My husband and I took some friends here for dinner. We were seated quickly (no reservations) and ordered some cocktails. We started with the fried mozzarella and arancini. The table really enjoyed them. I am not a pasta fan myself so I had the salmon picatta and mushroom risotto. The risotto was a bit salty but everything else was very good. Our server Tess did a fantastic job once she was aware that we were her customers. She took great care of us. The food was fresh, flavorful and great. However, when we first arrived and were seated, it was apparent that no one knew we needed water or to be served. Meanwhile four servers/greeters at the front desk were oblivious to us and were clearly joking around, sharing videos on their phones, two of them had their backs to the entry door and generally not paying attention. Once I got up and talked to the bartender, Tess (not one of the four in front) came and took great care of us the rest of the evening. read more

We ordered takeout family meals (and some catered extras) for our Mother's Day lunch this year. Food was ready when requested & staff was helpful bringing it out to my car. They are closed on Sunday so I picked up on Saturday & reheated everything the next morning which worked out fine. Everyone loved the food - lasagna, chicken parmesan, chicken piccata, meatballs, nice house salad, & tasty focaccia. Marinara was tasty, chicken was tender, meatballs were perfectly spicy. Kids (and great-grandmother) enjoyed the meatballs especially. Only issues were the olive tapenade for the bread was super sparse considering the meals were supposed to serve 4-6 & 6+ (we got about 2 tablespoons of tapenade in teeny cups) and as a personal preference I'd rather have spaghetti over penne with the chicken parm, but maybe penne travels better. It would also be nice to get a pasta side with the piccata for the price - we cooked our own. Overall, food was good, moms (and families) were happy so it was a good choice. Will definitely try eating at the restaurant when we need an Italian fix. read more

The service here was wonderful! Unfortunately the food does not match. It took quite a while for our orders to come out even though there was only 1 other table dining in at the time. The food was fresh but it was very bland. The marinara sauce tasted jarred and was so sparse I felt like it was being rationed. They supply dried parmesan in a shaker on the table but at authentic Italian restaurants I expect freshly grated to be offered. The best thing we had was the cimplimentary foccacia bread and olive tapenade. The experience was highly underwhelming. Im surprised this place has managed to stay open for so long. read more

I was there yesterday for dinner. Our waitress was a little disorganized and kept showing up to our table with things that were not ours. After we finished our meal and were lingering over our wine, she came back to get a dirty glass and told us she wanted everything because she was ready to get out of there. There was no line of people and the place was not remotely close to closing. She also managed to charge my credit card twice so I guess I will make to make a trip to straighten this out. read more

Back in the day, Lucia's was the premier Italian restaurant in the area. In fact, their walnut pear salad was written up in the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Now, well.... their glory days are over. The restaurant is okay, just not stand out. I am however glad that they sustained business during the pandemic and as evidenced tonight, they have loyal patronage. The signature salad is fine, if nothing special. I do like the dressing. Calamari is rubbery. Chicken picata was eh. Three people in my party ordered it; we all had the same opinion. Rather than pasta I chose spinach as a side; that's an excellent option, sauteed in garlic and olive oil. Having had a cannoli last week in Acworth, I made a head-to-head comparison. The winner is .... Acworth! The filling in Lucia's doesn't strike me as authentic. Would I come back? Sure. The restaurant is ten minutes from home. Would I say, "wow! Nice place, good service, but what little food I had was forgettable. The good: nice ambiance and the bartender was nice and helpful. Wine was fresh and cold. The ok: got the goat cheese marinara. The focaccia was nice but would have preferred a crusty bread. The marinara was not great. It lacked the balance I was hoping for. There was a hint of heat but no freshness or sweetness on the other side of the scale. I wouldn't order again. When the simple dishes are not great, it makes you wonder about the rest. We don't live out this way so prob not rushing to return regardless of the 4 stars. read more

Anyone giving this place a five-star review is probably a relative or an employee. Nothing about this restaurant meets a five-star standard. The decor feels cold and uninspired, and the food is both bland and severely overpriced for what you get. Take the chicken piccata, for instance--$22 for a plain piece of chicken with a dull sauce and just one side, no pasta included. Seriously, who serves piccata without pasta? The service was acceptable, however I honestly don't understand how this place is still in business. read more

We had dinner at Lucia's the other night, food was good though not spectacular. We thought the lasagna at $24. was pricey and should have been more like $18 for the portion size. If you are in need of a substantial meal but don't want to cook, I recommend Lucia's Italian Restaurant. Located in Sandy Plains Village - we went to eat here once (before COVID) and loved it. Simple atmosphere but ample room, considerate of a family of four (two younger kids), and friendly staff. So we decided that we were tired of Pizza and Barbecue and wanted to try some place new. Instead of Door Dash or Uber Eats, we decided to do pick up... The Family Sized Menu states it's enough to feed 4 to 6 adults. We had 4 adults and 2 little ones, so we opted for the family size meal to go. The Aegean Pasta is a penne pasta with Mediterranean toppings and a pesto base sauce. It comes with a large salad and focaccia bread for like 8 adults. For $50 +tax this was WORTH THE MONEY. We also got mozzerella "sticks" appetizer. It was $15ish which my MIL thought was expensive but opening the app, the size of the 10 mozzerella triangles was well worth the price. So...I recommend. Might even be good for a care dinner - if you know someone that just needs a pick me up dinner sent so they don't have to think about dinner. We're all tired of thinking about dinner. HAH! read more

I was absolutely craving Italian food, but I rarely go out for it and really just wanted to find a place on my way home from work that could give me a great curbside delivery with quality food. If those are your parameters, then look no farther! Upon recommendation from a friend, I ordered the focaccia bread, and then some chicken parmigiana (what I had been craving), with the penne Bolognese as my chosen side. The focaccia bread was truly worth it, as recommended. Two huge chunks of it that were so warm and perfectly prepared that I couldn't help but eat a little on my way home. The serving of chicken parmigiana was also plentiful, as was my side of Bolognese. It ended up making two great meals instead of just one. I also ordered a side salad with walnuts and pears, which was also wonderfully prepared. Ordering over the phone was really easy; I didn't exactly have the menu in front of me as I was driving, but the woman who took my order was extremely nice and helped me through all of my options. As soon as I pulled up, I just parked in one of the stalls for pick up, dialed the number on the sign, and they brought my food straight out. Dined here for the first time in nearly 10 years. Lucia"s used to be a favorite but has fallen in the past few years. Wife and i both had chicken dishes. We had the chicken piccata and chicken saltimbocca. Both were overcooked and a bit chewy. The flavor was okay for the piccata but the saltimbocca was inedible. This dish is best with prosciutto, here they used ham. Was not salty enough and was a fail with the barely melted mozzarella? (Poor choice of cheese). The Cesar salad barely had any dressing but was otherwise okay. Please avoid the Alfredo sauce if you do decide to eat here. Gloopy and overly sweet. Maybe a bad night, but the atmosphere is not warm or inviting. Feels like they stripped the floors clean and stuck some random tables around with little thought to making the dining experience anything more than functional. Not going back. Ruined some happy memories. read more

We're newish to the area and hoping to find a great, locally owned Italian restaurant nearby. The appetizers were great (spinach & artichoke dip and calamari) so we were looking forward to our main course but were disappointed. The bread was also delicious! People in our party ordered pizza, fettuccini Alfredo with chicken, Chicken Piccata, and one other pasta I can't remember. All were lacking flavor and just kinda not worth the calories. If we're gonna eat Italian food, we like for it to be worth it I might be a little tough because my husband is Italian, and we've spent a lot of time there. I like a good Chicken Parmesan and other Americanized Italian spots/dishes as much as most people, but we will be looking for another local Italian spot. read more

This place shocked me. It is In a good area and they could surely raise the bar. It is stark in decor, loud (especially the bartender), it felt soulless. It was so chilly & cold in the dining room. No table touches from management. No management to be seen. We did totally love Robin, the server. She is the tops. The food being good would have covered a multitude of turn offs. Calamari app was so chewy I almost choked. The entrees were lacking in the taste. It was just disappointing. I can't believe it. This compared to Storico Fresco for example is no where close. If you love good food go elsewhere. It's a neglected miss of a place. I wish them well in rethinking it all. We will head south for better. read more

We live close to Lucia's and tried it out before a movie on a Saturday night. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but we didn't feel cramped. I had penne with the red sauce and shrimp. I loved the red sauce- a little spicy with so much flavor. My husband had the fish with a side of spinach, and he enjoyed both. The menu had several options that we look forward to trying on another visit. We'll be back! read more

My family has been a big fan of this spot since it opened many years ago. The service is always good since it's a small spot without too many tables- you won't get left in a corner waiting to order for an hour. The staff is friendly and helpful if you have questions. I always start with the pear & walnut salad which is truly my favorite salad ever- do not pass on it. Although they don't have a ton of gluten free options, they do have a build your own pasta side with gluten free penne and Bolognese. Their steamed garlic broccoli is also amazing. How I wish their alfredo was gluten free. I remember eating it as a kid and it was the best. My boyfriend did order the alfredo with grilled chicken (a good portion) but hesitated since it's one of those things that a few bites in just gets kind of old. We stopped by on the middle of a Saturday afternoon to give this place a shot, from the outside and the atmosphere it seemed great and we grew exited to try it. We had to hand for a table, which was okay because a table happened to cancel their reservation and gave us access to seating much sooner than anticipated. The guy who was the host was friendly and helped us get set up, but then everything started to go down hill from there. We got sat and were greeted pretty shortly and got our drink order taken, drinks came, no silverware, no bread, we ordered a salad and appetizer, appetizer came and we ate it, no bread, still no silverware. The salad came and our server walked past us a couple of times and we asked for silverware twice, about 10 minutes later we were finally able to eat the salad after a third time telling her to get us silverware. Bread finally came around this point too ! Then the wait proceeded, we had been at our table for a total of around 40 minutes now, order has been in for 20ish, appetizer has been already gone, salad gone. We received the occasional "just a few more minutes on the food" a couple of times, Restaurant is looking pretty empty now, so no reason why 3 simple entrees should be taking so long. Over a hour later, food finally came, but at this point out appetite was already long gone, took a few bites of the food, not too fond of the Alfredo but other stuff seemed decent. Would have loved to been able give this place a fair shot but the service and staff wasn't really there to meet our expectations of this place. We had a couple of different people come to our table to bring us things instead of our own server including who we believe to be the manager. Overall, I'm sure the food could be good, but service and management definitely needs some work. read more

This was our second venture out post-apocalypse.....uhhhhh I mean post pandemic. We got take out here and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it. The food itself I'd describe as Italian comfort food. Everything on the menu should be recognizable to anyone who eats here. It's standard Italian fare done really well. Some people might think the food is basic, but think about it, if you met someone from Italy and was going over their grandmother's house, would you want some fancy pantsy agnolotti di oxo drizzeled with burro sauce or do you want the best old school authentic Italian eggplant parmesan homemade from scratch you've ever had? I'd expect and want the latter! Same here, perhaps not the best I've ever had or completely homemade, but they do the simple things very well. I got a greek salad and lasagna. My wife got a walnut and pear salad and the Agean pasta. I loved my greek salad. Two things I don't like with a salad is an overwhelming amount of lettuce and an underwhelming amount of dressing. They were generous with the nonlettuce ingredients and dressing. We also learned that not all side salads here are made the same. I would consider my wifes pear and walnut to be a typical side salad size but my greek seemed to be over twice as big. I'd say it could serve as an entree and I wasn't mad about it. My lasagna was an excellent portion and had lots of sauce! Good ratio of the noodles to cheese to sauce. A little light on meat in the sauce but who can complain when each bite was delicious. I really loved tasting my wife's Agean pasta. It had so much going on. It included feta cheese, chicken, mushroom, sundried tomato, artichoke heart, spinach, kalamata olive, pesto. There were plenty of all of those so each bite was so flavorful. Every employee here was very nice as well. I was very appreciative that when my wife made several changes to her part of the order they completely rolled with it and get everything correct on the order. Employees were great that we dealt with on the pickup. I can't wait to go back and actually dine in. read more

The aroma of the restaurant was fantastic driving in. Their bread was also unbelievable. Unfortunately that's where it ends. The fried ravioli was not crisp but was instead soggy. My husband got the broccoli pasta which was not good at all and overpowered by broccoli. The Francese chicken was decently cooked but the Alfredo was not good at all. It had a weird flavor and did not taste remotely like Alfredo. I had such high hopes for this restaurant but it unfortunately fell short. I will not be returning and do not recommend. read more

Special house guest and we enjoyed dinner Saturday night. Perfect! Attentive service, visited with the Owner. We three all had Caesar salad, one of the best around; even have anchovies if you want them. Three different entrees: the best eggplant she ever had; salmon and string potatoes really great; scallops were terrific as well. Wine selection acceptable, a bit timid, but very good. They are doing their very best given all the restrictions and doing a great drive up business, too. A true neighborhood gem. Another great brunch experience. Great selection of Italian favorites, plus yummy brunch choices, the skillet and Benedict are both terrific. Service a real plus, young but caring.
