I recently went to Loyal for the first time and was really let down by the customer service. My vehicle was letting off a moderately sized cloud of thick grey smoke every time I started it up, it needed an oil change, and the back left side tire was leaking. When I called to make an appointment I was instructed to drop my van off Tuesday morning. They said they'd look at it first thing. They open at 8am (and I had dropped the van off the night before) so when I didn't hear anything from them by 12:30pm I decided to call. No one picked up. Maybe they were out to lunch or working on the vehicle. I left a message inquiring what they had found so far, and asked that they would call me back. Over an hour later I had still heard nothing. So I called back again. This time someone picked up, but he was rude and completely unhelpful. Not only had my vehicle not been looked at yet, they weren't even sure that they would get to it that day. Obviously annoying. I asked that he please call me either when they started working on it or before they close (5pm) if they weren't going to get to it because I would just come pick it up and take it somewhere else. Having not heard anything by 4:30pm I called back. This time it was a much nicer man, who said that they did get to it (no one called me to let me know though) and that they'd need to keep it over night. The oil had been changed, the tire had a nail in it but they don't do any tire work at all, but the smoke issue would involve more work to pin-point the issue. I was fine with that. The next day I kept waiting to hear from them again. Nothing. So I call them around 2pm to see what was up. The nicer man picked up the phone. He said they couldn't find any real issues. They had removed the spark plugs to see whether or not there was oil or coolant leaking, but there wasn't. He listed a few other things, but essentially we landed on an "I don't know". Soooo, after all of this poor communication and waiting, I ended up paying $75 (that doesn't include the money for the oil change) to be told jack about my vehicle. The owner was awesome and took care of the problem quickly, he even helped me with a few other things (bad taillight) without taking payment even though I offered. This instantly earned my trust, this shop could have easily taken me for a ride but didn't even when I gave them a budget for troubleshooting my problem, I thought I was in for a blown head gasket! Not only was Loyal able to handle it, they were also very up front about what needed to be done and the charge was extremely reasonable. After seeing 5 mechanics, talking on the phone with 15 of them, and over a year of frustration due to the same car issue that nobody even wanted to look at, Loyal Automotive was willing to help! I have a 2009 Ford escape hybrid and was dealing with intermittent overheating issues. I even brought it to the Ford dealership (as a last resort) and they couldn't even figure it out. After reading reviews online about Loyal Automotive, I gave them a call and talked to Eddy at the Shoreline location and he was willing to look at it (that alone was a blessing!). Then after his team inspected it, using more than just codes and computer software, they were able to pinpoint the problem and fix it fast! Jesse took the time to explain to me what steps they had taken, what part needed to be replaced and why, which I really appreciate. My car now runs great and I'm beyond relieved. The skid plate on my car had come loose and was banging on my tailpipe, making the most annoying, loud noise in the northern Seattle. I called up Loyal Automotive, they said they could fit me right in--so I headed down on my lunch break. Eddie quickly found the problem, which was that a plastic fastener which kept the skid plate in place had broken. Now maybe he could have ordered a part and turned it into a big rigmarole, but instead he quickly welding the skid plate into place and charged me less than $50 with tax for a half an hour of work. I took a look at it and that skid plate is really on there now. I grabbed lunch and was back working on time, and can now retain most (more?) of my sanity while driving. These young men are doing it right. Honest, reliable, and courteous. Their service estimates beat the competition handily and I have never been sold a part or service that I didn't absolutely need. One example is a recent brake job they did for me. The competition worked in a brake fluid flush for $69.00 into their estimate for my car. Eddie of Loyal Automotive not only beat their core estimate by $150.00 but told me that my brake fluid was fine and didn't need a change. If I were a child, I would definitely draw these guys one of those giant colorful thank you cards for you to hang on the shop's wall. But, I am an adult, so I am going to write a yelp review. Next best thing. I brought in my Honda CRV Friday for a simple oil change and to check on a rattle. To spare the details, it quickly turned into a huge investigative mess trying to figure out why the check engine light was coming on even after the part in question had been changed. This has been an ongoing issue for me for a couple of years and NO MECHANIC has been able to figure out why the light is on. Eddie and his team at Loyal Automotive not only worked very very hard to find out what the problem was, they updated me along the way, and explained every detail (in the most layman's terms to accommodate my severe lack of car knowledge) SO joyfully literally every step of the way. In the end, they were able to find the issue, which is amazing in itself. They even stayed over 2 hours late on a Friday to help out -- WHAT?! I know. I was blown away, too. I've been taken for a ride lots of times with auto mechanics because I don't know about cars, but Loyal Automotive was amazing, and I totally trusted them to be honest with me, honest about prices, and honestly do the best they could. They worked so so extremely hard on my pill of a car, and I am very grateful for them and their service. I even made a Yelp account specifically to review their awesome service - which I obviously never do. This shop deserves 5 stars after fixing a problem we've had for 8 years. 2 other mechanics charged us $150 a pop just to pass emissions, but never actually fixed the problem.
