I was not going to leave a review for this company, but they sent me a request asking me to review…read moremy experience. They might regret asking me to do that. I was having issues with my AC not getting cool enough. I knew from past experience that my refrigerant level had gone down due to a leak somewhere in the system. I usually have to add refrigerant to the system every year at the beginning of summer. All I wanted them to do was recharge it (add refrigerant) so I could at least get my house cooled down while I decided what to do about the continuing issue. The refrigerant costs the company about $10 per pound but they charge us $289 per pound. I knew this going in. All the AC companies price gouge us with that. They sent someone out the same day. The service man they sent out was named Joshua. In all the years that I have dealt with service men (Gardeners, Plumbers, Electricians, Handy men, AC specialists etc.) I have never had any one talk to me the way this guy did. Everything word that came out of his mouth was negative. He gave me no solutions and no options other than buying a new $17000 AC system. Every time I asked a question, he would answer with a condescending attitude and make me feel like I was an idiot for even asking. I finally sent him away and said "Never mind, I'll call someone else". He called back 10 minutes later and said he wanted to come back. When he came back, I asked again if we could check the refrigerant levels and maybe add some refrigerant to get my house cooled back down. He checked the levels and said I was low and needed about 3 pounds. He then told me there was no guarantee that adding more refrigerant would change anything. I said "You mean I could pay $600 and end up with absolutely no change whatsoever"? He said Yes. Now because I've added refrigerant several times before, I knew that filling it up would give me a couple of months of cooling at the very least, but he was intimidating and looking at me once again like I was stupid, so I said "never mind, I'll pass". He then handed me a bill for $115. Important: I did speak to three other people from Comfort Air that day and they were all pleasant, courteous and understanding. However, when I asked about a system replacement, I was quoted $17000. Since there's no way I could afford that, I started looking at other companies, hoping to get a better price. Fast forward to the next day - I found another company. I had the owner come to my house, check things out and give me an estimate. He was able to quote me an entire new system replacement for $10,000. He then told me that he was going to add 3 pounds of refrigerant to my current system free of charge to get me through until I could get the new system installed. Currently my house is cooled back down to 75 degrees and I'm having a pleasant weekend.

I have a short term rental in Palm Desert and the other night my guest called me to tell me the A/C wasn't blowing at all. I called Paul Mitchell's Air Care (at 9pm by the way), and I was told they could have a tech there within 20 minutes! And, the after hours additional charge was reasonable as well. When the tech arrived, he was able to fix the issue immediately. From Bree in the office to all the techs, everyone here is top notch. I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. They're the best!!

With a pair of pliers, a screw driver and nut driver for tools, it took me (a very unskilled home owner), 20 minutes to open up the panel, photograph the part. Another 30 minutes to turn off the electric, remove three wires. Screw in a few screws. Assuming a technician could do it faster $288 for 30 minutes of labor. Look at You Tube, it's listed as a top AC scam.

I initially reached out to them for a routine maintenance on my 3 ton Carrier unit as well as my…read moresplit unit in the garage. Their reviews as well as overall ratings were what attracted me to use them as well as their experience with split units. My call was answered right away & I was able to get an appointment the next day. That went very smoothly & the technician was very professional & helpful. Unfortunately a while later my Carrier unit's fan motor started making noise. It was Easter weekend, but I called them to see if they could send someone to at least take a look at it. Chris the owner responded to my call & despite being with his family, said he'd be over later that day. When he arrived, he assessed the situation and explained to me that the previous repairs on the ac unit had replaced the fan motor with the wrong size motor for that unit. He took the time to educate me on why the motor was wrong & had resulted in damage to the fan. As a result, both the motor & the damaged fan would need to be replaced. He said he'd work on getting both a new fan and motor for the unit. Unfortunately there were non in stock from the local suppliers as well as LA. We're able to find the right motor & fan at an out of state supplier which was able to ship it UPS 3 day delivery. Parts came a day early, & Chris was there the next day to install both! He again showed me how the new motor & fan were not only the right ones for my unit, but also how it would be more energy efficient as well. Chris is a true professional who genuinely cares for his customers! I'd definitely recommend him to any of my friends in the future!

Before the tech could come out, the unit started working again, so I canceled. Kali, who I'd been in contact with, was super understanding and didn't make me feel bad at all. She even offered a discount for a future check-up--seriously great customer service! Fast forward to Labor Day weekend--of course, the A/C dies again, late at night. Thankfully, a storm rolled in and cooled things off just enough to sleep. I immediately reached back out to Kali the following morning, and she had a tech, Chris, at my place within a couple of hours. Chris was awesome--super professional, explained everything step by step, and even took photos to show me exactly what was going on. He found a few lingering issues that should've been addressed by a previous company. His quote was fair, and he gave helpful, budget-friendly recommendations without any pressure. Long story short: honest, responsive, and reliable. I'll definitely be calling Chris and Assured A/C for any future needs!
