I love Luckin Coffee in China for a quick latte or iced coffee. It's everywhere in China and relatively cheap for coffee. I tried this NYC location when I was in new york and got the iced coconut latte which is my go-to. It's perfectly creamy with a touch of sweetness, making it the perfect pick-me-up. After hearing about Luckin Coffee, we dropped by Luckin Coffee In Hell's Kitchen to try their drinks. Ordering on their mobile app was easy and came with a 50% coupon that made our 2 drinks very affordable - it even came with a free holiday magnet. This location was more of a grab and go with no seating - the interior looked very clean and modern. The pick up process was also very mobile centric - they put your drinks out for pick up, and you scan a QR code from the app at the counter to pick up your drinks. We ordered a large Pink Sunrise (for their fancy Iceplay cup that darkens the color of the letters with a cold liquid) and a large Coconut Velvet Latte. The Pink Sunrise was very refreshing and fruity. The Coconut Velvet Latte on a cold day really blew me away. The velvet part (sweeter creamy milk) in conjunction with the coconut milk really elevated the latte giving it a "velvetly" & creamy texture - honestly best latte I've had in a while. Okay so I just had to check it out. So much talk about this place. I don't have the app but my buddy had it and suggested I give this place a try. I also wanted to see the Asian Starb*cks as all claim it to be. They offer some sweet treats, many drink options besides coffee and breakfast sandwiches daily. My friend ordered the pineapple coffee - I wouldn't have thought of this combination. But the reviews are in and it's pretty good. Flavors are complimentary and they work well together. Real pineapple in it, by the way. I had the matcha coconut latte and it was really good. Super light given it's not made with cream. And the matcha proportion was good. For those unsure of matcha and like it mild, this is the perfect taste. I love matcha so I would've wanted it stronger but still very good. The best part of all their drinks are that they are dairy free. So lactose intolerant peeps, this is the place for you! Heard of Luckin through social media and the summer popup. This location is very small and is more of a grab and go as others have mentioned. I thought that there was going to be seating. You basically put your order in on the app. There's no cash or credit card exchanged here. You can customize the milk and sugar options when ordering. It's a pretty cold day so I opted for a warm drink settling on the Kyoto matcha with oat milk and the least amount of sugar. The drink was quickly prepared. You scan a QR code on the app when you pick up your order. The matcha wasn't bad, but I think the flavors come through more when it's served iced. It was mid morning so didn't order a pastry. If you want to try out this brand, download the app and they will give you a bunch of coupons that are good for a week. I tried their Creme Brûlée Latte, which was one of their seasonal drinks. I have to say I was not that impressed with it. I did liked their Toffee Hazelnut Latte I tried at another location, so I'd recommend that. The Toffee Hazelnut Latte is also seasonal, so may not exist until next winter. read more

Stumbled upon this place after dinner. My friend and I were looking for something hot to drink after dinner. You have to order your drinks through the app and you can customize it anyway you like. They have a great promotion where first time app users get their first drink for $1.99. I got the coconut latte and added caramel and cinnamon syrup! It was sooo good! I had seen Luckin coffee all over social media and was told I needed to try it out. So I did just that. The 8th ave location is very small ( not sure if they are all like that). There are a few locations around Manhattan. At this place you must order through their app which is a cool concept. But, if you have an allergy to any food type or milk type I could not for the life of me figure out how to do it on the app. Not sure if you can tell them when you go pick up your drink. Like I have a nut allergy. I know there are ingredients listed for each drink on the app, it also says to let a manager know before placing your order. I guess I could have done that and just placed my order on the app while I was there but, I also didn't know if it would be crowded or what not. I got the viral coconut ( I am not allergic to coconut milk) Iced latte. I was so excited to try it. My first taste, I was like oh man this is soo milky. I was sad about it. It was one of the cheapest coffees I have had in NYC though. Through the app they give you alot of coupons and such. I may try a different location and a different drink next time. This place was clean, no where to sit inside so it really is a grab and go place. They have cute sleeves though for the holiday season. read more

You have to order on the app first. Then for pick up, scan the QR code on the register and then grab your drink, which will have your number on. It's all sort of self-served, so you don't necessarily have to interact with the staff unless you have questions. This makes it easy for a quick grab and go cup of coffee or tea. The matcha is pretty good but it's just a bit on the milky side rather than strong matcha flavor. I also had their vital kale juice drink when it was a BOGO and I did not like that at all. It had a weird taste to it. If in the area and thirsty, I would get their matcha or coffee again. Their discounts make it easier to stop in for a drink, else regular price is about $7 for matcha and $5-6 for coffee. read more

I have already ordered 6 different drink - mix of coffee, matcha and fruity drinks. I like them all but my least favorite is the velvet latte. I tried it once and it was good, but a bit heavy on my stomach ... other than that my favorite are the fruit cold brews, the matcha latte and the pumpkin cinnamon latte. To preface, I'm a pretty amateur coffee drinker. I like my coffee like I like my desserts, sweet, rich, and not bitter at all. So if you're a big coffee-head, this review won't be for you. For the rest of us coffee scrubs though, this place is great! I went originally to their locations in China, and while this is not the same, it still has that similar vibe and feel. Love the mobile order efficiency, and when you get your order, you scan a code on your phone. Super alike to their China locations. I get their coconut latte, which is one of their signatures, if not THE signature. It's great. Sweet, easy to drink, good coffee flavor, and the coconut is lightly there, not overpowering the drink. If you're looking for something that's more in-your-face coconut, might not be for you. But if you like a sweet coffee with a ~ touch ~ of coconut, would def recommend. Service is quick and efficient too. One thing is that there's no seats, but if the weather permits, I'd recommend walking up to Central Park and chilling while drinking. The server was really mean! I was always order by app and came here for pick up, and I paid for extra charge for the togo paper bag. But they never packed for me, every time I was asking them for the bag then they just packed for me. This time i forgot to pay for the bag, and I just ask for the bag.
