Horrible experience! Staff and Students arguing is completely unprofessional. Just comes to show that the staff probably likes to bully the students. The women look old and grouchy, need to get off their power trips and come back to reality. I feel bad for the students! I don't think anyone would want to go here! lol Well that was my experience, trying to go the cheaper route, just reminded me that paying a little more is worth it! NEVER AGAIN! Horrible communication , and even more horrible students ! Very rude and unprofessional , I over heard one of the girls saying some pretty rude hurtful things about me but I bit my lip because there young girls , but then it just got even ruder and ruder to the point I was very uncomfortable but I sat thur because I had a wedding I needed my hair done for that afternoon , and because all this I was there for 2 hours just to get my hair curled ! I asked to to leave my hair pinned cus it goes flat quickly , well when I got home to remove pins they where just jammed into my hair I couldn't get them out without pulling my hair out as well finally I got someone to help remove them and my hair was a mess ! We tried to fix it which made me late to my event , I will say this some students seemed nice gave a smile as you walked by but other and probably 80 percent of them stare at you with judging eyes , I will personally never go back there ! read more

don't go to lu ross while my daughter was having her hair done her money was stolen out of her wallet, staff could care less. unprofessional, and the director did not care to even help look into the matter. their answer was call on tuesday....i guess it ok someone stole money from a teenage girl, the message they are giving the students is go ahead and steal from the clients we don't care. read more

Absolutely horrible how they treat the students, the instructors are insanely rude, dressed sloppy and not groomed. 10/10 would NEVER recommend to anyone. I would rather get a hair cut from Supercuts, as bad as that is. The teachers could care less about the students and don't teach them anything. I come here and Jessica puts me to sleep and I leave relaxed and happy , she's never rough with me , they have music playing and everyone is smiling talking very friendly. I took my family to here to get their hair cut. The total came out to $34 and they charged me $68. They are not returning the amount they over charged to me even though I have a receipt showing the $34. The business office manager I spoke to was rude, insensitive, and did not return my calls as promised. I will not return nor will I support a business with such poor practices. Update: It has been 10 days since this incident and still have not received my money back. I tried calling the business operations manager to explain I still do not have my money and she put me on a 45 min hold and then proceeded to pick up and hang up on me. read more

I'd been to Lou Ross once before today, the stylist and floor managers were great...I left happy and thrilled with my cut. I made an appt this morning for a trim, 930AM...I arrive and am greeted, I have my 5 yo in tow, the receptionist acknowledges him with "are you getting a cut too", he dips down and hides...I am told to wait in the reception area, I do and am met by my stylist a minute later...really nice girl, my son does not want to sit in the cutting area in a chair near me, so I oblige and let him sit in the lobby in front of a window where I can see him...the stylist washes my hair, give me a great scalp massage...before I return to her chair, I go see my son and make sure he stays where I can see him...I return to her chair, and am confronted by a manager..."how old is your son". 5, I say...he can't be in the lobby unless he is 12, OK sure, I will make him sit next to me (I was fine she would lay down the rule he had to be in cutting area with me, my perferance), then she says he can't sit next to you either...my hair is dripping wet, all down my back and all over my shirt...she says a service can't be performed because of my child...I am shocked. I leave $2 for the stylist, and go to the counter to get my haircut money back...no one knows how to do a refund, incl the manager....it was embarrassing and humiliating! I understand policy...and I am fine with no kids under 12 in the lobby and only clients in the cutting area! I think the better approach would have been to make an exception and let me child sit next to me while the service was finished, at the same time talk to the receptionist about the policy and make sure it is told to the client BEFORE the service is started!! The manager was rude, unprofessional, and needs to better manage staff rather than embarrass and kick out a client mid-service. No fault on the stylists...happy to support students practicing their future profession! read more

Came to get a facial today. The gal who did it was very professional and did a great job of explaining each step. As for the teachers/cashier, they took forever to even acknowledge i was in the room and afterwards wanting to pay. kinda ridiculous but my gal was good! I had a wonderful series of treatments at Lu Ross Academy. The staff was very professional and attentive. Enjoyed the salt body scrub and the mud body mask with seaweed and algae. Very relaxing atmosphere with soothing music and gentle hands. And you pay a fraction of the price that you pay at a spa. read more

I am a customer who went to Lu Ross for the first time because they provide service in the evenings. I was dealing with two supervisors Stevee and Manqué Enns. They screwed up my hair color with another color I only went there only for a touch up. I had asked them for the color chart so I can tell them which color I use , they refused to show me the chart and I asked them several times. When they washed out the color my hair root was almost black so they left me with a two tone color black and my original color red. When I complained about the screw up they both kicked me out of the academy. Before then they would not even provide me with a towel so I can dry my hair. My hair was soaking wet when I left. This was the worst customer service ever!! besides the place is very, very dirty!!!!! These two supervisor use intimidation, humiliation, retaliation , cover up and they lie. read more

Upon entering I should known better and left right away. (There are mounds of cigarette butts along the way.) I know the price is right but how could my hair job be so wrong. I didn't sign up to be a Ginny pig. You should have to sign a waiver. My hair is fried thanks to Lu Ross students. The so called pro supervisor in charge was no where to be found and the student was left to sulk after seeing what she did to my hair. You are warned. First time, brow wax, mani/pedi. Spent almost 3 hrs. Loved it. Students really care, so friendly.take their time, to do a good job. Yes, its busy, its SCHOOL! Best tip I have ever spent. It is really hit or miss. I have been going for two years and if you ask for a more advanced student, you have a better chance of coming out OK! But, then she is closer to graduating and you start over. I have had students ASK ME how to do something in the process!? BUT, THE REASON I AM LEAVING LU ROSS IS THAT THERE IS NEVER ANY PARKING! There is a large parking lot that is full of students and not any room for customers. They have so many classes at once that by the time a customer comes in in mid morning, there is no place to park. There is no parking on the street and you are out of luck! I had to double park and go in and I told the girl at the desk that I had to cancel my appt. because there is no parking! She said "OK, do you want me to make another appt.!!!!!!" I said "can you guarantee there will be a place to park at another time" and she said "not really!!!" No, "sorry" or "let me see what I can do" or anything. So...my neighbor and I have both had the same problem and have stopped going for this reason. They just cannot have students and customers at the same time. They need to stagger the classes or the time customers can come. It would seem both are needed to maintain a "school!!" read more
