Tonight I went there to get my propane tank exchanged, First of all, the lady was so rude she asked another lady do we have propane and she said No . lady come back and said sorry we don't have it. I said ok I head out, then I saw they have propane tanks with blue plastic on top of it which means its full. I come back inside and asked the lady you guys have it I can see it, it's right there, she hmm hmmm we don't have the key to open the chest ... basically, I think she was racist. Good prices - far less expensive than the Safeway that is close to my house (on Bancroft) Great customer service - Every employee we have encountered has had a smile and always asks if we need help. Vast selection - I have never had to go to another store because they didn't have what I was looking for. Spacious - no ramming into other people's cart like every Safeway. The manager has this store in tip top shape for the COVID19 situation. It is always a clean store, but even more so now. Touch pads, the belts, and the scanners are disinfected between customers. There are duct tape markers to keep people apart and only one entrance to monitor for masks and clean carts. When I've been in there, someone is cleaning the floors during open hours, as well. They really could not do a better job than they are. Pretty impressive! read more

I usually don't have good experiences at Grocery stores, but it is nice to gives props to ones that I have good ones. I went to pick up a Bday cake and get last minute party supplies. The Wifey texted me and needed 16 Helium Balloons. Yikes, how was I going to fit all those balloons in the car. The Cashier paged some one to help me, and the person was very friendly and helpful. After I received the balloons, I went to pick up the cake from the Bakery. Angelina was Super friendly and was also very helpful. They used the silkscreen from "Clash of the Titans", and it looked great. Even the Cashier was nice and I have to say that this is one of the most memorable experiences I had in a long time. I used to go shop here a lot on my lunch break due to working close by. I would come here to buy lunch, but any last minute food last minute pot luck events. The shop is in the Vineyard Plaza on Clayton Road, and has plenty of parking space. This grocery store are on of my To-go's; huge inventory at reasonable prices. The reason why I am giving this 4 stars is because there is an employee who gives me a weird look every time I go there, and I remember when I had gone there to buy some produce, I asked her a question just once, and I heard her huff at me, and kinda yelled. I was a little shocked, but it's not going to stop me from going there just because of that one employee. I was just there recently, and sure that she saw me but I paid no mind as I was just pleasantly shopping for what I needed. read more

More awful than imagined. I was here last week standing in the self check out line. Me and everyone around could clearly hear this assistant manager yelling at an employee on the phone, right at the register. Instead of helping the customers with their error messages on the self check out registers, she just kept yelling at this employee "I want to see a doctors note if you don't feel well, I am tired of you calling in sick, bla bla bla!!" But I mean rude as hell and loud. It was so dumb. When I went and asked her for a pack of Marlboro Red cigs (while she was still busy yelling at an employee), she amazingly and very stupidly points to the phone as yells AT ME "I'm on the phone with another customer!!!" So I let her finish that call and waited for my smokes. I got them, and she had to type in a code since they are cigs, while she was doing that I said "that was a customer you were yelling at? That's terrible, you yell at customers on the phone while you are at work representing a company that pays you to take care of them?" Oh she didn't like that at all, it was hilarious. She looked confused and so angry but she didn't know how to handle it. She threw her hands in the air and walked away. She looked like she wanted to tell me that she isn't going to sell me my cheez-it's and cigarettes. Just hilarious. That lady is no lady and she acts like an amateur. This store will be out of business sometime soon. It sucks and people are tired of paying more for poor service and the same groceries we can just order to be delivered to our doorsteps by a friendly young person that is polite. So this is my new FAV go to for food shopping in Concord. I am beyond obsessed and will be telling all my girlfriends about this place. They have variety of which I live for. If you were to take food from Safeway, Smiths, and target and combine all options into one store - this would be it! Love love love! 4 stars only because the two ladies in the bakery were extremely rude when I asked for some buttercream frosting to be added to my purchase of one of there bakery items ( I was even happy to pay extra) One of the ladies told me, 'ya, I guess' but was unsure how to do it and the other was super busy and told me she couldn't stop to help me and for me to go to isle 2 to purchase frosting from the baking section. I was completely taken aback. All I had asked for was for a little bit of buttercream to be topped on the mini cheesecake I was buying. I have to say, I am not a big fan of Lucky's at all, but man, they have some of the best customer service! I'm typically doing most of my grocery shopping at Safeway and Trader Joe's, but every once in a while I will stop into Lucky to pick something up; and I have to say, even though I am not particularly crazy about the food items they offer, I always, always, receive such excellent customer service from everyone that works here. Everyone is just so darn friendly; almost brings me back to the good old days when people were more personable and engaging...why can't people be like that anymore!!! Really sad when I think about it. Prices seem to be somewhat reasonable.. Just because of the personable, cheerful service I receive here on my brief encounters, has me wanting to give them my business more often. Until my next visit! read more

I am constantly shopping for groceries! I swear we are at a grocery store 4x a week because we decide last minute what we want to make and we like specific products from specific places. Luckys is wonderful place because they have a lot of sales! They also have a wonderful bakery, one of my favorite things is their dutch crunch loaf! YUM! They also carry La Brea Bakery breads! MMMM and they also have reallly delish cookies! They also have a lot of crazy sales, we always look at the ads and they beat out Safeway in sales most weeks. This location also isn't as busy as the close by Safeway so I like to come here when I don't feel like being in a crowd. read more

Generally speaking I was enjoying my experience at Lucky. The produce area was clean and had nice fresh produce much of it is superior to Safeway. That is, until I ran into the store manager at the checkout stand. It is apparent that he has some knd of ethnic prejudice towards disabled/overweight people. The man did not greet me and was very unfriendly to my shopping companion who felt he had 'hounded her' because the store was closing in 10 minutes. When he wanted me to move forward inline, instead of asking me 'could you please move forward'' he waved his hand and made a noise 'ahhahhahh!' How utterly disrespectful and unacceptible. As a side note, Lucky ads have super small print - for example pepsi 2 liter was supposed to be 99C same as coke but at the checkout I was told it is in multiples of four. There was no signage indicating that, and the text in the ad was super tiny so I did not see it when I scanned the ad. This is misleading advertising. Next time i will shop at Safeway. read more

First timer here. I hadn't been in a Lucky since we moved up 3 years ago. Pleasantly surprised! Not only it is humongous, but I found items here that you just can't find in good ole Safeway. Where else can you purchase a large bag of frozen anchovies? The produce, meat, deli, bakery sections were well stocked and maintained. The aisles are wide so you don't have to play dueling carts just to get around each other. We were only there to pick up a couple of ribeye steaks for dinner tonight and munchies for the Charger game tomorrow, so I really didn't check out the prices too much. The checker was very friendly, explaining to us how to go online and sign up for their programs. We'll be back for a more in depth shopping spree. read more

Can I please just find a hand basket??? In general I like this store. They tend to be well stocked and the employees are friendly. It's a little disconcerting to see them have an employee stationed by the exits to watch us as we enter and exit but hey, I guess that's what you get in Concord. (Are we really all thieves???) I think the prices are a bit high but I appreciate that sale items are usually in stock (unlike Safeway). My biggest suggestion would be to *PLACE HAND BASKETS BY THE DOORS!* I tend to do smaller shopping trips a few times a week and it's frustrating to have to scour the check stands to find a basket. I now just figure if there are no baskets I'll just buy what I can carry and buy the rest of my stuff elsewhere. If you want me to buy more, give me a basket by the door. Not a cart, a basket. Manager of the deli seems like a jerk. I was in there with my father and mind you I don't know the whole story but the manager approached a female worker and started giving her crap for something that occurred. She politely started to explain the situation and he was yelling in the deli at his employer "it doesn't matter, that doesn't matter" until she was crying...he laughed and left the section like she was being the jerk for being attacked in a non professional immature manner. I was appalled that a manager could make an employer cry on the floor in front of customers and not care about the customer or his employer. No company should hold on to an employee like that. Update: They have responded to my reply and he assures me that he was unaware that he came off that way and has promised to apologize to the employee. This is for the tiny recycling center rite in the parking lot! Open Mon-Sat 10:30-4:30 Cans/bottles/glass must be separated Lids must be off any bottles My first time here and didn't know what to expect. Very different from the one we're used to in SF. Upon arriving one of the ladies told me it all had to be separated and as I'm done separating she then tells me the lids must be off of the bottles. Why didn't she tell me before as I'm separating?. The reason? So that she could go ahead of me. Stupid inconsiderate woman. As I'm now hurrying up to take lids off of my bottles, an elderly comes by to help me! Thanks to grandma for the help!! This Lucky's is so great! It is convenient with great customer service. I generally shop at Trader Joe's, or Safeway because of the items since I'm gluten free & I find that those places are stocked with items that meet my needs. But this Lucky's is getting better and better! They have a self-check out, and Applepay which are very convenient things I love! Great for those who are in a hurry, or left their wallet at home, or both like me some days! My favorite thing is their customer service & the personable attitudes of the staff. Today I almost made an epic fail mistake, buying the wrong eggplant for my Eggplant Parmesan but when the cashier caught it by the items I was purchasing, he quickly double checked with me what I was looking to cook & sent his bagger to grab me the correct item! It took her about 1 min, but that simple gesture saved my whole dinner! I wish I caught his name but they're awesome, I'll be making that my every day grocery store now. read more

This is by far my favorite grocery store in the area. They have everything I need groceries wise and the pricing is reasonable. You don't have to have a club card to get their discount but if you DO have their rewards card you earn points that quickly turn into $$$ off. Their app is user friendly and the new Click Cart service where you order your groceries online and pick them up in front of the store is GREAT. Periodically they have their 5 for $25 protein sale making the meat prices cheaper than Costco without the hassle of bulk shopping. But the VERY BEST thing about my local Lucky store is the customer service. There are some serious super stars working there. Amanda, the Click Cart associate is A-Mazing! The meat manager is always friendly and shares recipes. Lawrence the store manager is always there to fix any minor issues that may crop up. I personally am disabled and need help to my car with my groceries and there's always someone available and friendly. It's just a great all around store. read more

This is for the luckys pharmacy. At first I really enjoyed going to this pharmacy. There were never any lines and barley any wait time! I should have none why no one goes here and it's NEVER busy. The pharmacist is very cold with NO compassion for people who have chronic conditions. I needed my prescription filled a little early and she got so snappy with me AND my mother. She didn't try to help me at all or at least show compassion. I work at a animal hospital and even I would NEVEF treat my clients OR their pets like she did to me. It makes me feel sick to my stomach how rude she is. :-( read more

The prices are really good at this place. The produce is always fresh and gleaming. It's always organized, and clean. I definately prefer Luckys to Safeway, and come out of my way to shop here. I wanted to say that I had a very pleasant run-in with my bagger tonight, named Tonya. She was very polite, and helpful. My cashier however was the opposite. I wish that she was more polite and courteous and would stop throwing my groceries across the conveyer like they were garbage. This is a great grocery store. I always find lunch here when I can't decide what I want from any other restaurants; and it's much cheaper. You can buy 3 pieces of bread for $1! (Go earlier in the day, it's more freshly baked) Other than the food options, I can always rely on Lucky to find whatever household grocery's I need. What can I say? i'm just not a Lucky kinda guy. It might because I grew up with Safeway, but I cannot understand who does the bulk of their grocery shopping here. The only time I come here is if it is the most convenient place to get cash back, and even then it is hard for me to find something that I want to buy. I will say I am a fan of the self check out that they have here. For someone like me who just wants cash back, this is perfect. Other than that, I really don't have anything positive to say. Their bread sucks too, so try to avoid that. read more

We like to shop here because sometimes they have deals they don't have at Safeway. The lines do get really long here for some reason. They always only have 1 or 2 checkout lanes opened. This is a convenient and fairly reasonably priced place to buy your groceries. I would, however, recommend staying away from their pre-made foods. I have tried two completely separate pre-made foods from here, and got food poisoning from the food both times. They have really good baked goods, though. read more

WATCH YOUR RECEIPTS. THEY OVERCHARGE! What happened to the Lucky Supermarkets of days old? This place is pathetic. I only bought 5 items and noticed that they overcharged me for 3 of them! I went back to inform the cashier and he questioned me! He made me wait about 10 minutes while a courtesy clerk verified all 3 items and he couldn't find 1 of them. Sheesh! I would have been more than happy to show him and would have only taken 2 minutes! They ended up refunding me the difference but no apology for the error or wasted time! I figured if they just overcharge 100 customers a day like this then they'll be making a couple of thousand extra dollars a day and cheating their customers out of $60,000 a month! Not to mention they always close one door earlier than the sign states and when it is still light out! This would be a fire hazard if their horrible store actually ever had more than a few dozen people in there! The deli, meat, produce and dairy sections are overpriced (on top of the fact that they overcharge you)! And their bakery doesn't have fresh bagels or donuts! It is too bad that this sorry excuse for a Supermarket is just a block away from me! Im going to walk an extra mile to go to Safeway or Foodmaxx just to avoid this terrible terrible place. So sad. Your typical big chain supermarket with a million choices. My first time to this particular location ever since they changed back to Lucky's. That's what happened right? I can't remember anymore, I'm a stranger to these parts officially I suppose. The store itself is clean and well organized with tall ceilings. Good store, really nice employees, decent selection. Only downside are the tweaker panhandlers that come out in the evening hours. Had one talk trash to me when I didn't give home money as he stood in front of my car at the front of the store. I offered him one of my ziplock bags of food, toiletries, and a Starbucks card that I give to homeless and he wasn't interested. Clearly he wanted money for items other than food. I usually don't have too many gripes about Luckys. But the one thing that has always gotten to me the worst is their failure to make good on their whole "Three's a Crowd" deal. It's usually rare to see them follow through with it, but especially during the off-hours. If they have giant poster signs hanging above every checkout lane saying that we're guaranteed an additional lane will be opened if there are three or more people in line, they really should follow through with it read more
