questions. I probably was a pain when compared to most customers, but she was with me ever step of the way, and took as much time with me as I needed. She kept me updated with different scenarios and the impact on costs throughout the entire decision-making process. Often, I would decide to backtrack on a previous decision I made and make changes that probably caused Amanda additional work. I never felt she was annoyed with me, or that I was being rushed. I am an Accountant by trade and I ask a heck of a lot of questions when it comes to my money. I prefer to get as much detail as I can get my hands on. After working with her, I can say that I trust her completely. She always kept me aware of any discounts I was entitled to, and helped me structure the project to take advantage of pricing promotions when available. I believe I got more than my money's worth on this. I highly recommend Amanda if you have a kitchen or bathroom project. Just stop in and visit her once and you will know exactly what I am talking about. read more

Terrible customer service. Got a gift card for Christmas, we used it on curtains. I got valences as well and decided against them. I returned the valences and had to get 2 more curtains to fit our giant window. They struggles with the return. Then- my husband accidentally got the ring color and had to go back. Since the return was done that day they said they couldn't do another one and he had to BUY the right color without the refund for the wrong color. He goes back the next day- they can't find the transaction, so even though we had paid for these curtains with our debit card and not the gift card- they gave us store credit. I'm irritated- but fine. I go in a couple days late to use the store credit. I can't because it's attached to my husbands license, so I am unable to use it without him..... fine. (Not really but whatever) we buy a curtain rod with the store credit, get Home- it is missing the hardware. *face palm* so I have to get a new return, and I can't find that rod so I have to get a different one.... they can't find the transaction.... after telling her the other items I bought she did eventually find it- Just really awful experience all the way around. I had to spend waaaaay more money in that store than I should have. But I'm never going back, so I guess they won't get any more out of us. read more

I've always had good experiences here, but yesterday was the best. I had to buy a washer and dryer online from Lowe's because we needed a gas dryer and they don't sell them in stores. There was a large rebate offered on the appliances, but the wording was misleading and I was told (via mail)that my purchase was ineligible. I went to Lowe's and Gail in the appliance department called the rebate phone # for me and helped me figure out the problem. It turned out I was not eligible. She took me to the managers and asked them how they would interpret the wording and they agreed that it was misleading. The manager, Art, met me halfway on the rebate by crediting my account. He didn't have to do that, and I appreciate his fairness. This Lowe's will be my go to store for home improvement and gardening. read more

This was the worst service I ever received. While my husband was waiting to check out at the pickup window (for 20 minutes), I decided to get a key made at the kiosk. The machine spit out medal with no ridges. So I went to a Lowe's employee, and asked for help. They waved me off to the hardware employees. I stood in line for 15 minutes and then they helped the person standing behind me. I waited another 15 minutes and was told I couldn't get a refund from the kiosk. This store is all about blatantly avoiding customer service. No wonder people go to Home Depot! I learned my lesson - please avoid this store at all costs - shop online, go to Home Depot, consider any other alternative! read more

Never buy an exterior door from Lowe's In Goodyear AZ We purchased an exterior fiberglass door from Lowe's (#1553) on April 20, 2019 to have installed at a rental property. One month later, on May 30th, they were finally able to get a company to install the door after multiple calls to Frank (project specialist) and Julie (service clerk in door department). Most of the time we received no call back when we left messages or their voicemail box was full and we could not leave a message. The install company, Desert Sun Construction, was just as bad at contacting us. We had requested a peep site for the door for tenant safety and you guessed it...they forgot to install the peep hole, although it is clearly written on the contract!!! So here we are on June 14 (almost 2 months after purchase) and we are playing phone tag with Frank and Julie again!! So today I decided to go to Lowe's and speak with the manager...what a waste of my time. First the customer rep did not know who the manager was for the day. She finally called someone to talk with us, but they never bothered come to customer service. After waiting a period of time, I decided to go home and look up the customer care number for Lowe's and let them know what I think of their service and hopefully get our peep site! Then I thought it would be nice to let everyone know what SAD service Lowe's provides to their paying customers. read more

Tubing for a drip system in my garden is not in gardening; it's in plumbing. I guess that makes sense as I'm putting a plumbing system in my garden, or at least my wife is. Light bulbs are not in lighting; they are in a separate light bulb section. Not sure how to rationalize that one, but changing light bulbs is all me, in case you were wondering. And so it goes in the aisles of Lowes that feel more like a maze with dead ends, trick turns, and no end in sight. I would end up blaming myself if customer service weren't lacking. It seems to be hit or miss with few hits. The best thing Lowes has going is a convenient location. read more

This is a relatively small Lowe's compared to the one at Price and Chandler. Went here a few times and they recommended to go to the other one to find what I was looking for. Good for simple stuff, but I would recommend calling ahead to see if they have what you are looking for. read more

I had called lowes to confirm a service they provide, but upon arrival they told me they couldn't help me. If you can imagine I was pretty upset as I took time out of my day and made to the trip to get they service I had called about only to find out that they wouldn't honor it. After discussion with several members of the staff and the management we were able to come to a compromise and they took care of me. I am giving this lowes 4 stars, because of the high level of customer service they provided even though I was visibly upset. They were patient and understanding and worked with me to resolve the problem. I will continue to give lowes my business as I appreciate them for taking the time to understand the situation and come up with a solution. read more

I have shopped extensively at this Lowes store since its opening. Buying products from paint, garden, plumbing, electrical and building materials departments. The plumbing department manager has gone out if his was on several trips to ensure I purchased the correct product and if they didn't carry it recommend another industry vendor. The electrical department went the extra mile in looking over an electrical project, making suggestions and providing me the direct number to the product vendor to confirm compatibility. The building materials department managers and employees took extensive time (read hours) to research multiple options to ensure my window and door project reached all of my objectives from costs, quality, style and to gov't rebates. The painting department has also provided multiple tips, going to the extreme to explain the actual color components (in the paint code) that make up some of the sample chips available. Yeah, I visit Lowes a bit too often, but if its wrong they make it right and if you ask they always try their best to figure it out or point you in the right direction. I ordered a unitized washer / dryer. When I ordered deliver was set for Friday. Without contacting me, apparently Lowe's changed the delivery date to Saturday. Lowe's then left me a voicemail on Thursday asking to move the date up from Saturday to Friday. I returned their call at the number they provided, but nobody answered, so I left a voicemail indicating that would be better for me. Friday comes and nobody shows, nobody calls. After the fourth call to their delivery center on 2 different business days that went unanswered, I called the main Lowe's phone number and spoke with a manager who told me that it was currently scheduled for Saturday. For $1500 I would expect to received consistent contact on delivery date changes. A day I cannot work because I'm waiting for them to show up increases the effective cost of the machine by more than 10%. And is it so much to ask that their delivery service answer even 1 in 3 (or even 1 in 4??) phone calls? Especially after they asked me to call back? read more

What a joke. 5th time I've visited this location recently for random home improvement tips and hardware... 5th time I was extremely disappointed. Each time I'm faced with an "expert" that tells me that they have no idea how to fix what I'm talking about. Looking for something to repair the ceiling fan light, an older employee walked over to offer help, but not WITHOUT a nasty attitude. You may as well buy the new ceiling fan for the price, she says. NO, there's nothing wrong with the fan, it's the light I need to replace and she responds with more attitude and tells me to visit the lamp store, where I run into another customer Lowe's directed there and did NOT HELP. One of the supervisors was chastising an employee for their lousy attitude and the employee sat there, UNGRATEFUL to have a job, looking like they couldn't care less about their bad attitude towards customers. yikes! Got great service at HOME DEPOT on 54th. The help there was friendly, informative, and HELPFUL!!!! Why is Lowe's still around? If they lack the knowledge to offer, at least have a great attitude and be glad you have a job. read more

I'm going to back up Cheryl, Nicole is awesome in the paint department. She managed to custom match an aged copper patina onto a wall sconce that I mangled with spray foam insulation. It now perfectly matches it's pair and I am FINALLY out of the dog house. Amir, Bob also in paint, just spectacular with helping me out on a large custom order, 30 gals, as well. I forgot to get 1 small item and yes, I'll drive 8 miles out of my way this afternoon to go back to this Lowes just because of how well the staff treated me, Robbie helping load it, Adele (sic) working her magic. They do not care about the customer, treat their customers like they're burdens interrupting their workday, and this location in particular has a very poor inventory. I had several 5 gallon paints mixed here and one of them was mixed the wrong color. I took it back and was given a brand new 5 gallon bucket of paint as an exchange without any hassle. I had read up about it online and was worried they wouldn't help even though I gave the guy the exact numbers to mix that Lowe's did from a previous project. They were awesome about it and it was no fuss. Also bought all of my flooring here special ordered and have had nothing but good luck thus far every time I've went. The person responsible for taking out the self service check out should be fired. I used to go to Lowes at least twice a week.sometimes one or two items, sometimes two carts full. wiz through the self serve and out I go. Now without fail, I wait in line. I'm not shy, stnding in line I make it clear to the sloooooooow clerk that I'm displeased at the wait. At least 90% of others waiting in line agree that they miss the self serve. If it weren't bad enough, the management (Chris) tells these very special individuals to lie to us and say "due to customer complaints" or "we listen to our loyal customers" Bull@#$% Iv'e confided in a couple of employees now and they"ve told me, they were taken out due to theft of merchandise. So add another employee at the door. DO NOT LIE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!!!! Because I am in need of materials so ofted and Lowes is next door, I still go every once in a while. The selection and prices are very comparable to Home Depot. Home Depot still has self check out and tells me they have no intension of getting rid of it. That's just the way it has been for a couple of years now. Until.......... Yesterday, checking online sites for an a/c unit, I tried to look at Lowes, and their site was down. No big deal. I called the Rural and Baseline store, Has anybody seen the Keystone Cops? OMG. FIVE transfers later, a man picks up and says (hello). thats it. No my name is or this is the blank dept. I'm done. Home Depot is only two miles away at Priest and Baseline. I've had enough of Lowes. I tried, I just cant handle the daycare store any more. read more

$7.94 for a bag of 50 1/4" "T" irrigation emitters struck me as unreasonable, but I was in the middle of a job and didn't have the time or energy to run around comparing prices. The next day, while at Ace Hardware at Broadway and Rural, I saw a bag of 50 emitters for $5.59. And two days later, I saw that Home Depot had them for $4.96. I understand that price variability exists between retailers, but charging nearly $8.00 for a product that probably cost all of 35 cents to manufacture and ship struck me as sheer greed. Lowes does price match, as the manager reminded me, but he also added that a prominent electronics store up the street charges $80 for a 10' audio cable (so apparently, in his eyes, gouging consumers is acceptable because other retailers do it.) Taking advantage of Lowes' price-matching policy requires extra stops, and I think that consumers would prefer that store policy merely offer reasonably priced goods. Prices that are 60% higher than the primary competition are not reasonable. And I suspect that most people would think that a major retailor such as Lowes would be able to offer better prices than a smaller volume neighborhood store like Ace Hardware. On the plus side, the Lowes staff that I dealt with was knowledgeable and helpful - especially the man in plumbing. However, I can't shake the feeling that Lowe's can't be trusted to serve my interests. This store is in my neighborhood, but the lingering sour taste in my mouth means that I will be shopping elsewhere. read more

The worst customer service! I had an appointment today to have someone come out to measure for new windows. First it took TEN days to get the appointment, I left work early to get home on time, when the person didnt show up I called the store. I was told I "slipped through the cracks" and they would have to reschedule. Screw that! Home Depot is right down the street. They sell windows too. I'll NEVER shop at Lowe's again! read more

Do not buy your Carpet from Lowes. They Lowes staff is excellent but the 3rd party team they use to install (at least in the Tempe, Baseline Store). Is highly unprofessional and unapologetic. Nice people, but, were late several times, on installation day parked behind the garage door so I couldn't get out, installed the carpet towards the entrance first. so they were constantly walking on the new carpet while finishing the other rooms, my shower curtain rod was moved, toilet paper roll was missing, base boards damaged not scuffed, carpet not consistently pushed under the base boards. They sent someone out and offered to give me some touch up paint. and said the install was fine and the furniture would "cover it up". I am just said ok because I was tired of dealing with non-professionals. Again the sales people at lowes were great, but that was totally undone by the installation team. read more

Hi this is my first review! I am glad to write about this particular Lowe's location in Tempe. Normally I shop at Home Depot and on most occasions I am very satisfied with my choice to shop there. However Lowe's has been advertising a new product called the Kobalt Double Drive screwdriver. I was intrigued when I saw the infomercial and decided to go down to Lowe's to get it. I was shocked to see how clean this store was. Every employee that I walked by to get to the tool department greeted me and asked me if I needed any help. One of the cashiers was very helpful in getting me in contact with a Tools associate. Brandon was very helpful and polite. He informed me that the Double drive was a very fast selling item and that the stores were only given so many to sell, but I was in luck. He told me that 2 were just returned that day and that he would go to his desk to get it for me. I asked if I could have both knowing it was such a fast selling tool. He said absolutely! Not only that but they had a leftover display that he let me play with just to make sure I knew how to use the tool properly. I don't think I could recall a time where I had such a good experience shopping at a Hardware store but this particular Lowe's has made be a believer! Keep up the good work! read more

WORST.CUSTOMER.SERVICE. Went here to buy 2 items- bathroom vanity lights and Rustoleum paint refinishing kit for bathroom cabinets. As I was standing in the aisle, looking at the light dislplay, two dipshit employees rolled over the motorized ladder thing DIRECTLY in front of me, climbed off of it and walked away. Left that huge thing right in front of me! RUDE. Then I went to the paint counter to ask about the Rustoleum kit, and the employee said, "It's over there on the floor halfway down the aisle," and walked away. RUDE. Don't bother to help a customer or actually do your job at any point. When I went to pay, the cashier pointed out that I had selected the wrong kit, and she went to help me find the right one and then made sure I had the base coat tinted before I left the store (something the other girl did not even mention). So she was the one bright star in an otherwise dim store. Save yourself some frustration and go somewhere else. read more
