I am eating my way through their menu and will tell anyone and everyone that a good New York bagel is within reach now to us PNW people. Have I had a bad bite yet? No. Will you be mad? Idk, maybe. Disappointing. Cinnamon raisin bagel had some kind of added sugar, almost like a partial frosting, so too sweet for me. No coffee (have to go to next window to get some weak roast drip), no seating except sidewalk camp table, no service until I could find the guy. read more

First time here and last. Walked up and learned about the QR code ordering ahead process which was fine, but the woman at the window said to let her know my name so she could tell them I was there and speed up my order. Not only was my order not even on time for the online estimate of 35 minutes after placing my order, it took nearly another 20 minutes. An hour for bagels is insane. I had multiple employees ask for my name, tell me it would be ready soon ("They're bagging it now." "It'll be another 5 minutes." "Another 2-3 minutes." IN THIS ORDER OF RESPONSES) and then I never saw them again. Considering how long it took for us to get our bagels, I would have expected they at least would be fresh. 2 bagels were luke-warm and the other entirely cold. Not at all worth the hassle and standing in the cold for nearly an hour. In the time we were waiting, another woman came to pick up her bagel that was supposed to be toasted and buttered. I never Yelp, because I was in hospitality for 12 years. I felt compelled to write this. I placed a pre-order and I was really excited that they were south of the city now. I'm from the east coast. Jewish. A bagel is my religion. The owner "helped" us today, and he was SO sour. Like, didn't thank us, didn't look at us in the eye. Wasn't grateful we were there. He was downright rude and nasty to us. Like he wished we weren't there. (And I know it's the owner because I follow their social media). You'd think someone trying to open a brick and mortar would be nicer? He seemed angry and agitated. The bagels were mediocre. We won't be back. Also I hope they stop using King salmon. Went to check out Loxsmith known to be one of the better stops for bagels around Seattle. A perfect choice for breakfast. I chose the Jersey all in its cheesy, eggy glory on a Cheddar Jalepeno as well as a Loxsmith sando. They also have a great selection of Bagels where as most places offer only 6-7 they have 15 different bagels. I grabbed myself the Charcoal, a few Pumpernickel, and an Egg Everything to go. Service was great and food was fast. There will definitely be a return trip in the future for the Albacore and the Manhattan. read more

I love bagels. Like, 1/2 my dietary intake would be just bagels w cream cheese. So when the v cool, almost "too-cool-please-think-I'm-cool-too" owner recommended I get a bagel sandwich, I almost bowled over. No way would I break with my favorite pair. Well. The schmear I could eat by the spoonful. And the Ikura! Sushi-grade, bursts of salty/umami that I needed at that moment and didn't even know I did. Every ingredient is top shelf with the standouts being the smoked salmon and the best bagels in town. Woke up early, so excited to try Lox Smith. Placed my order at 7:40 online, scheduled pickup around their opening time of 8am. Drove 20 minutes and arrived at 8:05. Went in to pick up my order... And I was informed that the bagels had not arrived from their bakery yet. Asked about my coffee, "we're out of coffee too." Like they literally have no beans. Why did you open if you have no food or coffee? Why are you accepting online orders if you have no food or coffee? I asked for a refund and I was told that only the owner can do that. I came here because Kenji Alt Lopez had recommended it as the best lox in Seattle and I can definitely agree. I got the Leo ($14), which is lox and eggs and cream cheese. It's quite messy to eat (so I'm glad I took it home first) but it's so delicious. I did wait awhile for it and I thought it was odd that one of their employees was smoking right next to all the food preparation. However, I had a friendly experience with them overall! Good bagels, poorly run/staff. We pre ordered our bagels, but apparently by the time they packed them, they had run out of one of the type of bagels in our bag of a dozen, because they took it upon themselves to replace them with whatever random bagels they felt like. They of course counted on the fact that we wouldn't open the stapled bag until we got home to find they replaced a quarter of our bagels with a random assortment of Nori and Garlic bagels we didn't ask for instead of their everything bagels - without telling us. read more

We were one of the first to order but still had to wait ~30 minutes even though neither of us had ordered anything cooked. I appreciate that this place has gluten-free bagels -- good bagels and pasta are some of the food groups I miss while living la vida gluten-free. I'd had a tasty breakfast bagel here before, so decided I'd get a toasted and buttered GF bagel @ Delridge to fortify me for Saturday errands. There were two issues with my order -- the bagel was *not* toasted, and it was not buttered. I'm rarely the kind of person to send food back or ask for do-overs. But for close to $8 (including tip and online order fees), how hard is it to toast and butter a bagel? The cashier got someone from the kitchen to come out, and when I pulled the bagel out of the bag, which clearly was not toasted, and clearly had not been buttered, he proceeded to gaslight me and tell me he did toast and butter the bagel -- which was cold and naked in its food paper. Instead of offering to right the order, he just stared at me like a stone cold bagel with no "I've been in a toaster today" crispiness (I get when you pick a thing up it may cool off) and no butter on it was what I'd ordered. So I left. Dudes, get a new toaster, and if you're going to charge people 50 cents for butter atop a $5 bagel, then by golly please PUT BUTTER on it. I went to the Nuflours/Flying Apron and bought a bagel which they toasted for me on the spot and offered with butter (no charge for the butter, either).... Loxsmith, I applaud you in concept but you gotta do better. read more
