I chose this place based on the good Yelp reviews and I must say they are deserving of all the stars. Though both service bays were occupied when I arrived, I was still in and out in under 20 minutes. Everyone I spoke to was courteous, professional, and efficient. Perhaps most importantly (at least to me), they did not try to upsell me on anything I didn't need (*ahem* Jiffy Lube). Though I wasn't planning on it, I got my state inspection done here too - always nice to kill two birds with one stone. I will be taking our other car here and leaving the corporate chain lube places behind, probably for good. read more

I came in for an oil change and an inspection and was really impressed by the quickness and efficiency the LPS team provided. During the inspection there were a few minor things that needed to be fixed. I was able to gain a clear understanding of what it was and luckily they had the parts in the shop at a very reasonable price. Cody was extremely helpful during this process and installed new wipers and a new rear break strip bulb for me. I'd be happy to recommend LPS to any of my friends and family! read more

I love these guys. I almost don't even feel like writing a review for this place, as the other positive reviews are pretty much right on. But, here's my experience. It was time to replace the oil in my car, and after procrastinating for as long as I could justify to myself, I found this place on Yelp and headed over. It was about 4 in the afternoon, and they were able to pull my car right in and being working on the oil change. After just a couple minutes, they came up and showed me the state of my air filter, and suggested that I change it at some point. They didn't at all pressure me to do it then, but it was pretty gross looking, so I ran next door to a parts place. Lube Pit Stop then installed the air filter for free; thanks, guys! Not long after that, my car was in top shape and ready to go. The oil change was quick and inexpensive, especially after the Yelp discount. As soon as my car needs another touch up, I'm going back to Lube Pit Stop. read more

That. Was. Amazing. I went in mid-morning on a weekday, so there wasn't a line, just a few other customers. But still, from the moment I pulled in to the moment I left, 13 minutes elapsed... maybe. And I watched them do each of the items listed on their "WE DO ALL THIS" board... they did ALL THE THINGS, and were super efficient about it. Every one of the workers seemed to be in a good mood, and they were very friendly to everyone there and each other. Chris was an especially amiable guy and suggested that I use different weight oil due to my mileage and the hot weather... thanks! Donny (also a pleasant fellow) even asked if I wanted him to check my air filter, as opposed to just doing it and then pressuring the up-sell. I've got to agree with other Yelpers on this one. I am so glad I found this place! I was 1,500 overdue on an oil change. I really didn't want to go to Jiffy Lube, but fortunately, I read these Yelp reviews and gave Lube Pit Stop a try. It's a small place (not corporate), that's friendly, clean, and professional. I called ahead to see if they were busy, and they just said, "we're open til 5pm." In other words, come on down. All the good stuff: --There was a garage bay available when I arrived. --They clearly explained my two oil change options. Basic oil change ($25) and the oil change+ ($30, oil, plus top of fluids, check tires, clean the windows, etc). I opted for the second choice, and was satisfied. --Professional courtesy. For example, they actually asked me if I had an oil preference for my car. (They didn't automatically assume that, as a woman, I know nothing about cars. Of course, I don't, but that doesn't matter.) --Polite, friendly small talk about my car. (Kudos: they did not insult Bettina the Wonder Corolla, who is now 13 years old. Rather, they complimented how "clean" she was under the hood!) --Discounts. Ladies Discount Thursdays ($5 off), "Mention You Saw Us On Yelp" discount ($5 off), and Return Customer discount ($2 off). --Quick. I was in and out in under 15 minutes. Excellent! Great guys, great customer service. Got two of my oil changes here so far. I always get synthetic. Tends to last longer. Two oil changes for an year and you should be good. Last time my check engine light was on, they checked it for free, it was nothing big and didn't charge me a penny. Never try to rip you off by trying to replace something that's not needed. I hate going to get an oil change for my car. I usually wait until I am at least 5,000 miles overdue to finally get to a Jiffy Lube or similar place because I hate it so much. I have no patience, and usually waiting for an oil change is like hell to me. Also, every time I go, I am told that I need something else serviced for my car. Usually, it is something I have never heard of, something I did not even know existed. I always feel pressured and then end up with a 100 dollar bill, even though I just wanted the standard oil change. The Lube Pit Stop is great. I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes, and no one tried to sell me anything else other than the oil change. And the price was reasonable at about 32 dollars after tax. The workers were friendly and efficient, and I will definitely go there from now on, any time I need an oil change. read more

I went here today. No wait, which was nice. Coming in from the North side of town was kind of annoying; the traffic just doesn't stop (so come from the south side). I went there for my lease's first auto change. While I didn't expect anything wrong with my car because it was so new, I did however expect a full inspection. They changed my oil quick.. too quick. I'm used to auto places showing me filters, showing me full inspection lists, that kind of thing. The whole process took 5 minutes, way too short a time for the work I expected to be done. The bill came to 50 bucks after asking me if I wanted synthetic oil for another 20. I'm not sure about the prices for an oil change in Austin but where I come from you'd never see an oil change above $20-25. The place absolutely reeked of BO. Would not go there again. read more

I went to Lube Pit Stop (yes, I lauged at the name because I'm eight) on a Monday evening after work. I went there after viewing the reviews on Yelp! See how I did this...I am proof this site works. I showed up at 5:18 with no appointment. First gold star: I was able to drive right up and pull into the garage. I got to drive my car myself, as well, which could be either a good thing or bad. The boys had me in and out in less than 20 minutes! They were so friendly and polite. One of the gentlemen (wish I remembered his name) even took out my air filter, showed me the dirt, dusted it off and told me I had "three or four more oil changes left" on the filter, which saves me money. I also have a VW and he doesn't carry this kind of filter, but he told me where I could pick one up for cheap, and if I wanted to bring VW filters into his shop, he'd replace em for me. He didn't try and upsell me, saying he'd have to order a special part or anything like that. Just a nice guy. They explained everything they were going to check. I also told him I was driving to Dallas for Thanksgiving the next week, so they checked all my belts and hoses, and coolant, to make sure I didn't blow up on the road. All this for your standard oil change price. It's right in line with other shops' pricing. All in all, this is a fast and friendly place to go. If you don't mind a waiting room wallpapered in deer carcass photos, this might be the place for you. Oh, and the bathroom was surprisingly clean for a garage. Found this place off yelp. I'm new to Austin and needed somewhere I could get into on my lunch break. Pulled in and was promptly helped with super friendly attitudes. Gave me a $55 quote for oil change on my 2015 vw Jetta, with taxes ended up at about $69, which is pretty average anywhere. Did the full oil change in about 30+ minutes and I was on my way! They checked my tire pressure and topped off all my fluids for no extra charge. Great guys, will definitely be back. read more

Best oil change experience I've ever had: at about 10 AM today (a Saturday), Lube Pit Stop took only about 15 minutes to complete their full basic oil and fluids service. This includes the few minutes wait to pull into the stall--simply speedy-speedy. Now I was very overdue for this oil change, by about three thousand miles and a couple months. I asked the attendant from the comfort of my car (yes, you can stay in your car) if there was anything special I should do at this point. I knew I was opening the door for a sales job for any litany of conjured services. The friendly attendant said a $70 flush (gulp) might be an option but he would have the technician check the old oil to see if it was needed. I heard him do exactly as he said he would, and a couple minutes later he came to my window and let me know that the old oil looked fine, but on the next oil change he recommended that I request a flush additive that would be only $8; I simply needed to let them know before they started any work because this cheaper option only works before the new oil is added. Lube Pit Stop provides an insanely quick, well-priced oil change with great customer service rather than the obnoxious upselling that many of their competitors rely on. These guys rock. read more

I've desperately needed to find a new place for my oil changes and general auto maintenance, so once again I turned to Yelp to guide the way. I came in during the rush on Saturday, so waited about 30 minutes total to have my oil changed. There was a car in front of me getting an inspection, which had just rolled up when I arrived. I don't mind waiting, though. I chilled out in the very small office, but it was comfortable enough. No complaints. I can see how this would be an issue if there were lots of people waiting, though. The staff was super nice. No upselling. The guy popped back in at one point to show me my (filthy) cabin filter compared to a new one and just asked if I wanted to change it. I went ahead with it, and appreciated that he didn't try to scold me on the essentials of a clean cabin filter. The oil change and filter was $50. My usual oil changes at Jiffy Lube are $65 without a new filter. Awesome! I will definitely start using these guys on the regular. Small bonus points in my opinion were: a type printed sticker for my windshield (no messy sharpie scrawl), clean and organized mini-folder with punch card to begin tracking my scheduled maintenance (no more messy yellow and pink service receipts shoved in my glove box), a level of simple politeness that is hard to come by no matter what industry or serviced used. read more

When we passed by our usual go-to oil change place, Jiffy Lube on Brodie Lane, I turned to my boyfriend and asked, "Where are you going? Jiffy Lube's right there, and there's only one car! No waiting!" "I want to try another place. It had good reviews on Yelp," he said. I smiled to myself, glad that my Yelp addiction is starting to rub off on him. Ten minutes later we ended up here. We opted to sit in the small air-conditioned office. One of the mechanics came in to make a phone call to a pizza place, asking about their deals on two medium and two large pizzas. He had barely hung up and left when he came back to tell us the oil change was done. And this was with only two cars ahead of us and with very little upselling involved. Quick tip I forgot to add: Watch your feet when getting out of your vehicle or you might fall into the pit like I almost did. A+ for the Yelp shout-out sticker on their office window. read more

I am a girl and when a girl walks into anything having to do with cats or maintenance we wonder if they will rip us off simply because we may not no as much as men do on car maintenance. I drove in just expecting to be sold..... nothing happened. I went in for an oil change they saw that my filter may need to be changed down the road. They washed my windows, reset my "oil change" light in my car. Took all the leaves out of the engine that gathered and that was it. I would say the whole process took 15 minutes. I went to this place last year for my inspection and had no issues. This year I pull up 10 mins before closing and a guy with a hat is carrying on in conversation. Doesn't even acknowledge I'm there. This was my first weird vibe. Then after the convo with the woman he tells me oh I just closed 12 mins ago. I'm like wth? So I go back the following Sat. Same guy with the hat unfortunately, takes my keys and drives a block. Doesn't tell me where he's going or what for. Returns with my car and says oh it's not going to pass. I'm like excuse me? Mind you I drive a Mercedes Benz never had any issues and I came here last year. He says my tint is too dark. Well why did you take my car for a joy ride? Clearly you saw the tint when I pulled up. I highly don't recommend going here if you're black and live in Austin. Sorry to say if that guy is working there he has some major issues. I've never had an inspection done so quickly before, especially with as many cars that were ahead of me in line. The guys here are friendly and efficient, and willing to work with you to help with anything that could be wrong. They also have a mechanic on site for minor fixes. Took my car here last month for an oil change. I'd taken it here on the previous oil change 3 months prior and had no issues. This time they told me that the oil drain plug wouldn't fit back in the hole so they had to use an oversized plug. They suggested I would need to maybe have the oil sucked out when I come back for subsequent oil changes and to let them know if I had problems with the plug but eventually I'd need a new oil pan. A few days later the oil is leaking in my garage so I brought it back. They tightened the plug and again reiterated that taking the plug in and out for oil changes is probably not a great idea. Took it to the dealership the next day. Oil isn't leaking but we will need a new oil pan b/c they can't make another factory plug and the threads are likely stripped so this new plug will have issues taking it in and out for oil changes. Called Lube Pitstop back and asked them to pay for this repair. Nothing was wrong with the drain plug before I took it there and they were the last ones to do an oil change. There has been no service on the car between them servicing it and we have never had any issues. They are refusing to pay for the needed repair. I think they stripped the threads and then charged us $10 for an oversized plug that is just a temporary solution to a much more expensive repair (oil pan change will be $300-500). I won't be taking my car here again. read more
