Son wanted to grab some Thai food for dinner and decided on this spot. What a great choice. We ordered a lot, just to try it. The woman that was taking care of us was very nice and helpful. I am going to mention the one negative of the visit, but it's not enough to reduce stars. The benches and tables are in need of repairs/replacement. Everything we tried was excellent. Bad Night-Bad Experience. The food was not very good and it did not come out of the kitchen hot. Our Sui Mi was steamed but only slight warm. The Crispy Duck was small pieces of heavily battered mystery meat. No bones which made me very suspicious. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp was served with a light tasteless sauce but no salt and pepper. The vegetable dish w/chicken looked like they cleaned out the bottom of the refrigerator--a hodge-podge of roughly cut semi fresh vegetables and dry tasteless chicken. I have eaten before and would have not come back if I was served a meal like this. This total waste cost $90.65. I spent about 20 minutes trying to get through, and we finally managed to get in and order. We got a mix of Pad Thai, salt and pepper shrimp with shrimp head, and the tom yum. It took about 30 minutes for our food to arrive, and the combination Pad Thai was the best. The salt and pepper shrimp was okay, but they forgot the shrimp head. Got the yellow curry lunch special with a spice level of 7 - which ended up being perfect for me; the heat doesn't over power the flavor, my nose was running and eyes watering but the flavor will still there more prominent than the spice, I couldn't stop eating. The restaurant is quite small and doesn't have too much seating, but the service here stood out because of how friendly the staff is. We don't expect incredible service anywhere to be honest because most places don't have the proper staffing, disgruntled workers, or just overall lack of service etiquette in general for fast turnover of tables. But, the lady and gentleman here who appear to be running the front are so nice and quick for service. Food here is portioned well for the price and is of good quality. The crab fried rice had plenty of lump crab throughout and a balance of flavors with some sautéed tomatoes to mellow out the salt and good texture with crisp onions for slight contrast to the rice. My honey wanted crab rangoons and they came out with crisp edges and a soft hot filling that was quite rich. I was surprised they were as good as they were because I am not a fan normally since a lot of restaurants just load on the cream cheese. The pad see ew and pad kee mao were both good, and I especially liked that the veggies had a crunchy texture and weren't overcooked so it complemented the dishes well with the soft flat noodles and protein. We had to ask for napkins, before we were finished eating, our bill was sitting on the table with a to go bag. They are not about customer service.They're all about serving you the food you ordered and making money.They don't care whether you like their food or not. This is the 3rd time I have had Lucky Thai and it was good as usual. We got take out, it was ready in about 45 minutes. I enjoy their chicken pad see ewe and they have one of the better ones I have had. Their potstickers and crab Rangoon are also a crowd favorite when it comes to appetizers. My friend had their orange chicken and it is not traditional orange chicken, it is more like sweet and sour with the orange sauce on the side. Great pad Thai! I ordered fried tofu instead of chicken. Great taste is imperative, but if the appearance of your food is very important to you also... They've got it down. The bean sprouts and peanuts were aside in my to go order keeping them crunchy and I placed on them on top. The plate in the picture is a little less than half of my order. The spring rolls are generously filled and very light and crisp. Next time I'm ordering the Penang (orange curry). They have red, yellow and a brown peanut curry. I didn't know which to order so I started with the staple. Pad Thai. My heat level was a five out of 10. I would say that was correct. A little bit of sweet and a little bit of heat. They gave me a little extra red sauce and pepper in case I wanted more heat. The person who took my order, the person who made it and served it were helpful and upbeat. I like that in a restaurant. This place is our go-to. We always get the same thing (after trying much of the menu). Nothing here is bad, we just have our favorites. They offer everything on a scale of 1-10 for spicy-ness. We always compromise on a 5 (I don't like spicy but my boyfriend does and he adds chili sauce to everything). With that being said it can be a little spicy even if you order with a low spice number so if you don't like spice I would suggest ordering with no spice. If you think this is thai good and gave 5 stars for it. You probably have never had bomb thai food. This place used to be good about a year ago. Came back and has changed drastically. Should have known by the fact that the place was empty and the only person working was hanging out with friends at a table. Food quality has gone down significantly. The flavor is not there and the chicken is like rubber. I also ordered by phone and was told a 30 min wait time, only to find out after arriving in less than 15mins that my order was sitting on a table. How busy hanging out with friends do you have to be to hive such a bad pick up expectation. Sorry but this place is garbage now. Avoid and do yourself a favor drive a bit to green valley north area.
