I actually been to The Dead Rabbit, but it was in New York. I found out that this location was related to the one in New York. I was surprised when I arrived that this location that it wasn't crowded being it was a Friday evening during at almost the end of Happy Hour. Seating was available right away. The service was fast, prompt, and professional. The staff were friendly, patient, and courteous. The ambiance was surprisingly not loud where you had to shout your order. Speaking about my order -- yes, I ordered the fish and chips, and a pint of Guinness. The fish and chips were cooked just right. The Guinness tasted like a properly-poured Guinness. But first, depending on what is going on in downtown, parking can be tricky to find. Upon entering the establishment you find a pretty good amount of seating. A kinda of bar feeling but still welcoming for families. You have the option to sit in the main room or the side room with a pool table to enjoy. As you choose your meal you go to the counter and let them know what you'll have to eat. The personnel at the counter are extremely helpful and considerate, answer any questions you might have about the food you are thinking about. They give you a number that you place on your table, and as they bring you your meal again that cordial attitude is on display. After being treated kindly, the next thing is the food. And to be honest the food was brought out and going on the first appearance was very pleasing. Now the taste, I first ordered the "Housemade Dough Bites" at first thought I didn't think it was going to be worth it. But I was completely wrong, these bites were delicious, crunchy and very flavorful and the dipping sauce brought out the taste of the bites. The next item was some chicken wings in a medium sauce with ranch dressing and some celery sticks, they too tasted great, good amount of meat and flavor. The last thing was the star of the meal, the pizza. I got the "Butcher's Block" specialty pizza, and it didn't disappoint, the different meats and the sauce was excellent. This is by far one of my favorites. So if you're looking for a good pizza place, you can't go wrong with "Calahan's".
