Horrible customer service. There was a rug that did not have a tag on it and when I brought it up to "customer service", she just kept saying "I don't know how I'm even going to ring this up". Then I stood there with my two young kids, waiting for a half hour for her to try and look on the website to find the rug, she gave no indication of what the outcome would be or when she would have an answer for me, so I had to leave without the rug. The fact that she couldn't just ring me up or ask a manager or someone for help and how to best serve the customer standing in front of them, is not the kind of customer service that I would have hoped for. Lowe's is my go to handy store! Their staff is always so friendly. I personally know nothing about tools or house fixtures, but every time I have a question they are always so quick to provide an answer and show me where things are located in the store. I typically go here with my fiance so I dont have to cause a ruckus for the staff but none the less, they are awesome!!! Also, they are rather clean for being a hardware, house ware & DIY store. Wildly dishonest cabinet sales department. We purchased all new cabinets on June 6, 2021. The salesman promised delivery by August. It is now mid-November. The cabinets arrived in our city - but Lowes gave the shipping company the wrong address! Now the shipping company is telling us it will be at least another week before they arrive. I had ordered an item online for pickup 2 days ago and it has said it would be ready for pick up the next day. I waited until late evening to call and i got directed to a lady for the right department where she sounded a bit irritated. I had asked about my online order and if i was able to come in and pick it up because i didnt have time later that night and would be unavailable the next couple days due to work. She had asked if i was directed to the right department and i had said yes. She then i'm pretty sure she redirected me to another line or put me on hold and proceeded to hang up on me after 2 minutes. I had called back later on and the guy who picked up had told me there was a delay and it's not guaranteed i'll get it that same day but he GUARANTEED I would still be getting my item. This morning I woke up to a email and text telling me my item was out of stock and I had to either pick it up at a different store which was 30 minutes away, select a different item, or cancel my order entirely. I originally wanted to pick it up at a different store even though it was 30 minutes away, but they wanted to charge me extra for changing my pick up location. That is absolutely ridiculous that they would charge me to pick it up at a different store when they were out of stock and I was told by an employee I would be getting the item for sure. read more

I have not put in a review before for Lowe's but felt I had to do a review for my recent purchase on baseline/Rual store. I had gone in and purchased a Hummingbird feeder and a bag of bird seed about 2 weeks ago with cash. I had no intentions of returning the items and had tossed out the receipt. Then I went back to the store couple days later really liked the hummingbird feeder and purchased 2 more. Now I had a total of 3e. About a week went by I came out to my patio and sugar water was everywhere on my patio. All 3 of the hummingbird feeders were defective I spent 20.00 a piece on the hummingbird feeder you think you would get a decent item for $20.00. Now moving forward to today. I have spent a lot of money at this Lowe's over the years redone my home and purchased lots of stuff from them appliances, lawn and garden and redone my bathrooms. I have not been in the store within the last 2 years but wanted to buy a hummingbird feeder and that is what brought me to the store. I took all 3 items into the store to return. I had a receipt for 2 and the third one I paid cash with the lost receipt. I was very nice explained to the cashier the situation right off the bat she was rude and mean and very unfriendly. I did get the 2 items refunded but the 3rd they would not refund or exchange the item for a new one. I understand I do not have a receipt but to be so rude and mean about it you just don't deserve my business anymore I refuse to shop at Lowe's ever again. Is it worth losing a customer over $20.00 purchase? I guess it is they don't care to be helpful. They could see the item was defective and it should have been sent back to the manufacturer because the item clearly broken when they sold it to me. The store looks like a ghost town no employees anywhere to be found and when you do try to ask for help they could care less basically point the finger say the isle to find your item. The Lowe's in Tempe, AZ has pretty good customer service overall comparatively speaking. The employees for the most part are friendly and make a reasonable amount of effort to help you locate things or offer solutions to particular home improvement issues you may currently have at the time. I think this store is a bit understaffed at times and could use more workers in the various departments to help with customer service needs. The garden department seems to be well stocked with seasonal plants, trees, and other items. read more

We've been to this Lowes quite a few times. It's easy to navigate through the aisles, and we usually find what we need with no problem.

Just left the store after asking that an associate demand another patron wear a mask, as is Lowe's posted protocol and Tempe's current mandate. The associate (working in paint, white, overweight, black mask) said he refused to uphold the mandate because the sheriff wouldn't do it. Then proceeded to assist the non-mask wearing person and then ignore me as if I was the person in the wrong. All this as the announcement of how Lowe's cares about our safety was playing throughout the store. Will definitely be my last trip to a company that doesn't hold its employees accountable, and is so cavalier with people's lives. BooYah to Rick in the garden department here. The Lovely and I went in search of frost tolerant trees and were directed to Rick. It was 110' and he was full of energy and knowledge and we left with two large Rosewood trees based on the information he gave us. So pleased to have access to that kind of help just down the street - not to mention the trees!! They always have my AC filters and are a good paint resource as well. I'm a fan; will always take Lowes over Home Depot and so far anyway, I haven't had issues with not being able to find what I need. read more

This review is based off of the incompetent online team and the tempe store as well. I ordered some appliances online to be delivered by the tempe store for my kitchen remodel. Very very long and upsetting story made slightly shorter, I was charged by lowes over nine times for 2 appliances. That equates to $2700 worth of charges for the $700 I was actually supposed to pay. I called the store on a daily basis trying to sort things out properly and it took over a week. No one actually talks to one another/communicates/leaves notes in the computer about problems. Finally I was connected to a manager who was competent and got things sorted out. What a nightmare. Once I was refunded the screw up charges I set delivery for a week from the day. Gosh darn it, wouldn't you know that the very next day, while at work, I got a call that they were delivering that day!?! Had to call and yell at some.more people to get the date scheduled again, correctly this time. That said, the only silver lining was that the appliances were delivered at the exact time they quoted by two very professional and friendly guys. read more

Covid 19 aware my arse! Customer service reps not wearing masks, not staying 6' from one another or the customers. I just was there today and asked CS rep a question in the paint dept as he walking toward me, I was wearing a mask he wasn't. He walked right up in my face. I asked him if he was an idiot, to back off 6'. He apologized, I told him an an apology doesn't cut it. Just then there Covid-19 warning to CS reps regarding the 6' store rule played over the intercom. I pointed it out to rep as it was playing. I asked to speak to manager,store manager Jerry approached and got right up in my face. I said, "you're the manager and I have to tell you the 6' rule, back up 6'", I told him about his paint CS rep and he said, "and you called him an idiot" I said yes because he is and now you're the managing idiot. I love Lowe's. First off it is the most convenient home improvement store from my house. Everyone there is always so helpful in providing tips for a good home improvement job. I've replaced a toilet, kitchen sink head, and garbage disposal from Lowe's and can't complain. I went in yesterday for a small ladder and saw the step stools which were $10-$20 cheaper and asked one of the workers which I should invest on. He gave me a pretty good opinion that swayed me to the step ladder. $39 I went to the checkout and apparently they were having a step stool sale and sold out so they were honoring the one I grabbed for $12! The completely unsanitary condition of products in that area due to bird excrement is unforgivable. I rented a steam cleaner, and the customer service rep did not know much about it and didn't have anyone who could help me learn about it. It was not checked for cleanliness when I checked it out, and I was not told that I needed to clean it upon return. When I went to return it, another rep said that it was supposed to be cleaned. It wasn't even our dirt on the bottom of the machine since we only used the attachment feature. So I stood there cleaning someone else's dog fur from the machine when I own no dog when she should have said not to worry about it. I only received a mild apology. I went to buy a freezer at the store today, the guy was able to eventually find the freezer for me and when i was paying he asked if i wanted the 3 or 5 year protection plan. Not giving me the option that i obviously didn't have to pay for either. It's an obvious shady sales tactic for him to sell more insurance for appliances. This is the type of crap you see at car rental companies. If he was trained to do this by Lowe's then I'm ashamed of them. Just give the customer all the information and let them make a decision, and don't scam people into buying your BS insurance because people thought they didn't have an option. My husband bought a hand planer from here for a project. He gets home, opens the box and sees it's already been used. The blade was completely worn down. All the things that came with it were all scratched. I took it back at 5pm 6/1/22, I wanted to exchange it for a new one. I went to go get one and I can't find any. I was told they had 5 on the shelf. There's an associate standing right next to the empty shelf but he avoids all eye contact. He's pretending to help another customer but he's mostly just standing there silent. Could have made eye contact and at least said "be right with you" if he was actually helping the other guy. I wait and wait. Here him chit chat here and there but mostly he's just standing there silent awkwardly hoping we'd go away. Maybe he has issues with black people? I don't know but my husband is 6'5" so u can't miss him. Maybe he didn't feel like working. Maybe he doesn't like interracial couples. I don't know but it was RUDE AF. I go back to the front and tell the associate there that is just like to return the item instead of exchange because the guy over there wouldn't help us. He couldn't cared less too. We didn't get any "sorry to hear that" or "I'll let my manager know" or "I can get someone to help you". I got an "ok" and then it took him about 20 min to return the item because when turns out, when I had picked up the original order, they never even marked it as picked up. What a mess. My wife and I ordered cabinets in October the cabinets were set to arrive November the day before the cabinets were set to arrive we reached out to Lowe's and were informed they would still be there the next business day. Because of this information I removed all of my cabinets and countertops out of my kitchen that was in November. With no communication from Lowe's we reached out and we're informed we needed to reach directly out to the cabinet company. The cabinet company informed us that the cabinets would be shipped and arrived before Christmas December 22nd the cabinets arrived in Phoenix between December 22nd and January 6th The cabinets disappeared from the Carrier facility nobody knew where they were at. So not only did we miss Thanksgiving but we also missed our on Christmas as well. January 7th we received our cabinets finally. But still no communication from Lowe's I have reached out multiple times with nothing back. Me being a veteran and a handyman I would expect much more from a large home improvement store. I ordered a washer and gas dryer set. The employee was incredibly helpful. Unfortunately it was all downhill after that. The night before delivery I got the voicemail telling me what the delivery time frame was for the following day. Sadly the voicemail wasn't clear/got cutoff so I had to call them directly. The man who answered seemed bothered and was letting out big sighs. He asked for my tracking number which I had no clue what he meant because the receipt doesn't have a tracking number. He seemed annoyed by that then asked where I bought it from. He provided the time frame and said it was for a washer and dryer. I asked for clarification as the dryer was on back order until late March early April and was told I would only be receiving the washer. He said it was the washer AND the dryer and that someone would call 30 minutes prior to delivery. The next day I missed a call and the person didn't leave a message. I moved my car in case it was the delivery people and 5 minutes later they showed up. I clarified with them what they were off loading and he said it was just the washer. They asked for a knife to take the packing off of it. I went inside to get one and when I came out they were lift the machine from off the ground with the backside facing the street. I thought that was odd and inspected it. I asked them what do I do about the scratches on it and was told "call Chastity at Lowe's Tempe, she'll take care of you". Disclaimer: these scratches were cosmetic and minor I was just upset they didn't say anything. You make a big ticket purchase it should be in new condition, correct? So I call her and she was very kind and apologetic. She said she needed to make a couple of phone calls and would call me back. She gets back to me and says that her manager and the manager from XPO the delivery company they use say it's normal for them to lay it in the street to get the packing off. I said that would make sense if it wasn't scratched on the top and bottom. That means the packing was off. She said let me see what I can do to get you another one ASAP and call you back. I never heard from her. I ended up talking to Art the assistant store manager. He said we will get that another one to you ASAP and pick up the other one. I got another automated timeframe phone call. The next day I waited around all day without a 30 minute phone call that they were on their way. I needed to pickup my daughter which round trip would be less than 30 minutes. I figured it was safe since I hadn't heard from them. Sure enough, no phone call, they showed up at my door. My other daughter (a minor) was there and text me when they stopped by. Shortly after I get a phone call from XPO stating I missed my delivery. I called Lowe's and they called me back after researching it stated that the delivery claimed he couldn't get ahold of me. I thought that was odd since Lowe's called me back successfully and XPO called to let me know I missed delivery. At this point I said let's cancel it. I wasted so much on this and on the phone with Lowe's. NOT a simple refund apparently. I paid with my Lowe's card and major credit card. A portion went back to Lowe's, a portion in cash, and the other amount +$1,000 will go back to the cc but they can't give me a receipt that shows it's going back to my cc. I have to take their word for it because it's some system limitation. Gas dryers are very hard to come by and I lucked out finding a set that I could get as early as next week. Unfortunately I am at the mercy of Lowe's and crossing my fingers that the money is refunded in 5-10 business days. If it isn't then I need to spend more time on this waiting for them to resolve it. I was really helped out today by Sergio, Ast. Manager of Lowes at 19th Ave. And Baseline. I purchased a riding Lawn Mower and after two months it stopped working. I have a 2 yr.Warranty with Craftsman, I tried for TWO DAYS to get help. AFTER THEIR AUTOMATED SYSTEM FAILED ME A MILLION TIMES, AND 7 STUPID PHONE NUMBERS AND ONCE WHEN I DID SPEAK TO A LIVE PERSON, HE HAD ME TRY AND FIX IT MYSELF, AFTER A HOUR IN THE SUN ON MY KNEES, ( IM 66) NOTHING WORKED, HE TOLD ME SOMEONE WOULD CALL BACK, NO ONE DID!!@ i am waaaay stressed about this. So I called Lowes where I bought it, I had Rick and Marteen try to get someone from Craftsman, they also could not get anyone!! But they tried and were very patient and kind. So because of these three great guys, Rick, Marteen and then Sergio, I'm getting another mower and I am buying a new house and will purchase all new appliances here!!! Lowes delivered it to the wrong address -- a property I previously owned and which Lowes apparently decided was the the right location based on an order from several years ago still in their system. I went to find flooring for my new home and was helped by Rebecca in Flooring who was very helpful and knowledgeable with all of my questions. I was very aware that she was busy today but took the time and patience to work with me. I was very satisfied with the assistance she provided as she was able to answer all my questions. We definitely will go back to this location for our other home improvement needs. I give them ---0 Stars. I called them today 7/16/23 and spoke to a Danny, who said he was an asst. mgr, made sure they had the Bissell vacuum I was looking for and went in the store. Danny helped me. He told me they have had 0 returns on the vacuum I was looking at, gave it his high reviews (the reviews online were good for this vacuum but I will say some looked very suspicious.) I bought the vacuum, which is supposed be excellent for a pet owned household. The vacuum is a piece of c - -p! It only picked up a small bit of dog hair, most of it was scattered around the rug, the hair it did pick up bound around the roller, which it is not supposed to do, and then when I moved to the tile, the hair that it did pick up on the carpet all came out of the vacuum and onto the tile. The attachments kept falling out of their place, it was a train wreck. I called immediately to speak to Danny, he was gone. I told the girl I wanted to speak to a manager or asst. manager. I held for 20 minutes, hung up, called back again, held for another 10 minutes, they just kept putting me through to a number that rang and rang and rang, then back on hold, all the while they were all laughing. A couple of them were young men. They thought it was funny, especially this little SNOT, who just hung up on me. I recorded the entire thing. I hope our country does end up putting the screws to the younger generation. They deserve it. I will try Danny tomorrow but will ask to speak to a district mgr. I was told Danny would be in on Monday. I won't even bother to tell you the HELL I went though on the Bissell website, still cannot get the email to go through. The absolute worst. I ordered fans and pendant lights online for our remodel because they were energy star rated and not available anywhere else. Although I got an email stating my order was ready they actually didn't have my stuff. They then spent 45 minutes pretending to look for it, which consisted of waiting 15 minutes for a new clueless staff to show up at the counter and do nothing 3 consecutive times. Not a single employee communicated what the mishap was or how they were going to solve it, they were basically clueless zombies who couldn't figure out what was going on. I called Lowe's customer service eventually at minute 44 and was able to cancel the order and get the rest of my day back. Will never be shopping here again. Today I had the most wonderful service at this Lowe's location. I'm in a spot in my life where I'm having to count every penny and today I wasn't treated as a pauper but as a human being deserving of attention and good solutions for my kitchen refurbishing project. Specifically, Gilbert in flooring was so helpful and didn't make me feel for a second that I wasn't getting the best service even though I wasn't going to purchase hundreds of dollars of product from the store. I'm sure that when the time calls for it, Gilbert DOES have the expertise and salesmanship to assist a homeowner with a whole house of new flooring, but today for me, his services allowed me to complete my transaction without having any weight put upon my shoulders.
