We went to this restaurant for dinner as a group of six. The place feels a bit more on the fancy side compared to regular spots, but the prices are actually really good. I had the pasta Carbonara, and it tasted great -- big portion, fresh, and the complimentary bread was delicious. My boyfriend got the pasta Bolognese with a side of meatballs. He was a little disappointed that his pasta didn't have much sauce, and he said the meatballs were just okay. Most of our friends really liked their food though. The service was nice -- not the type that comes by every five minutes, but also not slow. We didn't have to wait long for water or anything else. The atmosphere was super cool too, with lots of wine bottle decorations and some calm opera-style music playing in the background. Overall, it's a pretty decent place -- good food, fair prices, and a cozy vibe.

Risotto de la casa - sooooo good!

Reservation for 4 on a Saturday night which they honored (NICE!). A bread basket and waters were brought to the table soon after we were seated. Two types of bread - both delish. For my entree, I went with the pasta special - a linguini dish with lots of seafood in a cream sauce ($35). I asked to have a very light touch on the sauce which they did perfectly. The dish was fabulous (and huge - lots of leftovers to take home. My wife got the halibut ($45). It came with a side of veggies and a small portion of pasta. It was only OK at best. My buddy got the chicken Marsala. While the Marsala sauce was quite good, the meal was just OK at best. Based on our experience last time we were here (when both pasta dishes were exceptional) and this time, I will return but stick to ordering from the pasta portion of the menu

This was my first time visiting Lucerne and what a wonderful experience it was. I met a friend for dinner and the ambience was perfect. I ordered the Capellini Lucerne and it was so delicious. They serve the most delicious home made bread made by the mother of the family with a hint of garlic. Some of the rolls are heart shaped. love! Everyone at restaurant is so attentive. The owner is constantly circling the restaurant and visiting with guests. After eating bread and chatting I wasn't that hungry so got a to go box. I ate this for dinner. Cold. So not me eating leftovers or eating them cold. It was one of the best leftovers I've ever had. The flavors were elevated even more. Yum. What a beautiful family owned local restaurant. Highly recommend.

We've been here twice already and so far its been consistent. I'm pretty simple and ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and we decided to order a bottle of wine for Valentine's day. While my significant other like to try other things. No issues with the food and a more authentic taste. We love the atmosphere and heavy decorated with wine bottles. Not only the wine bottles are decor they are real bottles used to serve customers. The only thing I would suggest is they update their reservation system. It was a little confusing because I booked on their website for Valentine'a day and booked a 6pm with an email confirmation. Mind you, I've only been here twice and did not know they don't take reservations for such occasions. But anywho, it worked out and we ended up getting a bigger table. It made the experience especially on Valentine's day even better. Aside from the reservation situation, overall best Italian restaurant in the county (so far).

I love their newly renovated new location! Still in the same shopping center but better! I love the professional family element they have going on here . The interior and table seatings are so sleek yet inviting . So happy they brought over their wine rack display and also added more. We ordered: Complimentary bread is a must ! Penne Alla Pana was recommended by Manny and he did not disappoint! I was craving something that was light but had all the good things and this was perfect. Capers was a great touch. 5/5 Fettuccine Alfredo (with no added protein) was simple yet flavorful. The perfect comfort food when wanting something nostalgic. 5/5 Caesar salad looked basic but it wasn't. It was one of the best I've had. 5/5 Cappuccino was so pretty! My friend ordered it and she said it was good . So I gotta take her word for it ! Crème Brûlée was good but I wish it came with fruits on the side. 4/5

First time visiting their new location in the same shopping center on Arneill I've always had a great meal at Lucerne, it's probably the most under mentioned places to eat at in Camarillo but is a really great dining experience with tasty Italian food. Each meal comes with a complimentary bread basket and butter, they have daily specials which always sound tasty, and everything on their menu I've had has tasted really good. It was chilly so I opted to to try their soup of the day which was a pink chowder. Really clean and warming soup, it was a great choice. My wife was craving garlic bread and it comes with 6 pieces, perfect for sharing and has such a great garlic flavor. Perfect for dipping into sauces. Their eggplant parmigiana is perfectly cooked and filling! And their Alfredo pasta was so cheesy and yummy! It's a nice pairing and you can ask for parmesan cheese on top. We finished with their creme brulee. I definitely recommend leaving room for dessert they have a small selection but everything is good and reasonably priced. The new location has a lot more space and tables and the interior definitely is brighter. Service is always very attentive and top notch. Can't remember if they had this in the past but you can now pay your bill via QR code and a payment portal which is helpful for those using apple pay or Gpay. Seriously one of the best places to eat at in Camarillo.

So so good! Came here with my husband for date night. We happen to just make a last minute decision to find Italian. Service was very good. We came in on a Thursday and it was not busy. But the waiter came in and checked on us as appropriate. Water filled, asked about food etc. feels like a family owned business. Food was delicious. Really enjoyed every bite we had. Lobster linguine was a special that night and was our favorite item. The sauce is so creamy and they give you a decent amount of protein. The chicken Parmesan was good too! The veggies were cooked well. The best part was the penne pasta. So simple yet again sauce is so rich and delicious. We did have the buffalo mozzarella and it did not disappoint. Again their sauces are perfection. Ended the night with their crème brûlée and you guessed right! It was fantastic. Good portion to share as well. One of the biggest portions we've had. Love the vibe too. It felt romantic and place looks so clean. Love the decor all over with thr wine bottles. We will be coming back! Next time maybe do some wine tasting as well

One of my favorite Italian spots in Ventura County! They have great service and reasonable prices. Been coming here for years and now they have a new space. Although the new space is more open and obviously updated I do miss the darker vibe of the old place. That's just more my preference for softer lighting as the lights in the new space are fairly bright. Overall this is a good date night spot or just come because the food is good. Onto the food. We started with some very delicious garlic bread with actual garlic. For a main I ordered the cannelloni with a Caesar salad. My husband got the eggplant parmesan. Everything was flavorful and generously sauced. I decided to get creme brulee for dessert. It was good and they did not burn the topping which is always a good sign. Portions were a good size and we left very full. Also, their wine selection is great. They have so many options and I'm never disappointed.

The table was beautifully dressed, a fantastic time was had by all.

When I opened the door to what I thought was the restaurant, I wasn't sure until I looked around inside. Now that I found the place, on to the food! Combo Sandwich Best of both worlds, Italian sausage topped with Italian beef. I added hot peppers to mine and this was one amazing sandwich! The flavor from the sausage and the beef combined, and individually, was awesome. I loved every bite of it and can't say enough about the flavors. The bread was hearty enough to hold it all, yet still soft and chewy. I really liked that. Chili Cheese Fries When these arrived at my table, they weren't presented how I was expecting them. I'm used to chili cheese fries served with the chili and cheese on top of the fries. No utensils were served with these, so I ate them as I thought they were intended...as a dipping dish... The fries.. well, I wouldn't go out of my way to get them.. They were served somewhat lukewarm, borderline cold. Shoestring fries that were very limp and not crisp. Now, to the best part of this item. The chili. The chili tasted outstanding! I really loved the flavor and it had a nice meaty consistency. The cheese sauce was unique and was really good as well. This wasn't your typical nacho cheese sauce. It had a different, slightly elevated, flavor profile that I couldn't place. Overall, some really good food here sans the fries. Great beef, sausage and chili. I would definitely come back for some more of the deliciousness!

I wasn't expecting a restaurant to be so full on a Tuesday night, but when you're as good as Ottavio's you develop a loyal following of locals who enjoy their time here. Many celebrations were obviously being had in just our little portion of the restaurant. There are multiple rooms, accommodating various sized parties, and the hot, delicious Italian faire just kept coming. Fresh, warm bread was delivered with our water and we dove into that doughy deliciousness strait away. Hubs went with a 50/50 plate of spaghetti and cheese ravioli with a meat sauce and added meatballs. I snuck a bite of the meatballs and they were very good, as was the sauce. I opted for the Tortellini Silvana, which was described as cheese tortellini w/sauteed chicken, fresh spinach, basil and sun dried tomato cream sauce. It was FABulous! Light and delicate sauce with full flavor. A generous portion, I took about 1/2 home! Our entrees each came with a choice of soup or salad. Hubs chose Italian Wedding and I went with Minestrone. (Side note: I knew well and good I would be having 2 soups, so I wanted to try both. ;-D) Both were made from scratch and delicious! I was impressed with how fluid the staff worked along side one another. Drinks then food then boxing and the check and - voila! - table turned and on to the next group, all while maintaining a welcoming and pleasurable attitude and friendly service. Mother's Day Was Ruined. And I Need the Owner to Know…read more Let me tell you something. I've worked in five-diamond restaurants. I've worked Applebee's got the pin to prove it. Fried chicken spots. Everything in between. So when I tell you what happened here, know that I'm not some customer who doesn't understand how restaurants work. I know exactly how they work. My best friend lives in Camarillo and honey, he has been raving about this place for months. Every time someone comes to visit, he brings them here. He made our Mother's Day reservations well in advance. Our party of six. This man has easily dropped thousands of dollars in this restaurant. He loves this place. Loved. We arrived early. Server was ok. Seated us at 11, full house, two-hour window we understood the assignment. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Everything came out hot and fast. We're laughing, talking, having the best time and then I look down at my plate. There is a bug. Crawling. Through my eggs. My son grabbed his phone and got the picture. My husband God bless him, shot up to find a manager because that's what you do. That's what any reasonable person does. He found her. Her name is Cheryl. And Cheryl said... "You should've taken it up with the server." Strike one. Then she walks over to our table with an attitude and before I can even hand her my plate, she looks at me and says, "How do you want your eggs?" Like I'm supposed to take the same food back. The food with the bug in it. I was stunned. Not just by the question by the energy. It was off putting. She was annoyed. Like somehow WE were the problem. My kids were horrified. My best friend, the man who loves this restaurant was completely embarrassed. I asked to look at the menu. I wanted something different. Reasonable, right? We waited. The server came back, completely in the dark, said something like "I guess something was wrong with your food?" Sweet kid. Felt terrible when we filled him in. I said I'd just take a burger. He said of course they'd remove the chicken and waffles. THEN he came back. "We're going to have to charge you for the burger." WTH, I thought he had lost his entire mind. He disappeared again, came back, apologized I believe he genuinely felt bad. This has happened before when I have been a server and a manager is more than happy to offer you another dish and take off the other one. But Cheryl? The manager? Never came back. NOT once. Instead, she made her rounds to every single table AROUND us. Laughing. Greeting people. Interacting with guests. For 15 to 20 minutes, we sat there and watched her deliberately avoid our table. And that's when it hit me the thing I didn't want to think. I looked around. Really looked around. And we were the only ones. WELL, I was the only one who was African American woman. Me and my kids. My bestie and my hubby are of European descent. I don't SAY that lightly. Honestly? It makes me sick to even say it. But I couldn't find another explanation. Neither could my friend, who sat straight up in his chair and saw it too up close and personal. He was angry. I had to calm everyone down and say this wasn't worth it. I canceled the burger. We left. It was the worst Mother's Day I have ever had in my life. I have never been treated like this before. It's 2026. People have diverse families. What happened?! To the owner -- I'm hoping you're not her, and I'm hoping you read this. Your friend lost a loyal customer who brought everyone he knew through your doors. You lost our table, our money, and our trust the moment Cheryl decided we didn't matter. The moment she decided that she couldn't be bothered. I travel all around the world speaking, training and I have never been treated to poorly. I called hoping to speak to the OWNER. Cheryl called me back. Are you for real? She HAD a chance to make it right. But clearly she didn't care. She had every opportunity to make it right. She chose not to.
