Ltauha is a true hidden gem, nestled on Myrtle Ave in Ridgewood. Though it doesn't boast flashy signage or a bustling facade, this place is a neighborhood secret, a go-to spot for locals and those in the KNOW! I've dined here a total of 3 times throughout the years. It's always a lovely experience. The food is always delicious and well presented and the service is always warm and friendly. My daughter started off with their buffalo wings the last time we dined here. I ended up trying one and OMG it was sooo good! Making buffalo wings is definitely a craft!! Some Restaurants just don't have it down-pact..but Ltauha is SPOT ON!! Their wings are Dee-licious, crispy on the outside, tender / meaty on the inside and covered in a balanced, flavorful spicy sauce! Perfection!! For Brunch, my Dad got the shrimp quesadilla and me and my daughter got the Flat Iron steak. You cannot go wrong with the Flat iron Steak with eggs and home style potatoes! There is always a party in my mouth when I dine here lol. I will be returning!
Cuisine: 8 Service: 9 Decor: 7 Value: 10 Overall: 9 What a fantastic restaurant that deserves a lot of love. I rarely update my reviews unless warranted. Well, 8 years after my brief take on this restaurant, I have way more to say after my recent visit. First of all, how many restaurants serving high quality cuisine still has a menu full of entrees mostly in the low $20s. The steak was the only item that was barely over $30. Unbelievably value for how good everything was tasted. Here is what we had. Island Creek ME oysters (9/10) - Perfectly shucked and refreshing. Meaty, not too briny, with a hint of sweetness. So good. We had to order a second dozen after really enjoying the first batch. Fried Crispy Artichoke Salad (8/10) - This was such a wonderful plate of greens with a light vinaigrette, plenty of Parmesan cheese, and accented with pieces of crispy artichoke. St. Louis BBQ Ribs (7/10) - Fall off the bone and quite tasty. Sauce was tangy and sweet. I wouldn't mind a whole rack of ribs if I was in the mood. Duck Ragu (9/10) - OMG! Clearly the dish of the night for many of us. What a delightful dish that blows away most pasta courses in even fine Italian restaurants. Extremely flavorful with perfectly cooked cavatelli. PEI Mussels w/ Sambal Cream Sauce (7/10) - Decent sized and mostly plump mussels. Sauce had depth of flavor that had a small kick, though a bit salty. Went extremely well with the well toasted bread though. Pork Chop w/ Pork Au Jus (8/10) - I requested for medium, but the chef didn't want to serve undercooked pork and delivered it medium well. Regardless, it was great with such a refined sauce. Shrimp Pappardelle Pasta (8/10) - Mom's favorite item of the evening. Perfectly al dente wide ribbons of noodles in a light shrimp flavored sauce. Yum! Chicken Piccata (8/10) - Simple, yet well done. The breast meat was moist and the sauce added such a delectable touch to the dish. Mascarpone Cheesecake (7/10) - Creamy cheesecake with a tart raspberry sauce that was complimentary from the restaurant when our server overheard there was a birthday at the table. Chocolate Soufflé (8/10) - I wouldn't necessarily call it a soufflé, more like a chocolate lava cake. Regardless, it was delicious paired with some pistachio ice cream. Lastly, I have to talk about the exceptional service provided by our main server Ramon and the sweet lady server who also helped out. They were extremely attentive without being overbearing. Swapped out our plates/utensils and brought new napkins constantly. Ramon brought us free dessert as I mentioned earlier and even held the door for us as we left the restaurant. Wonderful people who I will support going forward. I plan to revisit in the next couple of weeks and bring more friends. Update: Went a week later for brunch. If they have the Fried Cod Sandwich as a special, then you should definitely order that. It was a super thick cut of fish that was crispy and tender. Almost everything else on the regular menu was solid. House Burger was had an awesome smoky char on the crust, but I wish the meat was crumblier. Everyone enjoyed the Brioche French Toast, but the doughy Belgian Waffle was the worst dish of the day. Flat Iron Steak was not bad, but it was small and I can do without it.
First time coming here it was open at 11am Sunday for brunch. Our waiter told us about the specials and happy hour has started and margaritas was $8. How can I pass up on margaritas. I had a frozen margarita and my friend had the on rocks passion fruit. We both agreed the strings were strong. I had the pancakes which were fluffy crispy edges and tasty. The other plate home fries well seasoned with a lil heat. The bacon was thickkkkk but also delicious. Scrambled eggs were good too. I would come here again maybe for dinner/lunch next time just to try more things in the menu. It's spacious in here the tables are comfortable not overcrowded spot. Come here it was delicious I am full from my dish it hit every spot.
I was searching for a really awesome pre-dinner Happy Hour cocktail and oysters and landed at Ltauha. Upon entering the dimly-lit establishment, I was warmly greeted by the bartender. The ambiance is quite romantic. This place is perfect for date night. My server was kind and efficient. I prefer my oysters to be grilled, so I opted for the Brussel Sprouts instead and the Spicy Pineapple Margherita. Both were absolutely delicious. The brussel sprouts were roasted to perfection, the bacon added a wonderful smokiness, and the parmesan added a creaminess that was unexpected but welcomed. My cocktail was absolutely dynamite; well-balanced with the right amount of spice. Although my time was short, L'tauha fantastically executed the two items that I ordered.
Steak 4/5- worth the price! Well seasoned & cooked Pasta 2/5- dried, lacks flavor. A lot of gigantic shrimp though. Chips & Guac 5/5- good portion! Chips were thick yet crisp Tried two different times. One time they had chips & guac and one time they did not. Not sure why! Sangria & freshly made orange juice were also on point!
Everything was delicious from the drinks to the apps. The Brussels sprouts were amazing slightly crispy with a softer interior topped with cheese and bacon. The grilled octopus was grilled to perfection perfectly charred with a chewable inside and slightly crispy exterior. It was well seasoned . We enjoyed our cocktails as well Ltauha and Mezcal Mule. For dessert we had Banana Tarte Tatin and it was delicious, especially if you're a banana lover.
I had the pork belly Benedict, which was delicious, very heavy and filling. the potatoes are seasoned so well, highly recommend them. the pork belly was more like Colombian frittada. I also had the mango Bellini I didn't really taste too much mango flavor. The service was good. No complaints there. The ambience is nothing crazy, it's a clean place. Seems like a Diner that got some wooden tables so it's a bit eclectic in a strange way. I can't really pinpoint the cuisine it seems American but the ambience seems a bit more Latino diner-esque.
Can't decide what I liked more - hospitality or food! It's the kind of spot that prides itself on simple dishes made so skillfully. Ingredients are fresh, flavors are rich and portions are generous. We went for the goat cheese portobello omelette and avocado toast and will explore more next time!

Came here for brunch when my family was visiting because it's close by my apartment, and the food was amazing! The ambiance in the restaurant was very relaxed, and the service was great. We got the huevos rancheros and the chilaquilas, which were both insanely delicious. Would recommend! read more
I call upon Saturday brunch to color the table with quality food and attentive service. Heed the hope within my mind. Fill the emptiness and complete the soul. The aroma of food invoke the spirit to awaken me from within. From now until it is now again open hearts reveal quality food. Norwegian Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict with home style potatoes and salad - $12.00 Solid meal well crafted with detail and care as the running egg yolk was well conceived and excellently prepared. The smoked salmon was very fresh and flavorful as I am truly enamored of smoked salmon. Disappointedly no Hollandaise sauce is provided as it is traditional for eggs Benedict dish. The home style potatoes and salad were solid and a good addition to complete the meal. Additional condiments are available upon request as the waiter inquired if I desired any. Shirley Temple (Jamaican Style) $5.00 (non-alcoholic) - uses strawberry syrup to provide its distinctive bright red color and Jamaican ginger beer to give it "punch" with Maraschino cherries and one slice of fresh orange. I highly prefer the traditional Shirley Temple as, again with disappointment, I did not taste any ginger ale. This drink is traditionally serve in a highball glass, however, Ltauha Restaurant serves it in a large wine glass. Hospitality service is attentive and friendly as I was immediately seated at a table and serviced. No comment on restroom facility as I did not utilize. This restaurant is good for dates. read more

We came for brunch on Sunday with my friends. The place is nice, their service was good. We ordered Benedicts and steak and eggs, the food was really good, it came on time. Their mimosas are tasty. The only issue was when we wanted to pay we gave them 3 cards and the said the can only accept 2. I know that's not true, used to work in hospitality and you can accept more cards, I mean, it's ok if you wanna pay with 5 cards, but 3? What if we wanted separate checks? Nice place, great food, but that policy about only 2 cards makes me think about if I wanna come back with more friends or just me. read more

Decided to go in for an early dinner and I was not disappointed. My first time going I had the half chicken with the potato gnocchi and it was amazing. We had the calamari, Mac and cheese with slab bacon as appetizers. It was the best Mac and cheese I ever had in my life!! Can't wait to go and get more. For my entree I ordered the shrimp pappardelle pasta and it was delicious as well. The restaurant is calm and simple but as soon as u walk in you feel a welcoming vibe. I loved my meal here and recommend everyone go try this place out. read more

This update has nothing to do with the food but everything to do with the people that work here. I will never support and give my money to an establishment that turns a blind eye to domestic violence directly outside of their restaurant. Especially when I as a customer come in and say that I would like a table for two but first need assistance in calling the police to report the explicitly abusive altercation going on in front of their store! I was told no they can't and won't call for help. I will never support an establishment that turns away someone asking for help! And neither should you. read more

Finally, great eats are coming to Ridgewood! Ltauha was much needed in our neighborhood, and they're serving up excellent lunch, brunch and dinner fare. I'm always quite surprised when we walk by and find that Ltauha is a little bit vacant, but I'm kind of glad that it's still a bit of a secret and not crowded yet. We've been here for dinner three times, and for lunch/brunch once. Each time, service has been great and the food has been delicious! My favorite menu items are the branzino (a special), the soft-shell crab sandwich (a special), and the BBQ ribs. The branzino is amazing. They serve it whole, seemingly pan-friend, over a bed of succotash. I could seriously eat this everyday. It's a huge portion, so be prepared to share. The fish is always cooked so perfectly, and it just falls right off. Perfection! The soft-shell crab sandwich was not only perfectly cooked, but you could tell that the crab was fresh. A pet-peeve of Russell and me is when you're served soft-shell crab that has been frozen and it's just full of water from defrosting. But not here! The crab here is so tasty, served on a huge, delicious sandwich. You must try this! And lastly, the BBQ ribs...I'll be honest, at first, I was a bit skeptical. The menu here seems a little bit too fancy for BBQ, but these are always cooked perfectly and topped with lots of sauce. Also, I've noticed a trend in many BBQ restaurants where the food is not very hot, but these ribs were steaming and the meat comes right off the bone. It's served with a side of coleslaw (that has tomatoes in it, I think? Different, but so refreshing and good). Again, you have to try this...in fact, you'll want two orders, trust me! Sorry for all of the exclamation points in this review, but I'm really excited to have Ltauha in the 'hood. Not only is the food awesome, but the service and atmosphere are even better. read more

No changes in the rating, as they've always been a five star business to me. Many more visits later, we still haven't been disappointed. This is a solid joint! I commented quite a bit on their wall decor in my first review and it looks like all of that has been addressed. My OCD is at peace. read more

Happened to be in the neighborhood this afternoon, so my best friend (and fellow foodie) and I stopped in to check this place out. It was 1pm and they were only serving from the brunch menu. There was a private party going on in the party room upstairs and a large party of cackling women at the long table in the center of the small restaurant. The restrooms are located down a narrow stairwell and through a small hallway in the basement. I almost suggested we go somewhere else. Boy, am I glad I sat down and gave this place a fair shake. The food and service knocked my socks off! I had the pork belly eggs Benedict, which was heavenly! The pork belly was so crisp yet melted in my mouth like butter. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the hollandaise was used sparingly, but just enough to highlight all the flavored and textures of the dish. A small spring mix salad was served on the side with a tangy dressing. Our server and busboy were both on point. My water glass never went empty. Somehow, I left room for dessert and chose the light yet decadent chocolate soufflé, which was served warm with a delightful pistachio ice cream. And a latte so perfect that I had to order a second one--it was that good! I was climbing the walls from the caffeine overdose but it was so worth it--masterfully crafted with rich espresso and velvety foam. I can't wait to go back so we can try the regular menu! read more

Stopped in for brunch. We had the chicken & waffles benedict and smoked salmon benedict, both of which were very good (the seasoned potatoes that came with each meal were a highlight too). This place is unfussy, reasonably priced and has genuinely kind staff. Might be our new go-to spot. read more

I ordered the salmon entree from their online menu. Uh, they decided to slop some beans down as a side replacement with a skimpy bit of sautéed spinach. Not a good replacement for what was supposed to be creamy mushroom risotto w/asparagus. We spent a good amount of money here and the lady on the phone was giving us excuses as to why they what they did. The right thing would've been to call and let us know what we ordered wasn't available... Beware, a lot of things on their website menu aren't available. The only reason why I gave them an extra star was because they did eventually deliver side alternatives which were mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts and were pretty tasty. read more

3.5 Not bad for brunch. It's a decent choice if you're in the neighborhood. Prices are fair (about $10-$15) per entree and the portions are just right. Food was served in a timely manner and they let us lounge around and chitchat (they didn't rush us out when we were done with the food). The host/waiters were friendly and came around to refill our drinks on a frequent basis. The decor is pretty nice. Also, we didn't have to wait long to be seated. Had the salmon egg benedict. It came with potato wedges and a bit of salad. It was decent and I love that it didn't taste overly greasy (as another reviewer mentioned). Stumbled across this place when in NY & I'm happy I did! I ordered the chicken sandwich & it was delicious. If you're an avocado fan, it's a great choice. The food was fresh & the service was decent. The best part is you get quality food for reasonable prices. read more

It's my first time in New York and I just checked yelp for a brunch place close to my airbnb. This place was a hidden gem. I was surprised to see a brunch place was empty on a Sunday morning but that meant better service. I was quickly greeted and served. I ordered the lobster eggs Benedict ($14) and my boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs ($14.) I loved my eggs Benedict, the potatoes were nice and crispy, and the greens were good and rounded off the meal. Overall a lot of food for a pretty affordable price. Highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

YAASSSSSSSSS Solid 4.5 place. Missing .5 stars because of the size of the portions. I googled "best brunch in Glendale" and this spot popped up. Parking around here usually sucks so I was kind of nervous about driving in (even though it's a 20min walk from my home) but parking wasn't an issue. When we got in there were like three other tables, but it's now close to 1pm and the place is totally packed. The coffee is exceptional. I am doing this new no sugar cleanse and this coffee is worthy of drinking without sugar which just made my life easier. My husband got the pork belly Benny's- I got the goat cheese omelette which is really two eggs with mushrooms goat cheese and asparagus inside. Home fries are BOMB- best I've had in my life. Lettuce salad has olive oil and salt only- but perfectly seasoned nonetheless. My husbands Benny's were soooo good tastes like Colombian chicharrón with poached eggs. We were both still a little hungry after our dish though- we expect brunch to hold us down for breakfast and lunch and it just didn't. He had the pancakes which he really enjoyed- I had the strawberries and kiwi in the pancakes which were also very good. Def a good place to come to with friends and I will consider this place in the future for birthdays and other celebrations. Bravo Ltauha!!!!! read more

Wow. This is the second time going here and Getting the steak and eggs and a side of bacon. Everything I had was phenomenal. Perfectly seasoned to perfectly cooked. The bacon alone was nice and thick. Added some maple on it for some sexy time. Literally cleaned every drop. I have no idea about any of the other things on the menu. Trust in me, STEAK AND EGGS WITH SIDE OF BACON!! I feel great, now it's nap time. Thank you for your consistency. I will be seeing you very soon. read more

Stopped by for lunch. This place can be busy in the evenings, but when I am in the area during the afternoon, it is usually very quiet here. Ordered a drink and a grilled chicken sandwich. Delighted to have juicy, well prepared chicken, with avocado, lettuce and tomato. Fresh soft bun was fine. Loved the fries, but then again I always love fries. Waiter was professional and pleasant, but I wasn't in a chatty mood, just hungry and in a bit of a rush. Good place during the day for either a hurried, or leisurely lunch. read more

Good brunch option. Decent price, and good ambiance. Okay service, could be better. I liked the Duck hash and the Lobster benedict. Overall, a nice brunch spot if near the area. It is a bit out of the way if you don't live around Ridgewood. read more

Brunch is one of my favorite meals. I was planning on going to another brunch place but (luckily) they were closed. I have had Ltauha Restaurant bookmarked for quite some time and I am happy that I finally was able to try it out for myself. I had a glass of wine ($10.00) Not the cheapest but the portion was worth it. I came here with my mom. We split the cheeseburger and the lobster eggs benedict. Everything was delicious and very filling. I look forward to returning. The service was great and everyone at the restaurant seemed to be having a good time. read more
