I rated Lowes with 5 stars because of the service I received from Ric in the Millworks department. The stars are for Ric, not necessarily for Lowes. My past experiences with Lowes have been mediocre if not poor to say the least. Not because of product selection but because of lack of service or hard to find associates. Tonight I went into Lowes to purchase a new front door for my home and Ric was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. Not only did he help me get the exact door my wife wanted, but discussed in detail the different types of materials that are offered and the positive and negative attributes about each product. Ric did not pressure me to buy the most expensive door, he asked me important questions which allowed me to make the right decision for my needs. I previously worked in construction when I was younger so I also understood what other products I needed to accompany the install. Again Ric provided me on some in-site into accessories that I was not aware of to make the job easier. Again no sales pressure considering a new tool/trick was only $5.99. As I was making a purchase and ordering a new front door a few upset customers asked Ric for help and/or to get them someone to help them. I can understand their frustration as I to have had this experience at this Lowes many times. Even though the customers were short and snappy, Ric was calm and professional and made sure they were taken care of. This is service that is pretty much extinct in my opinion. You rarely find a person like Ric in the service industry and I hope Lowes corporate realizes what an awesome employee they have. If you go to Lowes in Vacaville ask for Ric in Millworks. Even if it's not his department and he might not be the expert on what you are looking for, I bet you will have better service than any other associate at Lowes in Vacaville. read more

Had the most pleasant experience at Lowe's (Vacaville) today. Upon arrival, I managed to snag Danny ~ who listened intently to my ideas. He escorted me to building material, helped me select the right product and then guided me to James to do some sawing. Danny never left my side - until I was ready to check out. James was amazing as well. After working 12 hours, he managed to very pleasantly assist me with a smile on his face. Afterward, James explained he was heading home. Danny then escorted me to moldings and helped me choose a few pieces. When he couldn't find anyone to cut for me, he found James - who hadn't quite made it out the door yet. Back to the saw they went, to set me up with everything I asked for. These two made my day. I've never had a bad experience at Lowe's Vacaville, but todays customer service by these two was outstanding! After spending years shopping (with frustration due to lack of help) at other home improvement stores...I've decided I won't venture anywhere else again. Thanks Danny!! Thanks James!! At 10:55 am went here to pick up a few things. The woman working the self check lanes seemed pissed off that she actually had to do her job. She kept saying the registers are open. So when I was able to finally get a word in, I asked for cash. Because all registers said "Card only." She was pretty rude when we said we 9nly had cash. Sorry to mess up your day. I work in retail, so even when "I'm not feeling it" I still treat you with respect and plaster that attitude that makes you feel like you want to come back. read more

This review is for the window department. I highly recommend going elsewhere. The project manager, Mr. Terry, was incredibly rude to me, the wife, but was very friendly to my husband. However, once we paid for the windows, we could never get a hold of him to find out the status of our order. He also had very know it all attitude and strong opinions. When we finally had our windows installed, there were nothing but issues. Long story short, we had to have multiple windows re replaced because the project manager hadn't ordered them up to code so we could get them signed off. Our sliding glass door was installed so horribly that it leaks when it rains and we had to fix it. We're still finding broken glass and our old window pieces outside, 2 years later. We saved money by going through Lowe's, but it has not been worth the headache and frustration. read more

I should have listened to my husband when he said he'll never come back to this store. Customer service is non-existent. I placed an online order for store pick up because I have back problem and they have curbside pick up. I placed my order in the morning and went to pick it up in the afternoon. Parked in the "Curbside Pickup" parking space and called the store phone 707-455-4400 and pressed option 2. No answer. I tried again and still no answer. There was paper sign 6am-6pm. It's was 5:30pm. I went inside and waited at the pick up window for few minutes but no one came. I went to the Return window and asked if curbside pick up is not in service. The lady behind the counter looking like she didn't not want to be there said it is but you have to call the phone number. I told her I called multiple times but there was no answer. And then she said "there's also a number you can text." She got my order number and placed my items on the counter. I asked if they have carts and she said they're outside. No offer of assistance at all. I worked retail in my younger days and made sure I provided excellent customer service. I did not get that here. I'm a big fan of Lowe's in general, but left this particular store feeling disappointed due to disarray of their inventory, higher prices compared to other Lowe's in the area, and COVID-19 precautions. On this trip I went in the middle of the day and needed to pick up some fittings that were out of stock at my more-local Lowe's and some fasteners, and take a look at LVP flooring and plastic sheds. They had the fittings and fasteners I needed, but I had to dig through the shelves and bins to pull out fittings left in the wrong bin and boxes put back in the wrong place. Same with the fasteners - fastener sizes and applications were mixed together and required significant hunting and pecking and double checking to find the correct sizes. I know a certain level of disarray is typical of a big box home improvement store, especially during C19. However, I've been to multiple other Lowe's, other big box chains, and other family-owned big builder supply stores during lockdown that have been more organized. Prices for the fittings were higher than the Lowe's closer to me and you had to buy twice as much product to qualify for the bulk discount. The store had all the expected C19 signage out, but customers were craptastic when it came to mask wearing and distancing. At least 25% of the customers I saw were maskless or couldn't get it together enough to keep their masks over their noses. I ended up leaving before taking a look at the other stuff I was hoping to take care of during the visit. read more

Great experience while in the store last evening:) Robert was totally positive, had a can do attitude as I needed to get a door lock rekey. First associate, cut keys only. And I was praying, someone was on shift, that knew how to rekey...Robert got it done:)he's eager to learn new things, knows tools, helps folks...and customers are grateful. I was playing dispatch when I was waiting for this tedious task to be completed, and I was amazed, at his knowledge. 6 customers came in with frustrated looks on their faces and left with smiles.... including myself. We purchased a custom security door through Lowes. Julie helped us through the process.she was so knowledgeable when ordering the door and design. She was fantastic always keeping in touch with us after ordering the door and letting us know what was going on. Marcus with Cadco came out and measured correctly and installed the door the very next day after it arrived several weeks later. Marcus was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and did a great job. I ordered a weber barbecue retailing at over $1000.00 in time for the 4th of July weekend. It showed up 2 days prior, it was a return from another customer, complete with dings and signs of wear. My choice was to have it picked up, after waiting 2 weeks already, or just use it as is. The help line is overwhelmed so getting any help was not going to happen. Very angering situation. It even had the previous customers name still taped on it. Very cheesy operation. Will not be returning to Lowes for anything. read more

I am currently in the process of remodeling my home and have been going to hardware stores frequently for everything I will need. It seems that every time I am in a department asking for help, there is no one available. We were interested in purchasing a door, paid $45 for someone to come out to measure, and no one ever called or came to measure so we asked for a refund. We purchased a fan and paid for that to be installed as well. Upon installation, we found out that the motor on the fan was defective so we had to exchange it and have the installer come back out to install the fan. We then ordered a stove top and a range hood for the kitchen only to find that the stove top had fingerprints all over it and the range hood has a huge scratch on it. We are extremely disappointed as this is now costing us more money as we are delaying the schedule of our contractor. Coming from an extremely dissatisfied customer, I hope this company can figure it out. read more

I went to purchase 200 ft. of various color 12 AWG wire and walk into the store, went to contractors desk and ask if they can send someone over to cut some wire for me... 10 minutes later I called the store from my phone and let them know I was standing there at the wire and have been waiting for, now, 15 minutes... The customer assistance said they would send someone right over... another 10 minutes later I noticed a call station at the wire location and pushed the button. Over the next 15 min the called station announced 3 times over the store intercom system "help need in the wire cutting area" .. 6 minutes later I call Ace Hardware ask about the pricing which was 1/2 the price and ordered my wire from Ace then left the store without ever receiving any help... read more

I went in tonight to purchase a washer and dryer. I had been in on Sunday and spoke with Tracy, who was very helpful and based on information she provided I had decided to purchase a LG set. I come in and there is only one assistant and he is working with another customer, No problem I can wait. Another comes along and rings the button that announces assistance needed in appliances, we are told Tracy is at lunch but should be back soon. The gentleman says he has to leave but he has called someone to assist me. Kevin came into the department to assist me, I thought. Tracy was asked to help the other gentleman. I show him the set I want. He looks it up and says they have the dryer but will need to order the washer. I am good with that as it is my dryer that kicked the bucket. He goes to look for the dryer in several places, it is hiding, finally he returns to inform me that he cannot locate it. Apparently they just did inventory and numbers are off, seriously. I ask him to check other stores he finds one North of Vacaville in a town whose name I had never heard of. Long story short I decided to look at other sets hoping they would have one of them in stock. Another couple was waiting for assistance and their was an apparent silent handoff to Tracy as he never said anything but Tracy came over to assist me. Thank goodness for Tracy, she let's me know that she is going to take one more look for the LG Dryer. First she checks with the distribution center that closes in 5 minutes to ensure I am able to get the washing machine. She goes off and comes back to say, you got it, they did have the original dryer I was looking for "in store" and she scheduled it to be delivered Friday. You wonder what happened to the couple Kevin helped, after quoting them a price he left and said someone else would assist them. They didn't see the silent handoff either. Worst place to work and shop ever. The managers are always rude to you they keep you in seasonal after the 3 and 6 month duration of acquiring benefits to where you never receive the benefits of your contract. They are also very discriminating, unfriendly, and extremely uncomfortable to work around. And if you ever shop there they are very unhelpful, disrespectful and very uncomfortable to be around. One of the managers that was really hard to deal with was Chris Shuetz. He was very angry all times, very defensive, hard to talk to, extremely unapproachable. Dear Lowe's you will never get my money ever again. The shopping experience is stressful and you don't seem to care. The staff does a good job of employing Covid hygiene but they don't enforce the customers to do so. Today, the only option was self check out. I had many small items that would've been very difficult to keep in myself. I had to ask for help which I got but even then it was still difficult. One of the self checkout kiosk had a broken scanner. If you need to buy a large appliance, go anywhere other than Lowe's. They have horrible customer service, and they do nothing to help customers if there is a problem. We ordered a dishwasher to pick up in Vallejo. The order confirmation says Vallejo, but then we got the pick-up notice for Vacaville. That is over an hour of extra driving. When we called Vacaville to see if the item was really there, they refused to even check. We had to call Vallejo, and wait on hold forever to have them see if it was really in Vacaville. I'm not sure why no one in Vacaville could tell us they had it there. No one could explain the problem, and they refused to do anything. So, we get the dishwasher picked up, pay to have it installed, and then find out Lowe's website had the specifications wrong. Lowe's response to hearing that they told me tough, and that buying from Lowe's is a buyer beware situation. This is what they quoted as their terms. "Lowe's cannot and does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the Materials displayed on the Site, including, without limitation, prices, product images, specifications, dimensions, availability and services. The Materials may contain technical inaccuracies and typographical errors. Products and services are the responsibility of the manufacturer and service provider, respectively and subject to the warranties offered by such manufacturer or service provider." So, basically, if you buy off of Lowe's website, you could be charged more or even get the wrong item, and it's not their problem. Horrible customer service! read more

If you decide to do paperless billing at Lowe's you do not have the option of an itemized bill. You only receive one total, regardless of how many items are purchased or how many shopping trips you make. I was surprised by this since every other card I use, whether paperless or not, supplies itemized bills online. This seems especially relevant at Lowe's, which carries so many high-priced items. It's so much easier at the end of the month to scan through your bill and look at each detailed purchase, versus one total. I was told that if I misplace my receipts, or didn't want to scan through all my receipts, I can call each month, wait on hold, and have them read my charges to me. This makes no sense. Their card does not seem to be worth the trouble. read more

Hands down one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I purchased a patio set (a love seat, two single chairs, and a coffee table) on a Sunday. They only had the love seat in stock and the single chairs had to be ordered for delivery a week out. I get home and wanted to put the love seat and coffee table together, except it didn't come with screws or instructions. I called and they said to come in and they would get the hardware from another box. Well, they opened a brand new box only to find out it did not have the screws either. It had instructions, so I offered to purchase the screws if they could identify which ones. They were not able to as the instructions did not give a screw size or dimension, so a supervisor offered to have an associate find a match so I could return later for the screws. They took my name and contact information and advised me I would hear back by the next day (Monday). Well, Wednesday rolls around and I had no response. So I called, and I spoke to the Associate Store Manager(ASM). He apologized for the inconvenience and expressed an understanding for my frustration. He offered to personally pull the patio set to find the screws or he would find a match to give me at no cost. Again, he took down my name and information. He said he would get to it "immediately" and call me. Well, by Friday I did not receive a call back. So I decided to drop in and asked to speak to the ASM or an available manager/supervisor. As no one was available I spoke to the lead in the Paint department. To say the least, we went in circles and came to no conclusion. Of course, he took my name and information. Over a week later(the following Wednesday), I called in regards to the single chairs that were supposed to be delivered on Monday and the screws for the patio set that was laying at my house in pieces. Only to find out they were back ordered and would not arrive for five more weeks. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was advised to return the product and purchase the available product at the Fairfield location. To date, I have not received a call back from the numerous supervisors and manager I spoke to. If I could rate this store a zero I would. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

We decided to renovate our downstairs flooring and went to Lowe's. We were able to pick out our vinyl planking and decided to go with Lowe's subcontractor for installation. We set up an estimate appointment, got the measurements done, and was told a price would be sent within 3 days. After 5 days, no price so I called and spoke to the flooring manager. He tells us our selection has been discontinued and they could not complete the estimate. I proceed to give him 3 more selections. He tells me 2 cannot be applied to my surface (concrete slab) and the other is also discontinued. The only option in the color we want is real wood planks at 5 times the cost. I tell him to proceed with the estimate. That was 2 weeks ago. Still no estimate. Worst service by a known corporation ever. read more

Dumbasses forgot to give me the underlayment which is important as fuck. NO MASK.....REALLY??? We have been doing home remodeling over the last year, and have spent a lot of money at this store. We went in yesterday to pick up a new microwave, and found very few of the customers wearing a mask. The employees were, but hardly any of the customers. When we asked why that was happening, we were told that they do not enforce that. Last I heard, there is still a state wide mandate that masks are required in all public (indoor) places. Lowes Vacaville, Special ordered a trailer in July and was told it would arrive within 30 days. 45 days later visited the store and was informed in would be another 15 days to delivery. 75 days after the original order date was informed it would be another 3-6 months before the order would be fulfilled. The personnel at the pro-desk were as nice as can be but the customer service at national is a disgrace. Cancelled the order at Lowes and got what I needed the same day at Tractor Supply. read more

Don't expect to get any help when you go. Seems like all the younger employees don't know what real customer service is. Every time I go in...I can never find anybody to assist. Finally, when I do, employees are quick and dismissive. Not to mention, on two separate occasions, I've seen employees socialize in huddles (you could tell it was not work-related). On another separate occasion, my grandfather went into Lowes by himself. I visited here twice in one day. I had two craftsman blowers. When I asked kelly (who I later found out was what they call a Head cashier) snapped at me. She was rude and had an attitude when all I wanted was to drop the equipment off and purchase a new one. A gentleman named antonio stepped in and asked me a few questions trying to pacify the situation and i must say i was rude to him, my apologies. He explained we would take them but they couldn't have gas. Kelly tried to correct her rudeness and tried smoothing things over but that woman has a bad attitude and should not be at customer service if she doesnt have the patience to handle things. Before I left I got a cashier by the name Jade I think, she was extremely nice. She offered the craftsman number to me, asked if I wanted her to call for me... and I told her I dumped the gas out and just wanted to get rid of them. Ordered a few of my appliances at Lowe's, spending well over $1500 and was really disappointed in the company that delivers. So, this review is more of a reflection of the delivery company, who is a third party. They were extremely rude when they arrived. I had paid for removal of my old appliances, and when they saw my original to the home 1960's range, they refused to remove it stating that it would be too heavy... I thought they should be prepared to remove any size appliance? I can't be the only one with an older appliance that needs removing. I insisted they try and after some back and forth, I jumped on the phone with Lowe's. Within minutes they had the range out. Once the new range was installed, the warming drawer wasn't closing properly. I let them know I couldn't accept a faulty appliance. They began to argue with me once again and so I called Lowe's once again. As soon as I did, the warming drawer was fixed within minutes. They continued to challenge my valid requests and spoke down to me and try to take advantage of the situation because I am a female. I really hope Lowe's changed their delivery company. They are very unprofessional and are a bad representation of the Vacaville location and company in general. read more

I am so fed up with entitled young people hired for youthful appearance instead of useful services. My husband went into this Vacaville Lowes store intending to buy blinds for an entire house. The employees watched him examining the blinds and none asked to help him. As there was no employee in the area, he went over to them and asked for help with the blinds. The employees made it clear they could care less about doing their jobs. He left. 1. People are paid to represent and work for the company on their shifts and nothing else. 2. It is a working relationship; no work means no relationship. 3. This is a major reason the internet thrives while brick and mortar stores die off. read more

Sometimes I get some decent people to help me in the Vacaville location, but there is a 50-50 chance that staff's behavior is just unacceptable in this location. I feel that I have to beg them to tell me more about their products - they always look busy and with a "google it and don't bother us" attitude. Last month they lost my $7K business to other stores. Last week I had to buy some paint from them, yet another disappointing experience. I try to avoid it if possible. Went today to return something ordered online and to look at some refrigeration products. We were in the store maybe 15 minutes. I saw several employees without masks and many wearing them incorrectly (noses uncovered). When we headed for the exit, there were three employees blocking our way, chatting with each other, all wearing masks incorrectly. They moved a little bit so we could get through but kept talking to each other. I also saw customers without masks in the store. Today is June 29. The governor's statewide mask order was June 16. COVID cases are spiking all over California this week. Clearly this Lowe's doesn't care at all about the safety of its customers or employees. Won't be back. read more

Lowe's sucks. They used to be good and I swore by them but they got lazy and sloppy. During my last visit: - cannot use chip technology if using a debit card, but can if using a credit card. - cannot get military discount at self checkout. The attendant told me I had to cancel my transaction and go to a checkout stand with a person at it. Those were all closed so she told me I couldn't get the discount and walked away. - when checking out, they show you the pre-tax total before you swipe your card and then show you the actual total. We are ready to purchase a front door that is already in stock so we can avoid the current port issues, however, 3 weeks later and we are still waiting to get a call from the installer. This is your typical Lowes. Not much to say about Lowes in general as you've probably been to one. But on my recent visit for Black Friday shopping with my mother in law who lives in Vacaville I was disappointed. I was in the market for at new oven, I wanted a double oven with 5 burners. They had none. There were 2 people working in the appliance department and about 2 dozen customers waiting to be helped. We were there for about 30 minutes browsing and weren't acknowledged once. So I got tired of waiting and went to their competitor on the other side of the freeway, they had exactly what I wanted and I didn't have to wait for any help because they had enough employees for such a busy shopping day.
