This was our first time visiting Grana at the Southern Post center near downtown Roswell, and we had a great experience. Once inside, it's impressive how big the dining area and the patio actually are. They have a large table the length of the bar that is perfect for large groups. We sat in one of the smaller dining areas right near the lobby. Dasia our server was amazing. She provided great recommendations and gave us the opportunity to try the garlic bread as first time diners. I tried the Baked Lumache based upon Dasia's suggestion. It was really the perfect dish combing the meatballs with cheesy baked pasta. My family tried the Eggplant Parmigiana and agreed that it was one of the best. So, if you are looking for an upscale Italian dining experience in the Roswell area, you definitely need to try Grana. Unbelievably poor service. We ordered a pizza and a pasta. The pasta arrived after about 20 minutes, but the pizza never showed up -- even after 45 minutes. Despite multiple inquiries, there was very little acknowledgment or urgency regarding the delay. Eventually, after repeatedly asking to speak with someone, the manager came over. After explaining the situation and mentioning that I had never experienced service like this before, his response was: "There's always a first for everything." Grana was good on all levels. The food was good, and the pasta tasted fresh. The service has been good each time we've visited, which has been about three or four times now. They have been very consistent, and that's one of the reasons we've returned. The atmosphere is very nice... comfortable, modern, and Italian-inspired. It feels bright, but still warm and inviting. We have been to another grana location but this one is great! It is located on the second level overlooking a cute area of Roswell. The outdoor patio is huuuge! The inside is just as big with bar seating, booths as well as tables. The service was great, everyone we met was friendly, and they were also really great with our little one. The food was the best part though.. I get why they call themselves the "garlic bread mafia" it is to die for! We had a large group and we came for wine Wednesday. We were able to enjoy the lovely fall weather on the patio. I love our server- she was so attentive and took care of us! We ordered many bottles of wine and apps to share! All the wines we got was nice and even better at 50%! My favorite app is the burrata toast! But the Brussels, meatball sampler were all good. I got the Diavola pizza and love the firewood grill style with lovely chewy crust and just enough spice and cheese. Everything was fabulous! The parking is easy in the deck! Just make sure you pay and park on the second level- where the entrance to Grana is! I will be back for another wine Wednesday and happy hour! read more

We went on a fairly quiet Sunday evening with a reservation and were seated immediately on the rooftop patio. The patio is perfect for when the weather is more mild, but it is uncovered so likely not the best choice for a hot summer day. For an appetizer, we ordered the fried mozzarella ($15), which came quickly. This was good, not particularly a standout but consistent as far as fried mozzarella goes. My husband got the eggplant Parmesan ($18) and I got the paccheri genovese ($28), which is a pasta with short rib. It is not noted on the menu that the eggplant Parmesan does not include pasta, so I do think that should ideally be mentioned. For dessert we got the make your own cannoli, which is a fun idea and creates a memorable experience. We weren't blown away by the food but everything was consistently good, and I would love to return to try the meatballs and pizza next. read more

One of my favorite restaurant, came to this location for the first time for a birthday dinner with a large group. We started with the meatball and garlic bread which never disappoint. Would recommend splitting entrees so that you get to try more because everything is SO GOOD. Most recently got the figgy pizza and rigatoni both were so good. We had such a great dinner at Grana! We started with the meatball flight and calamari, and both were awesome. The portions were perfect for sharing with our group of five, and every meatball had its own flavor and personality, all of them were so good. We ordered two pizzas, the Figgy and the Diavola. Both had amazing flavor, but the Figgy totally surprised me, I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, and it ended up being my favorite of the night. For my entrée, I got the rigatoni, and honestly, it's one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had at a restaurant. Everything tasted super fresh and made with care. The only thing that stood out was how long it took for things to come out, it was pretty slow (over 50 minute wait) even though there weren't many tables (probably less than 5 tables seated), but once the food arrived, it was totally worth it. They do validate parking for up to two hours, you'll want to put in your parking once we get inside the restaurant, they'll have the code at the check in desk. The deck is super easy to get to and the restaurant is connected to it. Overall, the food was incredible, the vibe was relaxed, and I'll definitely be back to try more! read more

Service was great contradictory to what many have said. I found it a little disconcerting that there were children running everywhere completely unattended by their parents. I don't understand bringing toddlers to what is supposed to be an upscale restaurant. Brussel sprouts were the best thing we ordered. Meatball flight was good as well. However, my chicken parm entree was too salty and the side of pasta (it doesn't come with it) was basically inedible. My fiancé ordered the short rib pasta bc so many had raved about it on yelp. It had a weird flavor that wasn't bad but it wasn't enjoyable. If you're going to spend this kind of money, go to Maggiano's. read more

Even though Italian is not one of my usual top choices for dining out, Grana has been on my bookmarks since I saw multiple people recommending it on my social media feeds. Hubby and I decided to try it out for our anniversary yesterday and luckily, it lived up to the hype. Since we parked in the spaces just outside the parking garage, it was tricky to figure out how to get to the restaurant. It actually took a good 15 minutes of wandering around the halls in the apartment building next to it before one of the tenants finally led us in the right direction. If we had parked on the second floor of the parking garage instead, it likely would have been much easier to find. We are typically early birds so once we finally got there, we had the whole place to ourselves. We were seated right away and our server Sam introduced herself and took our drink orders. She asked if we were celebrating anything special and wished us a happy anniversary when we shared the news with her. Sam gave us truly phenomenal service. From her friendly demeanor to useful suggestions about menu items and even going out of her way to pack an extra hot honey sauce for my leftovers because I mentioned how good it was, she provided some of the best service we have had so far in all our Roswell dining outings since we moved. We will likely request her table when we return because service like hers will be tough to beat. I was thrilled that they have Peroni, which I hadn't had in a while and rarely see on the menu, so I had a couple glasses of that and hubby had some red wine. We ordered the fried mozzarella to start, which was decent though maybe a bit undercooked. I may have been disappointed with the starter if it had not been for the fact that Sam brought us the unexpected surprise of a meatball flight that the kitchen had cooked accidentally. This was a happy accident for us because the meatball flight was amazing and totally made up for the undercooked mozzarella. For our mains, I ordered the Roni pizza with light sauce and hot honey sauce on the side and hubby ordered the Margherita pizza. I am glad that Sam suggested I order the hot honey sauce on the side because it gave me control over how much sauce was on each bit, which made it perfect. The pizza was easily the best I have had in Roswell. I loved the hot honey sauce too, especially dipping the crust into it. We rounded off dinner with a delicious slice of tiramisu and were happily surprised when Sam delivered it along with two shots of limoncello and a Happy Anniversary card signed by the staff. It was such a thoughtful touch and we really appreciated it. Our anniversary celebration was fantastic and I am so glad we chose to take a chance on a new place with it because it certainly exceeded our expectations. Delicious food with quality service is always a winning combination and that is precisely what we enjoyed at Grana. Last night we went to Grana for my Birthday with the recommendation from my daughter. Party of 10 inc. 4 kids - 5 and under. The welcome host Nick made sure my husband and I were escorted to the table where our little gang was all seated. Our server Tania was very efficient taking orders and making sure all of us had everything we needed. The special drink Sicilian martini was addicting! All the kiddies received their food first which was great to keep them happy. The adult dinners came out as they were ready so if you do not like that you better tell the waitstaff. (Mine was last ) Ok now for the food! Of course all the reviews include the meatballs! YES order them! I had the Ditalini seafood dish was very delicious flavor. All the dishes were getting rave reviews from our family. My son-in-law ordered the veal parmigiana - he could not finish it was so big. The gnocchi made with mozzarella- melted in your mouth! Charlie the manager was pleased that I thanked him for a great Birthday dinner!! His staff deserved some appreciation. Hats off to the chef! We will for sure be back. read more

We were met by kind hostesses and sat relatively quickly considering we did not have a reservation. The interior is beautifully decorated although the spring/fall weather will have you wishing you did make a reservation as we were envious of the outdoor seating space! We were seated in a smaller side room and the menu offered just enough variety to please most. We ordered the meatball flight (pictured) which was fantastic and perfect for splitting between two. My favorites were the Local Beef & Grana. We accompanied the meatballs with an order of brussel sprouts which were excellently prepared and the Fibonacci pizza, also delicious. All in all the food was fabulous and brought relatively quickly, the perfect amount for two. There were quite a few instances where food runners & servers were trying to figure out where food belonged among tables, asking if certain things were ours, etc. and our server was ok, but all in all a very nice dinner experience. Caesar salad was bland, pale chopped Romaine topped with breadcrumbs that made the salad taste dry. The Caprese salad did look much better. Diavolo pizza was pretty good, maybe a little too spicy with jalapeños, hot cherry peppers, Italian sausage and spicy sauce, however, it came out lukewarm. Even the sausage topping was barely warm like it was cooked yesterday and tossed on at the end. Eggplant Parm came out lukewarm and had to be sent back to be heated properly. Called and was told they don't use that service and that was it. Called toast who told me to call the restaurant back for a refund. Very sketchy and almost cost me a trip to my bank and a new debit card. Super dishonest. Hi. So went to Grana last night for my bday w my girlfriends. It's very beautiful inside and the bar area plus the bartender were great. We ordered 3 Caesar salads (was obviously bagged lettuce), orrechietti w sausage and broccolini, and ziti w meatballs. Well..... The orrechietti was smothered in garlic (somewhat raw), some small pieces here of the broccoli and tiny pieces of ground sausage. I hated to complain but it was soooo garlicky it wasn't edible (all girls tastes it). I'm used to slices of sausage and nice pieces of broccolini. The ziti looked beautiful but sooo salty. The waiter was kind and took my dish back. Why do cooks insist on covering and seasoning many dishes w tons of garlic and salt. That's what inexperienced cooks do. My wife and I ate hear for her birthday, and it was amazing. Our server was so funny & polite. The food was delicious. We ordered the calamari to start, and shared the beef short rib pasta & rigatoni vodka. The cocktail menu looked quite fun (will have to give the limoncello margarita a try next time). I ordered the whiskey sour (splendid) and she ordered a glass of wine. To cap the whole night off, they gave us a free dessert for her birthday! We treated ourselves to the tiramisu. Hello, This is not about the reservation. Let me begin by saying we had reservation for 5 and were welcomed fine and sent to go to the outdoor area. Noone led us to a table and we found someone to tell us where to go. They said we could seat you here and added a chair and we said ok. Welll,,,,,,, we sat for 15 minutes we no Menus and no one to come to our table. So,,, we found someone and then they finally came. Drinks and food were ordered together since we waited so long. Drinks another 15 minutes later. My husband pizza came quickly as waited for our food another 10 minutes later. To top it off after we ate our meals and another 15 minutes went by our checks were delivered and we were like well this service has been terrible. But did have a suggestion on their orechetti with broccolini dish (add more brcollini). The managers went above and beyond to acknowledge our idea and even brought their actual broccolini side. When going to Italian food you can't go wrong. That is with the food! Every time I have been to Grana (this location now for the first time and previously the perimeter location) the food has been great, as expected for Italian. However, the service from the host (a brunette male with tattoos on his forearm) was unacceptable. My husband and I went for his birthday dinner tonight and was met with disappointment. We arrive at approximately 6:30. Mind you the website does not "recommend" or "highly recommend" reservations, and in previous visits (perimeter location) there was no issue with getting seated, even if I had to wait 30-40mins. Furthermore, we let the host know we needed a table for two. He asked if we had a reservation, the answer was obviously no. He stated that they were far too booked tonight. (As I viewed at a fairly empty restaurant) He did not attempt to give us a wait time just said it's impossible because of reservations and that we "could" take 2hrs to finish, but that we could sit at the bar. For some more context. When we arrive there were approximately 10 open tables with maybe 10-20 table currently dinning. The bar only had one other pair seated. We obviously sat at the bar because we didn't want to go about finding a new place further ruining the night. As we sat at the bar we conveniently sat in sight of 6 open tables. These open tables remained opened for 45mins while we worked through our cocktails, appetizers and pretty much our main course. Then once we started on dessert 3 more tables opened up adding to the frustration as to why we could have been seated properly. Then once other people arrived to fill those tables the rest of the occupied tables opened up. In addition another couple that was seated at the bar 15 mins after us was then placed at a seat after 20 mins of waiting. With all this in mind I encourage the Grana- Roswell location to work on their simple math when calculating how to seat walk-ins and reservations. The fact that we practically ate our whole meal while all the tables that were empty when we arrived, remained open is gravely infuriating. This alone would make me not want to make a reservation in the future. This alone ruined our meal because all we focused on was how many tables remained open and opened up during our time here. They not once had anyone waiting and not once had a "full house". I understand this location just opened up recently but good grief it's not so hard to seat walkins amongst reservations , especially for a table of 2. Despite this I will say the food was great, as always and as expected for Italian. It's what you want and expect for good quality Italian food. Our server at the bar was excellent. (Her and her twin haha) I will however think twice about recommending this location solely on the inability to simply serve and provide a table. This restaurant has a beautiful, spacious patio that is apparently just for show. I specifically called ahead to confirm I could bring my dog for lunch, and they assured me not only was the patio open but that they even provide water bowls for pets. Based on that, I made a reservation for 11:30 AM. When we arrived, we were told the patio was closed because "it might rain." The weather apps on our phones all showed zero rain until late evening (and even then, only a minimal chance). The indoor dining area was completely empty, and instead of accommodating their only customers, they simply turned us away. Unfortunately, this wasn't my first time running into the same excuse. On a previous Friday evening visit, the patio was also closed "due to possible rain." At the time, they were busy indoors, so I assumed it might be a logistical issue with moving guests inside if weather changed. But after this second experience, it's clear this is a pattern--not an isolated incident. It's baffling that a restaurant with a patio the size of the entire dining room would go out of its way not to use it. Whether it's management indifference or some other internal issue, the result is the same: a wasted trip and a lost customer. I will not be returning. read more
