I discovered this bar when they were doing a raffle to kick off the St.Patricks Day Parade. I had a blast. The bartenders were fast, efficient, and super friendly My friend was ordering baby Guinness shots and the one bartender realized it was mixing too much and remade it. That says a lot about the quality of this place in how they aren't going to put anything bad out. This is now going to be a bar I'll be highly recommending to friends.

The other components of the dish included fried bangers (sausages), black & white pudding (blood sausage & pork), baked beans, sauteed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, bacon, and another small puck of sausage, as well as brown bread and butter. It was a great value with some items I liked and some I didn't due to personal preference, not because anything wasn't prepared well, as it all appeared to be cooked properly. My girlfriend ordered the Celtic Grilled Cheese with bacon, arugula, aged white cheddar, aioli, grilled tomatoes on toasted sourdough. Her sandwich looked amazing, and I regret not asking for a bite. That may be a future order for me. She loved it! I also ordered the County Clare Bloody Mary, which is made with their own seasoning blend and served with a chaser of Harp beer. They asked me how spicy I wanted it, and I said medium, which I think they nailed. This was one of the best Bloodies I've had in town! Overall, a nice brunch experience with good service and a great ambience. I do want to return to try more brunch items.

However, the continuous construction (I feel like it's been since 2012??!!) is always extremely discouraging and parking is like the survival of the fittest. The pub itself has a similar vibe to Three Lions. I ADORE the Union Jack painted on the ceiling and red English phone booth. It is reminiscent of a stereotypical "English" pub (and yes, I have been to many - mostly outside of London - in the past 3 years). There was only one employee working at my time of visit, and maybe 10-15 other patrons. I ordered the Ruben rolls, which were great but left in the fryer 2 mins too long. Sadly, they did not have any of the ciders or beers I longed for.... which is understandable these days due to tariffs. I definitely plan on going back to see what the vibe is like during World Cup matches.

Chicken tenders come out burnt or the food is not as advertised. Their shepherds pie is not braised lamb, it's ground beef instead. Still tasted good, but disappointing. Several things on their website menu are actually never available. Service has been decent, sometimes takes a while for them to come back around, but the place is always packed for trivia.

Consistently busy over the years and for good reason. I've been here a few times and I've never been disappointed with the service or the food. It's a dark, cozy little restaurant bar but with so much character and history. Service is friendly and efficient. I love that the food I've ordered here has always exceeded my expectations with the seasonings and quality of ingredients used. Reasonably priced too! If you don't have a reservation, you may end up waiting for a table in the back area at a high top but it's a great opportunity to enjoy one of their great drinks in the meantime!

We quite literally came here straight from the airport. To make matters worse, we had not eaten anything substantial all day and had actually looked this restaurant up weeks before our trip while researching places to eat the infamous Wisconsin fish fry, so we were really looking forward to the experience. The experience started off poorly when our party was essentially scolded by the hostess for sitting at a table that apparently needed to be cleaned for the wait list. To make matters worse, the busser laughed and joked that we were "in trouble," to which I could only respond, "Sounds like it." Not exactly the welcoming atmosphere you'd hope for as a first time visitor. The fish fry was decent our tab came out to $150 for 5 people, but the service was absolutely subpar and our tip reflected that. We also had to send back two drink glasses because they were dirty one still had lipstick on it, and another had food stuck to the inside of the glass. Overall, this was a very disappointing dining experience. Between the unprofessional treatment, lackluster service, and cleanliness issues, I would not recommend stopping here. There are plenty of other restaurants worth trying instead.

I really liked the mashed potatoes, very flavorful!! However, I'm pulling from my own inner Gordon Ramsay here- the Shepard Pie should be LAMB not beef and it should have veggies within. If you pay more you can get corn, bacon and cheese added. But where are the peas and carrots? Maybe that's a Wisconsin expectation? It did not taste different than the Pot Roast which came with broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots as well as two large scoops of potatoes. Being downtown the price is reasonable around $25/person with a drink, but portions are small. Luckily I don't eat much in a single setting. Our waiter Alex was good, moderately attentive, and generally took care of our needs. The overall volume was excessive making conversation difficult. Ladies room was clean, cold water for hands is not a favorite but not an unusual way to save a little money I guess. I would come back but only if I'm in downtown Milwaukee.
