Well, I finally broke down and brought a new truck. Had been looking online for the perfect truck…read moreand I found it at Rick Hendrick Chevrolet Buick in Richmond Virginia, about an hour and twenty minute drive for me. So the process started, selected the truck online and got the loan started. My sales rep Dan, called me with some good news and some bad news. The good news was the loan was approved, the bad new was the truck I applied for was sold. However, there was one just like it (except for the color) was just unloaded off a train in Petersburg and was on the way to the lot. As soon as the vehicle was on the lot, Dan texted my pictures, I Loved the way it looked and had all I needed. So I set up a time to get with Dan to take it for a spin. When I arrived at Rick Hendrick, Dan was parking the vehicle out front for me to drive. After the drive, decided that we wanted to purchase it, Dan went right to work. He got the truck prep then took my over to the business office to sign the deal. I met with Robert, who had a state of the art signing board, which meant you didn't walk out with a bunch of paper, but everything downloaded to a thumb-drive. I really liked that. Robert than took me on a tour of the dealership, showing me the service department, collision center, parts and gave me a few parting gifts to keep the truck looking good. This dealership was amazing, professional and was state of the art! I was thinking, that I would drive an hour for service, yes it was that amazing! Highly recommend buying your next vehicle at Rick Hendrick Chevrolet Buick! You will not be let down! Happing Yelping!

Do not bring your vehicle to Hendrick GMC's service department. You will regret it…read more I came in for a simple oil change and tire rotation. The oil change alone came out to over $200 -- significantly more than any other shop in the area. And that was before they tried to pressure me into four additional services totaling thousands of dollars, none of which were recommended or even mentioned in my owner's manual. This wasn't an honest mistake. This was a deliberate attempt to take advantage of a customer. To make matters worse, I was charged $250 for a diagnostic fee on a separate issue -- one that their technicians could not duplicate after less than five minutes of troubleshooting. Five minutes. $250. They did nothing, found nothing, and still had the audacity to charge me for it. When I asked to speak with someone about waiving the fee, I was directed to Donnie Atkins -- the line manager and the person who is supposed to be the face of customer service at this dealership. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he was rude, combative, and completely unwilling to have a reasonable conversation. If this is the standard of leadership here, it explains everything about how this service department operates. This dealership will overcharge you, recommend services you don't need, charge you for work they didn't do, and treat you poorly when you push back. Go anywhere else.

My rating is based on the overall customer experience at Richmond Ford West. When I walked into the service reception area, it took quite a while before anyone acknowledged me. I understand that some employees were busy helping customers or on the phone, but there were others who weren't occupied. Even a simple "Hi, we'll be with you shortly" would have made a big difference. Instead, I was left standing there feeling unsure of where to go or if anyone knew I was waiting. I had an appointment to have two tires replaced, and the tires were already in stock, so I expected the service to take about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Instead, I waited nearly 3 hours. Delays can happen, but better communication would have gone a long way. A quick update or an estimated completion time would have helped manage expectations. I understand that businesses can be short-staffed, and I know those situations aren't always within the employees' control. However, when staffing is limited, hospitality and communication become even more important. A warm greeting, acknowledging customers, and providing updates throughout the process can make a huge difference in the overall experience. Those small interactions help customers feel valued, even when wait times are longer than expected. Overall, the work on my vehicle was good, but the customer service and communication throughout the visit didn't match the level of service I was expecting to get from a premium dealership. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future customers.

Only problem was that dealer was 4 hours away. Called and spoke to Nathan at around 4:00pm. That's when the over the top exceptional customer service experience began. We had recently thought we found a vehicle only to arrive at dealer and find the car was sold. Expressed our concern that this might happen again. Nathan explained the VA Select Policy of not "holding" a car if someone came into lot and wanted to purchase. What he did do, was commit to letting us know upon closing that evening (via text), that the car was in fact still available and we could commit to driving there in the morning. But that wasn't good enough for Nathan. He also went the extra mile and took a picture of a scratch he noticed on the vehicle and sent us pictures. Said he would ask the body shop to buff it out first thing in the morning. We texted Nathan when we departed our house at 6:30am (they don't open until 9) and he was then able to remove it from the lot so no one could purchase since we were now enroute. Upon arriving to the location after 4-hour drive, the first thing we say at the entrance was a shiny, newly detailed Dodge Charger. My son was very excited and Nathan proceeded to give us a 30-minute certificate to do a test drive. This completely suprised us, as our experience had been drive around the block with saleperson hovering in back seat. Son was convinced it was the car after driving it for 5 minutes. Upon our return, Nathan offered us beverages and escorted us to his desk for the daunting "sign and make it yours experience". Not once did we feel pressure. No haggling was required (we knew this before we came), and Nathan patiently answered each and every question. Once the paperwork was complete and ready for us to go to the financing department, we all went outside and talked about the car some more. Nathan shared several personal stories with our family and we were happy that we had him as our salesperson. But it didn't stop there. Once Finanace was ready for us, Nathan took it upon himself to take the vehicle to the the nearby service station and top of the gas tank. Outstanding. The financing process was quick and painless as we had pre-approval for the loan. Robert Seeney (F & I Manager) took over from there and made sure all the paperwork was in order since we were from out of state. He was extremely professional and had the personality of someone who took the customer service experience seriously. Bottom line is that our experience with Virginia Select Auto was exceptionally pleasant and we would hope that everyone would get the opportunity to work with Nathan if in the market to purchase a car. Their no-pressure process is something we will never forget. Thank you VA Select Auto!
