I come pretty regularly and it's always quick service to order and get my drink since their latte is on tap. It's usually busier during morning rush and lunch hour, but still pretty quick. The service is always on point, the staff has always been friendly. Most of the patronage is from commuters working in the area, lots of office traffic. One thing about La Colombe is the coffee is fairly consistent across their several locations in the city. I'd tried the canned draft latte from the grocery store before, and it was so good I had to try their draft lattes in person. Of course, it didn't disappoint. However, make sure you have enough ice in your drink or else it's lukewarm in the beginning. I should have given mine a stir with ice because it tastes much better ice cold! La Colombe came highly rated in the NYC area and I was thankful to get to try their coffees a few times - both fresh brewed and canned. As far as the brand goes, I absolutely loved it. If you can find their (many) varieties of cans, it's worth grabbing one. La Colombe on Bryant Park was a great location for me as it was near my hotel and right across the street from the park, an amazing place to people watch and enjoy my drink. The cafe was small, but offered table and bar seating along the window. Walk up to the back near the cashier to order. Their menu is small, but everything you'd need to start a great morning. My favorite thing was the draft cold brew coffee, black. It was creamy and flavorful, extra strong. They also sell their cans, chocolates, and other items along the wall near the door. Prices were reasonable for the quality. There were a lot of professional people here, leading to believe it's a popular start outside of the big chains in the area. read more

Great coffee! Always tasty -- not too acidic and just the right amount of milk (I usually get a flat white). There are lots of standing tables to enjoy your coffee and a couple seats in the back. It's usually super crowded, but I haven't had trouble finding a spot to sit, work, or meet up with folks. My only wish is that they had WiFi (though I imagine that's for a reason)! read more

I was simultaneously deterred from and attracted to the reviews about the oatmilk draft latte. On the one hand, it sounded like it was going to be creamy coffee milkshake-but-is-still-latte-thin heaven. On the other hand, I saw all those reviews protesting the fact that once the froth disappeared, you were left with 2/3 of a drink. I decided to try it for myself and found that both sides made POINTS. I can confirm that it was, in fact, creamy coffee milkshake-but-is-still-latte-thin heaven. I loved that they served it with a little dish and spoon so that I could stir in my simple syrup and it tasted like a dessert drink but still had a strong coffee flavor. But! I was walking past Bryant Park having only taken maybe 1-2 sips of my drink and found that the froth had, in fact, made 1/3 of my drink disappear. The photo I attached is of the drink after those aforementioned 1-2 sips. Even though the drink was excellent, the more I thought about how it was such a rip off, the more upset I was, which is how this ended up being 3 stars. This cup was almost $7. If a cup of coffee is going to be that steep, you should 100% make sure that cup is filled all the way to the top (not to mention the ice that was also in it, taking up space). I'd love to buy this cup again but only if they change how they serve the drink so that when I buy a draft latte, I'm getting an entire draft latte, not just 2/3 of it. read more

A friend recommended this coffee shop and although I had been up and down the street I never really noticed it before, but once you get past the super hard to open door you'll find a little coffee spot with really good coffee. There was a short line that moved really quickly and then once your order is ready they set it up on the bar with a real spoon and a little plate so that you can add your own sweetener or cream with having to use a dumb disposable stick. And if I were drinking the draft latte, I would have definitely added some syrup for some sweetness, but my sister did not. They have good drinks! They come on tap which is really interesting. The staff there are kind and the interior is somehow specious but still cozy. This seems like a great spot to do some work on a laptop. Their simple syrup is legendary. Something they do just makes the flavors pop off in the best way possible. Very strange experience last time I visited though. A pretty pricey drink and halfway through drinking it I found part of a straw wrapper (or sugar wrapper?) floating in the coffee. There is also a variety of pastries, their own canned coffee brand, draft lattes. They also have this awesome water station that has both still water and seltzer for free. FREE SELTZER YAY. Not my best experience at the coveted La Colombe. I was itching to get the oat milk draft latte as the one I got in Chelsea left me on cloud 9. Unfortunately, this location fell flat--literally. The oat milk draft latte has nitrogen which gives it the foamy texture. They need to dial back on that nitro because my coffee was way too light and foamy. I was in shock, after reaching Bryant Park, only to see that my coffee settled to about 1/4 th of the cup. I wanted to enjoy my coffee at the park and only took a few sips! This situation did not happen at the Chelsea location; I was able to enjoy my oat milk draft latte at a leisurely pace without it having settled to that degree. I went back to the shop and explained what happened. The man at the cashier was understanding and led me back to the coffee station to get a new cup. The woman manning the draft latte was confused and gave me attitude, saying that the draft latte was "suppose to be foamy". I had to explain my situation to her 2 times and she still seemed confused. A manager came out to release some nitrogen from the tank. I asked again for another cup and she poured it reluctantly. Sorry, but her customer service skills are lacking. Still overly foamy. This would have been 2 stars, but I bumped it up to 3 just because they gave me another cup. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that it's just an off day, we shall see... read more

I used to come here now and then, pre-pandemic. It always felt like a 'special' experience. I loved getting the coffee in their beautiful mugs. I imagine I'd also gotten pastry there, in the past. And I remember that the baristas there seemed 'barista-like'. Today I went...my first time since COVID. For whatever reason, it seems they are currently not providing drinks in their usual mugs. Everything is in to-go cups. Their pastry display looked a tad bit...er...not so special. The pastries themselves, and the setup, looked more like what one would expect to see at a Starbucks or an Au Bon Pain. Nonetheless, I needed something to eat, so got some type of muffin with blueberries and slivered almonds. I took a few bites, but honestly, it was so Underwhelming that I threw the rest out. And one of the baristas working there...she didn't look like what one would expect at a true 'coffee' place. She looked rather sloppy (and not in a purposeful or 'artsy' way....more like she just didn't give a shit...) I suppose lots of places just aren't the same as they were, pre-pandemic. While I was happy to see that this location of La Colombe is still around, I can't say the experience this time was all that compelling, or that I'd want to seek this place out again, the next time I want coffee in the area. Bryant Park's La Colombe Coffee is spacious and sometimes I stop by to get some reading or work done. It's easy to find a seat in the morning but gets harder later. Place gets packed during the busy hour like sometime before 9 am and lunch time, but the line goes pretty fast. Draft latte here is pretty good, but it is sweeter and more filling than a latte, so it doesn't pair too well with pastries. I recommend enjoying draft latte by itself. read more

Horrible customer service. Came in to meet a friend, and was told I need a mask. I didn't have one and was told they won't serve me without one, even though I could provide proof of vaccination. I pointed out that the mask mandate was no longer in effect, but they said it didn't matter and that I could "speak with the owner" if I want to. I further pointed out the absurdity of needing a mask to place an order, only to then take it off as soon as one is seated. I told the cashier that I would take my business to one of the many thousands of businesses in the city that does not have such a ridiculous policy. The coffee here is truly amazing! This is a great spot right across from Bryant Park with a good amount of seating. I usually grab and go here and they are always very quick, while still delivering a high quality cup of coffee. Today, I had an iced latte here. It was perfect as always! I also love their cappuccinos and draft lattes. I didn't get food today, but I have had their vegan scone in the past and it was great. Even for such a central location, it is never too crazy crowded. I also like that they give you a spoon to stir your drink. It is an extra touch that is nice. They also are giving you lids that don't require a straw for cold drinks. So if you want a straw, remember to bring your metal ones to save the environment! read more
