I have driven past this location so many times, and finally I had a chance to stop for lunch. I picked the tri-tip sandwich with fries. The tri-tip was bbq to perfection, moist and full of flavor, the bread was toasted and fresh along with the battered fries. So good. This is a good value for the amount you get, and totally love the convenience of the location. There is one table inside, but also a couple tables outside, probably more of a pick up and go, but you can definitely sit and enjoy your meal as well This is a shared commercial kitchen, so not too fancy, just getting down to business, that is ok. Stopped by here because I was traveling through the area and picked up a Tri-tip sandwich combo. The sandwich was phenomenal! I highly recommend. Wow that tri tip is absolutely delicious- perfectly cooked, very flavorful and everything was cooked fresh. We enjoyed watching Pilates of the Caribbean while we waited for our beautiful fresh food. I'm on the fence. I got the gene special. Tri tip and chicken sandwich. First I'll say the visit was alright. Dude was cool at least. Respect his hustle and grind. The sandwich however for me was like 5/10 and after further review, the onions threw it completely off with the burnt char taste. Every bite had this taste of burnt crumbs from like the flat top or something, like all the excess burnt crap got thrown on my sandwich. I wasn't digging it. The tri tip was decent. We understand he's working alone and there was one person in front of us, but that was frustrating since we still had to drive all the way home before we could eat. Take out only. But the most unfortunate part was that it was not the best tri-tip. We all got tri-tip - fries, tacos, plate and sandwich. All were too salty. Only three of the sides were available out of six. Also, there is no option for meat only. Two of us didn't want any sides. No discount. It's $7.50 for mozzarella sticks but he won't take $1 off if we don't get them. We really wanted to love this place because good barbecue places are hard to find, but the sandwich was so burnt even the tri-tip tasted burnt. I've tried this place on three different occasions...all a fail...not sure if google and yelp hours are wrong but two out of the three times the place stated open yet upon arriving the place was closed and was on the weekend when you'd think one would be trying capture the weekend crowd. Then the third time the tri tip which is seems to be the specialty was unavailable yet one arrived right at opening. Just an idea might want to revise business hours for "for sure opening times and food availability." I'm only one person and mind you have tried 3 separate times imagine how much business overall you could be losing out on because I can tell you the weekend day I came it was someone walking up just as I was leaving for me to have to tell them the place was closed.
