EDIT: the folks at the store eventually did right by me. after a second delivery with a 2nd damaged unit and still extremely response via phone I ended up going down there and making a scene in the store. The assistant manager Anibal and the appliance supervisor Alejandro got me a unit delivered the same day and installed plus gave me a decent dsicount and free 5yr warrantee. I've always found the employees themselves to be very heplpful at this store, but they need to do something about customer service. I think the problem is with upper management and the corporate policies that seem to be not hiring enough people,as usual. the suits are the real criminals here. I just bought a stackable washer dryer from these guys and was told I'd receive a phone call the day before scheduled delivery to let me know what time delivery would be. No phone call. so on day of delivery im at work calling them to find out whats happened to my $2k appliance and NOBODY at this store answers a friggin phone. AT ALL. i had to call the national 1 800 numbder and they gave me the number of the delivery company and I was able to get the delivery time, but THEN the delivery guys show up and tell me that my appliance is damaged and the need to return it to the store and i need to call the (local) store to reschedule delivery. of course NOBODY answers the damn phone over there and after many calls and dead-ends i FINALLY get through to appliances and I'm told i need to wait a week for them to get appliance in stock again in order to reschedule delivery. The slat on my bed broke. I had to get a piece of wood ASAP! Went to my neighborhood Lowes. I grabbed a piece of wood, needed it cut down a bit and of course the saw was broken. I saw an employee and asked where the hand saws were located? Right out of his mouth, "Oh, no not today" I just looked at him with a blank stare and repeated slowly, "Where are the HAND SAWS???" Oh, on isle 56 he says. Folks are so scared you're going to ask them to work, they don't even listen to what you are saying. I went to isle 56 and I must have looked confused because a guy with a Spectrum polo shirt asked me if I needed help. I told him what I needed and he guided me to it. He noticed the type of wood I had and asked what I was using it for. I told him my bed slat was splintered around the screw area. He let me know the wood I had was too soft and would bow. He walked me over to the lumber where the pine is located. I asked him if he works there. He said yes, he is a manager. We picked out the wood and he said he would cut it for me. I didn't ask any questions. He cut it and I was grateful! I am a single female and I do what I gotta do, but I don't always feel like it. Him taking care of me the way he did meant the world to me! His name is Oscar, short, thick build and bald. He was professional, personable and a gentleman. I was going to put the piece of wood back that I originally had and he said, "Oh, I'll put it back for you! In a time when you go to these big box home improvement stores, let's not pretend like the employees don't hide when they see you coming. This man went out of his way to help me from beginning to end. This is the kind of customer service that will have a customer looking for Oscar specifically, where ever he goes, because we know we will get more than customer service, we will have an encounter with a person who understands what service really means. The one star is really for the paint department's manager. I picked up 10 gallons of paint made from a sample provided by Lowes and it was the wrong color, popped in and was asked to bring in original sample paint again to match for an exchange. 2nd pick up of 10 gallons was the same wrong color (paint was matched from bar code and not from actual paint color) and on my 3rd attempt the supervisor (I'm guessing bc everyone was looking to him for answers) tells me, "You can't keep doing this," without asking what was wrong or looking at the the paint colors. He continued to complain about having to sell the returned tubs at a discount and used an absurd excuse that sample paint colors will never be the same as what customers will get from larger containers. All other associates at the paint counter were and are always great, friendly and helpful (I go to this lowes at least 3-4times a week Don't know if the guy was having a bad day or just wanted to be difficult and authoritative towards me as a customer asking for what I paid for but never acknowledging this dude again, don't need to be helped by someone who's not willing to do their due diligence; how hard is it to check the color before getting huffy? DONT BUY APPLIANCES HERE: So dissatisfied and disappointed. I thought if I bought a Washer dryer combo here and at least bought the extra protection plan that I would be OK. Apparently not. The appliance companies that they outsource are absolutely horrible and I'd had the Chase them down every time period a few days ago I was on hold for 45 minutes before anybody would get to me. I've had my dryer consistently break down they ended up having to replace it through the warranty program but it took over 2 years. Ive had to use hundreds of dollars at laundromats while I have a broken dryer at home. The new dryer is also breaking down and it's taken me 3 weeks to get somebody from the maintenance company that they outsource to even give me an appointment. I've had to call them, email, then call them, and call them once again just to get one appointment. Every time I call Lowes over the last 4 years for the protection plan they can't find my data even though none of it has ever changed. It always takes a few phone calls & me speaking to their customer service manager for them even find our account. Then at that point they send you to their outsource appliance company which is always awful. This has been a living nightmare to consistently have a dryer that keeps breaking down in a no response customer service system with Lowe's and the companies that they outsource for maintenance. read more

I had been having a lot of back and forth in person to try resolve a replacement part for my dryer as over the phone I was frustated with the hold time and/or no response (I realize they are short staffed). I finally spoke to Annibal, one of the store supervisors, who was not only attentive, he was respectful conscientous and his follow through was impeccable. Along with his staff, Andrew and others, I was able to get my issue resolved as well as a discuont for all the time and energy spent. I am pleased and will be going back. If you want something someone to show up for a consultation, do NOT use Lowes. I set up a consultation to have work done at my house. They sent a professional email for the consultation with the exact time that the appointment would happen. On the day of the appointment, The time came and NO-ONE SHOWED UP. If a customer comes in to spend money, how about instead of telling me to go to another store because your saw is down , tell me that you'd be happy to make sure the wood I was going to buy is cut when the saw is back up?? Lowe's is like the less busy Home Depot. Same wares, less foot traffic, easier to get in and out. Some brand names you will find at Home Depot; others at Lowe's, just depends on which got the concession. However one downside is that if you are looking for expert trade advice, such as for a project, you are more likely to get this at Home Deport where they tend to hire retired tradesmen - retired plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc., versus Lowe's where they will hire most anyone. It's maybe not so much that Home Depot has any different hiring standards, just that for whatever reason the retired tradesmen tend to work at HD not Lowe's. I have a handyman who works for me, and when we go to Lowe's to pick up materials he usually prefaces any questions to Lowe's staff with, "Do you know anything?" because very often, they really do not. Good return policy although if you lost your receipt and paid cash, they will, just like Home Depot, eventually start questioning your returns so do try to save your records in case you need to make a return. Lowe's are all over the place although there are fewer actual Lowe's stores (about 1800) than HD (about 2200) nationwide. Both Lowe's and HD will do mail order and store pickup; both will sell you gift cards. One time we got some flooring from Lowe's and it didn't really stay level, and anyway bottom line was that we got a full refund and did not have to return the flooring, which would have cost money to pull up and return anyway. Was for a condo I own and rent out so the flooring was okay, just not perfect. Neither Lowe's nor HD will give you the level of service you'll get at say, Dixieline, but then the prices are lower at Lowe's and HD, and there is much more on the shelves (much bigger stores) ready to go. read more

I no longer have any hope that your Lowe's is going to do anything to resolve my situation, but I do want to share it with you since I have been a loyal customer, credit card user and patron for many years and I know Lowe's has committed to improving service. I ordered a refrigerator from Lowe's at the beginning of November. I live in a small home in Hollywood Hills and the delivery people could not get it inside without taking the doors off. They told me to call my local Lowe's and they would get it inside. My first call to Lowe's was November 6 - the delivery day. They told me that they would have someone there the next day but could not give me a window. I was advised that they would call in the morning, on November 7th to advise of timing. I arranged for an adult friend to take the day off work and arrange to be home. She waited all day - no call, no show. I called on the 7th to the Lowe's store on Pico Blvd. again and spoke to Fernando (after being put on hold, getting VM and being transferred for 54 minutes), the delivery manager at the store. He promised to get someone there the next day. It was groundhog day - no call no show from anyone at Lowe's. I called again on the 8th and after 40 minutes of getting VM I gave up. On the 9th I called again and could never reach anyone. On Monday, November 11th I again tried reaching someone to no avail. I then took time away from my work and drove to Lowe's where they scheduled me for a "service call" on Wednesday, November 13th. Shockingly, no call and no show. I drove to the store again on Thursday and waited in line again. The girl who had scheduled me the day before told me that she remembered me and scheduling the visit but I was not on the manifest. I asked for a store manager and after waiting 40 minutes I spoke to Louis who apologized profusely and told me that he was going to get me taken care of and that I would have a "service call" the next day. We waited all day Friday and must be an idiot, but I really thought that they were going to show. They did not. On Saturday I was undone and drove to the store. I told them again that I just want the refrigerator picked up - returned. Obviously it was never going to be delivered inside as promised and they have repeatedly told me whatever they believe will get me out of the store most expediently with no resolution. I waited with Louis for Justin, the Installation Manager, to return. Justin returned and told me this was not his area, but that he was determined to help. He contacted Fernando (groundhog day again) who said he already had my order up and that he would have someone out on Sunday to get it inside. I have a handwritten note from him promising that today was the day my refrigerator would be taken inside my home. He told me he would call me before he left the store yesterday. He did not. This morning there had still been no call to give us the window for the alleged service call. I was put on the phone with Lucinda. She swore to me I was on the schedule today between 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. She was clearly quite put out by the exertion of dealing with me despite the fact that when I asked her she confirmed she has a refrigerator inside her kitchen, not in her backyard. In any case, it's 5:00 p.m. No call no show from Lowe's again. I'm disgusted and hope you are all disgusted, too. Not one person at Lowe's has followed up (except to send a survey link asking about my experience - hilariously, the link does not work). I just want the refrigerator out of my backyard. I'm cancelling my credit card with them and will never darken a Lowe's doorway again. I'd rather get crappy service at Home Depot, where at least they show up when they say they will. I truly don't expect to respond or get this resolved either - clearly Lowe's does not care about it's individual customers anymore. I've wasted hours of my time and tried to keep a refrigerator away from birds and wind. Rain is expected here tomorrow. The refrigerator is still in the box. Pretty medium experience inside! The employees that I spoke with were not friendly at all, the whole store was kind of a big mess and how some of the displays were carelessly thrown together caused me to laugh out loud as clearly no one seemed to care. I'd give this location a lower rating, but I went outside to the tree lot to purchase a Christmas tree and the employees working there were absolutely lovely and super helpful! I have been hung up on 7 times this far today. I've placed an order online for pickup thinking I was doing a good thing by not clogging their store with bodies. I know what I want precisely and it's already paid for. Sadly, the receipt that was emailed to me has something completely different. I ordered paint and I want to make sure the give me the correct paint type as well as color which neither were correct on my email receipt. Then she came over and (with an attitude) she told me lowe's doesn't do price checks. I literally have seen ads where lowe's advertises doing price checks and I also searched it up on their website before asking. Who knew Lowe's could suck so much? We usually shop at Home Depot but after looking for a washer/dryer at Home Depot, decided to try Lowe's to see if they had the set we wanted available. They did! Wonderful. So we purchased it with an extra installation set. Come delivery day the delivery people didn't have the installation set, so they dropped it off and set up another appointment for the installation. This never happened. No one ever came to install despite three more set appointments. They just never showed or cancelled last minute. So now we're trying to return and that's proving to be just as difficult for the same reason, no one shows despite the set appointment for pick up. So many trips to Lowe's and phone calls to Lowe's you'd think it's our favorite store. The lack of follow through of just keeping an appointment is astounding. Absurd. read more

Tried calling the store as well as the corporate line after receiving a delivery order that was damaged (2 of the 15 decking boards for my front porch arrived broken). The rack not only was missing the instructions but had already been constructed and damaged. There was just one cash register open and one self check out lane open. For a store this size to only have two registers open is laughable. One of the simplest concepts in retail, is to ensure customers don't have to wait in line to give the store money! The second most basic concept is to have store management create some urgency when this happens. Even more laughable, I regularly ask to speak to a manager, and they either refuse to come out of the office, or look at me like this is an acceptable business practice. This place is just okay. It's shocking how few home improvement stores there are in Mid-town and how the don't have a lot of what you came for. I prefer Home Depot, but I didn't want to drive to Hollywood and this is closer for me. Their garden section is fairly decent as they had most of what I came for and good prices at that. The outdoor lighting area is sadly lacking, most especially in nice solar fixtures. At least I made it out of their alive after nearly being run over by a guy collecting carts who didn't say excuse me or get the hell out of my way, just kind of glared at me with glazed eyes indicating he really didn't give a crap about his job. They are very nice to you when you come into the store to buy appliances. They take your money and if there is ever something wrong with your broken appliance, they never es t to deal with you.
