I'll spare you the details, but suffice it to say, this is the worst customer service experience I've ever had. My husband and I purchased $2,600 worth of appliances from the Weymouth store a few weeks back - everything that could have gone wrong, did. The items never showed up, management was unresponsive and sometimes rude, and once they finally did come were damaged. The new delivery was set up during the one time of day I said I could not be home, and it took hours to correct. I recognize that XPO is its own company, but Lowe's is responsible for hiring them and needs to do better. From start to finish, this experience cost me over $550 in material costs and 14 hours of time during a holiday weekend to correct. After going through every possible customer service avenue I could, we were offered an insulting amount of compensation. We were told that "Lowe's doesn't take into consideration time lost" and that "Delays are just part of the home improvement process." Do yourself and your family a favor and shop elsewhere. Went to Lowe's again to buy some screws. The employee I talked to couldn't care less about what I was looking for. He told me were to find the wood screws as he was putting some other items away and then turned his back to me. I asked him to show me where the screws were, we are in the same isle, and he did after big sigh. Sorry to ask you to hep a customer and make you do your job. Why I keep going back is beyond me. I would never treat a customer like this. I went to purchase several broken bags which by Lowe's rule were half off. At checkout I was grilled by Linda and Deb as to where I found the bags, who bagged them and because there was no price written on them that "not enough product was missing to merit a discount". I didn't appreciate them insinuating that I had done this intentionally when finally Deb said "well maybe the night crew bagged them but they should have written the price on the bag". Any experienced manager at this point would have absorbed the blame and honored the discount, but not them. At this point I left, registered a complaint with corporate and gave the sale to a competitor. I hope management sees what poor ratings this store gets on social media. I bought a refrigerator from the Quincy store 11 months ago. It had so many problems you wouldn't believe. It was one of those GE appliances with the coffee maker in it. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. I called them countless times including HQ. I finally got a new refrigerator. They had to still come back and fix that one. All along the workers at the Quincy store including the managers were extremely rude And always trying to make me feel like I was bothering them. Now on top of everything the motor just broke and I have ice cream all over my kitchen floor. Yes not even one year old. When I called Lowe's Quincy the manager refused to come to the phone. When I called the corporate headquarters they said the computers were not working call again some other time. I will never ever buy something at Lowe's again. Ever ever ever ever ever ever ever. I had cancer this year too. Everything I went through it was better than the stuff I went through with Loews. If you saw what happened to me you would understand. We had the worst experience at the Weymouth store trying to buy a storm door. After waiting for 25 minutes for a salesperson who was on lunch break, we chose our storm door and signed up for $35 measuring service. The Weymouth store LOST our order, I called 3 times to follow up - no contractor ever called us to set up an appointment. No calls or communication from the store to us. Angry because we needed this done promptly, I tried to cancel the order and could not get through to the store TWICE. I requested an email confirming the cancellation and didn't even get that! They don't want our business and do not even try to give average customer service. As a Lowes credit card holder I am not giving up on Lowes but the Weymouth store is LAZY. I will take my business else where, Pembroke. This store will go under if Management does not train it staff better. Stay away. read more

I bought a freezer for my daughter and son in law. Delivery was set for today with a window of 4-6. Lowes delivery called at 5 stating they te running behind, if they could come alittle late. Almost every person who works at this Lowes store has helped me when I have asked, WHEN I can find someone. From paint to lighting to appliances to the outdoor area, people help. What I am not happy with is the lack of management skills. I had a conversation with a very knowledgeable salesman named David in appliances, and was sad when he said that he was going to be leaving soon. He needed full time, and there were no openings. I find this not understandable at all. When I compare the amount of help available at the Home Depot versus this Lowes, that makes no sense. I can't help but wonder if the Manager is in it just for "the bottom line" - my guess is that if he keeps costs down, he gets a big bonus. This will backfire - this store is suffering. I don't enjoy going there much anymore because I can rarely find someone to help. I wish that appliance salesman the best - he's been very helpful to me in the past. Date June 10th 2015 7:15am. Returned a item I didn't need got something else I needed instead. Upon leaving exit door near self checkout. Lady posted there accused me of stealing. I felt very offended by this employee acting like a security officer or something. Judging me to be some dumb criminal. Unacceptable! Unreliable! Unprofessional! Stay away from this company!! Back in October 2018, we contracted with Lowe's to have our kitchen completely redone. We should have been able to enjoy our remodeled kitchen mid-January but the finished product was not finally delivered until the end of August, 7 months late and after us needing to get involved to compensate for the failure of Lowe's management to get the job done. To make a long story short: -the first contractor hired by Lowe's was fishy and cut many corners. He completed the job in time but not as contracted. Also, he never pulled a permit and performed work that was not up to code. -our local contacts at Lowe's were not involved during this process and the program we contracted with Lowe's (custom design plan) was actually discontinued a few weeks after we signed with them because it was not good. No one told us and eventually, these contacts started to be unreachable. -since we complained about the quality of the first remodeling, Lowe's sent a second contractor specialized in fixing issues with work not up to par. A complete redo was actually needed. This contractor started the second remodeling at the end of April and expected to be done 2 months later. It eventually took him 4 months. He was good but could not perform the job as needed since no one from Lowe's was following up on our kitchen and giving him the information he needed. He became as frustrated as we were. -our other Lowe's contact based in Philadelphia disappeared in July. We later learnt he went to military training but never told us or the construction companies. Therefore, one of them did not even want to do their job until they get assured they would be paid. -we started receiving deliveries of parts we did not need. This took extra space in our house which was already in shambles. -on the other end, other parts that needed to be reordered were not and some of the cabinets that we needed was never set for delivery causing additional delays. -after repeated setbacks and increased frustration, we sent an official complaint to Lowe's customer relations Director at the headquarter early August. Someone took over our case and managed to have the kitchen finished in less than 4 weeks. -we have been in negotiation to get a refund for almost 2 months but after numerous emails, we have only managed to get an offer for 15% back. This is nothing compared to the fact we lived in a construction zone for 6 months over a period of 9 months and that our summer was ruined since we had not proper space to have family meals or entertain. Also, we basically had to take over the supervision of the work and did that job for Lowe's. Now, in order for us to be able to receive any refund, we need to sign a document preventing us to complaint to or about Lowe's in any shape or form in the future, promising to destroy any pictures or videos we have about the work and basically tying our hands away from anything that could happen against this company. I am writing this review on in store service. My husband and I went to Lowe's last night to buy a washer and dryer. We were there about five minutes looking when a store associate promptly came to our assistance. His name was Dave and he could not have been more helpful. He knew all about the appliances and helped us make a decision. He also saved us some money, he found a dryer with an open box which otherwise looked untouched and asked the store manager for a discount. We also dealt with Dave's manager who was very helpful and pleasant. We signed up for a Lowe's credit card and Dottie who helped us with that area of the transaction was also excellent at her job, friendly, helpful and saved us 10% more on our purchase. Nothing bad to say here. I hope the delivery and installation goes as smoothly! read more

Arrived at 7:00 PM on 4/17/19 to purchase some mulch on sale and spent another $50 on plants. The sale mulch was down to 3 bags. As he walked away, the associate said "people always show up at the last minute. It will take at least half an hour to get another pallet down." The store is open until 10:00 PM. I took what was there and checked out. Now I remember why I stopped going to Lowes. It's a glorified home decorating emporium. If it's not right on the shelf tough luck. read more

I've had horrible experiences with Home Depot on the Cape. This Lowes was awesome. The store was clean, organized, and what set it apart was their personnel. EVERY single employee my GF and I passed asked us if they could help us and thanked us for shopping there. Every one! This was diametrically opposed to the experience elsewhere (except for Ace) where the clerks avoid eye contact as they race by you. I don't know who the manager is, but he/she deserves an attaboy/girl for hiring and training quality personnel. read more

My only experience is with the building materials side of the store, but they have had everything I've been looking for, been happy to answer questions (or acknowledge when they don't know, and found someone else), and the prices have been the same or less than Home Depot. Not bad. read more

XPO logistics who delivers for lowes needs to fire their Seabrook NH driver for what he did to me. Maliciously cancelled my second delivery after I proved he lied about his first delivery attempt. His boss told me he said slowed cancelled my order. Paul at Lowes Seabrook said the driver refused the order because he needed a special toll to install. Lowes confirmed that no special tool was needed. read more

This is not as much a bad review of the Weymouth store but of Lowes.com overall. I ordered a dishwasher online after spending a lot of time researching. I bought one and selected to pick it up at the Weymouth store. Later I get a short unclear message on my voice message that my order is cancelled. Called customer service and was told the item I bought is NOT AVAILABLE for purchase. Days later same dishwasher still shows in inventory. My credit card was charged immediately and now I am still fighting to get my money back. They are telling me it may take up to a week to get me a refund for their mistake. NO offer to get me my dishwasher from any other store, or any kind of help. I will not deal with them ever again. BEWARE! read more

The Worst! Unprofessional! Deceitful! Second time I ordered a series of Pella Windows from Lowes. The first time they installed a broken window, and the installers were just unprofessional. That was the Quincy Store. which has since closed. Did I think the Weymouth store could be better? No. Ordered four Pella windows in March of 2019. Lots of delays with Installer (who should enter another line of work) The Salesman ordered the wrong windows, and when we explained to him on how the kitchen windows should be installed, he apparently neglected to inform the installer. When windows were installed, installer asked how we "wanted the screens" placed. Never asked for the window placement. His work order just said install windows according to him. Salesman gave me the run around and had no apologies for ordering the other wrong windows. The master bath window was cut or installed incorrectly and did not tilt out properly. In addition, the installer left old nails from the window removal all over my carpet, and a mess. Zero respect for my home. New windows had to be ordered by Salesman. He argued with me about the kitchen windows, and the installer insisted that I agreed to the "window" placement. They gave me the runaround for months. The replacement windows arrived in July of 2019. No contact from installer until August 2019, who blamed the store for not informing them the windows had arrived. Explained to store and salesman that the kitchen windows were not placed correctly. Continued the run around and false promises. Contacted installer who's wife evidently took care of the books. As the installer was on vacation in August, he could not install the new windows until September 2019. "Seven months" later from the time of ordering four windows. Installer arrived, installed windows. Refused to address the kitchen windows ( which was promised by Salesman) as he "did not have a work order from Lowes for it". Called Salesman at Lowes who again gave me the run around and wanted to brush me off the phone because he "had customers to deal with". Totally weaseled out of it. Said he would give message to Store Manager to speak with me. Four weeks later no return all from the Manager at the Weymouth Store. Just totally blew me off. Now I understand why these people are employed at Lowes. They can't get real jobs, so have to settle for working at a second rate merchant due to lack of any kind of skillset. Lowes is good for a can of paint, and perhaps a screwdriver purchase. They are the most unprofessional group of hacks I have dealt with- and I was kind enough to give them a second chance! My remaining window install will be directly thru the Professional Pella Window Installer. The irony is that the window installer company is called "On the Level" (?) Stay away folks, you will regret any major purchase from a Lowes Store. read more

This Lowe's store has knowledgeable and friendly people/staff. I usually don't buy big ticket items, but I can find what I need easily. It is the cleanest of the Lowe's stores that I visit. I've only had to return one item, with no hassles. This store seems to be a better experience than their other locations and similar stores. This is easily the worst Lowes on the south shore. We've had headache after headache with delivery scheduling and every single time we call, the associates are completely useless and rude. I've tried to update our phone number at least 5 times, which they initially took down incorrectly, and somehow they STILL have yet to call the correct number when they're trying to schedule a delivery. Last week they showed up with our dishwasher out of the blue at 11am on a Friday... thankfully we were home by chance but our old dishwasher was not disconnected and they wouldn't remove it. Now rescheduling the removal, which we paid for, has been another nightmare. I will NEVER go to this Lowes again. read more

Water Heater died Saturday, called 1800Lowes (website says Same Day water heater instalation). Water heater was installed Tues afternoon (FOUR mornings of COLD showers for our family of three). WTF???? No problem said the Lowes 1800 operator,couldnt do Saturday (it was after Noon). Oh, we dont do Sundays, so, DEF Monday morning. OK Got a call from Weymouth Lowes a contract must be signed in person at the store (no mention from 1800). Signed contract in store and was told it may not be installed on Monday, maybe Tues late WTF. If I was told this, I would have went somewhere (anywhere) else, as HOT water is important to me. Tues (done at 6:00pm) we got our instalation. The contractor did an excellent job, no problem with him, he said he was busy because of a store sale. BUT, Lowes, why not schedule a Hot water install ahead of a replacement dishwasher or whatever. NEXT TIME I will definetly go local....I recommend that to all Yelpers. Google a local, stay away from any 1800 installs, that 1800 operator is THOUSANDS of miles away trying to make a sale. read more

Lowe's hires substantial workers!! and that is exactly what I got for hire when I contracted a supposedly reputable roofing company from Lowes to reshingle my 28 year old roof. Not only did they breech contract by NOT installing a ridge vent included in the contract by Lowe's, and current code of Massachusetts Building Code. But also hired Hispanic immigrants who didn't speak a word of English and drank beers while on the job working past darkness to finish the job. Good thing I understand spanish to say "Buenos noches venga mañana". If this doesn't send red flags to any consumers. Then after two attempts to resolve my issue amicably with Lowe' s through the Better Business Bureaus of North Carolina and Massachusetts. Lowe's response to both claims stands as a 1 year out of warranty coverage. My roof is only 17 months NEW when poor workmanship and construction became a problem. I'm a general contractor who lives near Lowes on Bridge St. Unless I'm in a HUGE rush and need it for my house I avoid "this" Lowes at all costs. My wife laughs at me when I drive to the Quincy Home Depot whenever I need something, either for work or my house. The customer service at "this" Lowes is the WORST of ALL TIME! Aside from 1 maybe 2 associates being nice & helpful, the rest are BRUTAL! I swear the associates know when you need help (because I'd have that confused look on my face) and they avoid you like the plague. I've never asked to speak to a manager before except for at this Lowes when I kindly asked for help finding hardware and the "older" gentleman working paint said he didn't work hardware and raised his voice... I could clearly see that but I assumed maybe he would know considering he worked DIRECTLY next to the hardware dept and might have an idea. The associate was close to 80 if not older so clearly he had no patience but how hard is it to call over another associate to help me when he wasn't helping ANYONE... Then I asked him where I could find contractor bags since it wasn't in hardware I thought maybe he would've been less sensitive about that question but no.. He literally screamed at me that he worked the PAINT dept.. That's when I let him have it a little and told him to grab his manager... I understand that not everyone is a "people person", I just do not understand why you would work in customer service if you flat out hate people??? This is just 1 of many horrible experiences from Lowes but they're endless... I've been there w/my dad before while we need help finding something and an associate is coming directly towards us I say: "$100 says he/she dives in an aisle before they get to us" and it NEVR fails.... they sprint in the aisle to dodge us because they don't want to be bothered. This is a horrible store. I purchased a refrigerator on a Saturday and was promised a 2 hour delivery window the following Thursday. I was promised a call on Wednesday to inform me of the window so that I could make arrangements to leave work and receive the delivery. I never received a call on Wednesday. On Thursday I called the store in the morning and spoke to the store manager who told me that the fridge was coming between 6-8 p.m. that night. The fridge never came. I called the store at 8:30 p.m. to inquire and was told it wasn't their problem, that I had to deal with their delivery company XPO. I was given a number to call and was placed on hold for 10 minutes. I hung up. I called the next morning and spoke to the store manager again, he was rude, dismissive and told me it wasn't Lowe's fault. He put the manager from the delivery company on the phone. The delivery company manager promised that the fridge would be delivered in the next two hours. I told him that I could have a neighbor wait at my house but she had to leave at 945 a.m. The delivery manager promised delivery by 945 a.m. The fridge never came, I never received a call and the delivery manager refused to answer his phone when I called to inquire. A call back to the store manager was also useless as he told me there was nothing he could do to help other than give me a refund in a few days. He told me to call corporate customer service . I called corporate customer service and was promised a call back within 24 hours. Lowes never called back. I finally got my refund. I will never order from them again. read more

I ordered a product that required delivery. Lowes was running a special "free delivery". The night before my scheduled delivery I received a call at 9:00 pm stating the delivery will be the next day between 8:30 - 10:30 am. At 1015 am I received another call saying it had moved to 1030- 1230. AT 1230, I received another call saying there are delays and the new time is 1230-230pm. At 3:00 pm still no delivery, I called the delivery company XPO and after 30 minute wait they said the truck would be at my house by 4:00 pm When I called Lowes to complain, the man on the phone said he was sorry and they have been having problems with that delivery company for some time now. If Lowes already knew the delivery company had poor service why didn't they tell me that to begin with - I would not have purchased the product and not have wasted an entire day sitting around. read more

Customer service is absolutely useless. I had an incident with the new employee in the paint department who disrespected me when I was bringing an error in pricing to his attention. The chalk I was about to purchase said "buy one get one free". So I snapped a picture of that box and proceeded to the register. Of course the product did not reflect the promotional price so I showed the clerk the picture and she called this "dude" over to help. When I showed him the picture of the item that was "in his department " he told me that this promotion was no longer valid. I told him that this was unacceptable as it was clearly marked buy one get one free. At this time the lady at the register said that she felt that Lowes should honor the promotional price. When she said that to him he got VERY upset and said to me ( in front of other customers) WHAT ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT, YOUR GOING TO GET ONE OF THEM FREE AND THEN WALKED AWAY!!!! I thought that was very rude of him and immediately confronted him and reminded him that this problem was not any fault of mine and a shouting match erupted almost escalating into a fight. When I brought this to the attention to the assistant manager "Keith" he told me that he would take my contact number and someone would call me. WELL THAT DIDN"T HAPPEN,SO I WROTE TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND THEY BASICLY JUST SWEPT IN UNDER THE RUG AND TOLD KIETH THE ASSISTANT MANAGER TO CALL ME WHICH HE FINALLY DID AFTER MANY DAYS. HE TOLD ME THE REASON HE DID NOT GET BACK TO ME IS BECAUSE CORPORATE OFFICE GAVE HIM THE WRONG NUMBER??? Keith........for the record I gave you my number the day it happened and you never called back!!!! WHEN ASKED WHAT CORRECTIVE ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN AGAINST THIS EMPLOYEE HE SAID A NOTE WOULD GO INTO HIS FOLDER. REALLY KIETH!!!! Ordered a garage door online and had issues right away with their Veterans identification process. They verified me but then wanted me to upload some paperwork. I went to get the paperwork and once I scanned (5 min)and went to upload the link had timed out and it said I had to bring the supporting documents to a local store. I called customer care and they said this is a common issue that's been happening for a while, so they are clearly aware but have done nothing to fix it. Customer service was great and placed my garage door order and gave me the veterans discount. This order was placed in mid November and I was given a delivery date of December 19th. A few days before the 19th I received a confirmation email that the door would be delivered on the 19th. No one called and no one showed on the the 19th. I had to call the store and they said it was delayed until the dec 23rd. That date came and went with no delivery. I have spent hours making calls to the store and have received 3 dates and no garage door. It's beyond frustrating. I was promised the door would be here today but again no one has called and I will have to call the store to get another excuse. I have never had this issue at Home Depot. read more

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have recently purchased a lawn tractor (John Deere e110) from store in Weymouth Ma. Store #1618. The guy who works at the lawn department asked for all the shipment information. He did not verify my address and told me that I can proceed to checkout. So upon checkout the lady in the front showed me the address that it was going to be shipped to. I told her that they have gotten my address wrong and the city wrong. So I told her that should be changed. But she told me not to worry and insisted that the delivery team will figure it out. So I trusted her and decided to leave the address the way it is then proceeded to pay for the merchandise. Fast forward couple days to shipment date. I was told the shipment will arrive to my house on June 6th 2018 from the time frame of 12pm-2pm. So one of the delivery guys calls my phone and told me that they are 25 minutes away. I wanted to verify the address that they have gotten it right. The delivery guys said yes we're 25 mins away. Then the delivery guy calls again and said sorry we actually got the wrong address and went to Boston MA instead and that they would be late coming to drop off the merchandise due to the traffic. The delivery guy told me to text him the address which I did but they never replied. So I have waited an entire day for them to come and still nothing came. I then received a text message confirming the merchandise has been delievered. So I called customer service and they told me the merchandise has been returned to the store for no apparent reason. So they told me now I have to wait a few days for them to ship the merchandise to my house again. This is completely unbelievable and I have never experienced anything like this before in my life. read more

Had a terrible delivery experience with Weymouth Lowe's: bought a dishwasher, was promised a delivery 16 days later which I had no problem with. Got an automated phone call the night before giving me a 2-4pm window. No problem, took the afternoon off from work. Got three phone calls giving postponed delivery times until 9pm. When they did not show, I called the delivery company who said, sorry it's coming tomorrow between 10-12 am next day. Took the morning off, the dishwasher did not arrive until 1:30pm. Will not be buying appliances that need delivery from Lowe's. Poor delivery service! read more

I live in South Boston, and Home Depot is closer to me, but Lowes in weymouth is such a pleasure. The store is kept immaculate,everything is in place. The people who work there are always smiling and friendly, and willing to help their customers. I would not go any other place... my kids even love it there. They had a day where the kids got to make wood trucks, and the firedepartment was there along with the police cars for the children. They claim to care for communities and schools. That is till you come in with certificate of tax exemption for a painting project at school. They then wanted to speak to director of finance & operations. Tried explaining that it is Saturday and no one is in school department now. Still they wouldn't put it through without THEIR OWN exemption number, even though I was holding certificate, photo id for school, driver license and my screaming son(30 minutes of explaining). Then they tried to force me to pay for paint with tax because it was already mixed. Told them I would pay for the paint but without tax. Finally stopped trying to explain and walked out. Probably just go down to local paint shop in square. read more

Spent over $700 on an electric range. First they dont call to tell me about the delivery until the night before, so I cant be there. I call them to reschedule but they try to deliver it anyway. Next they come to deliver it but have no record of the power cord I also bought so it sits there. A few days later I speak to them and a guy brings the power cord but tells me he can't attach it he was just supposed to drop it off. So it is still sitting there. If I had gotten a manual or some directions I might try to hook it up myself....Update: I tried it myself but I cant get the screws loose without a nut drive. The delivery company called and says they will come the next morning. They don't. I called them and they said they were cancelled. I called Lowes and they said they can send someone out tomorrow but they don't have any control over the time. So if it has to be the afternoon then wait until next weekend. It's only Monday. In May of this year I purchased a Frigidaire from this store and it has been a complete nightmare. Not only does Lowe's in Weymouth, Mass use the worst delivery contractor one could ever imagine (this is a whole different nightmare story), the frigidaire ice maker broke within a month. I've been in contact with the store several times. They also contract service companies out. The first time they scheduled one of these local companies to go out, my husband had to take a day off because they would only give a 5 hour window. They never showed, Lowe's blamed them. We called the company directly (R&S Electronics & Appliances), and they said Lowe's never scheduled them and they are constantly overbooking these repairs. We had to call Lowe's again, schedule another delivery, my husband had to take more time off. They actually showed but now the ice maker is still not making ice. I called Lowe's in Weymouth today to let them know, and they told me point-blank that no one could speak to me in regard to this issue today because they are too busy with tax free weekend. Why is this my problem? Lowe's is this seriously how you treat paying customers? Not to mention how much $$ my husband and I have lost on taking time off for these service and delivery windows- most of which were WASTED. This has been such a nightmare (with no help from Lowe's) that it's almost unbelievable that it could just be me. But if others have experienced these nightmares, how is lowes still in business? The Home Depot and Sears you don't know how badly I wish I could go back in time and choose one of you. Odds are I would have more $$, more vacation time, a working fridge, oh, and a LOT LESS stress.
