Ordered a vodka ckn Parmesan sandwich to go... when I got home I opened the sandwich and it just looked off the sauce was so light pink & watered down that it tasted like well...water, not only that but they give you extra sauce in a tiny to go cup and they literally put a spoonful into the tiny cup and I was able to slosh it around (just to make sure I wasn't seeing things & it was that watery...The sandwich came out fast..BUT had NO TASTE at all. My wife and I were just shopping nearby in Paramus. I saw Luca's was nearby and figured we should give it a try. After leaving the congestion and stress of the shopping Luca's feels like an oasis. Ample parking (much of it behind the building). We were greeted by a collection of pleasant staff members, as in everyone behind the counter was pleasant. The gentleman that helped us, patiently pointed out the customer favorites. It's a substantial menu of breakfast and lunch choices. I went with The Trejo, grilled chicken, pepper jack cheese, bacon, avocado, zesty mayo, and tomato on a semolina roll. My wife tried their chicken salad on a wrap. We both enjoyed our lunches. The sandwich I had was great. Tons of flavor and a good portion for the price. The semolina roll was heated up nicely and was perfect for the sandwich. The deli itself is clean and bright, with a lot of natural light and a good amount of seating. I look forward to returning the next time I'm in the area. read more

Was having a small get together with friends and decided to order a sandwich platter at Luca's. I had called the catering line and placed the order for small sandwich platter. I placed the order about 2 days prior and no issues with fulfilling the order with such a short lead time. I had arrived at Luca's and my order was ready on time. They provided me a side of Mayo and dressing. My guests enjoyed all the flavors of the sandwiches. It was variety of Turkey, Italian sub, roast beef, and eggplant. Tasted great and it was all packaged nicely in a container. I will def order catering again! read more

I stumbled onto this place by driving by it. It doesn't look appealing from the outside, but once I walked in I was taken back by the interior setup. The large cold case that included a wide variety of salads and items made me even more hungry. What caught my eye was the coconut shrimp that has just been cooked up, and was the special of the day. I decided to make a wrap with it and they added a sweet chili sauce that gave it a boost of flavor. I devoured it in less than a minute haha. This establishment is located in a small shopping center. What stood out the most to me, besides the great food items all over the place, was that little old lady behind the counter "mom". She is the chef and cook, but I'm not sure if she's the owner. You know when you see a lil old lady making the food it reminds of you some damn good homemade cooking. read more

Made a large sandwich order of 8 and the sandwiches were: 1. incorrectly labeled. 2. incorrectly assembled - had multiple items missing from each including vegetables and sauces. Ordered take out for dinner. Everything was so delicious and so fairly priced. I could not believe how much food we had! I ordered the Orrechette (so?) with sausage and broccoli rabe and I was eating it for 3 days!! So good !! Chicken francaise, Alfredo and sandwiches. All great! Online ordering system is the best way. No one answered the phones but I'm guessing it's because they are so busy. Meal was waiting for me at the exit door with receipt and in very sturdy containers and boxes. Note! And I wish I could say I'll be back especially since the food has always been good but I will not be back mostly because of the attitude of the people working there. *Pre COVID review* Discovered Luca's when I was staying at the Hyatt nearby. I was looking to have a quick sandwich and found this Deli newly opened. The interior was so inviting, modern and new. You don't see much delis look this good. Everything is displayed very neatly and are at ease with what is being put in your sandwich. I have ordered from Lucas on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and delicious and their presentation for catering orders is top-of-the-line. The owner, Tom, and his entire staff are extremely friendly, professional, and always willing to help with suggestions. Tom is very patient when a customer like me is not 100% sure what they want to serve to their guests and is always available to answer any questions you may have. The prices are more than fair and I don't think you can duplicate any of the catering items at home for much less than what they charge. The antipasto platter is a must have for any gathering. It's located in the middle of a mini mall that can get a bit crowded during peak hours, but the line moves quick and they are efficient. ***SANITATION ALERT*** I am nurse who walked in for lunch and observed a worker behind the deli fully gloved ready to serve someone- wipe the sides of his lips twice , one with each hand. He proceeded to leave his gloves on. I sure hope he removes them before making someone's sandwich. In addition, the woman who made my wrap, removed one glove to place it in a plastic container. I am VERY concerned about the sanitation of the deli.. my fiancé and I recently went and were given the wrong sandwich. Instead of asking for the whole order back to check which sandwich is the wrong sandwich, the cook came up to the car and asked us to open each sandwich. Once my fiancé physically touched the wrong sandwich the cook STILL asked for it back until my fiancé said he'll just keep it when the cook offered to redo the sandwich. 40 or more minutes to get a sandwich. The prices are average to high. The food is good if you have time to waste waiting forever to get it. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out on prime breakfast or lunch times, it will take you at least 40 minutes or more. This was the case on a number of visits. I don't like pre-ordering for two reasons. It either winds up sitting to be picked up getting cold or you get there and its still not ready. So, like many I like to order in person. First, there are no signs or obvious ordering areas and it gets crowded. A number of times I talked with confused customers not knowing where to stand to place an order. As for the men behind the counter, they need either to double the staff or get rid of the existing people. The men they have move slower than snails, their hands almost in slow motion regardless of how busy it is. I also love how they just stare at the customers as they move like snails. Thus the crazy wait for a sandwich. You are a deli where things should be lightning fast. Go look at how other people move in REAL delis. Never going back. read more

Went here with a group of coworkers for the first time, totally underwhelming deli, not by options or looks, but quality and service. This place was mobbed for lunch so I had high hopes, but I wouldn't go there again. I ordered a number 4 (vesuvius) on the list of sandwiches, not like the last one, but 4. The guy said okay and went off, then comes back and says how do I want it. There's like 4 ingredients including the bread. He says he's never made that for anyone, mind you this is sandwich 7 on the list. So Im laughing but always smacking my head like I wanted into the italian deli twilight zone. Needless to the say, the sandwich sucked, and I'm out $9. I should have gotten something easier like soup when he asked how I wanted it. And I did see him throw my sandwich in the microwave to heat it up after I said I want the bread toasted. There's a few tables on the side of the restaurant to sit and eat, otherwise bring it to your car or back to the office. Sorry to say this but avoid the delivery option here. I ordered several sandwiches which I paid for via credit card on line. My order was delivered but was incomplete. I contacted them and they apologized and said they would take care of it with a refund. Never got the refund or any further response. I also notices that even if you specify something specific on line, like a particular brand of chips, they will substitute something else without checking first. Very disappointing. I could go on forever about this place, because it is THAT good, but I'm going to keep it as short as I can! Everything I've ordered from Luca's has been plentiful, fresh, and superb. Their subs and sandwiches are piled a mile high with meat, the bread is fresh, and they're only $7.50! My favorite sandwich, that I keep going back for, is called The Big Hug. Loads of fresh, rare roast beef, perfectly caramelized onions, horseradish mayo, and cheddar cheese on garlic bread. If that doesn't make you want to run there, I don't know what will! Another favorite is The Trejo, which is grilled chicken breast (sometimes I get sliced turkey breast instead of the chicken), avocado, pepper jack cheese, bacon, tomato and sweet chili mayo, and the ruby red corned beef sandwich is perfection. I am so ecstatic that my friend introduced me to this Italian deli. This place is fantastic! The staff (Peggy, Armand and Ryan) all work like a well oiled and maintained machine, but at the same time they're very friendly and jovial. I ordered to eat in a chicken parmesan, they have 3 sizes on their menu (small, medium & large), I got the medium. Holy only! This thing is the size of my head, it's immense. As soon I took a bite of this humongous sandwich I slipped into food heaven. They didn't skimp on chicken nor cheese nor sauce. The Linguine with White Clam Sauce is for my wife, and if that sandwich is any indication of how delicious it will be, we'll, I can't wait to get home and I can have a taste.
