I'm always looking for strong neighborhood Thai spots, and Mama Surang delivers solid value with great food quality and generous portions. The Food & Value Lunch Special & Thai Tea: Highly affordable and plentiful. Pairing the lunch special with a refreshed, cold Thai iced tea was a great touch. Green Curry: Fragrant, deeply flavorful, and well-balanced, with the vegetables cooked to a perfect tender-crisp texture. Crispy Pork Fried Rice: Really tasty flavor profile overall. My only small tweak would be rendering the fat on the pork a bit longer to get it truly crispy, as a few pieces were a little too fatty. The Service & Setup Service was nice and friendly throughout. The only minor drawback was the table cleanliness--it looked a bit rushed and fell slightly short on the wipe-down, though not enough to ruin the experience. Overall, good flavors, solid portions, and an excellent lunch option on the Southwest side.
Amazing food, prices and service. We ordered multiple dishes and loved everything we ordered. I was able to reserve for my party of 12 and would definitely recommend this place to others!
Yummy!!! I've been loving Thai Food lately and glad my girlfriend decided to take me here for lunch. Service was ok and a but slow. Food: $13.95 PAD Thai with Chicken spicy level $13.95 Thai Basil The pad thai was a bit spicy even though I love a little bit of spice. Level 2 shouldn't have been this hot. Even my friend thought so. The Thai Basil was delicious. Love the flavors and vegetables. Very good if you're looking for a healthy option. Both meals came with a green salad, fried egg roll and thai tea. What a deal. I'll definitely return again.
If you're looking for pretty good Thai food and friendly service this place is a solid spot to try out. I usually order delivery but decided to have lunch at the restaurant to have the full overall experience. We were immediately greeted by the server and she sat us right away. There were a few patrons before us but she made sure to instantly take our drink orders before leaving our table. I knew I was going to order their Chicken Pad Thai which is my favorite and my husband wanted to try something different from his usual, so he ordered the Yellow Curry Chicken. Our server was the only one working up front and even though it was pretty hectic she managed to handle it all with ease. Our food did take quite sometime to arrive, but when it did come it was piping hot and smelled absolutely heavenly. The Pad Thai noodles were cooked to perfection, the sauce had the right amount of umami flavors, and the fresh veggies and peanuts mingled everything together beautifully. As for the curry, it was just okay but it didn't have those rich aromatic flavors we're accustomed to. The curry may have not been our favorite, but the rest of the food we've tried has been pretty spot on.
Watch out for the spice level or you might make a big MSTK. Mama Surang's Thai Kitchen seems like a small neighborhood restaurant, but it caught my mom's eye on a Facebook ad or some such. We decided to check out their lunch specials ($13.95), which are available Mon-Fri 11am-3pm, excluding holidays. The Pad Thai has luscious noodles and comes richly sauced, and it's just as delicious as any version I've had. There was a sufficient amount of chicken for the whole dish. The salad comes with a light vinaigrette and the egg roll with a sweet sauce. The spicy level 3 of 5 is potent and hit me hard from the very first bite. The Red Curry is also strong, and I quickly found the 2 of 5 also problematic. This version seems a tad lighter on coconut milk than usual, but I definitely appreciated getting more of the curry flavors than the coconut. There was a lot of tender pork and the veggies were also plentiful. I ended up doing a replacement entree, Thai Basil with pork. The sauce is great but they seem to have cooked the veggies separately, not allowing the sauce to marry into them. But you can still find enough savory, assertive liquid in the bowl to carry enough flavor to work with the white rice. The portions of the lunch special are all described on the receipt as a half portion, and that does kinda feel accurate. But the small Thai Tea is just $1 extra and I think the server felt sorry for my suffering enough that we got not only two of those comped, but an extra full Thai Tea portion to-go (normally $3.00). It's a creamy, moderately sweet beverage that definitely helped me cool down. Mama Surang's is a good local Thai spot that seems to know what they're doing. Assuming I decide to make the trek out here from Henderson again, I would try the regular-size entrees for better value next time.
Placed an online to-go order for 2 entrees on a Saturday night. We got an order of pad see ew ($16.95) and drunken noodle ($16.95). Paying and ordering online was easy. Their spice level scale is 0-5. Since the estimated time for the order to be ready was 20 minutes, I got there in 25 minutes just in case they were running behind. Parking is easy since they have a shared lot in a strip mall. Inside, it feels like a small and cozy family-owned restaurant. I noticed it was a little warm inside (considering it's 100+ degree summer weather right now), and they had 2 AC units stacked on top of tables by the front entrance to try to cool down the rest of the restaurant. They had plenty of ceiling fans, but none were on. At the register, I was told that my order wasn't ready yet and they needed a few more minutes. Not a problem (initially)... but I ended up waiting in person for 20 more minutes before my pick up order of 2 noodle entrees were ready. In other words, the total time for the food to be ready after placing the online order was 45 minutes. I understand that sometimes things slow down for one reason or another, but I would have appreciated transparency instead of being told "just a few more minutes." While I was waiting, a party actually came in, was seated, ordered food, and got their food delivered to their table before I even got my order. This is actually what irked me the most. As for the food itself, I thought it was flavorful albeit a little pricey for the portion size. Also, the 3/5 spice level for my drunken noodle was more like a 1/5. I really wanted to like this Thai restaurant, but was not very impressed. Perhaps taking advantage of their lunch specials or having a dine-in experience in the future would have made for a better impression.
Tried mama surang's and we liked it! We did the lunch special for 13.95 and it comes with salad & eggroll & if you want a small thai tea just add a $1. I had beef basil, yumm! My husband had chicken sweet & sour & pad thai. They're all good! While we were eating, server passed by with some interesting food in the cart & she's holding a torch and we couldnt help but ask her lol. She said it was wagyu and we want to come back & try it. The place is small but cute. A lot of people eating but there's no wait, at least when we get there we didnt had to wait
Had food delivered and it was so so mid. I was really looking forward to something yummy. But I was definitely let down. What a bummer. Beef pad see eew had noodles too soggy, chicken larb needed more flavor (I had to add fish sauce and lime and was missing the cabbage, the crab fried rice lacked flavor and smelled too pungent. Can't speak on service since food was delivered by DoorDash. Still have to file the missing cabbage lol. So nothing on ambiance, either. But the food presentation was very cute and portions are deff fair. Just overall flavor was not it.
We had the Tom Kha soup. Just the right spice. Very good and flavorful. We also had the Khao Soi (crab and wagyu ) yum yum!! The curry was so good and matched the flavor of the crab and meat. Can't wait to go back!
I absolutely love Thai food. In doing my research prior to arriving here I knew that this was a small, family owned business, places that I love to support. I made reservations for an early dinner. By the time we ordered to the time we got our food, it did take over 30 minutes. And we asked for number 1 in spice level because my dad doesn't like super spicy food. I will say that I can handle about a medium spice and being a big fan of Thai food, be advised that their food does come out really spicy even when we ordered a 1 in spice level. I felt bad because my dad couldn't eat half of the dishes, that's the only thing that brought the rating down a little bit. They were really friendly though.
The food was top notch! The beef jerky is so good. Pad Thai 9/10 Basil fried rice 8.5/10 Crab Rangoon 5/ 10 they were cold and not crunchy Edamame was standard so good Service was great! Come back and try this place! Sai was our waitress and was helpful!
This restaurant does false advertising! We went there based on their huge Instagram advertising of lunch special $13.95 includes an entre and an appetizer egg roll, a salad, a piece of orange and a Thai drink but what we got was small entre and a terrible small very sweet salad! Nothing else came with it. Charged a dollar for the very sweet little container Thai tea that was to be included . It was totally unfair and not worth the money! When we told the server she said "sorry"! Do Not Recommend this place at all! We went there once before and remember it to be good but this time we got taken and I am mad! We had a guest and it was really embarrassing! We didn't even get full!! The pad Thai was like a child size !! Very bad

I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful local, family-owned Thai spot! It's a cozy, smaller restaurant, but they are doing big things here. The highlight was the unexpected tableside service. For a smaller neighborhood gem, getting that level of care and attention right at our table was incredibly impressive and made the meal feel truly special. The prices are super affordable, especially considering the massive portions they serve. You definitely won't leave hungry, and the quality of the food is fantastic. If you want to support an amazing local family business that treats you right and serves up delicious food at a great price, this is your spot. I'll definitely be back! read more
So heard about lunch special at Mama Surang's Thai Kitchen. I always see sign advertise outside cause near my house. Plus love Thai food! So first impressions was nice interior design and great vibe. The lunch special they have separate page but also have regular menu. It has nice diversity of all normal Thai foods. The price point for lunch special and portion of food is really good!!! There like six different choices for entrees then choose protein or upgrade selection for it. I ended up going with the Thai Basil and protein went with chicken. It was awesome. I loved the sauce, hearty lots of vegetables and chicken. It comes with one egg roll that was good. House salad enjoyed the dressing and perfect compliment. Bowl of rice. Add on small Thai iced tea extra charge. Overall everything was amazing and price best lunch specials in Vegas. Service was five stars. Warm welcome soon walked in. Seen a lunch special ad on Instagram for Mama Surang's Thai kitchen so i called my sister yelper "Nette" and said get ready we are going to eat! Our drive there took about 20 minutes - place is very easy to find! Restaurant is your typical Thai restaurant with like decor. Very clean and comfortable. It was lunchtime so we were fortunate to get seated as more customers started to come in for lunch. We wanted to try the Lunch Special that they offer. We each ordered what we wanted to try. I ordered the Pad Thai. The lunch special came with the Pad Thai, Rice, Spring Roll w/veggies AND a cold iced Thai Tea! EXCELLENT value and very delicious!!!! The only thing i would say negative is that our food was kind of too spicy, we both asked for mild but got spicy. If the dish wasn't so flavorful i prolly wouldn't have been as happy. I will make it a point to stress less spicy next time as I WILL BE back! read more

WOW food is amazing I drive pass here every day and never stopped. I'll tell you what I'm glad I did , A1 very kind and good vibes in the room very welcoming and attentive. Had the lunch special, which was quite a bit of food quality was top-tier. Definitely will be back bringing friends and family. read more
Saw a video on instagram about this place so my partner and I decided to try it. Went like 2 hours before closing. Place is like a little hole in the wall but was very clean and organized. The employee was sweet, gave us appropriate amount of time to look at the menu and took our order. Food came out at a good time as we were the only ones there. Appetizers were really good, cucumber salad was my favorite. The dressing was vinegar based which I like. We got the potstickers since they are made with chicken. Crispy and sauce to dip them in was delicious. Entrees we got the crab fried rice spicy 4 and chicken pad thai spicy 3. They both tasted like no spice at all. We were disappointed about that. But overall flavor of food was just like any other thai spot. Also got a thai tea drink and that was good. This place isn't close to where I live, won't go back unless I'm around the area read more
I recently saw a post on social media recommending this spot, so I decided to give it a try. Although it's on the opposite side of town from where I live, it was definitely worth the drive! This restaurant is located in a strip mall with ample parking right off of Ft. Apache. We were greeted and seated upon entering by our friendly server. We reviewed the menu and placed an order for the chicken potstickers while we pondered our entree choices. The potstickers were up within 5 minutes, they were piping hot and had a really flavorful filling. The yummy soy based dipping sauce was perfect as an impromptu "dressing" for the lettuce and carrots that accompanied the potstickers. For our entrees, my fiance and I both went with our tried and true dishes- Pad See Ew with chicken for him and Pad Prik King with chicken for me. I usually order mine with shrimp, but chicken appealed to me tonight. When we ordered, our server asked how spicy on a scale of 1-5 and I clarified how spicy their 5 was, she said it's "American spicy" so we went with 5's. The dishes looked delicious and thankfully they delivered on flavor. At first I was missing the kefir lime flavor that is synonymous with Pad Prik King, but as I swiped my veggies and chicken through the sauce further on the bottom I started to get that complex flavor. I really appreciate that they included bamboo shoots and zucchini in addition to the traditional green beans and peppers that usually come with this dish. My fiance really enjoyed his pad see ew and said it was definitely one of the better versions he's had in Vegas. Spice wise, I agree that the 5 was "American spice", which I was fine with as it ensured it didn't overpower the flavors of the dish. My fiance felt it was a bit spicier than I did, but we both enjoyed the level. This is definitely a hidden gem that I'm glad I stumbled across. read more
Came here with my dad and we ordered the Khao Soi with American Wagyu, and it was outstanding. The broth was rich and incredibly flavorful, and the bowl was loaded with generous portions of crab and tender Wagyu. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced, with just the right level of spice and depth. Great experience overall and definitely a place I'd return to for this dish. read more

Mama Surang's is absolutely delicious. We went here for a Father's Day 2025. At first we were a little worried. The space is small and we had a party of like 15. But it's middle of July and the ac was broken. Thankfully they had a couple swamp coolers that definitely elevated the heat. But when it comes to their food. My God, it's absolutely delicious, authentic, and abundant. When I mean abundant they give so much food. Plenty for sharing. The pad see ew was so flavorful. I got level 1 spice. My 1 year old was able to handle it. But flash forward to today (07/01/25) we just ordered takeout and the level 1 spice was a like a level 2 spice. My toddler could not handle it. So I think we will skip on spice next time. The crab fried rice was soooo good in the restaurant and even for takeout. There is so much rice and actual crab in the rice. It's worth every penny. All the spices and garlic makes for a deliciousness food explosion in your mouth LOL. I'm not lying. Try it. This location is a lot less busy. And they have the same kinds of food at their other restaurant. I think they said it was more of a tapas style. But don't quote me on it, go look it up. Service was great. Food kinda came out at different times for such a big group. But really the food is worth it. Go try! read more

Stopped in on a Tuesday evening and it wasn't too busy, which was already a win. The place is on the smaller side, but felt cozy, not cramped. Service was quick and personable. I'm pretty particular about Thai food and this place definitely delivered. We ordered the vegetable panang curry, catfish delight, and pad see ew. All of them were solid, but the pad see ew was hands down my favorite -- just the right amount of savory, slightly sweet, and cooked perfectly. Spice levels go from 1 to 5. We asked for a 3 across the board. This stuff had heat, but in a good way. If you're not into spicy, maybe start lower. Portions were generous and pricing felt really fair. Would definitely come back. Casual, tasty, and not trying too hard. Just good Thai food done right. read more
Ok...been wanting to come to this place I saw a video about this place about a year ago. Looks like they changed ownership since I saw the video. The food was good service was good unfortunately I'm not into Thai food. Again not there fault can't give them the last star because yes they had one of items that was featured in video and looks like new owners took out some items. But the flame cooked curry was one of them Sooooooo my wife liked it but unfortunately Thai is not my thing. The sweetness gets to me after a few bites. The food was really good here. The service was good because no one was there when we went. They did table side khao soi which turned out great. It's a small mom and pop joint. No AC but they do their best. No random smells - I like it. It's a local joint and I would come back. read more

Of course we came to try out the wagyu and crab khao soi. Came on a weekday, it wasn't busy. We were greeted with a warm welcome and got a table as soon as we walked in. The place is decorated with traditional elements like wood carvings. Our food came out fairly quick. It's a table side show when you order the khao soi. They cook it to your liking using a butane torch. We ordered it medium rare and they torch it, adding extra flavor when they sear the meat. Now, since it was wagyu, the meat should have been a bit more tender and melt in your mouth however it was more on the chewy side. Wish the broth was more hot. The crab added such a great depth of flavor to the broth. We ordered a fried pork dish that came with a lot of sautéed veggies which were nice and crunchy. The sticky rice may have been microwaved a little too much, most of it was hard and inedible. They apologized for the error but still charged us for it. Some minor issues hence the 3 stars. read more

My cousin wanted to hit up this spot when we were in Vegas. We decided to stop here for lunch on a Friday and were seated right away. They had parking in a shared lot. We were able to get a couple of things to share. We started with the beef salad, which was refreshing and limey. Next, we got the crab fried rice. I enjoyed this fried rice. There were tons of crab and the flavors went well together. I think this was my favorite dish here. Of course, you have to order their khao soi when you come here. There are different protein options. We went with the wagyu and crab. When you order the wagyu as a protein, they serve it table side. I liked the consistency of the curry. On our initial and most probably last visit to this restaurant we started off with a Thai cucumber salad that was barely okay and clearly paled in comparison to the one I prepare at home. Mama Surang must have been elsewhere on the night of our visit because our order of pad cha, described on the menu as sizzling seafood on fire, lacked both sizzle and fire. It also included far too many pieces of large, ultra chewy squid with an overall flavor profile that is best described as blah. We fared far, far better with our second entree of holy crab and spicy noodle. What started out at disappointing turned into an incredible meal. Initially, we went to mama surang's for the lobster dish. We called ahead, made reservations as you're supposed to for this dish. When we arrived, they said the lobster was left out and not in good condition so they could not serve us the dish. While I am happy they have health standards, we were very disappointed. However, the other dishes were incredible. The pad Thai was delicious and full of meat, the wings were hot and not overly spicy. The highlight was the blue crab wagyu. It is prepared table side. What a show! The service is great, the place is tiny. If you're not going for the lobster you don't really need reservations as the place was empty for lunch on a Friday. My bf & I decided to try this place after seeing recommendations on Tik Tok. Bonus: it was so close to us, so that was a plus! We went around 4 pm on a Saturday and were seated right away. We (of course) HAD to get the viral Khao Soi Wagyu & Crab Curry, Lobster & Shrimp Tom Yum Soup, & Papaya Salad. 1. Khao Soi Wagyu & Crab Curry - This absolutely lived up to the hype!! They serve it tableside, where they blowtorch the meat to your liking (medium rare for us), & then add a whole bunch of lump crab before pouring the curry over top, finishing up with fried noodles. The curry is rich & creamy, & the combo of the wagyu & crab is *chef's kiss* It came with noodles underneath, so you don't need any rice unless you want it! 2. Lobster & Shrimp Tom Yum Soup - This was an expensive item on the menu ($59.95) but we wanted to try it at least once! They also serve this tableside, where they torch the lobster & shrimp before pouring the soup on top. It was absolutely delicious!! I'm a big fan of tom yum so the soup itself was perfectly spicy, with that classic lemongrass tom yum flavor. It came with noodles (which I wasn't expecting) & I don't think it needed it so I wish they didn't add it. This was still really good but I don't think I'd order again for the price. 3. Papaya Salad - This was such an unexpected dish for me that I REALLY love! It was so refreshing & a delicious side that helped cut through the richness of the other 2 meals. Came in for the advertised American wagyu and holy crab curry noodle (KHOA SOI) seen on Instagram. I enjoyed it because I'm a huge fan of Thai curry. The spiciness level was just right for me, which the waitress said was 0, can't imagine what level 5 would be like. The wagyu was tender, cooked at table side. Loved the crab bits, which can get lost in the curry sauce. My husband and I shared this and I thought it was the perfect serving for 2. The curry can get too heavy so that's why I think it's a good dish for 2. If I wasn't out of town I would've taken the sauce to go and eaten it with rice as another meal lol. Mama Surang's Thai Kitchen located in Spring Valley that is West of the Las Vegas Strip not far from The Gramercy. This is a small family ran business. They are well known for their Wagyu & Holy Crab Curry and also for their house made red curries. The only alcohol I noticed was beer. Short Story- The food is good but service can be better to say the least. Long Story- This restaurant was highly recommended to me so I wanted to give it a try. I did notice that the on-line menu does differ some from the actual menu. I asked about the Crispy Spinach salad that is on the special menu (on-line) and the server looked at me like I was incorrect... I asked what kind of fish is used for the crispy fish and the waiter instead of finding out just said, "I don't know." Latter I found out the food spiciness runs number one-five. The spice runs mild here so if you want a little heat you need to order at least number four. Anyways We started out by trying the potstickers. Here they are fried all over crisp instead of just crisp bottoms and are ok. Within a minute my husband's Drunken noodles comes out but my meal doesn't make it to the table for at least TWENTY MINUTES with nobody saying anything to me during this time and we were the only table too.,.... We were upset and were about to leave. My husband told them he was going to pay for (what we had so far) the potstickers and my iced tea while his meal was getting old and cold waiting 20 minutes for mine. Then after that I told the owner if the kitchen has some sort of problem they should tell me instead of just letting me sit there for 20 minutes with no communication at all. Latter when we were about to leave the owner was apologetic and offered to make my husband a new fresh dish. He also offered a complimentary dessert (we declined). The food was good But service can be an issue here. They don't understand on how to serve people. I am being overly generous with the 4 stars because I am not a fan of the service we had. read more
